Yelp
We visited Vinyl Friday evening, and overall it was good experience. The atmosphere was really nice, with a mural featuring past and present musicians from a variety of genres, George Jones and Dolly, Bootsie Collins, Janis Joplin, Bucket Head and MF Doom. Theres a few booths along on wall and open dining area and a small raised bars area enclosed with a half wall.
They offer brussel sprouts crisped w a korean stale glaze...soy and chilli w ketchup i suppose. The plate arrived about the same time as our drinks...and were well prepared, hot and fresh. I would order them again. My dining companion ordered a mango and rum cocktail that was criminally sweet...then changed to another cocktail..again extremely sugary. I had ordered a winter lager..it was good and came in a giant glass tumbler.
I selected a Lamburghini (lamb burger) topped with a korean inspired slaw and a side of potato salad. The potato salad was an 8/10...potatoes cooked perfectly, not over mayoed, seasoned well with a few crunchy vegetables...it was fresh and tasted great. It would give my grandmas potato salad a run for its money. My lamb burger itself was great...the toppings were again..fresh crispy and tasted great. There was some classic ( with lamb) rosemary and garlic notes, along with the cabbagy/ coleslaesque topping...it was very good and I would have it again for sure.
My wife ordered a whiskey and garlic glazed chicken "burger" ( seriously gastropubs and restaurants of the world..you can just call it a chicken sandwich, no one will die)
It was so redolent and overpowered with raw garlic.
I eat roasted whole garlic on crackers...i jave jad the classic russian salad with garlic as a main ingredient. This chicken " burger" was offensive with the level of garlic in the glaze. She didnt eat it and refused a box to take it home. Hopefully the server took note and they rework the presentation. I tried a bite and was sorry i did. The fries served with it were unique and very good...sort of an add spiral cut...almost like soft mashed potatoes inside and crispy and spicy on the outside. I rarely order fries but would have these on my next visit.
Service was cheerful and friendly...and patient. There was no push to get an order after tolf he it was our first visit....drinks, clearing and table maintenance were efficient and timely- and she had a personality and wasnt afraid to chat for a few moments...it was refreshing to have an engsging server who doesnt just want to turn a table as fast as humanely possible.
Vinyl was a good value ...2 sandwiches, an appetizer, 2 cocktails and one giant beer cost +/- 70...and the food ( buns , protein, vegetables) were all very fresh and good quality.
Would return again.
