This place is awesome! It has a nice atmosphere and the location is great! The food and the service were great also! They have indoor and outdoor seating. There is a bar as well. The lighting indoors was dimmed, so we sat outside. The restaurant sits down by the Potomac River. There are shopping and other food spots around also. Whether you're with family, friends, date, or whatever, it's a great place to grab a bite!

Google
Honestly, I was expecting "just okay" bar brunch food, but I was very impressed with the quality and variety of food options--especially for brunch. The Scotch Eggs were perfectly prepared with a crispy outer layer and a just-past-jammy yolk in the center. For the main dish, I enioyed the Chesapeake Benedict which included plenty of crab given the price. Several other people at my table ordered the Gyro which looked incredible (along with the option for duck fat fries). The staff were attentive to our table even though the place was pretty busy and we were off to the side. I will definitely be back to Virtue Feed & Grain in future Alexandria visits--I've also heard they have a great beer and whiskey selection!

Google
The duck poutine fries were AMAZING! The brussel sprouts were phenomenal and the Birria Burger is an absolute SMASH! Our drinks were great and the service was top notch. I’ve eaten at Virtue before, but this was my best experience yet.

Google
I got the bacon wrapped scallops and pasta. The scallops were really good, for the price I hoped for more than 3 scallops. The pasta was disappointing, as it was too salty. I brought some leftovers home but didn't eat them bc of how salty it was. Three people at our table ordered the short ribs and said they were good. The crab dip appetizer was very good. Big restaurant that can seat lots of people.

Google
Virtue Feed & Grain shines as a favorite in Old Town Alexandria, combining rustic character with modern American cuisine. Set in a beautifully restored 1800s feed and grain warehouse, the space features exposed brick and wood beams that give it a cozy, welcoming feel. With two levels of seating and a dog-friendly patio, it's perfect for everything from casual lunches to relaxed dinners with your pup. The menu offers something for everyone, with standouts like the Prime Rib Sandwich and creamy Mac and Cheese, both known for generous portions and rich flavor. Seafood options such as the Fish Tacos and Short Ribs have also earned rave reviews. On weekends, their brunch menu offers a tasty variety of dishes to kick off the day. Guests are met with warm, attentive service, and the bar is a highlight—serving up craft beers, creative cocktails, and an impressive whiskey lineup. Wine lovers will appreciate "Wine Down Wednesdays," when select bottles are half-off. Whether you're out for a laid-back meal, planning an event, or just catching up over drinks, Virtue Feed & Grain delivers with its historic charm, delicious food, and top-notch service. A definite must-visit in Alexandria.

Google
Tasty starters and mains, portions are plentiful and the staff is very attentive and friendly. The menu is large and the cocktails are tasty too. The top floor is more cosy than the lower floor, so get seating there if possible.

Google
My mother in law is in town with her best friend and we took them here last night due to it being one of our favorite spots in Old Town. The patio ambiance was spectacular. We have never gotten a bad meal or drink from this place. Last night I had the Virtue Martini and it now just might be one of my favorite cocktails ever. There's a reason we keep coming back, and it's because of the combination of great vibes, food and wonderful service. HIGHLY recommend the tuna poke salad and Steak and Fries.

Google
Nice corner spot for brunch/ lunch. Great location and nice ambiance. Service was good, we were seated upon arrival without prior booking. Food wasn’t the best, and I’d give it 3.5 but I always round up. We ordered fried calamari as a starter (sorry we started eating before I took a picture so it doesn’t give it justice) and to me that was THE STAR of the visit and loved every bite. I ordered pan seared salmon and it came drenched in oil, like I’ve never had a salmon like this before, but it was crispy, flavor was meh. My partner ordered a medium burger and he received his well done.

Yelp
I don't usually write reviews, but this one was definitely necessary. The food, service and ambience was all on point. This was a spur of the moment outing with my husband and my youngest son. searching for a restaurant. We were sitter within 15-20 minutes even though we were told it was gonna be a 45 minute wait for a table. Our server was Antonio, who was very attentive, he made sure our table stayed clear of clutter and trash he made sure drinks and water were refilled. The food was hot and fresh and was prepared in a timely manner. I would definitely revisit we enjoyed ourselves thank you so much.

Gibril M.

Yelp
Clay S was excellent. He was helpful and friendly with us while ordering and very professional. He made suggestions and also was very fast filling our waters up and also quick to see if we needed anything. The food was delicious.

Yelp
I've been here a dozen times or so, and the service, food, and drinks are always top notch. The place is pricey, but good. (Aren't all places in NOVA pricey?) Appetizers: A nice selection....the chips and dips (hummus, tziziki, salsa, cilantro ranch) are good but small. Chips are not great but they serve as a vehicle for then dips well. The Scotch Eggs are awesome. I do not like hard boiled eggs, but these are fantastic! Chicken chozio coats the eggs and the dip that comes with them complements nicely! Food: I've never been disappointed with their food. They have great burgers. French dip is good. On this trip, I got shrimp and grits. The shrimp have had their tails removed, which I like rather than having to dig into the dish to remove them. The grits are firm and the sauce with Lasso ham is very tasty. Drinks are good. Thye havenandecent beer selection (not all IPAs or all mass-produced domestics. They have interesting liquor.options, as they had a special GW Bday whiskey and a Blanton's Old Fashioned. Good selection. You need a reservation, but on a week day, we were able to get one an hour prior to seating.

Yelp
At Virtue Feed and Grain we were treated to excellent service by Ariana. Virtue has a menu with many great selections. We enjoyed perfectly crafted Old Fashioned Cocktails while we perused our entree choices. My wife opted for Pasta Puttanesca with shrimp the tangy sauce and tender pasta went perfectly with the plentiful shrimp. I could not resist the Australian Lamb Chops which were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Both entrees were beautifully presented. I'm sorry, that I didn't take any pics. I couldn't wait to dive into my Australian Lamb Chops-awesome! I noticed that Virtue Feed and Grain has a bourbon selection of more than 100 specialty brands and a scotch selection of 50+. Spirit Aficionados should ask for the green book. The upstairs dining area was rustic, charming and intimate. Virtue is a nice quiet venue. The team seems to do everything right with the customer in mind.

Yelp
Had a weekend dinner here with family and really enjoyed all the food we ordered, as well as the ambiance. We each ordered a different type of pasta -- including the rigatoni and the Mac and cheese. Everything came out hot and tasting fresh. The service was a bit spotty at times, but I think this is because they seemed especially busy. Our only difficulty was finding our server for drink refills throughout the evening. The upstairs area for seating is cozy with TVs available to watch sports games. There is a full service bar upstairs and restrooms for use. This location in old towne makes this spot perfect for an easy weekend meet-up, or a weeknight with friends or family.

Yelp
Very nice historical building in Old Town that was once a livestock feeding station for animals in the 1800s. My girlfriends and I stopped one afternoon for drinks and apps in the bar. The cocktails were good and the service was attentive. We started with the lobster hushpuppies and crab dip. The crab dip was the best crab dip I've ever had in my life. We had to order a second batch because it was THAT good.
google avatar

Yelp
I would say this place was alright. It's a huge place, but they can get busy on weekends. The appetizers were in my opinion better than entrees. The appetizers are shareable with no more than 3 people. Ordered: Crab dip - 9/10 Mac & Cheese - cheesy and delish companion a cast iron 9/10 Calamari - kinda weird with artichokes and olives 7/10 Steak quesadilla- good and huge portion, but very greasy 8/10 Beef short rib - 6/10 Grits - 7/10 Shrimp tacos - 7/10 Drinks Peppermint espresso- 7/10 Blackberry bourbon smash - 9/10 Hot coco - 7/10 Hot toddy - trash Overall, the experience was pleasant. It was New Year's Day so of course it was a little busy. It's kid/baby friendly and the staff were kind. It's a casual spot, the menu is fairly big.

Yelp
Really comfortable and cozy, two-floor restaurant with standard dining tables and bars on each floor. The place was decorated nicely for the holiday season which made our experience even better. We grabbed a seat at the long bar and settled in for some Saturday afternoon drinks. I had a couple of whiskey + cokes which were tasty and my girlfriend enjoyed the hot whiskey + ciders which were perfect for the long day. Both drinks were delicious and well made. We got an order of wings to share and they were really solid - I enjoyed the sesame seeds and green onion that were sprinkled over the wings. They provided a nice crunch and burst of flavor. I also appreciated getting 10+ wings for $15; I feel like I never get that value from an order of wings anymore. The service was great; our bartender was attentive and friendly. This is a great date night spot; there were alot of couples enjoying drinks and the warmth of the restaurant. I appreciated all the wood furnishings (and Christmas decor) which really made the spot cozy.

Yelp
This is a truly a staple restaurant for my friends and family. Anytime someone visits from out of state we go here because there's something on the menu for everyone. The restaurant is amazing to host large parties (just make sure you snag a reservation beforehand) and the service every time we've come has always been great. We always order the Crab Dip (a must appetizer) and then various entrees which all have been great so far. You really can't go wrong ordering anything here!

Yelp
Food (5/5): Every time I come here, it just gets better ;) We tried some fun draft beers, which hubby loved and I tried the seasonal hot cider with whiskey which was great! For apps, we tried the Scotch Eggs, which were deep fried hard boiled eggs with cheese and pork....really interesting but good! We split the Umami burger - medium rare. The duck fat fries were just amazing and the burger is savory and satisfying. You won't go wrong with eating this! Service (5/5): Garson did a fabulous job. Ambiance (5/5): Definitely my favorite place in Old Town Alexandria - its cozy rustic vibes is exactly what I need on a cold winter day! The rustic wood beams and the nice Christmas decorations are just what you need to enjoy the season.

Yelp
We were visiting family in Alexandria and found ourself walking around Old Town and trying to figure out where to eat. We came across Virtue and it's now a family favorite! To start, we ordered the calamari, Brussel sprouts, and crab dip. All were very, very good. I must say the Brussel Sprouts stole the show. The honey they drizzle over the Brussel sprouts takes it up a notch, or two! So very tasty! For my main meal, I ordered the virtue burger which was very good and the duck fat fries. I didn't love the duck fat fries, they were just okay so I'll try the regular friends next time. Best dining experience I've had in a while! Our family that lives up there has since gone back, and we'll return on our next visit.

Yelp
My family and I came into Virtue on a whim as we were on the area and needed somewhere to eat. We were sat immediately and our server was really good. Didn't catch her name but she was really attentive. We all opted for different items on the menu but what stood out was the Rigatoni...it was very flavorful and you get a large portion. This place is def a good stop in.

Yelp
Wow! What a delightful experience. Two of us visited early evening, 11/13/24, and had a marvelous meal. Wednesday is wine day so we enjoyed a bottle of red while splitting a South West style Ceaser salad, and our own orders of the Ciccapone (sp?) seafood stew it was delicious. Fairly quiet for a large space. We sat upstairs in a booth. Attentive waitress, helpful staff, great food. You should go.

Yelp
Old town has grown overtime and one of the nicest establishments that settled in is Virtue Feed & Grain. I had the chance to finally come and dine after hearing so many great things from friends. It literally became a go-to place when I want to sit near the park and away from a busy pedestrian area. The seasonal menu is refreshing when wanting to get something fresh and different. Each dish I've gotten has been delicious and filling. The portions are great! There are two floors and outsoor dining. The second floor is a bit of a squeeze. And the seats are not meant for big boot-ang. The noise is loud but it's a vibe. Definitely a great local spot. Fyi- older kid friendly. No baby or ttoddler friendly
google avatar

Helen M.

Yelp
Stopped and had lunch with the Bridal party between wedding dress shopping. The vibe was casual and cool. I liked the wood grain tables and second floor street views. The employees were very friendly and welcoming. I ordered an espresso martini because I noticed it had caramel in it. I very much enjoyed it with the stemless glass. The girls ordered crab dip and chips for the table. I'm a big crab dip fan, so I thought that was tasty. The chips were a little too salty for my liking, but you can't have dip without a chip. For lunch I ordered the shrimp tacos. I was surprised by the portions and how the tacos were filled. I was pleased and full from the shrimp tacos. I passed on the chips and salsa with my meal due to already indulging myself with crab dip and chips. I really could see myself coming back of course with friends and family.

Yelp
Wow oh wow I cannot wait to come back. We started with the mazze platter and I will be dreaming about those pickled cauliflower and olives. The steak quesadilla, short ribs, and duck fat fries were all 10s across the board. The service was incredible and the decor is lovely. I am looking forward to trying more of the menu and bringing family when they visit!
google avatar

Fazil A.

Yelp
We had an overall good experience here. Came in on a Friday at about 3pm and our server was great. He offered us suggestions that really hit. I ordered the burger and fries and a beer. It was 4.3 out of 5 stars. This decor gives English pub in the day and doesn't make promises it can't keep. Would recommend for chill vibes with positive aura.

Yelp
I happened to be back in Old Town this week and was looking to have dinner. I'd been to Virtue a few months ago, and while I had an excellent meal, I was looking to try something different. I walked around, going into a few restaurants to see what the ambience was like (Vola's - Chart House - Blackwall Hitch ) and checking the Yelp ratings. After about half an hour of walking around, I decided to go back to Virtue. I was craving a taco and ordered the Fried Shrimp tacos - I told them to hold the chips and salsa, and bring me a side of grits! I had a craving for those as well. Three savory tacos were served with Aioli sauce on the side, which I didn't use, as it wasn't needed. The fried coconut shrimp (2 on each of the 3 tacos) were a good size and perfectly fried. There was a generous portion of fresh, tangy cabbage slaw (with dressing) on top of the shrimp - it complimented the shrimp perfectly. The grits were Anson Mills stone ground grits. Get ready - these aren't your typical 'smooth creamy grits' you get with your breakfast waffles! These are 'dinner grits' - they're delicious, coarse yellow grits, speckled in appearance, with a rich corn flavor. The tacos and grits made an excellent combination for dinner! I'm glad I decided to go back to Virtue.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I met here for lunch. Our server was Nate the great and he was very welcoming and friendly. The service was timely, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere is perfect for any occasion. I absolutely love this restaurant. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Chris L.

Yelp
I haven't been here in awhile so thought I would give it a shot. I went for a late lunch and wasn't very busy. Guess I hit it before the dinner rush. I was seated quickly and server came up quickly. They have nice tabletops facing the bar and a couple TV's. It's also two levels with outdoors seating as well. I had the braised beef rib and mashed potatoes. It was good and came out in good amount of time. The only thing I noticed was there was no salt/pepper shakers on any tables. The dish I had was reasonably priced I guess for this area. I might go back and try their quesadilla. No big negatives on this restaurant
google avatar

Anthony S.

Yelp
This place was recommended by two friends in Alexandria and for good reason. Other restaurants would do well to model their service after here. - fantastic size, spacing, and aisle flow leading to comfort (not common in DC) - incredible food: we had the honey chili Brussels, crab dip, steak aus jus, and special short rib grilled cheese w tomato soup. Every bite was 10/10 - VERY refreshing spicy margarita. A great cocktail - service was kind and attentive Every aspect was a 10/10 and made us enjoy dining out. Thank you!
google avatar

Patrick M.

Yelp
We went there to celebrate a while back, and the ambiance was fantastic as it was an old building converted to a tavern. The food was great, and the service was top-notch. It is a perfect place to celebrate life and walk along the river after a meal.
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
We sat on the patio as we had our pup with us and the people watching off king street along with waterfront views can't be beat. Their menu selections are extensive so it was hard to choose but our starters ended up being our stand out items. The scotch eggs are divine and the soup of the day (butternut squash and pumpkin) was so festive and tasty. Sipping on their locally sourced hot cider was heart warming on a chilly day. The tuna salad was good and my husband enjoyed his sandwich. On other trips we've really enjoyed dining indoors for their amazing ambience and I love that at VFG you can choose between outdoors and indoors and both are uniquely lovely. Service was excellent as always and we can't recommend this restaurant more. Make a reservation if you can- it's popular!
google avatar

Yelp
Ambience: perfect for brunch, casual dining, and a first date spot Service: quick and informative Food: fantastic! Everything was cooked perfectly. The lobster bisque was creamy and full of corn, potatoes, lobster bits, and was savory with a bit of sweetness. It paired well with the garlic bread I ordered on the side. The garlic bread was toasted, but soft chewy inside. It was packed with buttery garlic taste. The crab cake Benedict was great! The crab cakes were full of crab and not too bready. The eggs were soft and runny! The hollandaise sauce was made on the side and it was creamy and tangy. The red fish was perfectly cooked to tender, juicy, and flakey. The orzo pasta was soft and tender. The fried green tomatoes were crispy and tangy. It was perfect for brunch. And the fried calamari was crispy and tender and not rock hard chewy! Cooked perfectly as well. It came with friend peppers and olives too. Which was perfect to cut some of the greasy from being fried! Would highly recommend.

Leland L.

Yelp
Came here for dinner on a Friday night and it was great! Service was really good, portions were large, and the restaurant has so much seating! We shared the Brussel sprouts and crab dip to start. We all really liked the crab dip, the Brussel sprouts had a nice hint of honey but needed some more seasoning. I got the virtue martini which was much sweeter than I was expecting, so wasn't my favorite. The shrimp and grits was my favorite part of the meal! It was a rich and flavorful dish. The French dip looked really good too!
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
Returned to this restaurant for dinner with colleagues, and it was just as amazing as I remembered! The ambiance is perfect, the occasion was great, and the food--especially the fish--was incredibly fresh. I almost wanted to lick the plate, but my manners held me back! This spot is always at the top of my list to recommend for anyone visiting or looking for a great place to eat in Old Town.
google avatar

Kris P.

Yelp
Amongst the vast array of options in beautiful Old Town, Virtue stands well. Promptly greeted and seated almost immediately, friendly too I may add, and on a weekend, menu choices run abound. I appreciate the consideration with vegan and GF alternatives. Wanting something simple and quick, I decided to go for a salad. I said simple and surely with clean ingredients, Virtue's spinach apple salad (feta on the side) was a great fit. 3 bites in, and well, I completely forgot to snap a photo... oopsies. So delicious, it didn't stand a chance lol. My visit was short and sweet, thankfully hassle free. I'll be sure to visit again when I'm in the area.
google avatar

Cherise M.

Yelp
The food here is always delicious and the service impeccable. We came here for lunch on a weekday and server Scott went above and beyond to create the best dining experience I've had in a long time. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and made special accommodations without being asked. Give that man a raise! We will be back for sure .
google avatar

Lili C.

Yelp
Great place, with great food, and is located in Old Town Alexandria. We were seated upstairs and enjoyed our meals. It was quite busy but seating options still made it feel intimate and we were in our own space. We had calamari for an appetizer and then two of us had short ribs and every bite just melted in your mouth! I cleaned that plate! ( in a demure fashion lol) My son ordered the burger and my other friend ordered the quesadilla. Another friend ordered cinnamon balls for dessert and we got to try them. It was too much cinnamon for us! Great for date night, solo, or with a group. Go check them out if you haven't!
google avatar

Michele B.

Yelp
A Gurlllaa gotta get a date So he suggested Virtue Now I don't normally allow the man to pick the Resturant....but life is about chances...so I'm taking a chance Walked up and the atmosphere is lively.. The outside is packed (not a table in sight) Even the dog bowls were full (lol dogs err where) The hostess greets with a smile and immediately ask what our dining preference is (patio/bar/dining room) We decided to sit upstairs near the bar. There are several large parties and it looks as if everyone is pleased Our server was excellent... greeting us, giving suggestions, special of the day and making sure we were tended to. Ordered the Beef short ribs.. tender and tasty Also the Rockfish... I was left speechless Both meals were prepared well I have no complaints... just recommendations for all to try them out
google avatar

Shayna H.

Yelp
A restaurant with a beautiful and unique interior in the heart of Old Town Alexandria. The food was brought out so fast I was worried it wouldn't taste fresh. Yet, everything was absolutely delicious. They also passed the water test. Never was there an empty glass of water on the table...not on their watch. It just proved how attentive the servers were.
google avatar

Kathy M.

Yelp
So I finally made it to Virtue Feed & Grain!!! I was just a tad bit disappointed.... I sat at the bar, it took the bartender at least 10 minutes to even notice me. She said she was going to get me water that I never received. I finally received a mend and made my order. My food and drink came out in a timely manner. It was just ok! Nothing to brag about... I had the brussels sprouts and calamari. The bar wasn't that busy so I'm not sure as to why the service was so bad!!! I do plan to return and give it another try
google avatar

Scarlett F.

Yelp
I want to first start by saying our service was 10/10. If I could rate that alone it was perfect, our guy Clay was genuinely an amazing guy. Sometimes you miss having good customer service like he gives so I would come back just to get his service again. The food was great but not perfect, the pasta with the scallops was a little heavy and the creamy quinoa wasn't flavorful. The Brussels were pretty good but the best thing was the scallops and the crab dip. The salmon was better than average. Overall a great experience!
google avatar

Tina I.

Yelp
Moved closer to old town and this was one of the places recommended to me multiple times so I had to go. Our server was super cool, polite, and even recommended some bomb opts. The ambiance was very subtle, not too noisy, good playlist and comfortable seating. S/o to the hostess for putting us NOT around the multiple families with kiddies lol. The food was good, the duck poutine was a good try but the gravy wasn't really givinggggg CANADA but the duck was cooked nicely. The lamb chops tho - FIRE. Will definitely be back on the weekend for brunch!

Yelp
Met up with two of my good friends for dinner and drinks. Here's what we had: **BASIL HAYDEN LEMON JULEP (me) **FISH TACOS + SOUTHWEST CAESAR SALAD (me) **BAKED MAC & CHEESE (me & t) **SHRIMP TACOS + DUCK FAT FRIES (t) **BRAISED SHORT RIBS (c) **SEMOLINA FRIED CALAMARI (c&t) I didn't have much of an appetite, but I did enjoy a few nibbles of food before I packed up my little to go containers. Everything was served piping hot, flavorful, and plenty to share. The service was superb. I'll definitely be back. NOTE: They're operating with a small kitchen. Some of the items are cooked in the same oil. Please inform your server of any allergies, so they can steer you in the right direction and offer another tasty option. __ I eat. @f.hux I thrift. @DCthriftish

Yelp
I came here solo and sat at the upstairs bar. The service was really quick but i didn't think they waiters were the friendliest. I got a lavender french 75 cocktail to start and it very str...ong. The croquettes were okay, i thought it was too much potato and not a lot of crab and shrimp. The sauce was delicious though. The short ribs were spectacular. It was soft, perfect lean/fat ratio, and the mushroom sauce was YUM. I kinda wish there was more mushroom slices just because i love mushrooms. The vegetables it came with was broccoli and it was cooked with so much garlic, it was so delish. I would get the short ribs again. This restaurant is extremely busy all the time so make sure to make a reservation in advance!

Yelp
What a cool spot! So happy we ventured into old town, this place was perfect and the surroundings were magical! Best steak salad I've had in a while. The combo of ingredients, pearfection! Quite upbeat but quick and easy service. Friendly staff.

Yelp
One of my favorite places for outdoor dining in Old Town! The food is always on point. My favorites are the Brussel sprouts and crab dips. The drinks are handcrafted and very tasty. I notice they make seasonal items for drinks and food as well. The servers are very attentive whenever we come. I even brought my dog for outdoor dining and they brought a menu for the dog, so cute!
google avatar

Travis A.

Yelp
Great dinner choice for our anniversary dinner. The restaurant is decorated really well and has very comfortable seating and is very inviting. The food was prepared very well. The short rib was AMAZING! It melted in your mouth and was full of flavor. Highly recommend. The calamari was also very well. The french rib sandwich was also good, i would just get it toasted next time if possible. The ambiance is nice but on a friday evening there was a loud group who you can tell was there for a after work thing and it got very loud but other then that it was a good experience

Yelp
My friend and I came here for brunch on Saturday around 1pm. We didn't have reservations and were able to be seated immediately inside. Trendy restaurant with seating inside & outside but it was too hot to sit outside. I got a diet coke and the loaded avocado toast without the red pepper flakes. It wasn't bad, little too much greens for me but good. My friend got the strawberry mimosa and the eggs benedict and she said it was really good. Our waiter was quick and surprisingly so was the food!

Yelp
Food, service and ambience were all very good. The cherry old fashioned was delightful and our server was very pleasant. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This place has been around forever and you can see why...they make great drinks that you can actually taste the alcohol. Tito's with ginger ale and a Bulleit Manhattan that was right on. Our server gave us space to enjoy our cocktails before ordering our meals. We had the pasta puttanesca with grilled cheese and the oven baked rockfish while I loved. We washed it down with a couple of Harvey & Harriet ( red blends). The decor is not he best, but it was worth check out.

Yelp
Food had great flavor and atmosphere was very upscale yet relaxing. Food came out very quick! Chicken tacos were amazing!!!! Service was not great and they weren't terribly busy. I don't recommend the Bloody Mary on brunch menu, but I do recommend the hibiscus Aperol Sprtiz!!!

Yelp
Cool place to grab a bite Jesse the water in downtown Alexandria. Make sure your come during the warmer months of the year so you can grab a table outside. The staff was very polite and was able to squeeze us without a reservation in during the early afternoon rush. Plenty of good local beers on tap but i need to come back for the bourbon. The food was delicious. If you're getting french fries, make sure you get the duck fries. So delicious.

Yelp
A win is a win! Got a weekend brunch at Virtue F&G, seated in their roomy, high-ceilinged second floor. The vibe was nicely sunny and rustic, a sports bar taking up one wall and a private reservable room to the side (there was a bridal shower going on), the signature skylight in the middle brightened up the place, and the service was quite attentive. For food! Maybe because of walking around in the sun and getting steadily hungrier, but the brunch menu was such a good deal. The duck fat poutine is a MUST from the apps, retained crisp quite well considering it was saturated with savory gravy and juicy duck meat. Others got the avocado toast (a lot of arugula and hard boiled eggs on a plain thick white sandwich bread, which were fine but nothing spectacular) and the breakfast burrito, which was a solid mix of all the hearty potato-egg-chicken goods. Hack is to dip the other menu items in the duck fat gravy !! Forgot to mention the drinks--kinda pricy for the size but the mimosas were fruity, sweet, n strong. rec the strawberry kiss!

Yelp
Such a cool place several of us went there for evening meal and I didn't take pictures of everything I forgot, but my mac & cheese was wonderful. I enjoyed the fried green tomatoes. The mac & cheese has some good flavor to it. I would definitely get that again. I'll probably get the tomatoes again also. Very lively place, best to make reservations. cool bar, saloon style, pretty chill.

Yelp
We tried Virtue Feed and Grain with a reservation on a Thursday night - it was pretty empty so we probably didn't need the reservation. We started off with one of their specials for appetizers, the queso fundido- which was really good! For mains, we had the steak quesadilla, the chicken BLT wrap, and the salmon. I would say overall the mains weren't bad by any means, but they weren't special or great. I probably wouldn't come back for the food, but the service and ambiance was very nice, it was an upscale American restaurant. I prefer Blackwall Hitch's food

Yelp
We had a great date night here! Our server, Bryan, was super attentive and friendly, and gave lots of recommendations. We ordered some cocktails which were tasty - their martini and old fashioned. We got the fried calamari for an appetizer which were crispy and not chewy. We also ordered the filet mignon and the scallops & shrimp chowder. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. The food was great, the service was great, loved our little corner where we sat, and the ambiance was wonderful. Big fan - can't wait to go back for another special night out!

Yelp
Came for a work dinner and sampled quite a bit of the menu. Our items: Smoked Gouda mac & cheese, roasted brussels sprouts, teriyaki wings, Rigatoni & vodka sauce, fried green tomatoes, calamari, and pasta puttanesca. We also ordered The Bees Knees cocktail, a hibiscus martini, the flourless chocolate cake, and fried donut centers. The mac and cheese was very creamy and seasoned well. The smokey flavor was a little too rich for me, so I passed it off to a coworker to keep. The pasta puttanesca was too spicy for me. When red chili flake was listed, I suppose I underestimated how much of an ingredient it would be. I am super sensitive, so I had to send it back and exchange it for the rigatoni with vodka sauce. I'm pretty sure most people love red chili flake a lot more than I do, so I don't believe it was a quality issue. The fried green tomatoes, calamari, wings, and brussels sprouts were all good. Out of them, I would recommend the tomatoes or the teriyaki wings most. The tomato batter was seasoned quite well. The wings were more of a soy sauce based sauce than teriyaki, but I may just prefer something a little sweeter than some folks would prefer. They were still quite good. The brussels sprouts were a sort of odd flavor. I'm not sure what was missing for me, but I couldn't give them a 10/10. Once I exchanged my food, I was super happy with the rigatoni and vodka sauce. Virtue really did a great job with the vodka sauce. It had all the creaminess you could want, with a good bit of flavor packed in. The Italian sausage in it was lovely, as well. Our waitress warned us that the drinks would be pretty strong. We are not big drinkers, so the Bees Knees slapped us right in the teeth. My hibiscus martini tasted like perfume. The waitress warned me that I should add some raspberry liquor in it, so I did, but I still could not believe how strong it was! Virtue will give you your money's worth for the cocktails. The service was good, and our waitress was very attentive to drinks and water. Someone at our table was drinking water like a fish and she kept his glass full nonstop. Virtue is really not the type of restaurant I'd pick for a personal meal, but we enjoyed our server humoring us and providing good service for our rowdy table.
