Excellent quality food that was beautifully presented. Friendly staff. Knowledgeable sommelier. Not particularly Italian but that was okay for me.

We were in Bamberg for one night and walked through the beautiful town when it suddenly started to rain. To scape rain we went to this elegant and nicely decorated restaurant. The waiter who took care of us was friendly and attendant and the food and wine was exquisite. If in Bamberg, you have to try this place.

We arrived rather late after driving from Venice and this place was a real treat. The service was quick, and kind and they were flexible in providing reduced portions for our kids that do not eat that much. I had the Pork Belly with kimchi, and it was amazingly good. I would return again if I were in Bamberg.

EDIT: so it seems vita has responded to my review. They mention a couple of points which Id like to address. First off they state costs are going up and accuse me of using "discounted business lunch offers from colleagues". Id like to point out I do not review company paid dinners and compared them to Michelin star Restaurants in Germany that were located in larger more expensive cities, which I also reviewed. Furthermore this visit I paid for the dinner for me and my friend and am more than willing to upload a receipt. As I said their staff wasn't bad but simply not interested, nothing more nothing less. As for the food poisoning this is my experience, My account is full of reviews for reputable establishments and high end cuisine I don't see the need to lie. THE DATE ISSUE: The owner says I did not review the place till later on. Unfortunately I have been busy with work and travels and have not had time, I take detailed notes of all the high end restaurants I eat at. The exact date I ate here was July 4th 2023, I stayed in Bamberg for 2 days. You can see on my account that I have only recently reviewed a number of places all around Germany, including in Bamberg. Also on that account you can see various Michelin star restaurants and high end establishments globally that I have accurately reviewed. My review for Vita remains the same I do not review based on external factors. The review for the owner however is 0 stars, snarky and rather presumptuous. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I will say that Vita Bamberg was a interesting visit. The servers were nice and attentive but did not seem very interested. The Ambiance: The Restaurant is situated in a quite cove of Bamberg making it a nice place to eat dinner. We tried a number of the dishes and while some were well plated others were an attempt to plate. The food was okay, there was nothing notable about the dishes. My experience here ended in food poisoning. This was unfortunate considering the exorbitant pricing they charged. The vast majority of Michelin restaurants I have been to charge less per dish than Vita. Overall I would not recommend dining here. Your experience may be different but unfortunately mine was quite poor. The Restaurant redeems some points in ambiance and cleanliness but the food poisoning and well above market pricing means I would not recommend it.

One of the best carbonara I've had in Germany. A bit spicy, a bit salty, a bit bitter even, perfect texture. Tiramisu was also great, light and alcoholic. Service was really nice and attentive, unfortunately not a common experience in Germany yet. Sit in the charming Hof if you get the chance.

Disappointing, having read the reviews I expected something special. Service was professional but presentation and taste was extremely underwhelming. Starter, Carapaccio Gambero Rosso, first taste was intense salt and lemon, luckily the salt was not as intense all over, but unfortunately the lemon and salt overpowered the carapaccio and left me wondering had I ordered vegetarian. Main course, veal knuckle, cooked really tender and served on a thin bed of puréed potato with sprinkles of caramelised onion but in a deep baking tray like bowl and coated with an over powering thick gravy. This tasted like pub carvery, perhaps the pasta is better.

10 stars for us. Last night in Bamberg & my fiancé chose this amazing restaurant Beautiful evening & our experience was made even better by our kind & knowledgeable server, Sophiee - she is amazing & recommended excellent choices! The Baba Ghanoush appetizer is so delicious! Tagliolini Tiger prawns for me & home made veal ravioli for my fiancé. Fantastic flavors & we made sure to save room for dessert - Sophiee had recommended the cheesecake with crumbles & strawberries- we tried to eat it very slowly- the BEST! what a wonderful experience & perfect meal for our last evening in this stunning city.

I have had the pleasure to dine here twice this year and have always been impressed with their service, seasonal menu, and excellent wine selection. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Really good. Unusual recipes. Great home made bread. Central location. Staff is knowledgeable and nice. A bit pricey but not expensive for the quality of the food. Recommended.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und wurde schnell serviert. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Auch unserer Tochter (9) hats gefallen.

My fave italian place in bamberg. Great pizza (carpaccio) and grilled squid. Very sweet staff. Authentic and satisfying.
