"Virgin Hotels San Francisco has checked into SoMa, where it’s open now at 250 Fourth Street. And while the news is good for those looking to get a room — there are 200 of them, for which reservations have been live since last summer — the new hotel will soon be a plus for local diners, too." - Caleb Pershan

"San Francisco’s Virgin Hotels San Francisco in SOMA invites you to step in then step out onto its whimsical and cozy rooftop terrace and bar. In addition to well-crafted drinks, culinary creations from chef Adrian Garcia will comprise an exciting menu, but it’s the setting, just steps from Yerba Buena Gardens and SFMoMA, that will create an unforgettable San Francisco stay." - Kimberley Lovato

We recently stayed at this hotel , and all I can say is 5 Stars all round. The staff where amazing accommodating, pleasant to deal with and also very nice. The rooms are a great size also, we loved the great size windows and lovely view. The roof top bar is a highlight and has great cocktail options. The service was also awesome. On our last night, we dined in the restaurant on the ground floor, the food was sensational. I’m so happy for Sir Richard to have such a great hotel in a beautiful city. Well done.

Second time staying here and it’s now my favorite hotel in San Francisco for a weekend getaway. The rooms are great, the amenities are a great value, and the staff is amazing! The mini bar is stocked with affordable drinks and snacks, and even the in room pour over coffee is delicious. Join their loyalty club and get free upgrades and personalized service. We got upgraded to one of their over-the-top suites to celebrate a special occasion. Definitely consider this hotel when you’re planning a trip to San Francisco.

The hotel and management are great! The room is small but well arranged and has everything you may need and then some more. We appreciated the personal touches and the ease of navigating, including getting up to Everdene directly from the hotel elevator and our car being ready upon check out. We did have an issue getting any service at the roof top bar however Andrew was beyond accommodating and fixed everything right up. A great people manager who definitely has a finger on the pulse of the operation. We will definitely stay here again and may just come for the atmosphere from time to time.

LOVE THIS HOTEL, AND THE STAFF! We stayed for our wedding night and the location and hotel was awesome! The room was really nice and very comfy and extremely clean and very quiet. The staff we're super nice. They asked at check-in if we are having a good day and we told them we just got married. About an hour later they cam to our room with a bottle of bubbly and some candy for us, was a really nice touch and made our stay even more special. Would 100% stay again, great place!

Very elegant hotel close downtown of San Francisco. Staff were very friendly, especially Ali (valet attendant from Russia, hopefully I remember his name well). But there were a couple of things I would love to say. Hotel is still under the the construction and their patio wasn’t opened yet. Valet parking works just sometimes. There was some miscommunication between them and we had to wait for our car for a long time. If you have a bigger vehicle they will probably have a problem driving it. Hotel room was very nice and I truly enjoyed the shower! Overall not bad place to stay!!!!

(This is a review of the bar only) Very pretty space, with lots of little nooks if you want to be alone, or more open seating if you're feeling social. Cocktails are good and reasonably priced for San Francisco. Very nicely cooked burger as well. Staff are friendly and helpful although I got a mix of one experienced bartender and another who was clearly a newbie.

We are currently staying and still have three nights to go, rooms are funky and beds are very comfy, great showers, however we had to change rooms because of the noise from the construction. My only complaint is customer service when complaining about the room noise from the looks of staff I felt like I was a difficult customer - I also didn’t appreciate being told that no one has complained about the room noise before oh and an added comment about finding another hotel alternative as a solution to the problem didn’t make me feel any better either.

The room was the size of a closet, but felt a little higher end. The door to the shower and the door to the toilet were right off the hall, with the sink being in the hall. No actual separate bathroom. Loud construction and welding going on right outside our window the entire stay, so we had to keep the blackout curtain closed most of the time. (probably added to the room feeling small). Staff was nice and helpful. Edit: Forgot to mention the restaurant in the lobby was excellent.
