Part record shop, part neighborhood bar, entirely local—Vinyl Tap posts regular no‑cover shows, DJ nights, and listening parties. Editors routinely recommend it for an East Nashville hang where music discovery is free and friendly.

Somebody somewhere had to do this sometime. Bar+Vinyl Shop combination. Clever name to top it all off. Definitely a vibe. Decent selection of new, not so swell in terms of used offerings. New LP prices typical...no bargains to be had. But what a fun place to get a new copy of something you've been jonesing for. WTG Nashville.

wow. i wish i could give more than 5 stars. this place is so awesome and Craig, one of the bartenders, was even more awesome. if you’re in the area this is the number one recommendation. the patrons were incredibly friendly and helpful to new people. i could’ve spent all day here. great drink, even better great folk. thanks yall.

Google
This was such a fun surprise! We were in Nashville for such a short amount of time that I didn't think we'd be able to find a vinyl shop that was still open. Vinyl tap was open late and had a great (if smaller) selection. Rest assured if I somehow get a thousand to blow on vinyl, I'll be back for that Take My Hounds

The vibe here is so good. Combine a record store with a bar and venue? Genius. I love how they support local music and are involved in the community. Places like this are what makes Nashville... Nashville. Great music, nice selection of vinyl, as well as non-alcoholic options behind the bar. I am definitely a fan.

My current favorite recurring music moment in Nashville is Cheap Date, hosted monthly by Noah Gundersen at Vinyl Tap. Talented artists, attentive crowd, and, as the name implies, cheap drinks. Community is what it's all about, and that is apparent at this show every month. It's fun to be in a room with a bunch of folks who are happy to share some space and time for a couple hours enjoying great music.

I’m a regular patron of Vinyl Tap and have been for a couple years now. I have friends who regularly DJ there, and I’ve seen many shows at the venue. We typically go on Friday nights, but last weekend we were there on Saturday when my friend was DJ’ing. A friend who was with us was attacked outside when another patron of the bar started using the N word and acting aggressive. She asked him to stop and he got in her face, saying the word at least four more times. She left shortly after and told me what happened before leaving. Once she was gone, I approached the man who said it, told him it was unacceptable and then he started berating me. I let the bartender know “this guy kept saying the N-word in my friend’s face and she left because she was so uncomfortable,” and he did nothing but shrug. The argument with the racist man escalated into screaming. I eventually left with him threatening to “beat my ass” as I walked out the door, and I told him I’d gladly meet him outside. The bartender again did nothing. My friends and I, mostly queer folks and POC, have always felt safe in this establishment until last Saturday night. We typically find the bartenders don’t tolerate that kind of behavior, which is why I was surprised to see the bartender on Saturday (who I hadn’t seen before) be so nonchalant about the incident and let it escalate like it did. I find it unacceptable and will not be back if he’s behind the bar. Update to my original review: I spoke to the owner on the phone, and while I appreciated him reaching out to better understand the situation, he was dismissive of my issue with his bartender’s response and placed full blame on the racist customer (the bartender remains employed). I was told he had spoken to his staff and the racist guy wouldn’t be allowed back, but never got any clarity on other steps that would be taken to make sure customers handling this situation in the future would be supported and protected by his staff. Let me be clear: a bartender with 5 years experience should know how to handle a situation like this, and responding to blatant racism from a customer with a shrug is not acceptable. The owner all but denied this sort of thing ever happens in his establishment, saying it’s ALWAYS a safe place for people like me and my friend. But the reality is, it wasn’t safe that night, and when staff don’t know how to handle a situation like this, you are not a safe place. My original review stands - I would not recommend going to Vinyl Tap and neither me or my friends will be back.

We are visiting from Memphis and are more with the laid back, chill vibe, so this place was perfect for us. We had fun and felt welcome! Found some cool Slayer and Iron Maiden albums as well

Tons of records and even more local brews to choose. Vinyl Tap is one of my favorite East side gems. You get to drink while you shop, what's better than that? Tons of events too, so check their event calendar and Instagram to see the latest happening. Vinyl bingo is a new favorite of mine. I’ve found countless of rare records here and I’m sure there’s even more to discover! Stop in! If you’ve lived here and never been, what are you doing?

Yelp
A paradigm shift in record stores that I couldn't really enjoy as much as it could be enjoyed. This is what happens when you combine neighborhood bar with record store. In a former life, I'd have worked and lived here. I don't know if there's an upstairs, but if they'd had one circa 2015, I'd have taken a job as general overseer, worked for free, and lived out my days spinning discs and being a pillar of the derelict community as the occasional train passed by just north. Maybe in the next lifetime. This lifetime, however, I got to enjoy the record store part. The collection and offerings are eclectic. I was looking for my usual quarry, the odd Third Man live pressing here or there, some used '90s alt rock, or new era soul (Durand Jones, Nathaniel Rateliff, The Heavy). Digging through the bins, I happened upon JJ Grey and Mofro's latest, grab it, and checked out. While waiting, I was delighted to see that this is a place where parents in the late 20s bring their babies...and I do not mean this as a bad thing. It's a chill vibe; the staff is helpful (juxtapose to Jack Black's character in High Fidelity; none of that elitist slacker scoffing as is endemic among mainstay holder over vinyl places run by Gen Xers) if not welcoming and hospitable, it's not too loud, and fairly secluded. A nice hideaway/ respite from the real world (queue the Cheers theme song: here).

Yelp
Still amazing service even after few years later! Thank you for always doing a great job with all orders no matter how big or small. If I lived locally, I would absolutely stop by weekly and thank you for the email blasts. They're always so helpful!!!

Yelp
Vinyl Tap serves as a great community space for music lovers and beer drinkers alike. You can often find live music or listening parties happening here, and you can browse their selection of vinyl records while you enjoy the music. They have a great selection of local artist records as well as local brews, you can tell they are well in tune with the Nashville community, which is why the community loves this spot! The Dreamburger truck outside serves up the best smash burgers in town on weekends, you can bring your burger into vinyl tap. Remember to enjoy happy hour at the bar on weeknights!

Yelp
This is a great place to have a beer and look through vinyl or do one of the other. The person the record side was very friendly. I'm sure like most shop's the vinyl changes. The bar side bartender was friendly as well with a great beer selection.

Yelp
This is such a fun and unique concept for a bar! Can't think of what goes together better than beer and music! The beer selection is fantastic! We were hopping around, so I only had one, but I could have easily had more. There's even food! The music selection is impressive. If you're a music lover, this is the place for you! The vibe is laid back. The staff are super friendly. If I lived in Nashville, I'd be a regular!

Yelp
I loved the vibe of this place. The concept of looking around Vinyl collections (new and used) is very cool and the staff is very friendly. The beer collection is very good and wide with draft and can options. The dream burger food truck outside is cherry on the cake.

Yelp
Good place to grab a drink. Vinyl tap is part vinyl store and part bar. They have an extensive tap list and a number of signature cocktails. They have two televisions for sports watching and frequently have live bands. It's a darkly lit and small bar with plenty of charm. Vinyl Tap has a little something for everyone and I would recommend checking them out.

Yelp
I've been due for a return visit and updated review for some time considering I first reviewed this place 6 years ago! Very glad they survived the COVID years and are still here. I stopped in this week because I saw they were hosting a meet and greet + record signing by The Watson Twins! Well worth a visit and it was great to pick up their new record, get it signed and have the chance to speak with them. That experience alone prompted my upgrade to 5 stars, cool that they host events like this. But the upgrade is also due to just an appreciation of the whole vibe this place has going for them. The bartenders and staff are super friendly and the craft beer offerings are on point. There are also some solid cocktail choices. Not to mention records! In addition to my signed TWT album I picked up a few new and used records from my wish list, including a signed Lilly Hiatt album and a used Leonard Cohen I've wanted for some time. My old review docked them for price--and, to be honest, records here are still on the higher end of things. I'd say prices for used and new LPs seem to run 5-10% higher than at other record stores in town. But I enjoyed myself too much to hold that against them now, and to be fair they have titles I haven't seen elsewhere. After a couple of beers I was totally fine with paying a bit more to support such a cool business and to ensure other future events like this one. The DJ was playing great music the whole time, too! I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
First off this is a cool neighborhood spot to checkout; a bar, records and large screen tv all in one ! I didn't have a whole lot of time and only poked my head in for about 15 minutes as I was grabbing food across the street at Cafe Roze. Was able to quickly checkout the vinyl landscape which was comprised of 90-95% new/used rock/pop based music with small sprinkling of jazz and other genres. Could definitely come here to hang and grab a few drinks with friends
google avatar

Yelp
Very cool vibe! Record store mixed with a bar and DJ playing vinyl. Perfect start to my first Friday night visiting Nashville. Seems like the local hang too as I chatted with a couple who lived nearby. They gave me some great options for dining over the weekend. The vibe was so chill. They do have a few food options to snack on also. My drink was very well mixed by one of the bartenders and he was sure to add a cherry (luxardo not maraschino) IYKYK. I found some good vinyl picks to bring home so all in all this was an awesome place for me!

Yelp
We stopped in here for a quick bite to eat/drink while waiting on our Air BnB to become available for check in. Actually, that's kind of bullshit. We stopped here because I saw the building and it's obvious badassery and music tie in plus it's a bar?!? Omg. I screamed in excitement (and then in protestation as we were passing it) and nearly caused my fiancé to wreck my poor little Honda. I absolutely loved everything about this place. The noms, the drinks, the beer, the atmosphere, the people, the music choice. *shivers with delight* If I lived in Nashville this would be one of my regular haunts. I'm always up for a stiff drink, good food, great conversation with a bartender (and his beautiful wife), and for scanning through the latest vinyl records they've acquired. Hard swipe right on this place. Hell yeah.

Yelp
Great vibes. Thanks for the beers and tunes! Dj was spinning maaad records. Tried three nee beers

Yelp
Awesome place to grab a bite and shop for vinyl. Great brews and nice vibe. Parking can be a challenge, but well worth that aggravation.

Yelp
Loved this unique and fun concept in Nashville. Came to shop for records and ended up enjoying a cocktail at the bar. There is also a small stage which has live performers and DJs. Only wish I could have spent more time here!

Oryn G.

Yelp
This place confuses me. If you want a bar, open a bar. If you want a venue, open a venue. If you want a record store, open a record store. Just feels a little discombobulated and confusing. Staff was uneducated about beers on tap and the record selection was underwhelming. But, other people seem to enjoy it. Feels very niche.
google avatar

Yelp
Love Vinyl Tap!! Nice local spot with great drink options and a cute collection of records to sort through. I think it's a unique idea for a store and feel lucky to live by it.
google avatar

Brock S.

Yelp
A place any red-blooded record collector or music head will not only love but likely wish they worked at. Enough room to hang out and a great selection of beers on tap with a food truck parked out front means you could probably just live here until your significant other drags you away East parking with a dedicated parking lot and nearby smaller neighborhoods. Across the street on one side is ice cream, another is coffee, and next to coffee is a tattoo shop. A little something for everyone on this corner.

Yelp
THIS. IS. VINYL. TAP. Hold up. A local biz that doubles as a bar and record store? Nashville, you lucky dog. I'd hang out here all the time. I think the reason Vinyl Tap succeeds is because the bar is a perfectly good bar as is and the record portion is a perfectly good record store as is. Having both enhances each experience, but one doesn't necessarily get in the way of the other to have a good time if you're not into one. Friendly staff over at the bar that recommended a great, local beer. I believe it was a milk stout and it was damn tasty. Coolest part of the concept is that you can drink beer while sifting through records!! And they even installed cupholders along the way. Genius. Great selection of new and used across all major genres, including some of the niche ones that I'm into. My only qualm? The records were packed so tightly on the shelves that it made it rather taxing to skim through. If they had a few extra shelves on hand, this problem would be eliminated. Also, the punk and metal genres were on the bottom shelf. And basically the only way to search through them are to stick your entire head into the case while close to the ground, which isn't all that fun. Now don't take this the wrong way, because they still rocked a killer selection! From the name to the staff, to the beer to the vinyl, this place boasts a chill atmosphere with cool music in a unique setting. Nashville, if you haven't been you MUST check out Vinyl Tap!

Yelp
We were in the area on vacation and saw this place pop up. Super cool place to sit back and enjoy a beer - they have a pretty good list of options for beers. They did have a food truck outside as well we did not try. I stopped by during the day, but at night apparently they have some music that I would have come back for if we were not leaving that day. Totally a place you'd expect in Nashville, I highly recommend it.

Yelp
Fantastic spot! Orderly experience for Record Store Day and loved the outdoor bands and food trucks while I was visiting Nashville for the the RnR marathon. Managed to snag a copy of the Tori Amos b-sides LP thanks to a super nice woman I was chatting with online to get it. Def would love to comb their shelves not on RSD!

Min M.

Yelp
Fun bar with great beer, drinks and music. Fun to peruse through all the vinyl. Cool neighborhood place to hang with seating inside and out. Lots of happy regulars. Street parking not so bad. Sorry we aren't regulars. It was obvious by the bar service.
google avatar

Kristin M.

Yelp
Awesome spot!! This is a neat find! They have a really great selection of vinyl we purchased a bunch and a nice little chill spot for a refreshing beer. I recommend stopping by for a brew and some cool tunes.
google avatar

Yelp
As someone visiting from out of state. This place is killing it. The staff is so welcoming and sweet. I can get intimidated going into record shops back home in Orange County. But this place is nothing but nice people just wanting to share what they love & have a good conversation. Honestly a big highlight of my short time in Nashville.
google avatar

Lief L.

Yelp
Fantastic set up and had me feeling like I was at home. Beer was great and prices on records was perfect. Pure mint.

Yelp
Very cool bar, lots of cool records, kind bar tenders, cold beer and a pretty good pretzel. 5/5, would hang out here often if I was a local.

Yelp
A bar that sells records or a record store with a bar. Either way it's awesome and they play rad music while you drink. Good vinyl selection too and close to my place. -- Ross Senack
google avatar

Yelp
If you love craft beers and great vinyl (to listen to AND purchase) then this is your spot. They have a full bar, a small menu and lots of tables to invite friends. Great craft beer selection with a bartender that will match you with the perfect pint. They will buy your used records if in good shape, or perhaps trade (don't know but hopeful). Of course, my husband couldn't help but say repeatedly "this is vinyl tap", yes play on words of course. We parked around the corner on the street without much fuss and enjoyed the short walk through the neighborhood. I tell you though it's like putting an alcoholic in a liquor store though as I always feel the need to purchase a new album each time! Damn you Vinyl Tap! My only complaint, and has nothing to do with the establishment itself, is when did albums start to cost so damn much? I know, showing my age for sure!

linda c.

Yelp
This is not a restaurant but a bar that has a vinyl record collection store front. Fun for beer lovers and record hunters.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I got dropped off in what seemed to be the middle of nowhere, as we prepared to kill 6 hours before our departing flight back home. Turns out the middle of nowhere houses two of the best pubs/ breweries we've had the pleasure of visiting. Vinyl Taps was incredible. The staff was friendly, prices were great, beer was amazing, food was delicious (and even more delicious when we were starving and finished it on the plane hours later). The vibe was cool, laid back and super unique. Definitely stop here.
google avatar

Jason G.

Yelp
Our Airbnb was right next door so I had to check it out. Disclaimer: this review is just for the record store, I didn't get a chance to eat here. But I think it's a great business plan to put a record store right next to a bar. have a few drinks before you go shopping and it's almost guaranteed you buy something. From what I saw it was 80% new vinyl and then some used in the back area. I found a Beastie Boys record that I had been searching for so I walked away happy. They had a great selection of different genres.
google avatar

Zack F.

Yelp
This place is pretty dang nifty. Do you want a local craft beer before, after or dare I say.... during the tickling of fresh vinyl? Peruse things like Tom Waits while you sip from a tulip, or maybe you would rather have a pint while securing the box set of WU-TANG?! That's nothing to f^*+ with if you ask me. There's a few televisions, plenty of tables and what appears to be a stage for live action in your face real life music players! WOW. I know, try to contain yourself please, it's almost too much to bare as I drink yet another tasty brew off of the limited time chalk board. That's right, in addition to the usual fancy tappers, there is a rotating list that you can jive on while I kick it up to eleven and let that music jam my face off. Come here for beer. Come here for music. Come here to see your friend Jim. Just hurry up and get inside!
google avatar

Adam N.

Yelp
Extremely fun place to stop by for a drink. It's never too busy and packed. Great drinks and knowledgeable bartenders. It's fun to browse the record collection while having a nice drink.
google avatar

Yelp
What more can you ask for...Vinyl & Craft Beer. It's almost like when "sporks" were introduced and everyone said, "Why haven't we had this years ago" Great concept, love the ambiance and vibe.

Yelp
Records + Beer?! Is this heaven?? Seriously I am upset I didn't come up with this business idea for myself, because Vinyl Tap is basically my DREAM. I came in here with my husband, we had a couple of craft beers at the bar and then went to check out their vinyl collection. They have 24 beers on tap, many of which are local. There's also a small wine list and a small food menu too. Happy Hour 4-6pm, $1 off drinks! Did you know they have CUP HOLDERS for your beer while you're browsing? Yes, they've thought of it all! They have a great selection of modern indie/pop/rock records, plus a small selection of classic rock, country, punk, and used records. My only complaint is that their records bays are deep so I had to stand on a stool to get to the back (short people, what up). We found a few records to take home with us, including Kings of Convenience, Jimmy Eat World, and Dan Auerbach. If you're an audiophile and/or beer lover, you need to check this place out!
google avatar

Jeff S.

Yelp
Not sure why there's not more places like Vinyl Tap? A small record store inside of a bar is pretty rad & they always have a good eclectic music playing inside! In the times I've been there, the crowd is light but steady & it's just a cool place to stay awhile, vibe to some tunes, & possibly purchase an album or 2 with your beer!
google avatar

Yelp
One review? Seriously, Nashville. One review? You gotta do better. Vinyl Tap is just the cool beer bar that's perfectly located in Eastwood. When I say it's 'cool', I mean it in the way that it's chill and you can come hang out, have a couple of pints and enjoy yourself. It's not 'cool' in an unsustainable, scene-y way. You'll come back here. This will be a regular bar for locals. You'll bring your out of town friends here. You will. It was a natural evolution and marriage of what certain spots on/in the East Side are all about: craft beer, vinyl records, authentic Nashville. This isn't a fly-by-night I-barely-know-street-names Nashville experience. Helmed by a native (#unicorn) Nashvillian, Vinyl Tap offers a well-curated beer list (plus, wine and spirits) to pair with a well-curated vinyl selection. In addition for searching for those hard-to-find finds, expect to hear what happens when needles meet wax. As should be expected, the soundtrack to Vinyl Tap is awesome and will compel you to spend some time on the bar stools, contemplating life, listening to great music, sipping on a nice beer, and, even, munching on some snacks. Vinyl Tap is what would happen if your best buddy had a really comfortable (and, big) basement (or, man cave), a stash of craft beer, incredible music from all sorts of artists, and could put together a mean sandwich. I don't mean that as an insult. This is one of the more chill lounges you'll encounter in Nashville. Actually, it's more of a bar but it has lounge elements -- the good ones. So, recap: chill environment, A-W craft beer options, melodious tunes spun the way they were meant to be spun, and good munchies. Oh, did I mention the in-house DJ (spinning vinyl records, natch) and the fact there was a Childish Gambino listening party here? 'Cause that all happened. Oh, and a happy hour from 4-6 with $1 off drinks? Am I still really having to sell this place? Get with it, Nashville!

Sebastian I.

Yelp
Definition of quantity over quality. Horrible organization, and had none of the labeled artists. The lighting was so bad I could barely see the vinyls themselves. The bottom section was so inconvenient. You had to crawl 3ft into the shelves to barely be able to see the records. My grandfather tore his meniscus trying to examine the heavy metal collection. 3/10 experience.
google avatar

Hector B.

Yelp
Oh yeah. I didn't get a lot of time here, only less than 2 hours. I really wanted to try more. I really wanted to go thru albums as well, but really want to come back. Fun. Good service. Great vibe.
google avatar

Chad R.

Yelp
This is a great place. Good drinks, and hundreds of vinyl albums to sort through! I stumbled across this place, but plan on spending more time here. My love for music and my appreciation for craft beers all fused into one place! Who couldn't love that!
google avatar

Sara K.

Yelp
Cool little place to grab a beer. Local selection, bartender wasn't the friendliest - but whatever. Lot of record selections and I would guess they have live music in non covid times.
google avatar

Mary Ann G.

Yelp
I LOVE this place so much!! It takes me about 50 minutes to get here and it's worth every second!!! Not only is the music choices fantastic, and beer extra cold, but the FOOD!!!!! My favorite is "The Albini" a little secret have them put chips on the sandwich!! Trust me also their happy hour runs noon-6pm tues-fri and all day on Sunday! Have em make you a Bloody Mary!!
google avatar

Brian S.

Yelp
Guy at the door/check-out was cool. Bartenders were good. Whiskey sour was ok. But the second beer my local-beer-loving cousin had was , apparently, not very good. He seemed to think the tap might not have been clean. (Note: he did finish the beer.) Great atmosphere. Great place to hang with friends. Just need to be sure they are cleaning their taps.

John B.

Yelp
If you like a *lot* of black paint everywhere, pretentious staff, no possibility of getting a Bud Light or a shot of low-to-medium brand bourbon like Maker's Mark because it is beneath them, then this is the place for you!! Enjoy your black paint decor from "Hi-Fidelity" and you had better LOVE Greenday..

Kurt B.

Yelp
The vinyl tap is an amazing space for lovers of music and beer. I came here with my son for his 21st birthday and found some awesome vinyl, as well as toasting to a first beer with me. The vibe was super chill, and the bartender was fantastic. She gave us a lot of good suggestions for listening to music/dining in Nashville while we were here. For those of you who go record shopping often, do not skip this place!

K. W.

Yelp
The perfect experience. Lowkey. Dim lighting. Nice ambiance. Casual and friendly service. They gave us free shots for my boyfriends birthday.

Yelp
Cool spot in East Nashville. The front area is a small vinyl record store (I found a cool Nick Drake that I picked up for my brother), and the rest is a bar. Lots of beers on tap. Other beverages as well. There are also a couple of TVs if there's some sporty stuff you need to watch while you drink. When we were there, it wasn't busy at all, which is nice! Probably because it doesn't attract tourists! I went with my parents and my husband. We bought a record and enjoyed a beer and have a generally wonderful time!
google avatar

Keith F.

Yelp
This is Vinyl Tap! Sorry, couldn't resist! Wow, this is probably one of the coolest business concepts I've seen in years! Walking in you see the vinyl store right off the bat. Lots of new pressed stuff and a nice selection of used records also. Prices are not bad on some stuff but higher on others but that's cool because they have a wide variety. Now you go further into the bar, cool little bar area with lots of different drafts. Priced normally you can grab a brew, shop the selection (cup holders built into vinyl racks, awesome) gab with the owner who was there working - super friendly and cool - buy some records and go home super happy. This place is going to be on my must visit list when I'm in Nashville!

Yelp
I wish we had Vinyl Tap in our neighborhood. One of the most eclectic and coolest concepts I have seen. Where else can you experience a small record store, delicious craft cocktails, or have a local beer? Just this place. The bartender was incredibly cool and great at figuring out what kinds of drinks we liked so he could give us the best recommendations. They have a few televisions in the place, but everyone around the bar was so friendly and we ended up making a few friends. This would be my neighborhood hang out and pub if we lived in the area. You have to check this place out!
