"The 38th location of Vitality Bowls, a San Ramon-based chain of “superfood” cafes, has opened on Paseo Padre Parkway, the East Bay Times reports. Its menu includes panini, smoothies, and fruit-based bowls intended to help those suffering from food-based allergies." - Eve Batey

Google
Friendly staff and a good variety of menu options all focused on fresh, healthy ingredients. Service is usually pretty fast, given they make your order on the spot rather than serving pre-made items so you know your foods going to be fresh.

Google
Been here twice, got a power protein shake, a matcha madness shake, and the vitality wrap. Food is really good and ingredients are super fresh! Also really affordable. A smoothie for under $10?! In this economy?! You better Werq.

Google
They're the cheapest out of all the vitality bowls in the bay area. My acai bowl tasted water down and they skimp on toppings.

Elliott Coker

Google
Always good food. I wish I could afford to eat here every day.

"There were ants on the countertops and tables, and the place was a mess. I had a breakfast wrap, and the lettuce inside was literally baked and burnt my tongue. The food didn’t smell good. The only good thing was the people—they were nice, but overall, it was not a good experience."

Loved the Island bowl. A little pricey but it was delicious.

Google
Our preschool absolutely loves celebrating birthdays with Vitality Bowl! The bowls and smoothies are a huge hit with the kids, creating a festive and healthy atmosphere. The joy on their faces as they enjoy the delicious and nutritious treats is priceless. Vitality Bowl has become our go-to choice for a delightful and health-conscious celebration. Five stars all the way!

Google
This is a great place to go with family or by your self. As soon as our plane landed we were starving and decided to come here. Best decision ever! This place has healthy and good quality food for kids and adults.

Leah A.

Yelp
This is the most solid acai bowl in the area! I love eating this fruity treat, especially when I'm sick and I have no energy to make myself something fruity. If I'm getting an acai bowl in this area, it's from here! I usually order online and then pick up for speed :)

Trinh P.

Yelp
$10 for a smoothie is crazy. I feel like they don't use fresh ingredients. I've had better tasting smoothies for a fraction of the price. Great service though I called in and they had my drink ready when I arrived. Also have an option to order online/ app. Plenty of parking.

Katarina R.

Yelp
Gotta love a good açaí bowl on a hot day! Vitality bowls is my go-to when it comes to a refreshing açaí bowl. Local, quick, and delicious. When you enter, it's inviting and modern. I usually take it to go since it's a bit warm inside (not sure if they have AC). I've never had a problem with service or quality and their ingredients are always fresh which is important! I've also had a couple of their juices in the past which are also delightful. I definitely want to try one of their protein bowls or paninis soon.

Yelp
Get loaded with some bowls of vitality! Açaí, pitaya, graviola - they all sound so foreign but trust that they're nutritious and tasty! Despite being located at a region of the mall that seem like it's own island, there were a steady flow of customers coming in to get their vitality charged up. Parking is simple and abundant in this part of the mall. The place is clean and upon entering, you'll see some lit up menus, a few sit down tables and a few standing tables. The order counter is somewhat oddly organized with a fridge in the middle filled with water bottles and juice and another counter for what seemed like for ordering bowls of cooked food toward the end. At the time of our visit, they were running a promotion where you could get a choice of 3 bowls for $30 - mix and match among the vitality, nutty or tropical flavors. You can switch out ingredients for others if you'd like (e.g., instead of goji berries, we got chocolate chips). In addition to the deal, we used the app to get an extra discount (Yelp also offered a check in offer that we saved for next time). Also if you bring a magazine or book to donate, you can get one dollar off your order. I thought the book donation was a great idea! The server was very friendly and patient. Being our first time, we had no idea what to order or how it all worked so having her guide us through the options was helpful. While you wait for them to make your bowl, there's a TV that abruptly loses connection intermittently but you can watch most of what's going on. Otherwise just enjoy the free wifi available here or soak in the scenery outside (the parking lot). I noticed a few folks who dined in had their vitality in metal bowls. Take out orders got paper bowls. If you dine in, there's also water available (looked to be infused with lemon). Overall, this was a wonderful experience - you really can't go wrong with any of the flavors (they all kind of taste the same) - it's refreshing regardless. It's a nice snack or a light meal with some antioxidant and vitamin C benefits. Do give the vitality bowls a try and see for yourself what the craze and fad is all about!

Shirley M.

Yelp
I like this place a lot - don't come here often since I'm not a huge açaí bowl person but when I do they don't disappoint. Got a good-sized bowl for about $12 (it's cheaper if you use their coupon deals and order more), and it tasted refreshing without being too syrupy sweet. I prefer bowls at this place to ones like Jamba Juice for sure. Pretty spacious space if you want to chill here for breakfast, or meet up with a friend for a rendezvous. Parking is plentiful too, which helps. I'm not a big cold breakfast eater so won't be coming here too often but for those who are, I can see this being a huge hit! Good service and ambiance throughout.

Juan M.

Yelp
This place is delicious. It has fast service and generally is a good experience. We've tried a mix of different bowls as well as some of their sandwiches and it's a good experience every time.

Kristy S.

Yelp
I went to this location after my workout on a Sunday morning looking for a yummy green juice. I've been needing one since I've been eating out a lot. I've been to the other Vitality Bowls location in Fremont and I had a great experience. I paid $8.50 for a regular Detoxifier and it tasted and looked bad. Service was fast but they seemed to have not taken the time to make a good green juice. This location was more spacious than the one in Fremont which I liked. Overall, I wouldn't go back to this location due to the fact that I wasted my money on a horrible drink.

Roneil S.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years and this place has always been super fast with their service and gets your items to you quickly and prepared. The customer service quick, there's not much conversation other than just ordering your bowl or food. I've been ordering the nutty bowl and warrior bowl in the past. It never disappoints and is always executed the same. I must give them credit for always being consistent and on time.

Kristina L.

Yelp
I got the small vitality bowl. It's solid and hits the spot and has a yummy toppings and is a good portion. I do however prefer acai that is much more concentrated in flavor. The place was cute and clean and has lots of other options (I've had smoothies from other locations and they're good). The staff is super nice and speedy.

Andrea S.

Yelp
Always a good experience here! Their bowls, coffee and matcha are so delicious. My favorite place to come in the morning or for an afternoon pick me up. Such a wonderful place, very nice service and ambiance. Love it here!

Rob P.

Yelp
Customer service is so good!!! My first time trying their green juice!!! Good place to get something to eat like a panini or acai bowl and juice or smoothie after going for a job at Lakeshore

Lore M.

Yelp
Really enjoyed my vitality acai bowl, fresh ingredients. Good customer service. The menu has alot of great options. Pretty spacious and clean inside, they have tv and books read. Its a cool chill spot to enjoy some healthy treats.

Shine S.

Yelp
It's Positive ABC's at this VitalityBowls, Newark Awesome Bowls Clean Diner, Excellent Friendly etc.....

Makayla L.

Yelp
The steak was weird don't get it... but the dragon smoothie was great! Also got some ginger shots and those were good! Had to update to 2stars. My coworker is feeling really sick from the gray steak.

Dorothy L.

Yelp
Big açaí bowls but not enough fruit or toppings compared to the bottom liquidy part. Bowls: i tried the large vitality bowl and the detox bowl. The vitality bowl had super good toppings and the blended juice part was also super good. However, one thing that I was disappointed about was how little toppings they gave compared to the size of the bowl. As for the detox bowl, I added extra granola at the bottom for an extra charge and they barely gave enough granola. The blended juice part was also a bit bland and had no flavor :/ Overall, great tasting açaí bowls but would prefer better balanced proportions for the price. This review is solely for delivery, I never actually been to the physical restaurant

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
This particular Vitality Bowls is located in the Westlake Lido Faire Shopping Center in Newark. It is kind of hidden in the plaza, as it is away from the main stores and restaurants, but there is plenty of parking in the big plaza. It is a bit pricey, but it is a good healthy alternative/option for a snack. I was intrigued by their acai bowls, paninis, and smoothies, but I decided to keep it simple with one of their acai bowls for this visit. I tried the Breakfast Bowl which includes acai, bananas, granola, honey, strawberries, and VB blend - I added whole milk to it as well. It was very creamy and a good in between breakfast and lunch snack. It tastes kind of funny if you do not eat it all in one sitting when you first get it, so make sure to eat it fresh.

Juliet M.

Yelp
Love the açaí bowls and smoothies here, they are always good even when the weather is cold, they make a great meal replacement when dieting. I always get the vitality bowl which is açaí based, they have others with different toppings but this one is my favorite. Compared to açaí at home they add something like honey to it to give it a smoother and better taste, decently I asked for it with granola on the side and recommend the same if you don't plan on eating it all in one sitting. Smoothies are great too and I love how they list the calories on the website and in the store.

Shreyoa A.

Yelp
The bowl was not at all good. In name of bowl they are just serving acai. Quantity and quality of granola and fruits in it is really less.

Connie Y.

Yelp
Their banana + nut over açaí bowls are quite good! Super refreshing on a hot day, and when I'm just a little hungrier

Rika C.

Yelp
Probably the best VB in the Bay Area. The staff is sweet and attentive. They really stand by their service and products here. A lot of other VB's advertise that they take food allergies and sensitivities seriously but they don't . This VB however does and I'm thankful to have found them. The quantity/quality in products seems right unlike some others who taste watered down or skimpy. It is pricy but at least they do it right ! I'm a regular and I go out of my way to go this location just because of the service.

Silvia G.

Yelp
Great bowls! I come here for a breakfast or after a workout. I haven't tried anything outside of the blended bowls.

Jay S.

Yelp
great bowls always come here for great food. highly reccomend. custober setbice is great

Angela P.

Yelp
pros: -clean establishment with plenty of tables (low and high tables) -quick service -offers mobile orders for pickup -yummy acai base (not too sweet or under blended) cons: -fruit toppings ARE VERYYYY sparse; order had bananas and strawberries even though i substituted bananas for strawberries, the strawberries STILL wasn't enough. -pricey

Christy M.

Yelp
Super fast service and my Vitality bowl was yummy. Easy parking, a huge menu, and the guy that helped me was so nice and friendly.

Jasmyn F.

Yelp
Overall this location is OK. Food is decent. Staff is decent. However, it is nothing special or out of this world. I get the "Dragon Bowl." It's definitely on the sweet side, I enjoy it but I wouldn't recommend it to someone who isn't big on sweets. The organic goji berries have a great taste but man are they chewy! Each small berry gets stuck in your teeth and they are very sticky. Have floss and a tooth brush ready!

Kevin W.

Yelp
Bowls took a tad longer to make than expected considering there was just 1 other order ahead of us. Price is a huge negative. 2 açaí bowls costing $32 is ridiculous. That inflation and price hike is no joke. Not sure it's worth that kind of money.

Angel Z.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of Vitality Bowls. Glad that there's two of these locations near me, one in Fremont and Newark. This location in Newark seems to offer a lot more menu-wise compared to the one in Fremont. Along with the typical offerings, this location has a coffee bar . Love their acai bowls, smoothies, and salads. Quality of the bowls here has always been consistent and affordable, just as good as other locations. However, their coffee bar (espresso, drips) and paninis are just alright. The Lattes are a bit on the disappointing since they mostly taste like coconut milk mixed with an abundance of sugar. Got the Matcha Latte and could not taste a hint of matcha in it. But all is forgiven since, after all, this is an acai bowl place and not a specialized cafe. If you're looking for something healthy and affordable, I would say Vitality Bowls is a great option. Would come back to try their Oatmeal Bowl, juices, soup and Superfood Waffle (which always seems to be out of stock). Recommended: Enjoymint Bowl (December Special), Dragon Bowl, Pitaya Punch Smoothie, Tropical Bowl, Kids Bowl, Organic Kombucha Would pass on: their paninis in general, Matcha Latte, Hot Cacoco, Matcha Madness Smoothie

Bernadette D.

Yelp
I did an online order through their app I ordered a vitality wrap which is vegetarian It sucks because I was super hungry in the area so why not but when I got home & took a couple bites I realized they put steak in my wrap I immediately spit it out I called to complain & the girl told me I had to wait 10 mins for her manager to come in. No one communicated with me so I called to see what's going on. Then I was told I had to wait until the next day for the owner to do refund. I think this was absolutely ridiculous. It should be that hard to get a refund. for that I will not be coming back to vitality bowl. I do not trust them!!!!!

Ngoc P.

Yelp
Okay, this is expensive and hipster but I gotta give it to them - the açaí bowls are good. I gave in and I don't mind one bit at all. After a weekend of eating badly and just feeling absolutely terrible from the effects from eating badly, I knew I needed something to rejuvenate my body. So, I was scrolling for something healthy on Uber Eats and found this place. It has vitality bowls and it has smoothie, just what I needed. I got the breakfast açaí bowl and I was only going to have a bite or two then save for later but nope, I gobbled it all up in one sitting. I got the smoothie. It was good but a little too sour for my liking, I would've liked a tad more sweetness. I def would come back once in a while but not all the time because it will def break my bank.

Michelle R.

Yelp
First time trying this place out. Stopped by since we were in the area looking for some food. We ended up ordering the following: The Dragon Smoothie - this smoothie has guava juice, dragonfruit, mango, strawberries and raspberries. This tasted alright. It was kind of bland for my taste. Tropical Paradise- mango juice, pineapple, organic açaí, coconut milk, strawberries and bananas. Love how this tasted. It was really good. Roasted Turkey Panini - mozzarella cheese, natural turkey, spinach, sun dried tomatoes, Dijon, pesto. Avocado Toast - has smashed avocado, olive oil, fresh lemon, pink Himalayan salt and hemp seeds served on whole wheat bread. Sweet Maui Onion chips - was way to salty for my taste. Overall service and food was good. I will have to come back when I'm in the area.

Enid G.

Yelp
The worker helped me tremendously today as I had never been to a vitality bowl before. Walked away with a bowl and an avocado toast. Looks delish. Can't wait to post pics. Thank you!

Chu D.

Yelp
Came back again because we wanted to try their bowls!! Helen in the front was a sweetheart! I'm glad we came back to try again. We got 4 bowls from a buy one get one free deal from FB. I ordered a dragon bowl and it was sooo amazing! You'll have to try it out to know what I mean.

Maria N.

Yelp
Was looking for organic juice or smoothies and stumbled upon Vitality Bowls on Door Dash. The pitaya punch seems pretty popular so I went with it. However, the drink is pretty watered down. A little disappointed at the quality. The tropical paradise also only tasted like bananas. :/

Gladys Anne ..

Yelp
Every time I come here, I always order the Medium Vitality Bowl and would substitute the Goji berries with blueberries instead. I went here last week and they were able to do that but now this lady says she has to charge me for it even if I want to just replace the Goji berries with it. So which is it? Will I be charged again next time or not? I feel like the management needs to make that clear with all their employees so they're all on the same page with it. I told the lady it's fine but I don't want the Goji berries and she didn't even add it to the receipt so I had to reorder the blueberries on a separate transaction. Very inconvenient..

Manny G.

Yelp
Nice staff, Great bowls. and a nice location.

Kavya T.

Yelp
Items: have tried the dragon bowl and the nutty bowl and both were delicious--I have a feeling you can't go wrong with any of the bowls really... Tried their paninis and grilled cheese--they're decent. Service could be better!

Anonymous J.

Yelp
I've been to other locations several times, but yesterday I decided to try this one. I ordered the go green smoothie. It wasn't blended well at all; the flavor of almond milk was dominate and I didn't expect to be chewing my smoothie. As I got on the freeway nearby, it seemed as if I sipped on a piece of hair or something. I was pretty grossed out, but needed to focus on the roadway. My stomach was upset after the few sips I had, which is not the norm for me. Never again.

P A.

Yelp
Solid 4 stars, customer service was great, taste and perceived quality was excellent. Price is on the high side.

Princess J.

Yelp
Worst service ever. Over priced smoothies. I only went here because Pure Juice bar in Union city closed. For the price of one drink I could've gotten of an açaí bowl and fresh juice at Pure Juice. I asked them for a good recommendation or best seller. They recommend a dragon fruit drink tasted like trash and was water down.

Angela C.

Yelp
Love love everything this place represents. No added sugar. So many good fruits and veggies. Fruits ive never even heard of!! Super yummy bowls. Organic Kombucha! Wish this was next door my house, I'd be here everyday. Worth the higher price because of the quality ingredients used. No skimping here. Clean eating so you don't feel guilty afterwards. Filling too! Oh and 10% off check-in from yelp? Yesplease. I've tried their kombucha , they have 3 diff flavors on tap which is pretty awesome! Just tried their graviola bowl today (first time hearing of this graviola fruit) and it was delish and beautifully put together. What an awesome post workout treat! (Oasis fitness in the same plaza)

Nicole M.

Yelp
The smoothie tastes like nothing - no flavor tastes like water .... got the tropical one The panini was regular bread and some nasty chicken along with inedible sun dried tomatoes .... way too chewy ... wayyy over priced for 13.50 for a sandwich and smoothie that's tastes like water

Verna K.

Yelp
Daughter had a craving and a bit surprised that they gave her less for more $$ than the ones in the Pleasanton area. The exterior needed some TLC, and the interior needed a good scrubbing too, but it satisfied an immediate need.

Ryan J.

Yelp
OHHH YAAASSSS! I've been looking for an awesome Acai Bowl place near me and this has to be it! I've always been a fan of eating healthy, but finding places that are worth it are tough. The last place I went to was Bowl of Heaven, but trust me this is much better and waaay more worth it! That place charges you like $9 for a small cup of smoothie and 1 strawberry cut into quarters...cmon man! My friend Ryan SM, introduced me to this location and I got the large Vitality Bowl because I just got out of my workout. When it arrived, this thing was HUGE and LOADED with toppings! Omg such a huge plus for me! You are guaranteed to get lots of fruits or granola in every bite. And the smoothie base tastes great too. I love the big metal bowls for presentation just because it stands out from the typical paper/plastic cups you see everywhere else. I'm a huge fan and will definitely be coming back soon to try their other flavors!

Rachel F.

Yelp
I love this place and their acai bowls!! probably the best acai bowls I have ever tried. I always get the dragon bowl/vitality bowl & my bf always get the warrior bowl. Both really delicious and refreshing!! I have tried their sirloin panini before, very disappointing. It was flavorless and just unsatisfying to eat..I recommend to just go for their acai bowls and smoothies!! 1 star off for the cashier/server. She wasn't friendly at all, seems like she didn't want to work there lol. And when she gave us our bowls, she literally just put it on our table w/o telling us which is which bc they are in a tray..we literally had to ask her and she was just like "yeah they're placed correctly". But its eh, I would still come back for their bowls.

Sunil R.

Yelp
I try to eat healthy when I can and am a fan of Vitality Bowls since they are healthy and tasty (these are mutually exclusive in most places) especially the acai bowls. I made a stop here while I am driving past this area. Was a little annoyed that no one answered when I called to place a pick up order. All good... was hoping to still make a quick stop and leave with a Nutty Bowl with Almond Butter. Big mistake. Was super slow and took 25 mts to get my order and they were not that busy. It was good bowl but wish they were faster.

Juana B.

Yelp
Customer service here is top notch.. I am very picky with my toppings and they accommodate all painful changes including putting few items on side. Atmosphere in store is laid back exactly how I like it. I love having my bowl and reading books from the shelf right next to TV... Also they give 1$ off each time I bring old book to leave in the shelf... Free flavoured water with fresh fruits and veggies is super plus...

Miliza T.

Yelp
I go here with friends after the gym for a "healthy" meal. it's been consistently good as far service and flavors go. i've pretty much tried all the flavors and liked all of them, im not a picky eater. small parking lot, but it attaches to another plaza - it's not a far walk. the bowls itself are pretty pricey but the ingredients they put in there arent cheap either, so i see the reason why. download the app, especially if you are a frequent visitor, you get rewards for each dollar spent and will get some coupons along the way as well.

Dhiviya D.

Yelp
We ordered the below custom juices over the phone and picked them up: 1. Intensifier - apple + beetroot + ginger 2. Rejuvenator- carrot + apple + beetroot 3. Rehydrator - pineapple + mint + coconut water All of them were amazing! Perfect taste and we kept wanting to have more.

Wendy K.

Yelp
My experience was more of a 3.5 star, but since the bowl was awesome I'll give it a four star. When I went in this morning, there were two customers already waiting for their order. After a brief wait, the employee did inform me that she'd be right with me. She handed one of the customers her meal. Then, instead of continuing to make the gentleman's order, she waited on me. Mistake! She didn't process my debit card correctly and charged it to "Eat 24". At first we weren't sure if my account was charged or not, but then she looked at the receipt to verify. In the meantime, she took about three minutes to figure out how to print the voided receipt. I decided to just go online and verify that I hadn't been charged. So I was o.k. with the transaction and had her ring me up. So, by the time she was finished with me, the poor guy was out of about eight minutes. They have about twelve different bowls from which to choose. There are also different "power ups" for an additional charge - bee pollen, peanut butter, kale, ginko, etc. I decided on the Oatmeal bowl (oats, organic acai, almond milk and cinnamon topped with bananas, slivered almonds, goji berries and honey). For $5.95, you get a 14-oz bowl. However, I think the cashier might have made another mistake because my bowl says 16-oz.. For me 16-ozs is too much. I was able to eat half before I felt full. This bowl is also very delicious. I will be back to try the graviola bowl.
