Austin Pastry Chef Opens Bakery Delivery Service Vivian’s Boulangerie | Eater Austin

"Operated by former Contigo pastry chef Kendall Melton as an online bakery delivery service, this business offers a rotating lineup of sweet and savory pastries available for pickup or delivery on Fridays through Sundays with 24 hours' notice. Standouts include cookies, a variety of croissants—most notably an acclaimed almond croissant and a roasted mushroom and gruyère croissant—and tiger claws. The menu also features flavored syrups for milk, coffee, or champagne in strawberry, bourbon, and a sparkly vanilla. The venture launched on a local farm-to-table delivery app before moving to a self-hosted website at the end of August for direct online ordering." - Erin Russell

Google
Cozy neighborhood spot with a delicious croissant breakfast sandwich. My mocha cappuccino was great and I love that they had hot sauce options for me. Exactly what I was looking for! The sunny cushioned nook seating and friendly service was appreciated too - nice warm spot to hang out for a while.

Yelp
I stopped into Vivian's and had such a great experience from start to finish. I ordered a Cortado and a Red Eye, both priced at $5. The cortado was smooth and balanced. The red eye had the perfect kick, plus they offer free refills on drip coffee, which is such a nice bonus if you're planning to sit and relax or get some work done. For food, I tried Lox sandwich ($15). The pickled egg salad added amazing acidity, they were very generous with the smoked salmon, and the everything croissant was buttery, flaky, and savory. This is easily one of the best lox sandwiches I've had. I also ordered the Cold Cut Italian ($16), which was also very good. They were generous with the salami and ham, and I liked the touch of oil and vinegar which just enough without making the ciabatta soggy. Personally, I would switch out the provolone since I could barely taste it, but overall it was still good. It comes with a side salad or chips. I chose the salad, and while it was small, the vinaigrette was delicious. To end my meal, I had the Presidio cocktail, which I had before and enjoyed. It has gin, blackberry syrup, rosemary, lime, and luxardo maraschino. It's light, refreshing, and beautifully balanced. It would be even better with a Luxardo cherry added, but still a great drink. Service was friendly, there was plenty of seating, and the space was beautifully decorated for the holidays. Vivian's is definitely worth a visit, and I'm already looking forward to coming back.

Yelp
I saw this opened a few weeks ago and I've been so excited to check it out! My friend and I stopped in the other day and the food/drinks were so good I only got one picture! I got the cold cut italian sandwich with a side salad and it was amazing! The menu's small but anything looked and smelled amazing. Our server was nice, gave recommendations, and very attentive! I can't wait to go back and try other items (and taking more pictures)

Yelp
Had the lovely opportunity to taste their new menu items and I was not disappointed. The drinks and food was delicious. The roasted rooted vegetables and yogurt dill sauce was the star of the show. I can't wait to order a platter of that. Everyone was very friendly and I met new people who i hope to link up with soon. It's a small restaurant. Somewhere I would go for carryout but have a nice cocktail or two while I wait. I can't wait til the new items are on the menu

Yelp
Vivian's occupies the former Rize + Rest space on Baltimore and Ellwood. It's concept is similar to it's predecessor's, a cafe offering beverages and bites, but they've put their own spin on the cozy space. Warm touches that feel like home such as rolling pins, vintage copper molds, a green glass jar collection and family photos. The menu is both simple and expansive, you have a plethora of coffee, tea and juice offerings but for now, the grub options are just pastries and a couple breakfast sandwiches. We sampled their classic breakfast sandwich, one with pork sausage and one with roast turkey and they were surprisingly hearty with two eggs on each! Staff was welcoming and service was prompt, attentive and friendly. I'm very much looking forward to watching and experiencing first hand how Vivian's evolves.
