Voagies - Review - Westview - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Slutty Vegan’s Pinky Cole has scrapped burgers at her Westview spot and reopened it as Voagies. The new concept will feature what she calls “damn good hoagies.” If it’s anything like the last time she opened here, expect long lines. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Jacinta Howard

So I tried Voagies for the first time this past Friday, happened to be nearby and came in for a late healthy lunch. Decided on the Italian after debating chicken or seafood ones. But it turned out to be a pretty disappointing vegan sandwich- it was lackluster and too thin to be this expensive, didn't match! Also it was very odd & off putting that NOO prices of any the sandwiches were listed like why hide it!! Not cool to avoid pricing transparency & sketchy in terms of trust. Especially with the option for the 6 inch vs the 12 inches, which was about a $4 difference helps in decision. Then adding chips and drink brought the 12 inch to $20.... As they made my sandwich, I noticed that the meat layering appeared pretty thin only ONE slice!! When normally would expect at least like 4 or 5 slices of meat, so I watched to see how it would all turn out. Biting in to the voagie, flavor was good, but the thinness was so whack! And didn't give you a feel of an actual hero sandwich, which is an art as it's supposed to be THICK with meat (or substitute) in multiple layers! This veggie one was lacking in density and no substance. Really, this sandwich felt anorexic and definitely overpriced for this very thin $17 vegan sandwich and I'm flexatarian. So I may as well buy the real thing for half the price and get some actual substance and appreciate the art of a real hero sandwich/hoagie. Not this scarcity and sadness voagie was! I will not return as it's overpriced and thin presentation doesn't match the high cost. I got the wheat bread tasty and ate one half but next day bread was very soggy! But one good thing the mayo and sauce options were very flavorful and the two staff there were very nice & friendly. But since voagie was so thin, I actually, I ended up going to store to buy chicken slices to add to this pitiful vegan voagie sandwich. And to not waste cost & the bread calories to enhance my experience. Another drawback is it's so small, no inside seating only 2 tables outside! It started to rain so only got a few bites in while there sigh.

A True Hidden Gem on the Southside! This was my third time at Voagies, and every time I leave impressed. The first time me and my lady pulled up, we came a little late and they had just closed — but the bro Dougie still greeted us with nothing but good energy. He gave us the rundown of the menu so smooth, we came right back the next day! That first sandwich? I think it was a vegan Philly cheesesteak — fire. Full of flavor, hot, fresh, and seasoned like it was made with love. Dougie looked out and made us feel like we were family. Second time I went back solo — sandwich so good my daughter ended up eating half of it. That’s how you know it was hittin’! Third time? Me and my daughter pulled up again, and of course Dougie was there holding it down. This time I got the Hawaiian Slutty Hoagie (12-inch). Sweet, savory, and still packed with that bold flavor I’ve come to expect from Voagies. Every bite was a win. The food? Fire. The energy? Positive. The vibe? Always welcoming. Call me a regular now — I’m definitely coming back.

I stopped by Voagies on Ralph David Abernathy for a quick lunch, and I honestly can’t stop thinking about it. The moment I walked in, the vibe was warm and welcoming. The location was super clean, efficient, and filled with good energy. You can tell they care about the food and the people they’re serving. I ordered the Big Luca on Hawaiian bread, and wow the flavors were bold, fresh, and completely satisfying. It’s wild how they captured that classic hoagie feel with all plant-based ingredients. I also tried the Southern Chicken Salad voagie on a recommendation, and it might be one of the best vegan sandwiches I’ve ever had. Creamy, savory, and seasoned just right. The staff was super friendly and helpful even with the line moving quickly, they made time to answer questions and greet folks with a smile. It’s rare to find a grab-and-go spot that feels both fast and intentional. Voagies is doing something special. Whether you’re vegan or just looking for something flavorful and different, this place is worth the stop. I’ll definitely be back.

Pinky has done it again! Voagies is it! Love the vibe, great customer service, and the hoagies are so good. They have been open a week and I’ve already been twice (25min drive one way) It’s a great grab n go lunch spot. Everything is fresh. My favorite so far is the Southern Chicken Salad and my husband likes the Big Luca. We are so happy to have a place like Voagies and look forward to seeing more locations

Voagies - vegan hoagies. The bread is good and soft but will get soggy if you leave it in the wrap too long. All of the toppings were fresh. Chips and drinks available. Service was good. Menu display doesn’t have prices of the 6” or 12” hoagies. No inside seating and there is standing room only for about 6-8 customers while they order. Street parking in front and on the side of the corner business.

I finally tried the Old Bay Hoagie that Uri recommended, and let me tell you — it was delicious. The seasoning was bold and savory, with that signature Old Bay kick that hits just right. I customized mine with pickled red onions, sauerkraut, banana peppers, black olives with the spicy ranch sauce and crisp lettuce, and every bite was a perfect balance of tang, crunch, and spice. Even though I went with the six-inch, it was surprisingly filling — no skimping here. The flavors were layered, the ingredients fresh, and the whole thing felt like a handcrafted masterpiece. I’ll definitely be back real soon. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re missing out.

I call myself a sometarian (sometimes I eat meat or seafood 🤭); however I incorporate meatless meals most of the time. It's been challenging finding deli style sandwiches with vegan meat and cheese that actually taste good. Usually the meat tasted like paper and the cheese had an unpleasant aftertaste. I was optimistic Voagies would be the answer and they certanly were! The smell of fresh cut veggies greeted me as I walked in. The staff was welcoming and all smiles. I had the Big Luca featuring vegan ham. The meat and the cheese were perfect! Flavorful and delicious! Definitely will visit again and again.

We had the Souther Chicken Salad Sandwich Voagie and it was awesome the concept hit just as hard as the flavors. The Customer Service was friendly the entire time and we didn’t feel bad for changing our order midway. The sandwich maker seemed to be a little nervous but he still was sweet and accomplished the job. The price was “Atlanta” and the meal gave come with a few friends and some coins. We enjoyed our visit and definitely will be bac again. - Chef Yoyo & JT Truxin

Yelp
Let me start by saying--I'm not vegan. Not even close. I'm a full-on carnivore and have rarely had vegan food that I actually enjoyed, so I usually don't go out of my way to try it. But I came to Voagies to support the launch, not expecting much beyond that. And let me tell you--boy, was I wrong! Between me, my five nieces and nephews, my sister, and my brother-in-love, we ordered the entire menu. And we absolutely smashed it. Every single sandwich was gone within minutes. The Old Ba-Bay (I think that's what it's called--the seafood salad one) was my personal favorite, but only by a hair over the chicken salad, which everyone loved. Even the cold cut sandwich? Surprisingly amazing. I'd choose this over Subway any day of the week--and twice on Sunday. Highly, highly recommend. Even for folks like my family, who are as far from vegan as it gets. But we're foodies--and this is great food, period.

Yelp
The vegan alternative to traditional hoagie sandwiches! Voagies elevated hoagie style sandwiches for people with dietary restrictions. Subway has nothing on Voagies! Compared to Voagies a veggie sandwich from. Special shout out to Dougie and LaRon for outstanding customer service. They were attentive and provided great energy during my visit. You can build to our own hoagie or order one of their signature hoagies. They have a chicken salad hoagie and a seafood salad hoagie. They will let you taste both to make sure you like it. They also offer beverages, cookies and chips. Check out Voagies when you get a chance!

Yelp
I came here for lunch. I ordered the Big Luca 6' combo ($13.49) online because I wanted to avoid the long lines. Surprisedly it was not a long line. As I walked up to the restaurant, I noticed there's outside seating to enjoy your sandwich. I was able to walk right in and pick up my order. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and was helped immediately. The owner Pinky Cole came from the back and spoke as well. She was very pleasant and friendly. The sandwich was juicing and flavorful but I noticed that it's not a full slice of meat. The slices are cut in half making one slice two. That's the only thing I didn't like about the sandwich. But I'll definitely come back and check out the restaurant again and try other sandwiches.

Yelp
I've been to Voogies 7 times or more. I've aslo taken orders from my co-workers so they can indulge in the experience and they loved it! However, the week day crew is way more CLEANER than the weekend crew. MEANING, they change their gloves while preparing your food.... I shouldn't have to ask after you tuck your hair behind your ear, can you change your gloves please? These were the delivery orders... I highly recommend hair nets please. However, the voogies are delicious and I'm a plant based bitch all day! Facts

Yelp
What an incredible experience at the grand opening of Voagies! I'm not vegan or vegetarian, but let me tell you -- the food was next level! I had the Old BayBay, my wife went with the Southern Chicken Salad, and both were absolutely O-Mazing! The customer service? Just as impressive as the food -- warm, welcoming, and full of good vibes. Highly recommend Voagies to everyone... carnivores included! #Voagies #GrandOpeningVibes #VeganEats #NotJustForVegans #PlantBasedDeliciousness #OldBayBay #SouthernChickenSalad #FoodieFinds #SupportLocal #CarnivoreApproved #OMazingEats #VeganOrNotTryThisSpot

Yelp
Honestly, I'm still trying to figure out how Voagies is vegan because it's TOO GOOD! Looking forward to coming back real soon.
