Yelp
I used to love this place, but unfortunately it's not what it used to be. Still good, but no longer great.
Let's start with the PROs:
We went to celebrate a birthday and the chef brought out a little birthday cake which was incredibly thoughtful. It was wasn't a dessert I was keen on, but my husband enjoyed it and the presentation was beautiful. The bussers are amazing here! They're so attentive to clearing your table, keeping your water filled, and being polite. The restaurant is clean and comfortable.
Cons: bread "service" that is $10 for 5 small slices of sour dough bread that were full of holes as most SD bread is, but when it says service, you'd think it's bottomless to some extent. Nope. Salted butter still remains delicious, but the old rolls were top notch. This new bread was very underwhelming. The waitress was great at the start, but once our order was in, she disappeared and I was basically through my entire meal before I found her to ask for salt and pepper. Our dessert came out, but one was completely forgotten. Again, couldn't find our server. The place isn't that big so what on earth - where was she?! We got a busser to get our server and apparently she thought we wanted the check, so she brought us that. When I mentioned the dessert was missing, she was barely apologetic. She took it off the bill (& still didn't bring it) and brought a tasting portion of one of the missing items, but I feel like when you're sitting there for 15-20 min with no dessert and no sign of your waitress, something should be comped at that point. It was disappointing that I picked this place to celebrate my birthday and was embarrassed instead.
