What a wonderful surprise today! We were not expecting a delivery today because of the holiday. Preparing for dinner and I hear a knock and its mow! They had brought my mother's lunch and gifts! Forgive me for not remembering the two angels that came by. I received a call from the gentleman but forgot. But they were so sweet I just had to let everyone know. Mom got some really nice things for me to add to her "spa box." Thank you both for taking time out of your schedule, away from your family to be a blessing to others. Merry Christmas 2024

I was not going to say anything but no one needing assistance should be treated with such disrespect.
(October 14, 2024) I called to get my mother back on MOW...she had taken ill and was unable to retrieve her meals. Fyi, she was also getting a box at the end of the month which was very helpful being on a fix income. I spoke with Dana, but missed her call and called her back.
Let me add this...initially when mother was on the program, all I needed to do was provide her name, DOB, and address etc. Within 2 weeks my mom was receiving her meals daily with the exception of the weekend.
When I returned Dana's call, I missed her again and shortly she connected with me. "This Dana from MOW" silence. Me: "Yes, thank you for returning the call (silence) My mother was on MOW and I'm needing to get her back on the program." She seemed as if I was disturbing her and was quite callous. "Her name, her address, phone number." I can't recall much else she said i was just taken back due to her foul attitude but what I do remember is her harsh response. "This goes through Health and Human resources and will take 2 to 3 months."
Her tone was too nasty to even have a conversation with and simply told her thank you.
Dana, if you don't have compassion, or care to help our elderly, or our veterans or those that are disabled why are you working there? It takes so little to be kind. I'll never understand in a million years why people place themselves in a position such as this and they hate working with people. You should be ashamed of yourself, I know I am ashamed of you. One day you'll have to help your parents and I pray you don't run into someone like you.
Fyi, why are we being directed to health and human resources for approval? I did not do this 2 years ago.

***UPDATE***
I had the privilege to speak with Inga Wilson, mgt. at Meals on Wheels November 12, 2024. She resolved my issue in less than 20 minutes. Long story short, Ms. Wilson handled my mother's case, taking general information and placing me in contact with Risper (I do hope I spelled her name correctly 🙂). Risper called November 13, 2024 and was able to place my mother back on Meals on Wheels. She will begjn her service on Friday! Both, ladies were pleasant, engaged, professional, and caring. They handled my mother's case flawlessly! If I could give you two ladies 10 stars I would. Thank you both for your compassion 💐
