Where to Eat, Sleep, and Explore in Atlanta

"The Darwin Hotel, a hip and bright hotel in the Old Fourth Ward, is chock full of art and energy. With 111 (pet-friendly) rooms in a variety of configurations, a courtyard cocktail bar, and pastries from local bakeries, it’s comfy enough for all-day lounging but built for folks who want to explore." - Nora Taylor

The Darwin Hotel in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward Is Hosting Bi-Monthly Chef Pop-Ups | Eater Atlanta

"A new boutique hotel in the Old Fourth Ward that is launching a bi-monthly pop-up dinner series in its kitchen, held evenings on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. The program will present a rotating lineup of guest chefs offering special menus, is produced in partnership with Punk Foodie, and is intended to give up-and-coming chefs exposure to a broader audience while helping them build capital beyond the regular pop-up following. The series begins with an inaugural pop-up on February 9; tickets are sold per event." - Beth McKibben

Beautiful hotel, small rooms specially the entry level. Stayed in two different rooms in one stay and it’s night and day difference. The entry level doesn’t have a closed, just some hangs in the wall and no mini fridge as well. But the critical party is… walls are super thin. Rooms in the ground floor are horrible because you listen steps from the room above… 2nd floor as well because water pipes are louddddd… Service is a flip of a coin. Some of the employees are super friendly others close to be rude… location is a good place in between downtown and some great areas like piedmont park

We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The rooms were spacious and the employees were all so nice. The room did vibrate some 😆 Not sure what that was about or what caused it. It was also in good proximity to Ponce Market, where we went to see a show at City Winery.

Great location! The sink being outside of the bathroom is a weird design choice. Also, we asked for a King bed and got 2 Queens instead. They said it was a system issue and assured us we didn't overpay for the wrong room. The service was great and everything we wanted to see was only a few minutes away. Thanks!

I absolutely love the location and vibe of this unique hotel. The staff was great at check. The bartender was polite and attentive. The complimentary champagne was even quite pleasant and enjoyable. The room was nice. Lack of a closet was a tad upsetting but me a d my wife managed. What was disappointing was the noise level inches room. We were on the 3rd floor and could hear ever single footstep above us. Even the ambient noise outside was a bit annoying. I think that's why they so generously supplied us with a single pair of earplugs. I would definitely come back as I really like this place but would definitely request the top floor.

This is a really attractive hotel and I am glad I stayed here. The decor is modern and imaginative. The staff that I encountered were outstanding. Minuses: I prefer hotels with swimming pools, which this place lacks. For a large number of rooms, there is only one elevator. I do not understand why in designing a modern structure like this, the corporation was chintzy in only having one elevator. Also, and I am nitpicking, there are no electrical or charging outlets at the desk, only next to the bed. Otherwise, it was fine. I guess it is normal to charge for parking in an urban setting.

Voco The Darwin – Atlanta Midtown by IHG is easily one of my favorite hotels in the city. Midtown has so much to see and endless places to dine, and this spot sits right in the middle of it all—within walking distance of local favorites like The Fox Theatre, Lyla Lila, and more. Parking’s a breeze, and I’m a total moth to the flame of their spacious patio. It’s stylish without trying too hard—perfect for getting a little work done or unwinding with a glass of wine from the bar. The team at voco The Darwin truly gets hospitality. They remembered me from my very first stay and continue to go above and beyond each time I return. (Michael, you’re especially an all-star.) The rooms are cozy, quiet, and surprisingly calm for such a lively part of town. Altogether, this hotel is trendy, thoughtful, and ideally located—the kind of place you find yourself booking again before you’ve even checked out. From the bartenders to the front desk to housekeeping, every team member plays their part in making each guest feel welcome. Mission accomplished, y’all.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had such a great experience at Boco the Darwin in Atlanta! I wanted to surprise a family member who was staying there for his birthday with a small treat, and Mike at the front desk went above and beyond to make it happen. He was so pleasant, helpful, and courteous. He immediately coordinated with the banquets manager and had a lovely snack delivered to the room in no time. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made the day extra special. Thank you, Mike, for your kindness and excellent service!

I’ve had the pleasure of staying here twice during my US trip, both times at the Atlanta location. My first stay was right after landing in ATL, and I was lucky enough to be selected as the VIP Guest of the Day. I was upgraded to one of their more spacious rooms, and the experience was absolutely fantastic. The room felt fresh, comfortable, and a real treat after a long flight. Both times I checked in, I was assisted by Mike, who was professional, and welcoming. On my second stay, things weren’t quite as glamorous since I was back to being a regular guest. The room was more of a standard size compared to the VIP upgrade, and the difference was definitely noticeable. That said, it was still clean, well-equipped, and offered a good night’s rest. What stood out across both visits was the consistency of the service. The team checked in with me regularly to make sure everything was going smoothly, which I really appreciated. While the VIP experience was definitely a highlight, even as a regular guest I felt looked after and valued. Overall, this hotel delivers a solid, reliable stay with friendly staff and a few thoughtful touches that make all the difference.

Yelp
A cozy hotel with nice design for the rooms and the lobby. There is a nice outdoor seating area where people do yoga and there is also breakfast with a small price. The staff here are really friendly and patient. There is no pool currently. The beds here are also really comfortable. The showers and sink facuets function well and there is hot/warm water. The toiletries they offer at the room have decent to high quality. It is also near Ponce City Market which is also a bonus. I definietly reccomend staying here when you're in Atlanta.

Yelp
An okay hotel in Midtown ATL at best in a ghetto area. My Uber driver told me not walk around at night in this area... check-in was pretty slow, one person at a time. Room was okay and the bathroom was veryyyy spacious... Small fitness center with just one treadmill, but decent amount of free weights Bar was okay... kind of weak drinks

Yelp
3.5 star experience at my recent stay at The Darwin Hotel. My friend and I were stopping through Atlanta for the evening and we found the pictures of this hotel on the IHG app quite nice, so we decided to book it. To be honest, although the hotel itself was nice, it fell short of my expectations based on what I saw online. The photos online made it give off a boutique hotel vibes, but for the price I paid my king room was alot smaller than other IHG hotels I've utilized from my other stays in Atlanta. The room was a small box, with the bed right next to the door and the bathroom sink sharing the sleeping area. The bathroom was the size of a closet and the shower was barely large enough for me to fit alone comfortably; just everything was a little too compact. We also killed two cockroaches with one of them scurrying around the headrest to the bed. I understand bugs can be anywhere, but two in one night just left my friend feeling uncomfortable to sleep. The staff were friendly though, with Mike being helpful checking us in and even offering advice on places to check out while in town. When we were checking out, due to the cockroach incident, I was given a $30 credit to compensate. Overall, I appreciated the hospitality this hotel has provided. I just wish for the price, the rooms were bigger. IHG diamond elite members do have allocated parking spaces available.

Yelp
Comfortable hotel with extremely tasteful design - super easy and enjoyable stay. Lobby has a cool design with old cassette cases and cool furnishings. Rooms are well appointed. Apotheke scents in the lobby and amenities are a classy touch. Nice courtyard in the middle with a couple of fire pits. Really enjoyed my stay. Highly recommend. Two minor negatives- Gym is small and the shower floor surfaces are very slick and easy to slip on.

Yelp
We decided to stay at The Darwin as it was a short distance from the hustle and bustle of downtown Atlanta. It was located mid-town, about a 20-30 min ride from the airport (depending on the traffic) and 12-15 drive to downtown (State Farm Arena). We were greeted by a pleasant lady who promptly checked us in. There was a jar of paper cranes at the front desk and she let us know that each guest was entitled to one in exchange for a complimentary glass of champagne, mimosa in the morning, or non-alcoholic beverage. The room was clean and spacious and included an open closet concept, a safe at the bottom of the bed and the sink area located outside of the shower/toilet area. They offered great toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap and lotion). There was no iron available in the room, but a steamer, which worked well for us. The cafe/bar area also include breakfast, snack, and dinner options ($). We had a concert to attend and the kitchen was closed when we got back (open from 5-11p). They have an open courtyard in the middle of the hotel, with plenty of seating and string lights to add to the ambiance. The bar are had an opening off of the courtyard with chairs where you could sit and drink. There was an exercise room and a microwave is available on the 2nd floor (near the ice machine). The front desk area also has a mini snack market with on-the-go treats and beverages for sale. The hotel is within walking distance (15 min.) to Ponce City Market, which includes an assortment of restaurants and shops. Across from there is a strip mall with a TJMaxx, CVS, and other stores. Up the street on the same side of the market is the Kroger grocery store and in the other direction, there is a line of fast food establishments. The only issue we had was that we went out for lunch and let the front desk know so our room could be cleaned, we arrived two hours later and the room hadn't been cleaned and waited an additional hour before we saw them cleaning another room near and telling us they would be to our room in 10 minutes. We just requested fresh towels and gave them our trash. All in all, a great small, boutique hotel that I would stay at again!

Yelp
Very clean hotel. King bed, feather pillows and pull out couch were very comfy! And all the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant! The food was great! Flatbread pizza was very tasty! However, the noise level is horrible!!!! You can hear absolutely everything. The people walking upstairs, the people talking next door, the bar nearby. No coffee pot or microwave in the room. And the line to buy coffee was long in the morning. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to sleep in or go to sleep early!! They do supply one pair of ear plugs though! HA!

Yelp
Had no idea about this hotel until I attended a networking event here, and I couldn't believe I had never heard about it. First of all, it's stunning! The staff is so welcoming and friendly, and I had a great time hanging out in the lobby, bar area, and outside on the gorgeous terrace. Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to stay overnight in the rooms, but the manager was kind enough to offer tours of the rooms. I will definitely be coming back for a longer stay next time so I can get the full experience!

Yelp
Nice service. Good location. No pool. No coffee pot in the room. No breakfast. No restaurant. Room is the size of a breadbox. Sink is IN THE ROOM. Bathroom is insanely tiny. Light in bathroom makes buzzing noise. Bed very comfortable. $30 a night for parking is nuts. It seemed like a good value until the $30 per night was tacked on...and not even for secured parking.

Yelp
I stayed overnight at the Darwin after an evening event was hosted in its outdoor courtyard. Inside, the hotel shows off its clear boutique vibes with its artfully decorated interior and small but impactful touches. The receiving area is beautiful, opening straight out to the cozy outdoor area. Each guest is welcomed with an origami crane, handmade by a staff member. The 90s kid in me was majorly excited to see the wall of cassette tapes right by the entrance. Outside, the area is...a little sketch. There's no two ways about it, I'm afraid, and there were a number of us at the event who wondered if our cars would be okay in the lot. But there are security cameras stationed around key points of the parking lot, and I even saw a parked security vehicle stationed at the corner of the lot during my stay. My queen-sized room seemed tastefully dressed and comfortably sized. The lavatory was a bit awkwardly laid out, with a standup shower and toilet in the bathroom while the sink and vanity area sat in the main part of the room. The bed was fine, but I found that the walls and floors were a bit thinner than other hotels, as I could hear footsteps, muffled voices, and doors closing in the hallway all night, even with my sound machine and ear plugs. The staff are just wonderful. They were so friendly and chatty as I checked in, and my request for a room with a fridge was honored without a hitch. If you're looking for accommodations in a fun, walkable area, this definitely isn't it. But if you're hoping to stay in place in some comfortable digs, the Darwin would be well worth a look.

Yelp
Great stay at the Darwin hotel. Awesome vibe, incredible staff, comfortable rooms and public space, and super convenient to all things Ponce De Leon Market related. Imani at check-in was super helpful, accommodating, and efficient.  She was wonderful.  The coffee/bar staff were amazing, and the jazz happy hour held Thursday night was super nice. All in all a really great stay.  I would recommend.

Yelp
Wow, a perfect stay I ended up at The Darwin Hotel based off of extensive research. I quite enjoyed the scenery and ambience presented online. Additionally, I saw that the owner of this hotel is a Georgia Tech graduate, I appreciated the down-home feel with a touch of elegance and class. Upon arrival, I was accommodated from beginning to end! The first person that I encountered assisted me readily with dropping my luggage before check in. After check-in, the next person was able to accommodate me for an important meeting that I had. Upon check out the amazing awesome Bartender was able to help me unwind as I started the next part of my travel. I'd love to shout out ALL of the staff and employees within the walls of The Darwin. Without you guys, none of this matters at all. Service:5/5 I was very well taken care of by attentive and thoughtful staff throughout my stay. Prices:5/5 I was pleasantly surprised, and pleased with the rate. Ambiance: 5/5 I am super big on energy and ambience. The artwork is thoughtful and provoking throughout, I enjoyed the layout of the courtyard, was pleasantly surprised again to wake up to a small quartet rehearsing there as well. During a rainy day, the bar was packed with guests, grounded, due to flood warning, but music was perfect for the occasion and bartenders were attentive, and quick to serve. My room was spacious and I was appreciative of the refrigerator provided with two complimentary sparkling waters . I am very grateful that there is a microwave located on the second floor next to the ice machine. Taste/Textures: 5/5 I challenged the bartender with making me some hand, crafted cocktails based off of my needs, and he nailed it with two alcoholic beverages and one nonalcoholic spritzer. Highly recommend! Value: 5/5 Bottom Line : just do it! The price point is more than fair, there is an origami surprise upon check-in, rooms are beautiful, grounds are beautiful as well, and staff is just perfect for the atmosphere. This was a staycation for me, that I plan to repeat in the near future! * thoughtful touches * - handheld steamer vs ironing set up - 2 cans of sparkling water included - open air closet system - microwave in the 2nd floor -outlets for 'all' adapters/cords (type c, three prong , 2 prong )

Yelp
I thought I was getting a reasonably priced stay in Midtown, at about $122-150 / night in a boutique hotel. This place is awful, injected with hip boutique botox, taking advantage of civil rights heroes images to create a "vibe". My bill after $100/night pet fee and $30 parking fee is actually $350 for ONE NIGHT-- buyer beware! I should have just gone to the Four Seasons. This, for a room literally smaller than a jail cell (and painted like one), people clanking and singing above me (there is NO noise insulation), cracked floors, worn carpet, no fridge; the room smelled of poo when I entered... so small there is not enough space to open my suitcase plus traverse the room / open the door / access the bathroom. Front desk guy said I was getting a "garden view" when I checked in... ends up being 3/4 a view of the side of the building.
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
Below expectations and diving. The rooms and amenities will not be included as described;if you want them, expect to have to request them and not receive them. The water pressure was mid and their water heater is set low... the room layouts are awkward with half baths, so you'll need to go back and forth while getting ready. No closets and tight quarters means you'll need to be strategic about where to put your luggage. The music from the bar is easily heard from the top floors and goes late into the night. I recommend considering checking out hotels of similar prices that likely deliver on what they advertise.

Yelp
Hello there my favorite yelpers Today on YELP I had a chance to visit with the Darwin Hotel This little hotel is nestled in the Old Forth Ward and has a ton of character Sleek and chic is the best way to describe her She has incredible seating areas to relax or have a quiet space to work The lobby is filled artwork of some of my favorite people You will find Prince and John Lewis to name a few There is a bar and snack area The hotel also offers a small menu of bites Walk out to the spacious courtyard and experience fire pits, hanging lights twinkling and comfy seating Head on over and check out The Darwin......

Yelp
Listen from the decor to the staff this spot is not only amazing but Black owned and I loved the theme of this place. I have to tell you the tour alone made me want to have a staycation.

Yelp
Adorable, boutique-style, family-friendly hotel in Old 4th Ward. The rooms were cute and cozy with the best mattress I've had in a hotel stay. There is a bar and coffee spot in the main lobby. You go through an adorable courtyard that lights up at night to get to your room. Highly recommend if you don't want to stay directly smack in downtown Atlanta but want to be close two lots of great spots!

Yelp
We booked 7 nights here for a work trip. I think my actual rating is more like 3.5 stars but I rounded down. Pluses: excellent staff (with one major exception). The front desk people have almost all been courteous and efficient. But my work colleague had to endure a check-in procedure that took more than an hour, and at the end of it, he still had to get into his room via a staff pass key (so didn't have his own key until the next day). He arrived after I did and despite very clear instructions that he was on my reservation for a second room, the clerk couldn't find the reservation for quite awhile. He finally called me at 1230 AM to confirm. More than 20 minutes later, my colleague still wasn't checked in. It seemed the clerk simply didn't know how to use the room key coding machine. We got a bit of comped food for this but the simplest of activities at a hotel was badly bungled in this case. The bar/food combo here is actually quite good and the workout facility is new and everything works. Rooms are modern and spacious. There is a nice patio area and the hotel books a fair amount of special events. But... there are some drawbacks. Breakfast isn't included in the room price, like it is at many other IHG locations. There are no coffee makers in the rooms. The windows don't open, even to a limited amount, which is a drag given the air can get a bit stagnant. There is no laundry facility on site, although there is a good place nearby. There is a $30/day parking fee even though the parking isn't in a somewhat secure garage but it out in the open. For those of us staying for more than one or two nights, these features (or non-features) were annoying. For shorter-term stays, the value is pretty good here given proximity to downtown, the Carter Center, and some of the cool, funky neighborhoods like Cabbagetown.

Yelp
I had an opportunity to check out the Darwin Hotel, when I was recently invited to a Christmas party. It's a little gem of a boutique hotel that's tucked away in the Old Fourth Ward area. I haven't spent much time exploring that part of town but was surprised to see that that Ponce City Market, City Winery Atlanta and The Martin Luther King, Jr., National Historical Site was all within a 2 mile distance. As for the hotel, it boasts a cool throwback vibe with its choice of decor that makes it feel more like a museum gallery. There's a tall bookcase of old cassettes that set the mood the moment you walk in the front door. The small front check-in desk was off to the right, the bar to the left and a decent size enclosed courtyard with fire pits and seating areas was straight ahead. The lobby has a small but comfortable seating area that's cool for meeting up with friends. A small elevator to the rooms is tucked away down the hallway, left of the bar. I stayed in a clean and nicely decorated decent size room (196 sq. ft.) with a king bed. It wasn't exactly spacious but it was adequately cozy, for a singleton like me or a couple. The room was fitted with all of the necessary accessories such as a work desk, storage, Wi-Fi, small walk-in shower, 55" television, sink and a mirror. Be mindful of the $25 overnight parking fee and the open parking in front of the hotel. I believe I did notice some security cameras outside and although location of the hotel might give some people a reason to pause, I had no problems and my stay was most enjoyable and issue free. The staff is amazing and very welcoming. I was given an origami crane, handmade by the staff when I checked-in. I can't remember why but I'll find out and update this post when I do. Until you hear from me again... celebrate everything and check out the Darwin Hotel, if you're looking for a reasonably priced hotel in Old Fourth Ward.

Yelp
Cute atmosphere downstairs. Security outside at night. Parking does get full at night. They have overflow a little walk next door. Shower was separate for the mirror- which helped with a girl group. View of downtown. Clean room. Nice staff.

Yelp
I loved everything about this trendy artsy, and vibrant hotel; conveniently located just minutes away from all major attractions. The hotel room was absolutely comfortable and spacious and decorated beautifully. My check-in was easy and smooth thanks to a front desk supervisor named Efrain Larraga. He was friendly and very informative and gave me some recommendations on places to go out to eat and things that were going on in the hotel. He was absolutely wonderful. I will definitely come back because of him.

Yelp
This boutique hotel was beautiful. I would absolutely stay again. I was originally in the cozy king, which is a small space but if it's just you and one other person, it's perfect. I was there for a race and I needed a fridge so the staff upgraded me free of charge. I originally planned to stay for one night but ended up staying for three. The ambience was so welcoming and every inch of this building is aesthetically pleasing. The staff was always accommodating. They offer a complimentary drink at check-in and they also serve breakfast in the morning for a small additional charge. If you're there on a Tuesday they have a taco Tuesday, which is very fun.

Yelp
I needed some place to kill some time between work and evening event. The Darwin was a perfect option! The lobby is so cozy with lots of different options for seating. I chose the sofa with the chaise on the end and the sun coming in the window. The bar is right there, so I ordered a mock tail that was small but tasty. The music playing throughout was a combo of r&b and pop and was perfect for the reading I needed to do. I appreciated that the bartender came to check to see if I needed anything. Around 630ish they turned up the volume a little for a happyhour vibe. I suggest The Darwin for a great spot for a small group to meet up or to sit quietly alone.

Stacey P.

Yelp
Great location and great staff. Rooms are clean and it was great to have access to the gym while away from home. Barista Emilio made a great latte and suggested wonderful spots for us to visit. Nearby restaurants at Ponce City Market and the beltline were delicious. Definitely recommend for a stay in Atlanta close to everything!

Yelp
Thanks to Booking.com & Tik Tok for helping me find this gem. Had an amazing stay during One Musicfest weekend and will now always book a stay here whenever in ATL. Very chic, unique place. Next time I will def try to snag a themed room. Staff was friendly. Loved that they had makeup towels and you're given a crane origami to trade in for champagne.

Yelp
This was an okay hotel, I mainly liked the decor and staff, those two things are what made me give this hotel 4 stars instead of 3. What I don't like about this hotel is that 1) the area was a lot more sus than I thought it would be,but it was close to piedmont park, which was where the music festival(ONEMUSICFEST) we attended was being held at 2) during our entire 3 night stay here, our shower ran cold water and did not stay warm/hot AT ALL. That alone made our stay unpleasant bc who likes a cold shower? I personally wouldn't stay here again bc I didn't like/feel safe in the surrounding area & I don't want to have to experience cold showers again. This place was semi-affordable compared to other nearby hotels but to me it was still a little overpriced based off overall quality and location.

Yelp
My stay at The Darwin was fabulous. If you're in Atlanta and want a chic, boutique hotel, This is it. The staff is so friendly and the owner just hangs out there and works from the bar. He is so kind and personable, you'll feel like family when you're there! They have such cute rooms that are so chic. Their food is a culinary experience and their signature drinks are divine. You'll love your stay!

Yelp
When it comes to sleeping, bathing & feeling safe at a hotel, we take pride in that, we initially made reservations at the Darwin but after a simple phone call to the establishment to confirm our stay, a very non-caring , rude front desk female employee we quickly changed our minds.. She answered the phone by saying" Yeah, how can I help u you " this may sound simple but it was the telephone demeanor mostly, we ask for extra bed sheets, towels , ironing board to be place in the room, she says " that's extra that's gonna be charged to your card , never-mind, we cancelled our stay .. She wasn't polite or professional. This was Atlanta Ga.. We ultimately stayed @ the Hotel COLEE

Yelp
THIS IS FOR EVENT SPACE -- NOT A REVIEW FOR THE HOTEL ROOMS! I can only speak for the common amenities, as I did not stay in a room here. I've been here twice for events in the courtyard. The setup is beautiful on a nice day. As mentioned in another review, it is not covered so cannot be used if raining or wet outside (got lucky on both occasions I went). There is plenty of seating and a little fire pit (although not lit when I was there). The bar is nice and aesthetically pleasing. The drinks are good and the staff has been nice. They are incredibly slow at the bar tho.. even when no one is waiting but yourself.. I understand the hotel is new, but it seems they hired folks who had never bartended before. Please train and / or hire to speed up the bartending service. There are TVs at the bar usually playing the biggest games at the time The music in the common area is hit or miss.. lol. The volume is often too quiet or too loud and last Saturday night the playlist indicated someone was going through a breakup. Lol I did not have to pay for parking as others mentioned -- maybe they waived it for when they had the events I attended? That was wonderful and contributed to me attending the event and patronizing their bar! Please continue free parking!! Lol The bathrooms off the lobby are also nice -- spacious, stocked, and CLEAN. Keep it up! :) Others mentioned the location not being great -- it's near midtown / downtown Atlanta.. so that's what the city looks like. It's a great proximity to the things visitors want to go to -- the beltline, downtown (aquarium, world of coke, Mercedes Benz stadium), Ponce city market, and many other spots (please also patronize local businesses while you're here :) !).

Yelp
Loved our 2 nights here. For the cleanliness and great decor, the price was good. On par with what we'd pay at nicer chain hotel, but a slightly more unique experience. Everyone was very friendly and I really enjoyed the courtyard bar area. It looks like the main complaints here are room size, surrounding area being unsafe, and parking. Room size was small- yes. It might have bothered me if I was staying longer, but it wasn't bad for two people for two nights. There's still a full size desk to work at, and a huge tv. Surrounding neighborhood: walk 10 minutes east and you hit an Anthropologie.... They don't put those stores in dodgy areas- so yeah- invalid argument! Relatedly, it's cool that the hotel is walkable to the Prince City Market- gave me something to do during the day. Parking- $25/ night is totally on par with downtown hotel parking costs. Sure you won't pay that in a hotel off the highway or even an airport hotel, But then you're off the highway and not in town, lol 10/10 would stay again

Yelp
What a wonderful stay! From the moment I walked into the moment that I exited the building, nothing but good vibes. Professional, welcoming, clean, well organized, I can't say enough. I recently had a horrible stay at a hotel in Columbus, Georgia, so my welcome to Atlanta was well received.

Yelp
Has a great bar and Blake was an awesome mixologist. He knows how to make a solid drink and makes the experience really personal. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
I loved my first visit! Will is an amazing bar manager. I felt very welcomed. The ambiance is impressive. The courtyard with the fire pits outside were so cozy. There is a bar and coffee drinks with an espresso maker. This is perfect place for work during the day and then drinks in the being. I'll be returning.

Yelp
Decent hotel near the Ponce Market. The rooms are very small and oddly don't have a closet which adds luggage to the already small space. I was very disappointed that my room was not cleaned despite multiple attempts to have it cleaned and multiple promises by the staff. When asked to move if they didn't have anyone left to clean that request was denied and i was ensured I would have a clean room within the hour. No one came and no one even brought clean towels, linens, or bags to empty our trash. Additionally, I paid for parking and had to park on the street the first night because their small lot was full.

Yelp
The 4 star is for thin walls and floors and $25/day parking fee. I think that's a bit much. And had to call front desk to get them to call room above me. Couldn't have peace until they called.

Yelp
Astonishingly bad experience. Here's my truth: A friend and I stayed here a couple nights for my birthday weekend. The location is kind of sketch, but most cities are sketch, so get over it. This one is very close to Ponce Market and I saw some good reviews, so I took a chance. Well, never again. We arrived early evening, went out for dinner and drinks, and came back late. I pulled back the blankets on my bed and saw a large, brown stain. It was faded and the sheets clearly had been washed, but ewww. I'm a nurse - i know what happens on sheets. I wanted to shower before bed (just after midnight) and there was no hot water. I waited, it didn't get better. I went to the front desk around 12:15am (on my birthday) to let them know it needed to be fixed in the morning or we need a new room please (my friend was already asleep). I tried not to be upset because i realize stuff happens. I went back to my room to sleep. Still no hot water when we woke up. My friend braved the cold shower. We went to the aquarium and came back around noon. I checked and the water still wasn't hot. I was told the manager would contact me, but no one did. I went back to the front desk and told them there still wasn't any hot water. They sent up a maintenance guy and gave us another room. I went to check the new room's water and sheets before starting to move our bags. The toilet was in the shower per the pictures below. So I went back to the front desk and the manager said she would upgrade us to the "suite" (I.e. a queen room with a sitting area) and give me half off my first night. I figured this was fair enough and was happy to have a room with hot water. That evening right as we were going to bed, I saw a fake fingernail on the floor beside the bed. It was too late to do anything about it and though grotesque, I've seen worse things in my life. The next morning when I got up there was another fake nail. My friend shook the sheets and another nail fell out. Now I'm angry, but it was time to leave this godforsaken place anyway. I never got my money back. Never received a message from the manager after I emailed her. And frankly, it was all just very upsetting. One of the ladies at the desk said they were still working out the kinks since it's a brand new hotel. I understand that, but this is pretty unacceptable. Pros: beds comfortable, cool decor, the staff were very nice (albeit, unhelpful) Cons: disorganized management, building still under construction (I guess??), dirty, only one elevator for the entire hotel, courtyard unusable if it's raining, no pool. Just spend an extra $50-$100 and go somewhere else. Don't ruin your birthday here. And yes, I am petty enough to repost this poor review on all the sites I can find. Cheers.

Yelp
I fell for the trip advisor reviews and a guy I spoke to on the elevator did the same. It's not what it seems. Tiny rooms, thin walls, no fridge, no microwave (one on 2nd floor for entire hotel), bad neighborhood with nothing around other than homeless beggers. Nowhere to eat. NO HBO Max! Only the most basic cable. TV is on the wall t I the side of the bed! You can't lay down and watch even their basic, almost over the air TV. There's barely room to move in a king room! It looks great online, but you will be disappointed at every level. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DON'T FALL FOR BOGUS REVIEWS OR THE PHOTOS! Or do so, and you'll be the next honest review.

Yelp
This is a nice hotel comfortably tucked away in the Atlanta. Upon entrance your instantly hit with nostalgia and modern luxe. The bar is elaborate but not over the top and they serve some very good drinks that are sure to say your thrust. Lastly the courtyard is a quaint area behind the bar and it is very cozy yet worthy of recognition because you can do so much in this space. Overall I am satisfied and impressed.

Yelp
I loved staying at The Darwin hotel! I stayed for two nights and had an excellent stay. The staff was beyond incredible, the room was so dang cute, and the food and coffee was perfect. I loved the courtyard seating. I did feel my room was a little small, would not have wanted to share it with many people, but considering it was just me it was the perfect size! I honestly would be back, and I would stop by for a drink sometime. The General Manager checked me in and I LOVED his attitude. He seemed to really enjoy his job.

Yelp
Everything about our stay at The Darwin was exceptional! Sherries and every other staff member we encountered was friendly and went above and beyond to be helpful and make sure we had a great stay. The location is fantastic, the beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean and tastefully decorated, and they monitor the parking lots at night so parking felt safe and secure. The most fantastic Santa I've ever seen was there taking pictures and made our stay feel even more magical. I will definitely be staying at The Darwin whenever I visit Atlanta!

Yelp
there was a lot to like here, including the very cute courtyard and welcome cocktail. It's a fairly small hotel so entry, parking were easy. however, there is a lot of interstate noise, so I found myself wishing I brought earplugs. the overall cleanliness of my room also left a lot to be desired.

Yelp
location is sketchy but the hotel is nice. very small rooms. i repeat VERY SMALL INTIMATE rooms. the decor was cool tho. has a bar at the entrance but the $25 parking fee is outrageous. was not a fan of that. customer service was ok but i will probably not return.

Yelp
Wow! The service is beyond five-star service the desk staff was so nice. They even walked us to the elevator and opened the doors for us. Upon check-in, we were given a free drink as well. This will now be the first place we look into next time we are in town. It was within walking distance from the Ponce Market as well. I definitely recommend this place, the lobby was so nice and relaxing too.

Yelp
I am always hesitant to write a poor review... but in this instance, it was justified. I booked this hotel as a stay-cation option. When we arrived, I was surprised by the $25 parking fee - given the hotel's off-campus location, I think that's a bit aggressive. Further, there was another guest that banged on the door immediately across from ours... for the better part of an hour at 4am. I finally had to call downstairs (but we were on 2nd floor, so this all should have been audible since it's open air). Horrible night of sleep. Lastly, the blinds in our room were broken, so it was SO BRIGHT from the front lights it may as well have been daylight. We finally decided we were getting no more sleep and left around 5:30 am. The front desk was kind, but candidly did very little to make it right. She gave us "free" parking. It was literally one of the worst hotel sleeps I've ever had. Which is, I suppose, why I'm writing this review.

Yelp
Just W O W , and not a good one either. How does this place have such high rating? -Hidden fees: OH yes. No where is there a sign nor mention on the website about a $25 parking fee. Tacked that on the bill. -The smallest room I have ever stayed in, including trips to Europe. -Room lay out is terrible, example, TV is to the side of the bed not in front -Probably 25 feet to a very busy road, traffic noise all night long Just a very nice stay to say it lightly.

Yelp
The overall design of the hotel is great. Comfortable rooms, great decor and the staff is pretty welcoming and accommodating. My biggest complaint is the noise that comes from the center court yard. It's pretty bad - actually really bad. If you are looking for a quiet hotel, this isn't the place for you. If you are planning on staying here I highly advise requesting a room that faces the exterior not the interior courtyard.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel. Brand new. Most comfortable beds! Friendly staff. Close to everything. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Be prepared to pay extra for parking & a security deposit. Once you pay for parking don't plan on actually parking in the hotel lot. They do not have adequate parking so we were told we would have to park in the overflow lot which was literally a strip mall parking lot. We still had to pay for parking. Don't try to pay with a prepaid card or cash because they would not accept either originally & they were very rude about it. The manager was rude both on the phone & in person the next morning. I was basically told that she was doing me a favor by not canceling my reservation that I had already paid for. The property was very pretty & clean. However the bed was not comfortable & the pillows went flat as soon as you laid on them. The walls are very thin so there was noise all night from people going up & down the hallway. There were no signs anywhere telling what time check out was & we were not told at check in. Shortly after 9am housekeeping opened our door & started into our room before realizing that we were still in the bed trying to enjoy a rare moment of sleeping in. We then had to wait for them to "inspect" our room before they would refund our deposit & check us out. The area surrounding the hotel was not the best either. It all in all ended up being a very frustrating stay, which was very disappointing considering we were celebrating our Anniversary. I will not stay there again.
