LA’s Best Hot Dogs, From Chili Dogs to Bacon-Wrapped Hot Dogs | Eater LA

"This Colombian street food trailer by Viviana “Vivi” Henriquez is one of the few places in Los Angeles to get fresh arepas, loaded hamburgers, and sauced-up hot dogs. The maximalist street treat piles on onions, lettuce, tomato, crispy bacon, and broken ripio de papa (stick fries), and then receives a righteous smattering of five different sauces. It’s wonderfully messy, so grab napkins." - Eater Staff

The Valley’s Colombian Street Food Star Does Fresh Arepas and Saucy Hot Dogs | Eater LA

"Along Sepulveda Boulevard in front of the Van Nuys Petco I found a cute red trailer serving Colombian street food that centers on the arepa rellena, a stuffed arepa made from cornmeal; Viviana “Vivi” Henriquez, originally from Cali, opened the operation five years ago at the Northridge Farmers Market and moved into a trailer in the months before the pandemic, initially giving away arepas until she earned a loyal following. I learned she cooks and grinds the corn herself and fills the arepas with traditional Cali recipes: the arepa de pollo is packed with shredded chicken seasoned with triquisar (tinted yellow with a little food coloring, as is common in Colombia) and finished with melted cheese and cilantro sauce; the chicharrón arepa has fried diced squares of crackling and cheese; and the beef (carne desmechada) is stewed with spices, tomato, onion, and garlic before being overstuffed into split arepas. The concise truck menu also includes Colombian hot dogs (made on a local bun and piled with onions, lettuce, tomato, crispy chopped bacon, and ripio de papa covered in the truck’s five sauces), hamburgers, empanadas, chorizo, and dedo de queso (tequeños), which my Venezuelan diners especially seek out; David Muñoz, Vivi’s husband and partner, pairs the cheese sticks with a sweet pineapple sauce. To drink, try ultra-sweet Colombian gaseosas like Postobon Manzana or Colombiana. The trailer visits Van Nuys, Reseda, Canoga Park, and Long Beach on different days, posts its weekly schedule on Facebook and Instagram, and—because few places are dedicated to the arepa and even fewer go to the lengths Henriquez does—it's well worth tracking down for satisfying arepas rellenas, hot dogs, and Colombian snacks." - Bill Esparza

COLOMBIAN CUISINE IN THE SAN FERNANDO VALLEY!!!! Need I share more? Comfort food you must try- always prepared fresh and served hot. To avoid crowds- call in your order because it definitely is a popular spot. I recommend absolutely everything on the menu but top favorite are the burgers and “Bull dogs” aka hot dogs.

Google
I’ve never tried authentic Colombian food before but this spot was bomb! We tried the food truck at a brewery in Pasadena.. it was great. The salchipapa was tasty and the beef franks were on point. The pollo arepa was tasty, but I need more spice! I know it’s hard to come by but you have to bring your own salsa, nonetheless the green salsa and chimichuri was great! Will come back!

Yelp
I love South American food. Peruvian... delicious. Argentinean... delicious. I've even been to Bolivia and loved the food we had there. So it's with a sad heart that I write this mediocre review. My Mom and I each got their Arepa Rellena and found them to be kinda.... blah. Not bad, just bland. Each was served with a side of salsa that looked a lot like pico de gallo and another that was guacamole. The salsas were amazing!! Both had a spicey punch and the guacamole was good enough that I would have drunk it straight if I'd had a cup or two. So it was a little frustrating to look at this spectacular salsa and realize that without it the arepa was more task than joy. Why not serve the arepa with the salsa already mixed in? Or marinate the meat in the salsa? And each arepa was over $10. It was packed generously and I was more full than I expected once I was done, but I couldn't help thinking that for that price I could have had 6 al pastor street tacos and been far more full and FAR more satisfied. Maybe their Bulldogs, Columbian hotdogs, would have blown my mind but after a first impression like this, it's going to be a long time before I ever find out.

Yelp
Not 5 stars because of the service. The 2 people there were cold and dry, they almost seemed bothered by my ordering food. Such a shame because the empanadas are really good. I would have bought like 20 to take home, but by the time I got my order they gave it to me in a bag and didn't even want to give me a box, they guy just gave me another bag. I want to go back, but I hope whenever I go the service is better; like there was no reason to be like that, especially with another Colombian since we are so scarce in California lol it's a small colombian world out here.

Yelp
I have so many mixed feelings about this food truck. Their empanadas are pretty good, they definitely need to be a little more generous with the chicken or beef but overall they taste good. The arepas are definitely bland, it seems there's not even salt in the filling but once you put the salsas it gets better. I do love their frozen arepas, they are really good but unfortunately their customer service is just the worst, there was a time when I placed an order through whatsapp and they kept telling me "we don't have that" even thought they listed those items, finally placed my order and when I got home I realized they forgot my frozen arepas, I called them and they were so upset, they kept saying they packed the... I just had a baby, why would I get into the trouble of calling them and trying to go all the way back to get $10 or $15 dollars of arepas free and waste about and additional 30 minutes? Finally they said well come back and we will give you the arepas. After this, I have gone a few additional times and luckily they now have an ipad for you to place your order so you don't actually have to interact with their lack of customer service but that definitely shadows the overall experience. Completely agree with the review that says theat they were cold and dry. A basic customer service course would come in very handy.
