If you like cooking and cookbooks, then you’ll love this magical place. Owner even has samples and classes throughout the year. I was interested in their chili oil class in 3 weeks but it’s already sold out! Def returning! The sample sourdough bread was also fantastic!

I couldn't believe a unique place like this existed! All the cooking books you can ask for and more. The owner is also super helpful and nice. If you're in Portland, come by Vivienne Culinary Books!

Google
Robin was amazing and I highly recommend trying out a cooking class/demonstration! We did a class with dishes cooked out of a vegan cookbook that we also then purchased. Learned so much and am excited to try the things we got from the class. Such a great spot on Alberta and looking forward to going back!

Super cool concept I’ve never seen before! Loved browsing, wanted to buy one of their Dutch ovens but I flew from out of town otherwise I would’ve!

We loved everything about our experience. The quality and price. The decor and friendly service. The perfect place for a slow breakfast to enjoy a conversation over quality coffee. Will be back many times over. Very happy to have discovered this place so close to home.

Bright and cozy spot with the smoothest, tastiest coffee served in little tea cups. The pastries are delightful; we had a lavender chocolate chip cookie today. And definitely stay for brunch or lunch also. The breakfast special of griddled bread pudding was delightful with peach jam and rosemary butter on top served with two eggs and bacon. And my partner got the breakfast sandwich and was equally impressed. We'll definitely be back.

I left with a new cookbook and inspiration to try new recipes! A must-visit for anyone who loves cooking and exploring the world of flavors!

Wonderful shop full of great culinary cookbooks. She also has pastries and wine to enjoy at the secret bar and cooking classes she teaches from the books she sells too and more! I've attended 3 or 4 of the classes and each was informative and wonderful.

Yelp
We had a great time here! We came for the cookbooks and she does have a great selection, but we actually walked away with more purchases of other things we hadn't even planned on (don't you love those experiences? The "I found tons of things I WASN'T looking for!" experiences?). We got 2 or 3 books, a leaded glass vintage covered pedestal cake stand for only $40 and a partial set of Fitz & Floyd vintage demitasse that are so colorful and cute, perfect for serving Moka to friends after dinner! This neighborhood has come back to life with midrises featuring eclectic shopping and food. A great place to just walk around!

Yelp
I had read an awesome review of this place a year ago and told myself I would visit when I made it up to see my cousin. Not the easiest parking but eventually we found something. At the time of our visit there was no food service therefore this review is of the shop itself. It's cute, has a carefully curated selection of cookbooks and magazines, however prices not marked. I was excited when I saw "whetstone" magazine because I've been meaning to subscribe and this would be a forced reminder, however the cover price was $10 and I was charged $20. I also purchased "Blood of Gods" for my cousin and cover price was $5 and I was charged $10, so bummed to pay $30 instead of $15. Better to let customers know ahead of time instead of when they are paying. I don't live in the area and I'll never return. It was a bummer for sure.

Yelp
I came here for brunch pre covid after my sister was raving about it and it was super cute. It's definitely one of those places where the food looks too beautiful to eat. Full of colors that really pop out (super Instagrammable), edible flowers delicately placed, and sprouts and greens to garnish. There are always beautiful fresh flowers on the tables. My sister had the BAT-bacon, arugula, tomato jam, and aioli sandwich and she said it's something she orders often. I had toast with hazelnut butter and bacon. When I think of hazelnut spread, I think of Nutella. There's no added chocolate, it's very different than anything I've had before. It's not a fine spread like peanut butter, but I would definitely get a jar of this to eat. I don't see the frittata on their menu anymore, but my mom had this and she's not one to enjoy breakfast foods, but she liked this and would not stop talking about it. We had the cinnamon cardamom coffee cake to share. The cardamom flavor really comes through. It's not your typical coffee cake. It was slightly on the dryer side. Overall, the food here is great. It's light and refreshing with a twist to it that you don't really find at other places. Ordering during covid is super easy. They have a window that they take orders out of. Super easy and contact free. They're careful about this which I love. Your order is put on a platter for you to take so there's no fear of accidentally touching hands or anything like that. You can order by phone or online. They provide an accurate prep time too. I picked up some BLTs and it was enjoyable. I don't typically get BLTs, but Vivienne makes it with a slightly tangy sauce that I love. It's crucial during this time to support local small businesses and Vivienne is one I would love to see sticking around. If you ever wanted to try it, I would highly recommend you go as soon as possible.

Yelp
Love is in the details at Vivienne Kitchen and Pantry. The ingredients are fresh, wholesome and assembled with expert precision. I love that the menu isn't overly extensive; their well-curated menu of dishes are prepared and presented well. Vivienne is a small venue, decorated with a white, minimalist esthetic in mind. There are several seating options for intimate conversations, as well as a couple longer tables for bigger groups. The portion sizes are reasonable, the food is elegantly plated, and the environment is pleasant and clean. My only critique is the staff on several occasions haven't been overly communicative or friendly. Perhaps it's shyness, maybe it's a pretentious vibe... I'm not sure. Also, I personally love the experience of ordering and drinking tea. Given Vivienne's attention to detail in other areas, I feel their tea is lacking. Perhaps more variety of tea blends, better cups and saucers, and an individual teapot would suffice. Having to walk to the counter to ask for more hot water in your MUG is a bit unrefined. I would suggest you give Vivienne a chance. It has become a fixture in the center of the Hollywood district, and has acquired a devoted following. You may even run into some of your favorite authors and illustrators there, it's that kind of place.

Yelp
A gem! Every single thing about this charming restaurant is thoughtfully created and served with love! The quaint decor, small vases of perfect blooms on the tables, the mismatched tea cups, and simple yet pleasing rustic interior. Then there is the exquisite food! OMG! Pure deliciousness with every bite. Each dish is flavorful, cooked to perfection, and has some additional ingredient that takes it to the next level. For example, the breakfast sandwich, an egg on a ciabatta role with arugula and lemon aioli. Sounds simple but take a bite and you are immediately in Heaven! The roll was crisp on the outside with a pocket of air inside. Since I don't care for the texture of egg whites, I requested a scrambled egg which was not an issue at all. The egg was so fluffy and complimented the crispy, salty I bacon; the other options are prosciutto or duck confit. All ingredients are fresh and cooked to perfection but what takes this ordinary breakfast sandwich over the top is the arugula with lemony aioli. Never would I think of adding this to an egg sandwich but from now on, any sandwich without will be lacking in my opinion! The bar has been raised! My friend selected the celery root soup which had a melody of flavors and textures based on the toppings. It arrived looking Instagram worthy and tasted every bit as good! With a side of a cream biscuit and jam, this was the perfect lunch. The baked goods on the counter beg to be purchased for a snack later on! A slice of the cinnamon cardomun coffee cake made its way home with me to be thoroughly enjoyed for breakfast the next day. Just the right amount of spice, warm with the flavors of fall, it was stellar, the perfect accompaniment to my coffee. Service was wonderful. Even though you order and pay at counter, and fix your own cup of coffee at the coffee station, since my friend and I were engaged in animated conversation, they brought the coffee to us, along with a little pot of cream and sugar cubes. Never did we feel rushed; we stayed until lunch hour was over, savoring our scrumptious food and conversation. Highly recommend this charming restaurant! Perfect for lunch or dinner with a friend, a birthday brunch with Mom, a girlfriend or anyone who appreciates the magic a few fresh, high quality ingredients can become when at the hands of a talented chef served with love.

Yelp
This place is hidden gem! So cute and cozy, I just fallen in love with this lovely French cafe when I stepped inside. Simple but creative menus, interior make me feels being home, a lot of plants! I have ordered frittata with mix green, they offers a cup of bone broth, and I want to try their chick pea soup next time. Signature coffee cake was not too sweet, not dense and a hint of cardamom (love it!). Perfect for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. They also have a bar, so you can get some cocktails with brunch. Too bad, they don't open for evening, but I will come back for weekend meal!

Yelp
Stopped by this little shop last weekend after seeing it on Google maps while trying to find somewhere to go to lunch with someone I hadn't seen in years. (Even longer than before the pandemic!) I had no idea what to expect, and was absolutely thrilled with how wonderful this cafe was. After having lunch I went back and read some old reviews just out of curiosity, and wasn't shocked that it was pretty much five stars across the board. I felt so welcome here, it was like having lunch with a friend while they cooked. And the food was delicious. I thought the serving sizes were perfect and all the fresh produce ingredients are from local farmers markets. Having cookbooks to buy along side a super charming lunch counter is a deadly combination if you are trying not to buy cookbooks. They also have cooking classes here on the weekends. I haven't tried that yet, but I'm definitely going to. I highly recommend this shop if you are not the type of person who wants all the dishes to match. I wouldn't say this is a "traditional" restaurant at all. It's more like a cozy corner of a bookstore from a movie that involves magic and has been adapted from a YA fiction novel about kindness and mystery. Think (Rick Riordan, NOT she who shall not be named) One last note, because this is very important to a certain sect of the population, this establishment is extremely LGBTQ friendly, regardless of your presentation, and that was just the icing on the cake. Thank you so much for making me feel so welcome.

Yelp
I enjoyed seeing how many regulars were enjoying breakfast, it's a hit with a certain clientele. While it's not one of my goto spots (that's on me, not on them), Vivienne is great for the neighborhood. The vibe is a dash of Lake Oswego in Hollywood, and I don't mean in a bland chain food kind of way. I finally tried the recommended smashed chickpea sandwich, I'd probably order it again. I somewhat wish the bread was grilled, but it's not a diner so understood. Each bite has a pleasant tangy aftertaste. I concur with another reviewer (and others in the neighborhood): I always leave just a little hungry. While I realize they are a business, I wonder how much just a little more will reduce their profit margin? The small trade off would probably move the needle for many from "small portion to "fair" or "satisfactory." They offer a tasty hot sauce made with care and preparation, oh yeah, the owner went there. Most places limit to the boring trio of Cholula-Tabasco-Tapatio and maybe Sriracha. There's a vibe that they care about their customers.

Yelp
Cute little place to eat breakfast, with friends or by yourself. I met up with a couple of people (my first time to visit Vivienne's but they've both been numerous times) and we were delighted to find a table available... so we made ourselves right at home. We ordered biscuits and tea, which seemed to take a long time to serve, but as soon as they arrived, we dug right in. It's a challenging place to eat if you're a vegan (which I am) as they serve eggs and cheese and cream on or with everything (I'm sure my biscuit was made with butter) but if you can by-pass all the animals in their offerings, you won't be disappointed. Or just go get some tea - the dining room is a charming little place to drink your tea :D

Yelp
If I could eat here daily I would. Every single item on the menu is perfectly designed and executed. Incredible attention to flavor, seasonality, and presentation make the entire dining experience exceptional without being stuffy or pretentious. The space itself has a wonderfully warm and welcoming energy. It's a small spot but light-filled and so calming. I love to come sit with a book after I've enjoyed breakfast and sip endless cups of coffee. There is almost always a fabulous bread pudding on the daily offerings menu and a frittata as well. And the biscuits. So light. So airy. So buttery. It's hard to resist purchasing a few to-go and then snacking on them within seconds of leaving the shop.

Yelp
Carefully curated food, drink and atmosphere - this place is calming and the food is beautiful as well as delicious. Coffee is smooth without bitterness. I like it! I had the frittata which comes with a fresh arugula salad and toast points. Yummy yummy! My hubby had the egg salad sandwich and pronounced it good too. Great tiny place for a healthy and tasty breakfast or lunch. Right next to the cool old theater.

Yelp
Everything, every single thing at Vivienne Kitchen & Pantry is crafted with care: from the lovingly crafted salads with fresh flowers to the rose latte with rose petals (or violets) on top, to the fresh blossoms on tables. Every single thing is done with great intentionality, care, and love. And, it shows! Some of my favorite things about Vivienne Kitchen: 1. The food: It's really, really delicious, creatively-designed, and fresh! 2. The service: it's attentive. I even saw the person who waited on me tasting and re-tasting (with several forks) the salad she was preparing for me. 3. Instead of handing out plastic silverware; if you get something for take out, they give you real silverware. Thank you, Vivienne Kitchen! On the downside, the portions are on the small side and the prices reflect the attention to detail. But, the quality is impeccable, intentional, and feels really inspiring!

Yelp
Being from Hawaii, my traditional breakfast would be eggs, starch, and a meat choice. This place is of walking distance and looked super interesting. So I decided to try it out. Location: Hollywood district on Sandy. Parking: street Service: you order before you sit down. We got the bread pudd'n fix which came with eggs and bacon. Coffee is self served, you pick out your own mug! Delicious pastry items are displayed on the countertop. When we sat down, I had a clear view of the countertop. Now the reason why I gave this place 4 stars is the inconsistency. I noticed one of my biggest pet peeves - touching food with bare hands. But I won't judge, maybe she washed her hands? Not sure. But that made me question my plate when it arrived. Food: the bread pudd'n was delicious. But because of what I witnessed, I couldn't touch my bacon :( so that was a waste.

Yelp
I was drawn here by Yelp, and I'm not too sure how to feel. I came here Saturday morning around 10:30a for a brunch with my aunt and mom. I'm a sucker for small, local restaurants/shops, so I thought this would be the perfect spot. The restaurant gives off an adorable, rustic/vintage feel. They had small bunches of flowers selling outside of their restaurant and it was the cutest!!! Now the pictures make it seem bigger than I thought, but it's still decently sized. Not too small. Not too many tables. Ordering was easy. I ordered 2 rose teas with milk and honey, earl grey (also requested with milk and honey), 2 slices of coffee crumble cake (that was on display next to the cash register), and a salad with pork (forgot the name... farm fresh salad (?) from their daily menu.) Although I appreciated the polite service (staff is very nice and greets you), the food portions were small and took quite a while when no one else was in line... After 10 mins, they served us just one rose tea... I expected another tea to come right after, but after waiting a few mins, it didn't come, so we had to remind them that there are two rose teas. Soon after, the second rose tea arrived. Really pretty tea with petals. I couldn't take my eyes off of how elegant it was. Then came my earl grey tea. Another 10 mins passed. Now, I was patient, but my mom was hangry and concerned about the other foods. The coffee crumble cake was already prepared and all they needed to do was slice it. So I asked the staff about it. They said that they need to add the fruit/berry compote. It took quite a while just for that... They eventually handed it to us after 20 mins or so, but only handed us one slice. Then another 5 mins, I get my salad. So there should be one tea and one plate of food for my mom, aunt, and I; (3 total tea and food each) yet nearly after 30 mins, we're still awaiting another cake slice. So we asked about it (yet again) and the cashier did not hear us ask for two slices of cake... She offered to bring it to us on the house, and she did, which I appreciated! The first slice of cake was delicious, yet the second tasted strange... it tasted oddly dry, but it came from the same cake on display and puzzled my family.... I wouldn't come here hungry, only for a snack because of the small portion plates. Pricey for what you get. The restaurant is absolutely adorable, but the food took forever and tasted frankly mediocre. The staff is friendly as well, but I have my doubts.

Yelp
This place was definitely adorable! I stopped here because I hadn't been to the Hollywood district in a while. I've heard some good stuff about this place and decided to drop in. I ordered some sort of chickpea sandwich, while my sister and her friend ordered a breakfast sandwich, and simple brunch combo (buiscuit+egg+salad). Overall it was pretty good. What I will remember is the bread! Wow, what a crunch! I also had a rose tea which was okay, but I may skip out on it next time. It was Friday afternoon and it was relatively quiet. There was a community table, and some other tables and chairs scattered around. The flower arrangements were GORGEOUS! And the amount of natural light that comes into the cafe is amazing. I'll definitely be coming here again :)

Yelp
We moved to Portland from Europe recently and were happy to discover this gem! The food is so aesthetically pleasing that you don't know what to choose from their pickup window (we wanted to try everything!) Highly recommended

Yelp
Their food is so remarkable it's like you're at your moms house. The food is like a big hug inside of your soul... If I had to describe the food in one word I would call it DIVINE.
google avatar

Dana H.

Yelp
Ummmmmm. I think 4 stars is right. Sure, let's go with that. I really enjoyed the food, you can revel in the local and fresh ingredients, the service was great, the dining area is cramped. Yeah that sounds like 4 stars, doesn't it? I'm struggling, though, because I doubt I'll be back. The food comes in tiny portions, which is great in this country of excess, but it feels like you're paying a lot for such a small amount. I get it: fresh, local ingredients aren't cheap, but still, it feels like something was not quite right. You're really cramped in that little dining area, you have to bus your own space...I just don't quite get it. I dunno. I liked it. But still. I dunno. This review was just stupid. Swipe right for the next one.

Yelp
Driving along the 84 en route to Ikea only to find out it wasn't going to open for another 30 mins, so we exit and find this quaint little brunch eatery right off the freeway! What a gem. We find street parking around the corner and walk in and are instantly greeted and shown a menu. We order two breakfast sandwiches at the front and find a table by the window in their main dining area. Shortly after our sandwiches came and they were delicious and instantly devoured! All the ingredients tasted fresh - even the ciabatta bread. The aioli added a nice touch of flavor. It was the right amount of food and I didn't feel stuffed and needing a nap afterwards so we were able to tackle the Black Friday crowds for the rest of the day.

Yelp
Came here thinking it's going to be a super cute brunch spot, which is was but it took 40 minutes to get mine and my bf's food and all we had ordered was an egg sandwich and some granola. I'm not sure if it was super busy but everyone else around us seemed to already have gotten their food. Egg sandwich with bacon was okay. The Brie cheese was nice, it's different from other places. I wish the staff was more attentive and checked up on us but it's definitely a different vibe.

Yelp
We have been here twice. We will come again. I have had the griddled bread pudding both times; it comes with two slices of bacon baked and two fried eggs. It is prepared perfectly. The size is just right, not too large. I am sure I will have this dish again. Rebecca had the quiche with prosciutto and a salad. She had a smile on her face when she was finished. We bought their shortbread cookie to have as a treat later. Wonderful flavor and not rock hard. It had just the tight texture. I can see getting it again. This is a quiet place. The food come promptly, but nothing is rushed. It is a peaceful place to start the day. The service is good and friendly. Everything feel just right.
google avatar

Amy P.

Yelp
Downright delicious! I had the prosciutto, arugula, egg sandwich and a half order of granola. The sandwich was pretty small- felt like half the size of a regular sandwich. Although very tasty, the portion wasn't enough for me. That's why I'm only giving 4 stars. My friend got the specialty hash.

Yelp
Vivienne is my favorite spot for breakfast and lunch. The atmosphere is so lovely and charming, and the food is perfection. They offer a beautiful selection of meno items for takeaway. I've never had a meal here that wasn't first rate. A true Portland gem!

Yelp
My friends & I took a road trip to Oregon & we found Vivienne Kitchen for breakfast/brunch. I didn't expect it to be small. But it was really pretty inside! Really aesthetic. The food was alright, didn't really WOW me. The place didn't feel as if I can be loud in because it's so close together. Only for it for the aesthetic feel.

Yelp
Really cute place. Went here with a friend last Thursday and was impressed with the space. Space is minimalist, trendy, and beautifully lit. The food was good, and also reasonably priced. I'm genuinely confused about why this place isn't more hyped? The customer service was decent, although the check out process was also a twinge confusing. I got the BAT sandwich, and it was quite good. The only thing that bothered me was that the tomato jam was too sweet, and could probably be replaced with something like an aioli. These guys have the potential to do amazing things with their space and menu, I hope to be blown away the next time I visit.
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered some food online through their "online pantry" menu and it was absolutely fantastic. We purchased the lamb feta burgers (uncooked and frozen) and we were all going nuts over how delicious they were. We complemented that with their Chickpea salad, which was vegan and had the perfect blend of spices. I highly recommend trying their goods. I've also eaten brunch here a few times (pre COVID) and was always blown away by the taste and presentation.

Yelp
I went here pre-COVID and the food was amazing. Best biscuits I've ever had, and great space. Looking forward to going back now that they have meal kits available!

Yelp
Super cute atmosphere, bottomless drip coffee, and interesting range of items on menu. Usually isn't too crowded and totally worth a try.

Yelp
By far the most delicious, charming, intimate and friendly breakfast spot in town. The kind of small town vibe you want, with flavors to satisfy even the most spoiled of food snobs (although there is nothing snobby or rude about their customer service.) Feels so crazy that you can get food this good in Portland in a space this darling without having to wait for hours in line. If you're reading this and trying to decide on brunch, let me help you: you've just found the right place.

Yelp
Super cute little restaurant in a great location. Smack down in Hollywood right next to the theater makes for a perfect early showing treat! The food is delicious local meals. Their sandwich was amazing. I wish they were open later. I'd love to go back.

Yelp
Bright, friendly classy breakfast/brunch vibe with changing menus reflecting clean, vibrant flavors, in a nice airy space. Like this place a lot, and the 2 ladies who run it.

Yelp
We've been numerous times as we normally find the vibe and food a lovely way to spend a weekend morning. However, today we encountered the worst, crappy attitude from the staff, and have decided not to return. When we sat down after ordering this morning around 10:30am, the restaurant, which is very small, was not full. Even so, we were not expecting quick service -- Vivienne's is a place to savor the morning over coffee or tea, conversation, and well-prepared, slow-cooked food. Still, 45 minutes after ordering, we were beginning to wonder if something might have happened. One of the staff then came up to the people next to us, who'd sat down 15 minutes after us and said their food would be ready in 5 minutes, and thanked them for their patience. Thinking maybe our order simply slipped through the cracks, my wife got up to ask if they indeed had our order in the kitchen. The response she got, in a very nasty tone: "This restaurant is full of people who came before you, wait your turn." In fact, we were the only people in the restaurant who did not have our food (besides the aforementioned people beside us who came in later). We'd normally pass this off as perhaps someone having a bad day, but several people around us told us they'd gotten the same response that morning, some having waited an hour. Vivienne, here's a pro tip: If you open a restaurant that serves small portions at expensive prices, people will expect their food within an hour of ordering. If that bothers you, perhaps you should keep your kitchen closed to the public and just serve the poor friends, family, and souls who are accustomed to your sh**ty attitude.

Yelp
I normally refrain from leaving reviews.... BUT Vivienne's Kitchen and Pantry is hands down some of the finest food I've had the pleasure of tasting. From their impressive egg ssandwich, to the glorious decadent olive oil cake. And... the strong coffee...boy oh boy it'll put a nice kick to your giddy up. My friend Nancy bought me here and I cannot thank her enough. The staff top notch!!! Side note.. the Rose Paloma, superb!!!! You can tell everything is fresh. Wish I could leave more stars Even the presentation and quaint china is awesome

Yelp
Fantastically delicious Dinner! My family and I had the most incredibly delicious dinner at Vivienne last Friday night. It was just my wife & I and our two young girls in the restaurant for most of our meal, so I guess the word on the new dinner service is still getting out. But, it needs to, because the food was so, so good. My wife and I both got the lentil chili, which was really nice to have a vegetarian dish that was so well-balanced and with such complex flavor - I've been craving it all weekend. And our girls split the chicken pot pie, which I thankfully got a few bites of - divine! The desserts were really great, also, and the space is nice and clean - with fantastic late-day lighting. Come check out this great neighborhood spot for dinner, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
First time here and stumbled upon this spot! Breakfast was yummy ! I just ordered the biscuit. It was very buttery, flaky and crispy. It comes with rosemary butter and jams . Yes it was delicious with a touch of sea salt but it also felt like I wAs eating 500 calories haha! Service is great . I forgot our girls name but she was super kind! Plus we are from LA, people from Portland are super super friendly . We don't get a lot of that in LA so it's refreshing . Great find.

Yelp
Tiny, quirky, and really good food. If you're looking for a place that captures French-inspired cuisine and casual European atmosphere, Vivienne is a really good choice. I had the griddled bread pudding, which had some wonderfully surprising spice elements. My wife had the pulled pork, which came with a hot sauce that was so good she wanted more of it. They also serve chocolate chip cookies which are among the best in the city. Thin, chewy, and full of chocolate. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
The owner is friendly and attentive, and it's usually great to eat there when she's around. When she's not there, the employees can come across as indifferent and haughty, even when there aren't many customers in the place, it's been a long time since you placed your order and you still don't have your food. The baked goods on the counter near the register are so appealing. But they're not labelled with name or price information, and there can be a wide variation in price. Having labels for the baked goods, to avoid making a customer ask about each and every item, would be helpful. It would also make ordering more efficient. When hungry people are waiting in line to order, unnecessary conversations about names and prices bog down the process and promote grumpiness.

Yelp
More than any other place in Portland, this one had a feel of a woman owned business. Not sure if it was....Everything seemed light and delicate. I felt somewhat out of place. My wife liked it. I had the two baked eggs on toast with an arugula salad. First time I have eaten a baked egg. Turns out I am not a fan. The taste and smell of the eggs was very eggy. That might be the eggs themselves as I know farm fresh eggs are like that. I am not sure of the source of their eggs. The salad was meh, just ok. My wife had a special that was fried bread pudding and a baked egged and bacon. She was also not a fan of the baked egg but really liked the fried bread pudding. The bacon seemed to be cooked earlier and reheated. Parts of the bacon were fall apart crunchy (I think that is overcooked). Service was good. You order then take your table and they deliver. You bus the table but they did have someone clearing plates sometimes. They had a dish of salt with a cute little spoon, no pepper, no other condiments. I am always suspicious of how many hands touched that salt, despite the cute little spoon. We saw others eating egg sandwiches and they looked good and the people were going "Mmmmm". We may come back but since there are so may other breakfast places in Portland that we have not been to... it may be a while before we do.

Yelp
I went with a group of 7. There is an automatic 20% tip added for 6 or more. I ordered the open face egg salad sandwich. It was DELICIOUS. Our group ordered a variety of food off the menu and everyone loved what they ate. They have Extracto Roasters coffee. They do not serve espresso. They do have a lot of tea options as well. It is a smaller location with only one table that will hold a larger group. Wasn't a huge portion for a lunch but good for a brunch or casual meet up.

Yelp
This place has a casual picnic vibe with amazing food. The people who work here clearly love what they do - it shows at all levels. Whenever I pick up an order, they are friendly, welcoming, and kind. The baby cakes are to-die for (if you are lucky to get one), the wine selection stellar, and all the food is top notch.

Yelp
A perfectly quaint comfortable food pleasing place to meet with a friend. It feels good here. The food is great. Coffee is great. Prices are spot on. When you add a special friend (or sig other), you're in the most wonderful synergistic bubble. I will be back! Edit: I noticed a patron thought she was being singled out because she's Asian and was asked if she had paid. I was part of a threesome of whites and my friend had paid for all 3 of us, but as we were streaming out, a woman who wasn't there when we ordered, asked ME if I had paid. It wasn't because of my skin color. It was because they are busy working and since you pay at the end, she wasn't aware of who was with who. I get that. I wasn't offended. I would suggest the staff works on knowing who has paid and who hasn't but I also think calling someone racist over this is irresponsible.

Yelp
Super cute and yummy place! I got a daily special which was a salad with arugula, egg, bacon, squash, chèvre and mint salad dressing. Also the music was great! A mix of Leon Bridges, Alabama Shakes and other goodies. A quaint breakfast or brunch spot.

Yelp
I could have rated 2 stars but It's good food. So they get 3 stars for the food. However, several challenges with service being quite slow. We arrived at 11:45am and the food came at 12:15pm. So, if you are a bit of rush, keep that in mind. Also, the playing service is a bit disorganized as they also seem to have fairly small counter space to plate the dishes. I watch how this person put a muffin and strip of bacon on the plate, look at it and then switch to a bigger plate but it was as if someone had press the slow-mo button. I could see everything happen is slooooow motion. Another think to keep in mind is that if you go for lunch, you will find some of the most popular options sold out like braised pork. They open early, at 9am and some of these options which are also great for lunch, they seem to go out the door for breakfast or brunch.

Yelp
Love taking a walk and visiting this place! They have the best cold brew and get the bread pudding. It's the best

Yelp
This little cafe was such an unexpected treat for a late breakfast! The atmosphere is bright, clean, cheery and inviting. All of the dishes, tableware and cutlery have a vintage charm to them and the menu was diverse, offering both healthy and indulgent options. We went with the daily specials: a garden frittata with goat cheese and bread pudding French toast. Both were delicious! The staff were all friendly and just as charming! We will definitely come back soon.

Yelp
I love Vivienne, and selfishly I debated not reviewing them because I don't want another fabulous brunch place to have a 2 hour wait every weekend. But, like I said, that's selfish of me and they deserve the success I'm sure they'll inevitably receive! The food is stellar, literally everything I've ordered from soups, salads, pastries and egg dishes was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Maybe it's because it's a cozy space, or that they use real china and silver settings, but it feels like you're getting a homemade meal in someone's dining room. They don't have a huge menu, but they do amazing specials every day and the menu has never seemed limiting to me- in fact, I have a hard time choosing every time I go. The space is clean, bright and uncluttered. One last comment- the coffee is delicious, and it's probably because I love drinking out of their gorgeous china sets, but I end up drinking an absurd amount every time I go.

Yelp
These are people who really care about food. Beautiful, healthy, delicious food. And the atmosphere is warm in the nicest way. I am grateful to be able to eat here.
