Yelp
This is a cafe where you need to understand the details. If you are looking for a French breakfast experience and don't mind eating primarily sweets, hey it's a 5-star place. Cute as a button, lovely owner and staff, very French. All high quality.
However, if you are looking for eggs, or a full breakfast, then I will refer you to the Red Rooster or Crema Cafe, in OldTown Cottonwood.
I myself am rather unwilling to eat much sugar, so I would not try to eat a breakfast here again. Fabulous cappuccino, but remember this is European style, 5 oz, not some Starbucks Grande.
There are a few savory items, but they mostly have ham or turkey, so those of us who don't eat meat will pass them by. But still, even if you're fine with a Croque monsieur or some such, note that there are no sides. No potatoes. So for those who believe "breakfast for kings,..." you will not find what you need here.
I think they have adopted to American life a bit too much by being a bit heavy with the sugar shaker. My standard of reference is still Paris Baguette. Yes, I know they are a Korean chain, but heck, their outlets are the best even in Manhattan, NY, according to my tastes, when I was living there. Very sparing of pouring sugar on. We have one outlet in North Scottsdale here, which I prefer over Violette's, but of course you're not going to drive 2 hours to grab some baked goods. (Do not go to their Tempe outlet, though). A wider selection at Paris Baguette and very light with the sugar shaker.
Be aware that, like most bakeries, if you show up late, you may not have much of a selection.
Ms. Godina: If you are looking at this, please consider cutting back on sugar. Merci beaucoup! But I thank you very much for bringing such a unique establishment to Clarkdale.
