I had such a great time at this Greek restaurant! I loved the spin they put on spanakopita, they made it look like a samosa, it was so tasty and perfect for sharing. The shrimp was really good too, cooked just right. The staff was super friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. Definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the mood for some delicious Greek food with a fun twist!

I attended on Valentine’s Day so the menu was pre-selected so my opinion is based on the choices we had to get a not necessarily what I would have ordered. First tremendously over priced at $110 per person. Not enough food and I was still hungry! The food I did get I sent back because it wasn’t that great and ordered a different entree on pre-selected items which was better. The put on under a table that had water dropping from ceiling. They moved us no problem but put another couple in that exact same spot. They ended up moving 20 minutes later for the same leaking ceiling. Why would you sit someone there again. Desert was okay, liked my husband better. The atmosphere was nicely decorated for the holiday.

Violi It is a Greek restaurant in Oakbrook mall, where you will get a warm, welcoming, beautiful atmosphere, good service, and excellent food. Also, they have happy hours where you can get $1 oysters and $8 for cocktails and more goodies for a good price. Happy hours start from 3 pm to 6 pm. Elevated Greek restaurant, well worth to go to have a beautiful experience.

Went for restaurant week lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Cute atmosphere. Welcoming and friendly staff. And, to top it off, delicious, fresh food. The octopus was tender and tasty. Loved the salad. The gyro plate was beautifully served. Chocolate dessert was delicious--not too sweet, perfectly -tee. The branzino was delicious!!

Violi in Oak Brook is a lovely addition to the dining scene, having opened just a year or two ago. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by a stunning interior featuring a variety of chandeliers that add a touch of elegance. The ceiling, adorned with beautiful leaves and flowers, creates a warm and inviting atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. As for the food, being a Greek restaurant, Violi excels in offering delicious and authentic flavors. The dishes are crafted with care, highlighting the rich culinary traditions of Greece. From fresh Mediterranean ingredients to traditional recipes, every bite is a testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality. Overall, if you're looking for a place that combines fantastic food with a charming ambiance, Violi is definitely worth a visit!

We sat in the outside terrace, grateful for a beautiful summer day in October. Service was excellent, our waiter spoke Greek and was very knowledgeable and helpful. My mezcal drink was perfect. The lobster pasta and the beef pasta were delightful! I can't remember the name of the dessert, but it was described as puffy pillows and they were delicious! Will definitely be back.

We had an excellent experience. A friend and I went for an early dinner. Service was amazing. Fewer vegetarian options but the items we ordered were all great. The atmosphere and decor were very modern and inviting. Our food and cocktails were great. Great place to dine in Oak Brook Center.

Google
friendly and professional service. beautiful atmosphere, good food. the waitstaff offered assorted citrus fruits with my water which was a nice surprise. decided to come for lunch on a weekday and it was relatively empty, but i can see this kind of place being absolutely packed on weekends and at dinner. the portions are a bit small so this is a place where you would order multiple things, definitely driving up the cost considerably. the octopus appetizer was okay, the charring made it bitter but the supplemental lemon was necessary. the meatballs were great. the yogurt sauce was delicious and the meatballs themselves were flavorful. the chicken souvlaki was good. it was a bit tough for thigh, but the yogurt sauce and other condiments made it better. the pita was great! i'm not usually a huge pita fan because i find them dry and/or bland. the pita served here was nicely toasted with a great texture, fluffy on the inside but lightly crispy on the outside. overall, i would return here again because i'd like to try other appetizers and dishes, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is really nice.

Yelp
Not my first time at this establishment, I always expect greatness! This time around I had Alex as my server again and he hit the mark with straight A's. What an amazing experience he made it for me and my family! Food and drinks were obviously great, but everything was brought out at an appropriate time, he was always attentive but never overbearing. When your served knows exactly what you need without even having to finish your statement, that's a sign of a star worker. Give this man a raise

Yelp
Kinda boring. Server asked for allergies and then gave dessert that conflicted with said allergies. Idk

Yelp
We went to try the happy hour as a way to get a taste for the food. Their happy hour is every day and throughout the entire restaurant, just check the hours. Their happy hour service was outstanding and the food did not disappoint! The space itself is so well decorated and the lighting is amazing. The music was perfect for the space, felt like we were at a restaurant in the city. All of the food was fabulous, the tarama was a touch fishier than I'm used to, but still pretty good. The zucchini and eggplant chips were wonderful, and the spanakopita was amazing! My fave was the $1 oysters. I love that there's a place I can go to often for the oyster special. I'm so happy to have found this place! It looks like there's a private room in the back that could seat a good sized party. It would be great for a work event or shower. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Visited Violi for a date night, and it was a great experience overall. The atmosphere is chic and inviting, perfect for a special evening out. All the food tasted light, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. Our standout dishes were the fried calamari and the slow-roasted lamb gyro. The calamari was perfectly crispy, and the gyro was packed with flavor--plus, it's a great option for sharing if you're ordering other plates. While the service was slow (likely due to how busy it was), our server was great--super nice and attentive when they got to us, which we appreciated. Despite the wait, we enjoyed the experience and would recommend Violi for its delicious food and stylish vibe.

Yelp
Tuesday Jan 7th ... we decided to celebrate a birthday here at Violi.... We got here around 4:30pm They offer a happy hour menu from 3-6pm weekdays... so that was nice! We did order from the happy hour menu but also the dinner menu. We ordered the following: $1 fresh orders?! Ooooh yes please... 5/5 stars .... Fresh and Dee-lish, we ordered a dozen Tarama with black caviar $8 - 5/5 stars - pita was warm which we enjoyed and the Tarama was so flavorful and addictive... there were a small amount of caviar.., we didn't mind at all. For $8 it was worth it! Charred Octopus $26 - 3/5 stars -- I've had this before and we were served 2 perfectly grilled tentacles... today though we only got one small sized tentacle and a tad bit under cooked... disappointing Charred filet mignon $49 - 5/5 stars - this was cooked to perfection ( medium rare ) and the potatoes were seasoned perfectly Slow roasted lamb gyros $36 - 4/5 stars - so tender and great flavor. Loukoumades ( dessert ) $15 - 2/5 stars - mini donuts were warm but way undercooked inside.... Ewww didn't like it but we didn't return it or made a scene. Next time, we will stick with Bougatsa which we enjoyed in the past. I ordered a rose from the happy hour menu $8, Ben got a Don Julio Anejo $24, couple of Mythos beer $16 Our bill was $225+, and Jake our server was attentive and courteous, we gave him a good tip. Overall, we had an amazing birthday dinner and we will definitely come back.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place ever since it opened, especially after hearing such great things about their happy hour--unfortunately, we missed it this time! The interior of the restaurant is super cute, but we opted to sit outside, which was a nice experience too. I believe the outdoor seating is heated, making it comfortable. I've also heard that on weekends, the place transforms into more of a lounge vibe with a DJ, which sounds fun! We visited on a Tuesday night, and it was still pretty busy, which speaks to its popularity. Here's what we ordered and my ratings: * Charred Octopus: 5/5 stars (absolutely fantastic!) * Horiatiki Salad: 3/5 stars (sadly, it was missing cucumbers) * Chicken Thigh Souvlakia: 5/5 stars (perfectly cooked) * Beef Tenderloin Souvlakia: 5/5 stars (so flavorful!) The menu has a tapas-style setup, which I loved--it's perfect for sharing and trying a bit of everything. Overall, the food, service, and ambiance were all excellent. I'd definitely love to come back!

Yelp
Upon arrival I was seated fairly quickly with a reservation. The atmosphere was beautiful reminded me of Lyra in West loop. The drink options were nice. I had a tequila with blood orange liquer and pistachio lemon it was delicious. I ordered the octopus for an appetizer and it was in a cream sauce cooked perfectly however the sauce was excessive and a too much lemon like flavor. I would have rather had the sauce on the side. My dinner the lamb chops were standard size and cooked well also. My friend ordered filet mignon which was cooked well but her potatoes were cooked too hard and she asked for another set and those came out hard as well. She felt like her food was off on this day...maybe a different chef. Her truffle fries she enjoyed and they weren't extra hard. Great attentive servers and atmosphere.

Yelp
Updated review... still fabulous! Dined in again and loved my food and experience. Still trendy and great food, service was great just like last time I was here. We started with the grilled octopus which was excellent. My husband and I decided to order the moussaka and chicken thigh souvlakia and they were perfect to split. I could honestly bathe myself in that tzatziki sauce. Since I was here last time, the portions got bigger, they are definitely nicer portions now. Improved but same great dining experience! Great gem in Oak Brook.

Yelp
Celebrated my one-year anniversary at Violi in Oakbrook, and it was such a memorable night! The place has this cozy, romantic vibe with lots of flowers and greenery everywhere--it feels like you're in a little hidden oasis. Our server was great, super attentive, and gave us some awesome recommendations. We tried the deconstructed pastitsio and the slow-roasted gyro, and both were beyond delicious. But dessert stole the show! It had this nostalgic taste, just like a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch in the morning. Highly recommend Violi if you're looking for a romantic spot with amazing food!

Yelp
We went the night before Christmas Eve after going to the Morton Arboretum to see the lights. We had actually came too late and the kitchen was closed but they were nice enough to seat us anyway as the kitchen was still busy serving the customers that were already there. We asked if they were sure and they said yes! We had a few appetizers and desserts with a couple glasses of wine. The apps were great we got the shrimp and the calamari and the spreads. The shrimp was a stand out and my fiancé said they were the best shrimp he's ever had. We got the ice cream dessert and the baklava. Both were good but the baklava was a bit heavy on syrup for our taste. The inside is so cute and we loved all the ceiling hangings.

Minh L.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour. Great decor with lots of seats at the bar. Drinks and apps were excellent. Outstanding staff who told us about the exciting atmosphere there on weekends. Can't wait to come back.

Maria T.

Yelp
First time there. Beautifully decorated. Upscale vibe. Kiana, our server, was extremely friendly and helpful although she was MIA at times so we asked for help from other attendants who were glad to help. She probably had too many tables to serve. The menu included many interesting selections. We ordered 2 glasses of wine, calamari, the fish main entree, and two skewer dishes. We also shared a side of eggplant. All the food was excellent but quite pricey. Our check was $216 which included a 20% tip. I would recommend for special occasions. Other: parking on a Sunday night was difficult... Oak Brook mall. But they offer valet services. $15 plus tip.

Kristena R.

Yelp
Incredible food and atmosphere. This is an upscale restaurant with a beautiful interior and stunning decor. I ordered the lamb chops and they were cooked and seasoned perfectly! The lamb came with eggplant salata which was absolutely delicious. We had the calamari for our appetizer and it was so good! It comes with this amazing tartar sauce that is mixed with lemon and smoked paprika. Someone at our table ordered the Greek roasted chicken and it came with large pieces of roasted garlic that just melt in your mouth- glad I was able to try some because I will definitely be ordering that next time we come here. We were celebrating my birthday and they brought out a free dessert with a sparkler so that was fun. The service was pretty good. It was absolutely packed and super busy(it was a Saturday) so I'd say our waiter did a good job considering that. The only complaints I have is that we had a reservation and we had to wait 25 minutes to be seated, and my boyfriend's filet was undercooked (he requested it medium well). Regardless, I would still come back. This is a fine Greek restaurant!!!

Shary E.

Yelp
We sat at the bar and ordered food and drinks. I thought everything was delicious. The gluten-free options were OK, not great. I wish they had more bread service that accommodated gluten-free restrictions. I would go back. Our weight staff was very attentive, and I loved the bar area atmosphere.

Jincy J.

Yelp
Phenomenal! I was in town for a wedding and heard great things about Violi so I had to try it before I left town. It was DELICIOUS. The drinks were unique and flavorful and packed a much needed lunch. The dishes were also incredible. There wasn't a single item I wouldn't have ordered again. To top this off, the service and ambiance were perfect. It was aesthetically beautiful, lively, and made me forget I was in the suburbs of Illinois. I loved this place. I will 100000% go back when I'm in town again.

Sheetal K.

Yelp
Absolutely loved my anniversary dinner at Violi. It was not busy since it was the weekday but I felt we had a better experience. Being vegetarian, the waiter suggested to do a vegetarian pasta which was amazing! We loved the fire roasted eggplant and spankopetata (I spelled that wrong sorry) and the garden gem salad. We enjoyed the pasta and followed by their speciality dessert. It tasted like Cinnamon Toast Crunch ice cream. The ambience is beautiful and feels like a scene out of overseas.

Anu K.

Yelp
Came here after dinner to grab some more drinks to celebrate my friend's birthday. I was courteous to our waiter and mentioned we just came out to grab some drinks for my friend's birthday which was all good. It was a good experience and better than my previous time here during the afternoon. They were kind to bring out some sort of dessert but it was disappointing to see that on the check as we didn't ask for it.... Which costed 8.00 dollars. Don't bring out something that seems like it's on the house only to add it to our bill... we would have picked out something ourselves if that was the case.

Dennis L.

Yelp
Trendy Greek restaurant with modern decor and pleasant atmosphere. We chose inside seating forgoing the atrium due to weather. Despite being lunch time, only dinner menu was available. Our orders brought out promptly and very well presented. The taste and the preparation didn't fare so well - the meatballs under seasoned, calamari overpowered with paprika and chewy, moussaka completely overpowered by cinnamon, beef tenderloin overcooked and somewhat tough, pastitsio with overcooked pasta and chewy short rib, finally walnut banana cake being bland dry banana bread. We wanted to love the taverna - poor kitchen execution made it very difficult

Mercedes V.

Yelp
Went for the first time for a friend's birthday, and it did not disappoint. The drinks were so good, as well as the food. I was very much impressed by the presentation of everything , the ambience of the whole place was very cozy with the dim lighting but also very elegant, and overall a great experience. I got the half chicken dish and a strawberry spritz for reference in my photos. Around the evening they did a sparkler celebration in the restaurant where they handed out everyone sparklers and it was just very festive; I've never seen any other place do that. Loved it! Will be back soon!

Gabby Z.

Yelp
had a reservation for a girls night and got seated right under all the flowers outside. it's a super nice spot. got served right away. menu is on the pricier side. they have these cute lamps on the table with different lighting and of course great for picture taking with the many backgrounds. we ordered baked feta 10/10, grilled octopus 5/10, greek fries 6/10, cypress 10/10. will be back for something else. grilled octopus was low because of the very, very vinegary taste on it. maybe less vinegar and it's be good.

Mulan C.

Yelp
Ambiance: 5/5 It is beautifully decorated inside and the heated outdoor seating was very romantic too. Service: 4/5 Food: 5/5 Overall, everything came hot, fresh, and delicious. Our favorites included the lamb gyros and lobster linguine. The gyros came as a DIY and it was super fun filling the fluffiest pita breads w all the ingredients. We also loved that they included the lobster head butter for the linguine (a move for the truly culinary headed). The walnut banana cake and Bougatsa were really yummy desserts too!

Ariana G.

Yelp
The food was great! And their lunch deal for crw '24 is a steal for sure cause I left so full! The interior is beautiful and is decorated the same as its sister restaurant Lyra which is also worth checking out. The menu items are basically the same. I chose the spinach mini pies for my 1st course and they are addicting. The star of the show in my opinion was the lamb gyro and fries! The lamb was so tender and flavorful and the pita was thick and soft. It was so filling! And whatever seasoning they put on their fries - amazing! To end my meal I chose the orange cake with greek yogurt ice cream which was just ok to me. I love greek food and I enjoyed my meal here!

Barry F.

Yelp
Yes this place slaps. Food was incredible. We tried a little bit of everything - standouts included the lamb shank, Branzino, and deconstructed pastitsio. Ambiance was lovely and the beautiful people were in the house. Service was very good.

Trina K.

Yelp
Violi is the PERFECT place for date night, an evening out with friends or any celebratory occasion. Think sparklers, a dj spinning tunes, a small light show and attentive wait staff. It's a vibrant scene with music that makes you want to get out of your chair as the evening progresses and noteworthy menu, including a diverse wine selection, creative cocktails and classics. Cocktail selection: 5/5 Lamb Gyros: 5/5 Grilled Octopus: 4/5 Greek Salad: 5/5 Lamb chops: 5/5 Deconstructed baklava: 5/5 Favorites Highly recommend their Greek salad (the feta is the best I've had outside of Greece) and lamb chops. If you have any interest in something sweet, the deconstructed baklava will blow you away. I'm typically not a fan of baklava, but their creation includes praline ice cream and cracker thin phyllo dough. Worth Mentioning My only disappointment was asking for a little more tzatziki. I was charged $5 for the one delivered to the table (that wasn't completely used and could have been packed up) and $5 for another included in my take away. I'm not sure there's a good way to inform guests of the additional charge but we were somewhat blindsided. I highly recommend a reservation. It gets pretty crowded on weekends.

Denyce M.

Yelp
I ventured out here to meet fellow Yelper Latrice A. She discovered this place from an Instagram post and recommended that we meet here for lunch. As it was a Sunday, I thought going to Oakbrook might not be too bad. I typically do not go to the suburbs to dine due to the traffic but decided to go since I was meeting my girl. The restaurant is located in the mall, so I was not expecting to walk into a lovely outside area with heaters and a lovely décor. Latrice made the reservation and was not aware that it was for the patio, in March no less. We asked if they could turn up the heaters and later had to ask them to turn them down because those suckers got hot. Lunch was delightful. Latrice got a chicken gyros sandwich with fries that she said was pretty good. She also got The Karpouzi for her cocktail (Sipsmith gin, elderflower liqueur, watermelon, cucumber, lemon, oregano). She enjoyed it but mentioned that they had hooked up up with the alcohol as she was not expecting it to be as strong as it was....didn't seem to stop her from enjoying it I got the grilled meatballs with smoked yogurt, tomato, and mint. These were very good and the smoked yogurt was a nice complement to the meatballs. For my entrée I got a lamb burger, which was so so good! Our server, Violet A, was so adorable and accommodating. As Latrice mention in her review, Violet was able to speak on the restaurant with authority. She spoke about the various dishes and their preparations, and it was very nice to hear. A lot of servers have no clue what is on the menu of the places they are working, let alone able to speak on the preparation, so that was cool. As I have mentioned in multiple reviews, I am not big on desserts, but Violet and her explanation of the preparation of the Portokalopita (orange syrup cake, white chocolate mousse, Greek yogurt ice cream, crispy filo). Her description of the preparation and the taste sold me and Latrice, so we split an order. We both agreed that it was wonderful. Not sure how often I would come back out here, but it has been added to my list of places to revisit outside of the city. And if Violet A is still there, I want her to wait on me.

Bee L.

Yelp
Food is great. Also so is the help(Jake) knows the menu well. They have a large patio (enclosed and cozy, that is dog friendly too.

Shelby C.

Yelp
Wow! This restaurant is beautiful. The decor is really pretty! Our waiter was really friendly and attentive. The Calamari was really good and the veal was delicious, I was so impressed. They bring out sparklers for the whole restaurant which is a really cool experience during dinner!

Brittani L.

Yelp
If you're into Greek cuisine, this is a must try! I've driven by this restaurant plenty of times and finally decided to give it a try. Finding parking in this area can be pretty difficult, but luckily Violi offers valet parking for $8. The restaurant and terrace are beautiful to say the least. I went during restaurant week and tried that menu. I started with the meatballs. They weren't great in my opinion. They were kind of greasy and I didn't like the tomato sauce. It was bland and lacked flavor. I also had the brussels sprouts which weren't on the restaurant week menu. They were absolutely delicious! I loved the Greek yogurt and onions that were in the dish. I chose the chicken thigh with potatoes as my entree. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. The potatoes were nice and crispy and also incorporated Greek yogurt. Lastly, for dessert I tried the walnut and banana cake. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It came with a small scoop of ice cream and chocolate/coffee sauce. So good! Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Violi. I'm looking forward to going back in the near future!

Yesenia M.

Yelp
Where do I begin?! The food was absolutely devine! The ambiance is beautiful! But the service was top tier! Absolute best service I have ever had in any establishment. I will celebrate my birthday here, every year! Pablo, Darwin & Todd were amazing! They were so attentive to our group of 11, and had the best recommendations for dishes, drinks and desserts. What a fantastic team! I already made plans to come back next weekend! Thank you Violi, for the best brunch we've had in a long

Karen S.

Yelp
Violi is an upscale Greek restaurant. Many of the menu items are on the expensive side. The food and cocktails are great. The ambience is loud and the service is good. We arrived early, just as happy hour was over and there were not too many people dining. However, the music was loud and it was hard to have a conversation. It only got worse as the meal progressed. By the end of our meal we were shouting and saying "What" a lot. They have great cocktails - try the Ginger Muse. And the food was very good. We started with the Breads and Spreads, which was a nice portion for four to share. The spicy feta spread was out of this world good! I loved the Beef Tenderloin Souvlakia. It's one of the more reasonably priced entrées. A lot of the reviews mention that this dish lacks seasoning but I found it to be well-seasoned and the beef was very flavorful. It came with brocollini which was perfectly cooked. The portion size was perfect. I really wish the noise level was lower. This took away from what was a very delicious dinner.

Mariah B.

Yelp
Violi is a great spot for a date night or to grab a drink with friends. The atmosphere is definitely the star of the show! The restaurant is beautifully decorated with bamboo lighting, a floral ceiling, and textured wall decor, which gives it a modern coastal feel. While the dinner atmosphere was impressive, the food fell a little flat. Since Violi is participating in restaurant week my partner ordered off the special menu while I ordered off the regular dinner menu. We started with the charred octopus and the spanakopita. My partner thought the octopus was ok but not charred enough. The spanakopita was good. I enjoyed the crispy phyllo and the spinach but we both thought there was too much feta. For entree's we got the Greek roasted half chicken and the slow roasted lamb gyro. The chicken was moist and the flavor was good but I would've liked more seasoning. The crispy potatoes served on the side were warm and flavorful. My partner thought the lamb was a little bland and very oily. Despite being served with a dry seasoning on the side, it didn't help with the flavor of the meat because of all the oil. We finished our meal with the sokolatopita. This was my least favorite part of the meal. I thought the cake itself was moist and well baked but it didn't really taste like anything and the brown butter ice cream tasted like regular vanilla. Nothing special. Would rate my experience here a 3.5 out of 5.

Jennifer G.

Yelp
We had an excellent dinner here a few weeks ago. The outside patio is gorgeous - and I recommend you get a table out there. Flowers everywhere - just really pretty. We started with the brussel sprouts and then had the gyros and Chicken Souvlaki. All the dishes were delicious and I would recommend all of them. We ended up taking half the gyros and souvlaki home and it was just as great the next day. The meat of the gyros was so tender. Our wine was also good - loved the reisling. The only annoyance I had was the 3% surcharge I saw on my bill afterwards. No explanation of what it was and I find this very annoying that more restaurants are doing this. What "extra" am I paying for?

Paul T.

Yelp
We went there last night on a very cold evening and were sat in the corner of the indoor patio section by the door. It was drafty and frigid. When we asked to be moved, we were informed they were fully booked. We complained multiple times to our server who was apologetic and attempted to increase the heater, to no avail. I spoke to the manager prior to our departure, who concurred this was an issue but no attempt was made to compensate us. We spent $500 to basically eat outside. Disappointing...

Stef B.

Yelp
Food was delicious! Especially the baked feta and Greek fries. The pita was amazing!!! ....dessert was great too. Beautiful decor. Downside: very loud and parking was hard to find. It was expected on a Friday night though...

Padma A.

Yelp
Great ambience, Mike our server was very friendly and attentive. We had 2 kinds of salad... the chopped salad and gem lettuce , best old fashioned I had in a longtime , Moscow mule and scotch. Main course we had lamb chops, meatballs and baklava for dessert which was served with ice cream. Liked the food, drinks and decor, transported to greek islands . My espresso was lukewarm so the manager got me a fresh cuppa. Will be back soon!

Eda X.

Yelp
Violi, meaning "Violin", is sister kin to Lyra in West Loop, Chicago. This gem brings trendy dining experience of the Greek fare for Oak Brook and is much welcomed to spruce up the glam in the shopping mall. I absolutely love their interiors and outdoor patio dining space. Absolutely gorgeous venue for dates and girls outing. I highly recommend you try their octopus!

Susan M.

Yelp
I forgot to review this place last July when I visited with my mom . I've been meaning to go back, and I will . The vibe inside this place transports you someplace else. I don't know exactly how to describe it, but I didn't expect it. We were seated towards the back in a nice booth and ordered a souvlaki, one of the salads, and I believe the hummus and charred beets. Everything was delicious. The waiter, I remember, being very kind and helpful with the menu. The patio looks like a cool spot to hang out too. Really nice addition to the Oakbrook dining scene. I think you'll feel transported too.

Masha K.

Yelp
Food was outstanding!!! Lovely potatoes, mushrooms, and chicken. Beautiful atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

Food was really great, I was happy with what I ordered. I got the filet mignon. My friends tried the pasta dishes and Mousaka. I ordered the banana walnut cake per the reviews and it was very good. Happy with the service. Just wish waiters wouldn't come around so often to grab the dishes.

Yelp
Great fresh food and fantastic cocktails! The ambiance is very unique and provides a city experience in a suburb restaurant. The steak and Greek fries are exceptional.

Yelp
Food is amazing. You have to try the meatballs and roasted halibut. Old fashioned is the best!

Yelp
My husband and I met some friends for dinner at Violi on a Friday night. Getting to the restaurant was a HUGE PAIN. The parking was horrendous. Once we got to Oakbrook Center, it took us ten minutes to find a parking spot, and we ended up parking several football fields away. We had to cross dangerous traffic at night to get there. The experience was not much better once we got inside. Once you enter the restaurant, you are immediately hit by an unpleasant and LOUD thumping music. It felt more like a nightclub than an intimate restaurant. The lighting is very dark. It was hard to read the menu. When I tried to take pictures, my camera went to night mode, and we were INDOORS. Violi charges a lot to for their food. This is acceptable if the food delivers a premium experience. The food was average. It was underseasoned. It was OK but not worth the price we paid. The dishes were brought out at different times. Our friends were polite and didn't start eating until all the dishes were brought out. That meant that they had to wait five minutes to eat while their food was getting cold. I cannot recommend Violi. There are much better choices for a much better price available.

Yelp
Went there this past weekend with family and we got double charged for two things we had on our bill. Reached out to manager, Sean, and he refunded only one of the items. I guess we'll have to reach out to DineAmic group that owns this restaurant and try to sort this out. But overall a very unpleasant experience.people should check their bills when they come I guess.... I've attached photo of the bill.

Yelp
They have a wonderful happy hour menu which includes a selection of wine and cocktails. We pretty much ordered one of everything and I particularly enjoyed the spanakopita and chicken souvlakia. It's definitely worth checking out, especially if you live in the burbs and since it's in the mall, you can walk off all the happy hour drinks

Yelp
This skillet dish was exquisite in presentation and taste. Tenderness within the wagyu beef satisfied my taste buds. Along with it, came mini sweet peppers, smoked onions, and an orange glacéd sauce to spice up the entree. Service wise, the response time was a hit and miss to order immediately. Violi's whole design represents its Greek Roots in an easygoing atmosphere with a dim lighted theme of mystery.

Yelp
First time to this Greek restaurant. The place is so inviting and cozy! I can truly never have enough Greek food! Met up with a friend for Sunday lunch. So many items we wanted to try so split dishes to try more. We started with Spanakopita starter, two phyllo triangles that were yummy and Brussels sprouts served over what I thought was a tzatziki sauce but the server said it's a smoked yogurt. One of the best I've had. Already filling up we split the lamb gyros. Now I hesitate to get gyros at nicer restaurants as my local fast food Greek stop is perfection, but both the servers and the reviews online said it's very good and it was different than typical gyros meat. It came with a side of the Greek fries and a fluffy pita bread All outstanding and left us very full. Would definitely go back and see their more extensive dinner menu next time.

Yelp
Elevated Greek food with the "haute cuisine establishment" vibe. Top quality ingredients used to create familiar dishes. $32 gyros dish was EXCELLENT, but don't expect meat strips with a side of fries. Service really added to my positive experience. Hector was the perfect balance of service & personality. DOn't know much about this place, but it deserves to have a long lasting run. !

Yelp
The restaurant is beautiful. The service is quick, the menu isn't overbearing. You do have to be sure to shell out some cash, though. This isn't inexpensive. You also must reserve. Anyone that opens a restaurant in Oak Brook Mall will always be packed, so you will get that whole "good luck finding a reservation" on your radar. It's an annoying part of Oak Brook, but smart for the business, of course. The food is modern Greek, you're not going to get slop on a plate and the visual of the food is going to be more than your standard rice with tomato base sauce. Violi is really setting the stage to show you the capabilities of what fantastic Greek cuisine is really like. I would actually give this about 3.5 stars because the food cost do not match the food portions. These plates are made for sharing, but they aren't priced that way. Because of that, it's hyped up as upscale.
