I work down the street at a volunteer dental office, and dropped by on a hot day to pick up a smoothie. I love the fact that Viva La Boba promotes other small businesses in the area with their business card wall. I came on a slower mid-afternoon shift, and so the drink was made quickly! Tasted as great as they advertised on the "Barista's Recommendations." Being part of downtown, there was street parking available, but I'd imagine if I came at a busier time, it may be hard to find parking! Definitely will be back!

Google
Such a cute little place loved the inside and how it looked..BUT as we had placed our order we were told they don’t take cash. We were so disappointed cause we didn’t have any other payment method. We were bothered cause what place doesn’t take cash and we didn’t get to try their items due to that. Might come back but not sure yet. Wish them the best though. Love the location!

Google
This is THE place for all boba or in my case matcha needs. Forget Starbucks’ matcha, and that’s coming from an ex barista ;) I NEED one of those cute matcha hats! Congrats on Redlands branch but my fav will be the downtown San Bernardino one with the little free library.

Update #2 11-29 These ladies are rockstar! Always and I mean always friendly, chatty and beautiful. This must be the happiest place to work because it shows in their demeanor. I love this small business and will always support it, and in my opinion you should too!. Update: 9-26 Dropped by again and what can I say? Another great experience, the Banana Cream Pie with Boba was delicious and the lovely lady behind the counter was awesome. Cannot recommend enough. It reminds me of a small little college coffee shop where artistic and intelligent conversations can be had. It's quaint, comfortable and a great place to just chill in downtown San Bernardino. The beautiful young woman behind the counter was very warm and friendly. Honestly a sweetheart with an incredible smile. She recommended the strawberry banana smoothie and she was right. It was delicious! I recommend some strawberry popping Boba thrown in for that little extra sweetness.

I love Viva La Boba! This Boba shop makes me smile. The drinks are fantastic and the atmosphere is awesome. Plus the menu is fun and unique! I have been twice and can't wait to return. A friend of mine recently treated me to the Iced Coffee at Viva La Boba and it was amazing! If you like coffee, you have to try it. I highly recommend this delicious Boba shop!

Nice cafe. AC felt good on a hot day. Drinks were good. Service was friendly. The bathroom was nice 👍 free parking on the road. They have coffee cookies smoothies and more.

Google
I loved this place. The brown sugar Boba was well cooked, and flavorful! I ordered the Thai tea w/ oat milk, and my wife ordered the green tea w/ oat milk. The teas were both not very sweet, which I liked! They serve drinks with plastic free sugarcane straws! And if you bring your own container, you can get a 10% discount! That's awesome. The interior art is great. I love that they're embracing San Bernardino with a mural of the city inside, and Mexican style art. They are women owned and the staff were super friendly! I will be back with friends.

Google
Super yummy I love the taro literally tastes like fruity pebbles to me at least. Customer service was super lovely. She was super nice and understanding. I don’t recommend the cold brews unless you love bitter/sour coffee. Prices here are kinda pricey if you’re willing to pay 7 bucks for a small.

Yelp
amazing establishment, been coming for years when it was just the downtown sb location so proud of how they've grown already. love how inviting, inclusive, and interactive this place is with the community. forever a stan

Yelp
In the sad and rather dilapidated downtown of San Bernardino, Viva La Boba stands out as a fighting chance for local small businesses. I ordered iced green tea with popping boba and jelly of lychee flavor, which tasted normal and good. The barista gave me the right amount of ice. It is a cute and quaint establishment. Drinks are not terribly expensive. Highly recommend it. On a side note: Dont know why downtown San Bernardino has so many closed shops which are a shame and sad to see. Will come back to Viva La Boba.

Yelp
The barista Mia makes the most Delicious bobas that girl deserves a raise 10/10 !! Definitely recommend going

Yelp
First time visiting this place. My friend and her family come here sometimes so I'm glad I came with them. Cute space and loved their Matchata with boba pearls. The drink was bomb !

Yelp
Super rude employee. Dirty looks right when my party of 5 walked in. We should have walked out but we still spent our hard earned money. I don't even remember what I ordered but she didn't put any ice, the drink was room temp and gross. I guess we were beneath her and didn't deserve basic respect, customer service or a good drink. Simple hello and thank you is fine. But I didn't appreciate the dirty looks and the room temp drink.

Ari Z.

Yelp
Staff was very rude a male and female did not say hello when we walked in even after I said hello super awkward. Finally after a few seconds they said if we had a questions to let them know. My husband asked if they had a coffee milk tea boy acted confused as if he's never been to any other boba spot. I was so annoyed with how condescending they acted I ended up telling my husband for us to go. Very disappointed. Staff need coaching .

Yelp
Just went here recently and my favorite drink is the Thai Tea with coffee jelly!! I order it half sweet since that's how I usually order drinks and it comes out at the perfect level of sweetness. The baristas are super nice and the inside is really clean. I LOVE coming here, highly recommend everyone check it out!! (It helps that the owners are amazing and super community focused)

Yelp
Yeah maybe update your hours and state that you're gonna be taking a lunch break in the middle of the day until 4:30. Wtf? I wanted to get something to pick me up during my break from work and wasted my time of course I didnt stay and there were others who saw the sign and left too lol. I won't be coming back here again, super messy. Losing business cause yall can't manage paying enough employees to keep shop open. The boba is mid anyway lmao.

Yelp
I live in Vegas and came here in September on my drive home. The cafe is so cute inside-- I LOVED the Polaroids of all the cute dogs. As an animal lover, this made me so happy to see. The service was great and my boba was super delicious. I ordered my favorite, a brown sugar boba. The pearls were cooked perfectly with an excellent chew. I can't wait to stop here again on my next trip to California.
google avatar

Marleny M.

Yelp
The first time I went to this place I ordered an horchata boba and it was delicious! The service was fast and the place was quite cute! I would definitely go back again! They only accept card NO CASH!!!

Yelp
This place is a local staple. The atmosphere is great . Love the mural of the of San Bernardino local streets especially seeing ny street on there . My go to order has to be there brown sugar milk tea with extra boba , there boba is always freshly made. Aslo try there strawberry matcha and banana cream smoothie.

G G.

Yelp
The place is convenient but the drink is never made correctly. They need more than 1 worker. Getting a drink or 2 shouldn't take 20 minutes. The worker always seem overwhelmed and that's why there are always mistakes. I'd ask for a remake but I don't want to wait any more time than I already did. As soon as anything opens up in the area that is half way decent, this store will loose a lot of business.

Yelp
Viva La Boba is located in downtown San Bernardino and is a must try! With original drinks like the IE Sunset or Redlands Blossom, there is always something unique and delicious to experience. Indoor and outdoor seating available, medium sized shop with wifi. Nice vibes overall - I have had work meetings, friend hangs, and late night trips SERVICE: okay everyone here is sweet, nice, and helpful. It always feels like I can ask any questions and ask for suggestions Overall rating: 9.8/10

Yelp
Yummy refreshing drinks My husband loves strawberry banana smoothie with protein And great customer service Highly recommended

Yelp
I had 4 drinks and all were tooooo tooo sweet. It ruined the experience. Service was nice. The price is not worth the drinks having to pay for the syrup for the matcha now that's wrong. I understand paying for the add on. What would you get if you order a (Moon MiLK tea) without the add on lavender syrup? Tea and Milk???? (Taro milk tea) without add on syrup milk and tea?? (Strawberry matcha) without add on the syrup and matcha powder?? Milk??? (Mermaid milk tea)?? With our Add on blue tea & matcha?? Crazy crazy Add on's are normal the toppings

Yelp
I'm so sad ya'll , I love to come here when I'm around downtown sb. I went to Viva La Boba in the morning & they did not have boba so I decided to go to the movie theater with my partner since we were going to do that anyways & come back later when they had boba. Right after the movie ended we headed back to Viva La Boba. We went inside & sat for a while as we looked at the menu through our phones. I'm very indecisive so i always take 5-10 mins to decide what I truly want. Once me & my partner were ready to order, we went up to the register & were looking at the cookies so we could have one with our drink. The girl that was working at the cash register (I didn't catch her name, she had short braids or pigtails, I don't really remember) told us that she was going to close the whole store because she was going on her break. So she basically kicked us out. I feel she could of told us that from the very beginning that way we could of hurried & ordered before. Me & my partner were very upset. I am currently almost 31 weeks pregnant & my boba cravings are STRONG lol so I was very upset that we left home with nothing after waiting & coming back until there was some boba available. I'm not the type of person to write negative reviews but It's definitely important to be mindful of people & their time.

Yelp
came by this place via apple maps and was pleasantly surprised -- the lady was super nice and the drink was made exactly as ordered -- love it

Yelp
They really do need to post a better sign on the door that the one barista is on break in the middle of the day at 3 o clock .. I get that they are a small business but they need to hire more staff , I walked in and there were random people just on the computer there and a really small tiny sign that said "out on break" no time frame on when they will be back , again I understand people need breaks and they are a small business but that's poorly run to randomly close a business but still have the doors open and leaving customers confused as to where a barista is until you find a tiny sign at the register , someone could walk in and steal things at the counter , it's dangerous , I think they should hire 2 baristas at a time so they don't have to close shop , small business or not that doesn't work , building is also very hard to find the sign is really small , and the parking situation is frusterating as well , I hate leaving poor reviews but this isn't properly run , if they can't hire enough people they should not have this location open until they have enough staff

Yelp
One of the boba shops that actually do natural drinks! Our drinks had no artificial flavors. For my banana cream pie smoothie, it tasted like an actual banana blended rather than an artificial banana flavoring. This is a nice boba shop that incorporates mexican flavors like horchata or agua frescas.

Brandon W.

Yelp
This place is amazing came by because I needed a pick me up to a really rough morning with my pets. I found out they were actually closed for another half hour. But the wonderful co-founder Tansu of their store, still opened their doors to me. I had the pleasure of speaking with Tansu. Let me just say it's refreshing to hear someone realize how amazing our city can be. If we just put showed some care into others and our city. The shop has a nice amount of seating where you could get read book And the tea is FIRE! Not too overly sweet but just enough Please support SB!

Yelp
Viva La Boba is a Café/Boba Tea Store in San Bernardino that serves Bubble Tea, Coffee, and Tea to the customers. This place is close to our work, so we visited this place a couple of times. This place is small but well-decorated. Their customer service and atmosphere are also good. However, their Bubble Tea, Coffee, and Tea were not up to the mark. Last time we visited this place on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. We ordered Brown Sugar Milk Tea with Boba and Taro Milk Tea with Espresso & Boba. Brown Sugar Milk Tea was average but Taro Milk Tea was watery and below average. Their Boba was hard and didn't have flavor. The price was also high considering the taste of their drinks.

Yelp
Stopped by viva yesterday to pick up some cold refreshing drinks for my employees from dignity health, we got a IE sunrise, IE sunset and the mangonada (it is blended and fire AF) we added the brown sugar boba and it was amazing! It was light and refreshing during this heat wave and very reasonably priced! The restaurant itself was welcoming, clean and vibrant with a beautiful mural inside of the central downtown SB area it was really cool to see the map on the wall it was so big and colorful and had all the land marks of the town! We definitely will be going back, the staff was super nice and helpful with drink suggestions we definitely found a great place to cool down and get some delicious boba

Yelp
Delightful variety of fun, unique boba drinks - we had the San Bernardino Sling and the Abuelita Cold Brew. Sling was refreshing - perfect balance of sweet and tart. Cold brew was tasty - complex, nice spice. Friendly staff - helpful with recommendations! Cute shop!

Yelp
Nothing but great things to say about this place !! Everyone who works here is so genuine and kind and they're always willing to answer all of my questions it's also amazing how they work in the local culture and the historical aspect of this area, as a 2nd gen latina, my heart soars when I placed my mobile order they were so fast and the drinks were well made and yummy! Love y'all

Elizabeth H.

Yelp
Great drinks, service and a cute place. I was planning on going the safe route and just getting a regular brown sugar boba, but I was told they wouldn't have it until after 12p.m. (I got here at 11:10a.m.) I wasn't too sure what to get since I never really step out of my comfort zone, but I ended up getting some coffee and my brother got a mango popping boba with strawberry lemonade. I wish I got that too because it was so delicious! I would def recommend! :)
google avatar

Yelp
Drinks are delicious and made quickly! The staff was so friendly and cashier Ingrid was amazing! She even recommended a mix of popping bubbles that made my drink so much better !!

Yelp
Stopped by today to get a couple of drinks and cookies. I greeted the employee and took my time looking at the menu i ordered and the 19 price came out to like 19 and change (drinks were both small btw) then finally the girl informed me they dont accept cash payments..... a sign wouldve helped and also no cash? Owner is loosing out on money bruv

Angelica C.

Yelp
Maybe if the employees didn't half scoop or half pump the drinks would taste good. Drinks are always tasting so watered down; no flavor. I used to work at a boba I know the get down to save more money on inventory.
google avatar

Amanda G.

Yelp
We were in the area and I had heard about this place through friends so we decided to check this local spot out. It was busy because there was only one girl working at the time and she was making to-go orders, which made us wait about 15 mins before placing our order. By this point there was now a line inside and partly outside. Tried the abuelita cold brew large and a regular sized mermaid milk. The cold brew was actually really good and flavorful. Not too sweet or overly cinnamon flavored. As for the mermaid milk, I was really disappointed. It was super sweet, the sea foam was just whipped cream and did not taste salted at all. On top of that for the name being viva la boba, I would've assumed their specialty drinks (at the least) would automatically come with boba instead of having to pay an extra .75 cents to add it. For the price (over $11 for two drinks) and the dissatisfaction, I won't be stopping here again anytime soon.

Yelp
My first time to come here and it was a good visit. Parking is a little " tough" because it's limited and I have to drove around the block once to find an empty space(luckily there was one space available). The inside of the store is nice and the people were friendly to their customers. They were helpful giving me advice since it was my first time to be here. No cash is accepted. The drink I ordered was black tea with mango syrup plus mango jelly ( less sweet). It was a refreshing drink. They gave me two drinks bc they made a mistake, one was slush and the other was with ice . Both has mango jelly. I got to try both drinks and they are refreshingly good. Service was quick. Vibe is good. Will I come back? Yes I will.

Yelp
This place is cute and i appreciate how close it is to my job BUT I wish they had better signage on their mobile site to notify that the boba isn't ready until 12:30pm. I ordered online hoping for a quick pick up during my lunch and waited over 30 minutes for my Thai tea with boba. The last time I had visited they had signage posted that boba was ready at 12 so hence why I ordered 10 min prior and left to pick it up at 12:10pm. It would have been a better experience if staff were more communicative when their projected 10-15 min wait time ended up being longer. They did not seem apologetic when they gave me my drink nor did they offer any consolation. Staff literally said sorry, bowed and walked away. Like okay... My Thai tea was good but the boba was bland. Just seems odd that this establishment is called Viva la Boba when they don't have boba all day and the boba is bleh.

Yelp
Great variety of Boba drinks and friendly service. Staff is always friendly and welcoming.

Yelp
PRO-TIP: Yelp Check-In for a free topping ! Trust me when I say that I really, really wanted to like this place. Especially with how unique the drinks are, their efforts in revitalizing the down town area, and the fact that they care so much about the community (supporting local artists, offering information about outreach and support services and resources, etc.). There's plenty of street parking, even on a Saturday afternoon and there wasn't much of a wait getting our drinks. They have shirts, stickers, and other merch for sale, as well as some baked goods. Also really neat that they have Zodiac inspired drinks and that you get a discount if it's during the time of your sign! I have to admit that I love the mural of the city on the wall. It's so fun and neat to see where you are and recognize nearby places. I also liked the bulletin board in the back with all the community support. We got the: 1) Moon Milk with boba: -It's a butterfly blue tea mixed with milk and lavender. It's topped with seafoam salted whipped cream. -This was the one that I really wanted to try the most since it looked very cute aesthetically and sounded very unique. -Unfortunately, I was so disappointed. -I wanted to adjust the sweetness, but I was advised not to since it would diminish the lavender taste and just make it just a simple milk tea, so I decided not to. -It was insanely, insanely sweet, even with mixing it and allowing the ice to melt. I could not taste any of the earthiness of the tea and I could barely taste the lavender. It mostly tasted like sugar milk with an after taste of something akin to a sweet onion?!? -I'm not sure what even caused that since I've had butterfly tea and lavender teas in the past before. Either way, I did my best to drink until the half way point until I just had to toss it since I was starting to feel sick and get a nasty headache from it as the day went on. -The boba was also extremely hard in the center. Texture was similar to chewy tendons. Very light brown sugar flavor. Should have gotten a different topping... 2) Matchata: -Their spin on matcha + horchata. -Nice earthy matcha flavor that's balanced out with the cinnamon sweetness of horchata. -I let all the ice melt in this one after drinking the moon milk, and it made this much more appealing. -Sweetness was not adjusted, but I enjoyed this! 3) Abuelita Cold Brew: -It's cold brew coffee sweetened with Abuelita syrup with milk. -Since it's sweetened by the syrup, sweetness adjustments can't really be made with the drink. -Very spicy chocolate taste to it that's balanced by the bitterness of the coffee. -It's not bad, but it's extremely dense and thick. Definitely sip it over an extended period of time or have water or milk on hand. Maybe I just ordered the wrong things here, I'm hoping...

Yelp
I tried Viva La Boba for the first time the other day. My usual go to drinks for boba places are jasmine milk tea with boba and you can't go wrong with a regular milk tea with boba. My dilemma was, I can't really have caffeine anymore, so I had to try something new! Also their boba isn't ready until after 12:30 pm and I had gone at 11am when they opened. So I didn't get to try their boba. I asked the young lady if they had any teas that don't come with caffeine, she mentioned the Jamaica and the blue tea. She recommended the blue tea with moon milk and said it came with sea foam. I was all in. Blue, moon, tea, sea? Almost all my favorite things put into one item?! Heck yeah I wanted to try it, but I'm picky so I asked what it tasted like lol! The young lady mentioned it tasted sort of floral because the moon milk had undertones of lavender to it. When I took my first sip, I will say it tasted almost a little like a pumpkin spice. I'm not sure though, because after that it was sort of just milky and sweet and I liked it. The purple looking syrup at the bottom was intriguing. Overall I really liked my blue tea with moon milk and sea foam. I wish they had the boba when I go, but maybe next time. Would I order this drink again? Yes. Why didn't I give five stars? Because the boba is only ready after 12:30 pm. Because the only alternative to a caffeine free milk tea is the blue tea and the Jamaica. I love milk tea, I wish somewhere would make a caffeine free version. Do I plan to go back? Yes! I really liked the vibe here. I loved the magnets and photos and merch they had for sale. It's an awesome looking place and I think if you're thinking about trying it, you should.

Yelp
I was greeted right away by a nice smiling-face that was very knowledgeable of what to offer me considering my allergies and my dietary needs this was my 1st visit but I will be back. My tea was fresh and delicious. May I also add they have awesome gifts to pick up for some special or even your self

Yelp
One of my favorite Boba/Tea/Coffee spots. Baristas are knowledgeable and always recommend the best drinks based on what you like. My favorite is the Thai Milk tea and the Texas Latte. Oh and they have dairy free alternative. Dairy free WHIP CREAM!!!!!!!!!

Steph M.

Yelp
Got the black oolong milk tea with boba and some brown sugar syrup. It was so watered down, it didn't really taste like anything except tap water with some light brown sugar sweetness. Very bland, very disappointing. Boba was not as soft and chewy as I would have hoped for either.
google avatar

Crystal M.

Yelp
So grateful for this place as it's the perfect distance from my job to take a walk during breaks! They have the best chai tea latte smoothie- one of the only boba places with that drink on the menu. It's really cute inside and they have free Wi-Fi. Love the name too!
google avatar

Yelp
Been here a few times now and most of the time it's been great. They are ok the pricy side of boba after an upgrade and add ons but you are supporting a community. Also they offered a free large drink to ANY employee( janitor, receptionist, security guards , doctors ) at hospitals which is so Noble because not many places are appreciating everyone during this covid 19 crisis. Which I can totally appreciate.

Yelp
Come here sometimes, enjoy my boba. Tasty and always good customer service, clean place
google avatar

Sergio M.

Yelp
The drinks are great, second time coming here.. however I would assume it would already come with boba since the store is called Viva La BOBA but from now on I'll make sure to remind myself to always mention I want bobas in my drinks, coming here doesn't feel welcoming at all, then again we are in San Bernardino. I'm taking a hint it's the customers JOB to make sure to know what the store sells and what to ask for precisely, I'll be on my toes next time. Thank you.
google avatar

Rachelle Z.

Yelp
This place is amazing. I loved the atmosphere. I let the person at the counter know that I had never had boba before. They helped me chose a drink that I ended up loving. Will be back when I am in the area.

Yelp
Came here to support Tansu's boba shop and it did not disappoint! Love the interior, the outside patio, and the plant wall they've put together. We liked that Viva's Thai milk tea wasn't too sweet and we really enjoyed the Taro milk tea with oat milk. Viva's boba was delicious and our pup Leroy enjoyed their loaded puppuccino. Can't wait to come back again!

Yelp
the drinks are amazing!! and you get them right away super fast service. the plus about this place is the very cool boba shop, it had a cute map of the city! My go to boba place!

Yelp
We love to go to viva for it's good quality, great customer service and for their fun drinks can't wait for the Redlands location to open!

Yelp
I have been drinking boba since I was a kid - my sister and mom and I used to escape our responsibilities for an afternoon to sneak away to have pearl milk tea. Viva la boba captures that sense of delicious escape and safe landing spot. The service is excellent, and the baristas are so knowledgeable and freely share recommendations based on what you like. The space is bright and welcoming, and I love how much of a community feel it has with supporting pop ups with local artists. And most importantly, everything is delicious! I am very particular about the sweetness of my boba and the baristas were sure to make sure I was satisfied. If you are in the area, swing by and grab a delicious drink and treat, knowing you're supporting a community-centric and woman-of-color owned business!

Yelp
Super cute place!! The staff there was so nice and were really quick on making the drinks, new favorite boba spot :)

Yelp
So happy to find this gem in downtown SB. Loved their Thai Teas. So many options and so many drinks. Baristas are amazing, was undecided on the drink I was getting my friend and what milk to add to it, I love that she offered to remake it if we didn't like it. This is definitely my new to go place.
