Five Best Russian Restaurants in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"The restaurant inside this West Hollywood banya is a little-known treasure. There’s no need to pay entry to the spa to enjoy the restaurant and full bar, which is open all day and night until 11:30 pm. The vibe is absolutely comfy — seriously, people will be in spa robes. Kick your feet up and order the vareniki, a Russian-style pierogi with potato filling. It’s even better having hidding the adjacent ice plunge." - Tanya Akim

yesterday was my best experience of relaxation in 4 years in America. The baths are just amazing, huge stoves and the smell of real wood like in my childhood in the village with my grandmother. ice bath😍 and towels lying in a vat of ice - this is a new level of bliss. Special thanks for the food, it was perfect. And I want to say a little about the people who work there, they really try to be very nice and caring and I felt like a princess the whole time I was there. And the massage with Nina was amazing, she found all my pain points, I am very grateful. Now I will come to you all the time, I promise🙏🏻

Our good man Danny’s been a regular here so He invited me a few days ago for my first time at Voda Spa West Hollywood (my first ever Russian spa) Everyone from the staff were very helpful and kind in every way - my experience was educational, fun and holistic - also Voda’s exclusive traditional Russians menu like the Borscht kept me balanced - to say the least:) Looking forward to attend more session within the years to come… cheers!! -George JoJo B. P.S thank you again Danny S. of websitedepot.com for the heartfelt invite 🤙🏽🎭🙏🏽🦋💜🎵🕺🎉

Terrible experience completely unacceptable behavior from management. I booked a double massage at Voda Spa last Friday as a birthday gift for my brother. When we arrived to check in, we were greeted by the manager, Ether, who spoke to us in a rude and dismissive manner. She claimed we only had one massage booked and coldly asked which one of us wanted to take it as if it were some kind of lottery. I tried to explain that I had clearly booked a couples massage and even mentioned on the phone that it was a gift for my brother’s birthday. Instead of trying to understand or resolve the issue, she waved us off with arrogance and disrespect, suggesting one of us could go enjoy the spa facilities while the other got the massage. Naturally, I refused I didn’t come to leave my brother sitting alone for an hour. We left the spa feeling frustrated and deeply disappointed, not just because of their obvious scheduling mistake (likely due to a staffing issue they tried to cover up), but mostly because of the horrible attitude and condescending tone we were met with. I will never return to this place and I strongly advise others to stay away. A spa should be a place of peace and good energy not stress, humiliation, and poor service. Voda Spa completely failed to deliver even the basics of decency and professionalism.

Google
VODA SPA: AVOID THIS PLACE – IT’S NOT A TRUE RUSSIAN BATHHOUSE EXPERIENCE! I wanted to enjoy a traditional Russian steam bath, but my visit to Voda Spa was a huge disappointment. There are only two steam rooms, and both are completely unsuitable for health and relaxation. • One steam room is so dry that it’s difficult to breathe. • The other is excessively humid, like Miami on a hot summer day! Whoever designed these steam rooms, in my opinion, knows neither physics nor proper construction codes for public spas. The stove vents in both rooms are blocked by metal doors, meaning the wet steam that should circulate inside escapes through a pipe outside! In the second steam room, you can’t even open the steam control door to add water, so the air is unbearably dry—like being in the Sahara Desert! It feels like these steam rooms were designed to suffocate people rather than provide a comfortable experience. Additional Issues: • Cold pool water is not actually cold—it’s at room temperature. • The hot jacuzzi is just lukewarm. • Dangerous pool handles: All handrails are smooth and slippery (normally, a hemp rope should be wrapped around them for grip). You can easily slip and fall! No wonder they make you sign so many waivers before entering—if you get injured, you won’t be able to prove anything. This place is NOT safe! Poor Shower Facilities: Since I couldn’t enjoy the steam bath, I decided to at least take a shower—but even that was a disaster! • Many shower stalls have broken water control handles. • The water pressure is unstable—when someone else turns on a shower, the temperature in yours suddenly changes. • For $100 per visit, you can’t even guarantee stable hot water?! What exactly am I paying for? Unhealthy Air Quality: This is a public bathhouse where people with different sensitivities wash. I have allergies, and there is no proper ventilation near the sinks. When people use deodorant, the entire locker room fills with fragrance. I nearly had anaphylactic shock from the overwhelming smell! The Worst Offense – Kvass in the Steam Room? They pour water mixed with kvass on the hot stones, filling the steam room with the smell of bread. As someone from Russia, I know this is sometimes done in private baths, but NEVER in public Russian bathhouses, because some people might be allergic to the smell. Bottom line: Voda Spa is overpriced, unsafe, and poorly designed. If you’re looking for an authentic Russian bath experience—this is NOT the place to go!

If you love Banya and relaxation with Russian style venik - it is a good place to visit at least once to give it a try. Recommend. Call them before going, sometimes it is closed for general public due to private reservations. Also check their prices regularly as they change them frequently…

Google
I love Voda Spa and come here before my pro boxing fights to cut weight! There are great saunas, steam rooms, pools, hot baths, and cold plunges. One of my go to spots!

Well thank you

Google
It seemed like one of the more decent traditional Russian banyas in LA. However, my last couple of visits were the worst, which is why I felt compelled to write this review. First, the staff doesn’t seem to understand what a dry sauna is, so they shouldn’t be pouring water on the stones and walls, even if some customers request it. This led to a situation where the hottest dry sauna became completely wet, making it impossible to stay inside and even dangerous. Everyone left after a minute due to the extremely scalding steam with a burnt metal smell. I believe the staff should be knowledgeable enough to educate customers on proper sauna usage and prevent such issues. One of the customers had to open the door to help dry it out, while the staff didn’t seem to care at all. It felt like they had no idea what they were doing. Second, the sauna becomes overcrowded in the middle of the day, and the staff doesn’t seem to manage it properly. With around 20 seating spots, the total number of guests should be monitored. People end up taking each other’s seats, and I don’t entirely blame them. A good rest in between sessions is one of the key aspects of a Russian banya. Last but not least, be prepared for a lack of hot water in showers in locker rooms. This issue was mentioned at the reception, but the response was simply, “Sorry, it happens when we have a lot of people.” Well, I’m not sure what the point of a sauna is if you end up with a cold shower at the end. The staff, in general, is very polite and responsive. One of the assistants, Milana, is especially professional.

Google
The spa itself is nice but double check everything before you pay. I got a gift card for the place and when I called to schedule a massage the person on the phone told me I got a free day use of the rest of the facilities. When I went, however, I was charged for the facilities. Then when I asked about that the person at the counter said it was just a discount on the facilities. However, when I saw how much I was charged, it was not discounted at all. It's still a nice spa but it seems like everyone working there is not on the same page so it tainted the experience a bit. The staff was still very nice.

Yelp
The bathhouse, very much enjoyed. Mushroom soup and tea are delicious. The staff is friendly. Everything with a high!

Yelp
What a God awful excuse of a spa - how this place has more than one star is beyond me. It's dirty, low class and the second my husband and I walked in, we wanted to leave. The jacuzzi had a layer of brown dirt on the foam (which I'm assuming is dead skin and the dirt of those that don't shower prior to using spa services). Nonetheless, that is on the spa to keep clean and sanitary. The cold plunge and the pool had bits and pieces of their bath brooms. As for females, it is a very male dominant spa. I knew it was co-ed going in, but there were probably 15 men for every 1 woman. There would be a group of men in either the saunas or steam room, and would be loudly speaking and laughing. No part of this is relaxing, restorative or spa like. Voda needs to reconsider its clientele. Currently, it is a trashy, dirty spa that I regret ever considering and giving it a chance. Please save yourself from this place.

Yelp
Our first visit to Voda Spa won't be our last. It was really great. Everyone was very kind that worked there. We enjoyed use of the steam room and saunas. The juice bar is also great. It was very clean (someone was always cleaning and detailing). Seriously the best massage I have ever had. It wasn't too crowded. Went on a weekend so we were pleasantly surprised. They have parking in the back as well. Street parking was also available. If I had one recommendation it would be to add more poolside lounge chairs. But overall we absolutely loved our visit.

Yelp
loved this place! Came and spent the whole day just relaxing. Got an amazing massage which was much needed...The staff was so friendly and it was overall a wonderful experience. Will be returning soon!!!!

Yelp
Prices are exorbitant for the somewhat lackluster and dirty environment.. cold plunge is seriously cold and feels great but something is just off with the lounge area and bar.

Yelp
I'm an athlete and consider Voda a vital part of my training /recovery routine. My team tries to come to Voda for sauna / cold plunge every week. The team members at Voda are extremely kind and welcoming when we enter the spa. For our routine, we start out in the hot tub, order a green juice or smoothie. Sometimes jumping into the large pool which is cold but refreshing. Then start the hot / cold therapy -- going from sauna to shower to cold plunge, then to the next sauna and repeating the process for 3-6 cycles before getting some snacks. We usually order Pelmeni dumplings, salmon jerky, the voda salad and mint tea. While I love the hot / cold therapy, it's even more amazing to get snacks and food during the process. From here, we often do another few cycles of hot / cold therapy before going to the locker room to shower and change at the end of our time. The locker room has amenities -- toothbrush, hair dryers, razors etc. I love the large open area where the hot tub, pool and cold plunge are situated. The lighting is slightly dim with the blue emanating from the water. This creates a very relaxing environment -- perfect for recovery. Heather is so sweet and cares for the clients that visit the spa. Plus, she asks feedback to make the facility the best recovery spa out there. I highly recommend - either solo, with a friend or with your team -- to make this a regular part of your routine.

Yelp
Best for serious sauna/cold plunge! I mean the real Russian way. It's amazing; scary and a little "painful/shocking" at first, but once you do it a few times, you're like a new person.

Yelp
love Voda! Been going for years nothing compares. Great service food and brand new style saunas. I could easily spend 8 hours here. Upscale clientele as well. Perfect place to pass through or make part of your weekly self care rituals.

Yelp
I came in for a facial with Merrie and had a lovely experience at the spa. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and hospitable and the check in process was smooth and easy with barely any wait time. The facial from Merrie was super relaxing and in depth. She also explained each step she was doing as well as the products she was using and its ingredients, which I super appreciated! The red light therapy was my favorite part towards the end of the service. I definitely would recommend Merrie at Voda Spa especially if this is your first time for a facial.

Yelp
So glad they're open again. Their prices have increased a bit since pre-Covid days, but that just means we go less often. The exclusivity of it also adds to the vibe (it's not crowded and the people who go there appreciate the services. It makes for a better crowd). Everything here just hits the spot: Staff: friendly and helpful Ambience: perfectly relaxing. Great spa area and lounge Food: delicious I've never gotten a massage here but my friends have - nothing but compliments from them. I usually just use the spa services (sauna, cold plunge, steam room, jacuzzi, etc). A couple rounds of those. Then go to the lounge, mind and skin feeling like a God. Order some great food and relax. Then back to the spa. If the cold plunge is too cold for you, go to the lounge and order a couple drinks. That liquid courage will help you jump into the cold water.

Yelp
Such a relaxing spa in the heart of WEHO! I went for the first time and can't wait to return. The amenities include a steam, 3 saunas, swimming pool, hot tub and cold plunge. Doing circuits from hot to cold is so good to the body and removes water weight, bloating and stress. Plus they have an amazing restaurant on site to get drinks & traditional Russian food- I love the borscht! Don't forget to checkout their list of treatments or just enjoy a day pass. The amenities are coed so bring a swimsuit. Sometimes the vibe feels social but can also have zen time. Perfect for a date night, girls night or self care :) I love the staff too... very friendly!

Yelp
I recently visited this spa, and I was highly impressed. The customer service was excellent, and the facilities were clean. Mina, my masseuse, was truly amazing. She paid great attention to the pressure I preferred and had a wonderful energy throughout the session. I left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. It was a bit pricy but worth every penny!

Yelp
Voda Spa is consistently amazing! I have been visiting routinely for about a year now, and they never let me down. It's got all you need and more. The staff is always welcoming, the food is always delicious, and I always feel great after my visit. It is THE spot! me and my body are grateful for VodaSpa!

Yelp
I read about reviews before I went in,despite all all the bad reviews, i decided to give it a try.i should have trusted the reviews . The spa is very small, people on their phone, they talk loud and no one to tell them anything, water of the pool was filled with bleach.my eyes burt the entire time I was there.massage trupist was late.not a leak of english.burley explained to her work on my mom leg.i bought a 80 min massage ,she got my mom out of room in 60 min then came back and took her back inside again.very unprofessional. They handed us a small bottle of water after massage, which they charged $3.00 for each bottle. Worst part of my experience was when I got home,my mom swim suit was pailed.firt I told her ur suit is old laughing about it,then I got home, looked at mine, mine was ruined with one visit to voda spa.if it wasn't bleach in the water and was chlorine, then it was too much of it for my suit to go pail.i decided to call the mand give them a chance to explain,Heather the facility manager spoke to me and told me she would talk to one of the partners ans call me back, she did as she promisses with offering 50 dollar gift card for next visit.i spent 700.00 in one day and I'm super pissed about their customer service.she said the partner said we check the water in daily basis and there is no way there is something wrong with the water.here is the pic of my suit before and after voda spa. Somehow she thought offering 50 dollar goft card will make me go in and ruin my skin and my suit once again, like one time wasn't enough.my sking been itching since and is dry as a desert.willnot go back even it it's free .lesson learned.

Yelp
So I decided to give the place a second chance and came back with another friend today. Had a great experience like I used to before and was pleasantly impressed with another manager on duty, a lady with blonde hair (unfortunately I didn't ask her name) and everyone was very friendly and we had zero issues today. I saw this manager walking around and checking the space few times so everything was immaculate. Amazing bortsh and service at the restaurant, great banya, clean and private. I look forward to coming back actually!

Yelp
Voda Spa is a true haven of relaxation! With multiple saunas, a steam room, and a cold plunge, their array of amenities is impressive. The friendly staff provides exceptional service, ensuring your every need is met. From the moment you step in, you're enveloped in a serene atmosphere that invites tranquility. Whether you're enjoying the various saunas, indulging in a rejuvenating steam session, or braving the invigorating cold plunge, Voda Spa offers a delightful escape from the stresses of everyday life.

Yelp

Yelp
The first time i walked into Voda i was honestly pretty nervous. The first time i walked in i was alone. But the second i said hi to Heather I felt completely at home. She greeted me at reception and i could immediately tell i was among friends, and over time we've become family. Voda is the perfect remedy to a long week. Schedule a eucalyptus session in the sauna and i promise you you'll never want to leave. Voda is the definition of relaxation. I feel so comfortable bringing new guests and spending the day resetting together. I've made a lot of friends with the other members and i always look forward to coming back. 100 out of 5 stars. See you in the hot tub.

Yelp
They are thieves. First of all they want you to leave a valuable thing with them in order to use a Spa, otherwise they won't let you in. it's comment only a thief would operate their business that way. On top of that they offered a monthly membership to pay $65 a month, to pay $75 enetnrace fee instead of a $100. And according to them you can bring as many new guest for one time for free to use the facility. " they even have a sign for that at the front desk" but they charged me every-time that I brought a new guest at full price. They told me only once a month you can bring a guest, which clearly they advertise and told me, you can bring as many new unregistered guest one time for free. Shame on them. Extremely I feel Ripped off and will not go back their again..

Yelp
My husband has been going there for 15 years. I've been there multiple times over the years also. Fimas borscht was one of the best in LA. Whatever we had yesterday on 10/15 wasn't his. We had stomach ache all night. That hearing special with cold potato and tiny herring has to go also. Disgusting! Please fix the venitian plaster that looks like faux marble next to the cold plunge. Also that glass door that leads to "quite room" lol. Have the workers pick up the towels from dry banya more often. They laying there for 5-10 minutes sometimes.I'm sure most of the customers don't mind paying $1000 of dollars per visit, but please make it worth it. On positive notes: Heather doing great job. She is a gem. Daniel new bud tender is very nice guy. Female Masseuse was superb. Very strong hands. Great atmosphere. Beautiful design. Big parking and marquee spa. We still love you guys! The best spa in LA
google avatar

Ashot A.

Yelp
Of course, this is not exactly a Russian bath, but probably one of the best baths in Los Angeles. Delicious food and a cozy place.

Rex E.

Yelp
I have been looking forward to this place since before the pandemic. I think it's still finding its way again. It just seemed half-hearted but priced very high-end. Also found it odd that you had to either buy tiny bottles of water for 2 bucks or ask staff to get you some tap water. It's a heat-based spa, so you need a lot of water. But yeah, admission of a hundred bucks means a one-time try for me. Knobs were coming off on shower controls, odd weak spots in the floor. Barren rooms with no buckets for dousing like every other Russian spa I've ever been to. Depressing.

Yelp
This has to be the worst spa ever. I decided to come here last minute because we could not make our reservation at Glen Ivy . First I do not recommend this spa if you are a woman. This spa has a very masculine it feel to it. Big hairy men walk around the spa area while the spa plays wrestling on the TVs. This spa has no soothing music, so it's very bland in there. It was my home girls birthday and decided to take her here, I felt so bad because this spa was not what we expected. During the checkout process, the guy did not know what he was doing on the register. I guess he forgot to charge her six dollars for the sparkling water she bought and as we were getting back into my car after leaving the spa, he comes running outside, pretty much chasing us down asking us for the $6!!!!!!!!!! He acted like that it was our fault and like we were some type of thieves. On top of having no music, the staff there didn't make it any better. As we were in one of the saunas, all we can hear was the staff gossiping about the crazy weekend that she had. Not to mention the bathrooms are very outdated and raggedy . The only thing that was good about the spa was the Fiji water that I bought for $6. Again, do not waste your $100 to get into the spa.
google avatar

Melis P.

Yelp
They tripled entry price to 200$ I been in the best saunas and spas in the world voda spa not even coming close to good ones And I never seen such a ridiculous entry price They think they are only one in town Go to La Citi spa on pico even better banya Never will come back here ever They turn Previous Crematorium to spa Ridiculous!
google avatar

Taylor L.

Yelp
To be honest, I'm not much of a spa guy and had a little apprehension about going. But I've never felt more comfortable or welcome than during my visit to Voda Spa. From start to finish this experience was serene and I left feeling like a brand new man. Didn't think I'd ever publicly say I enjoyed a Facial (pause) but 10/10 if you're in need of a good unwind take a trip to Voda Spa!
google avatar

Tanee M.

Yelp
I would give this place zero stars if I could. I have been itching like crazy since I visited last. They don't have their chemicals balanced correctly and I've broken out and can't stop itching. For the price that you pay to go here, it is definitely not worth it, especially when half of the rooms aren't working. This place used to be a crematorium and they turned the furnaces they used into saunas which creeped me out. The only thing that is great is the staff that work there! Especially Carlos and Moses!

Weronika R.

Yelp
The best spa that I ever went to. The front desk is extremely nice and everyone makes sure you have a great experience. Everything is very clean and in order. There are plenty of showers to shower in between jacuzzi and saunas as well as couple saunas around the spa so you never feel crowded
google avatar

Boobie K.

Yelp
Way overpriced for what it is, especially compared to the other spas in the area. You can get like 4 trips to other spas for the same amount as 1 trip here. On top of this, they offer a free mini massage for your 1st visit but they don't tell you that. I noticed this "promo" on a sign at the end of my visit & when I asked about it, they said they would not honor the promo because I didn't have an appointment. Save your money...
google avatar

Avo A.

Yelp
We called a few days before going to confirm that they will be open on the day that we will come. We drove 1 hr to get there on the day and they tell us that the ENTIRE place is reserved. Very unprofessional, lying to us and then telling us there is nothing they can do.

Andrea R.

Yelp
this is one of my favorite places to visit when i need a reset/recharge. i look forward to the sauna & cold plunge then having the blueberry smoothie & repeat till i'm so relaxed all i want is my bed. it's truly me of my favorite places to visit. if you want an amazing massage ask for nina!

Yelp
Voda Spa is the best spa in southern California. It's a Russian Banya type of spa, which is amazing, from the dry banya(220*), wet banya(230*), eucalyptus steam(109*), Finish sauna(180*), salt water jacuzzi(105*), salt water pool(75*), and the wonderful cold dunk(45*), to the awesome juice bar and open glass walls meditation room and in the front part of the spa is a great full service bar where one can order great food prepared by a five star chef(scrumptious favorites like, hot meat or veggie borsch, russian potatoes(reminds me of the french fries my mom would pan fry when i was a kid), chicken dishes, pastas, delicious salads, and if you are one who likes salmon or fish jerky they have that also. So you bring your girl or friends and spa out for several hours, eat like kings and queens, and banya, cold dunk, jacuzzi some more for the best time of your lives. A great part of the process is you can get facials, totally relaxing massages, energizing body scrubbs with exotic salts or sugars, face clays to detox the skin and the piece de resistance is a platza that detoxes your body from negative influences of the universe and they get washed down the drain. A platza is performed in the 220* banya with two oak leaf branches(veniks) that are waved over your prone body(first on your back side then you flip over to your stomach side) to create air heat and as your body temperature rises the veniks are gently and firmly patted on your skin with a cooling sprinkle of cold water every once in a while and when your are done you go out to the cold shower and shower off the detoxed negative energy down the drain, then step into the cold dunk pool to finish the detox rebirth experience by calling into your life what you want manifested. A truely spiritual experience.

CeeLp G.

Yelp
They doubled their prices and made it members only so that nobody has to wear a mask, which is gross. Now they want an extra $150 to access the facility, even though they're charging over charging $200 for a basic massage. So $350 to go to Voda for a day??? NOT WORTH IT. I was a regular but I will NOT be coming back.
google avatar

Lynn M.

Yelp
Voda Spa is a Royal Queen of All Spas! My hubby and I had an amazing and memorable experience in the coed environment where we were together in the sauna, steam room and pool. For the very first time, we experienced a Platza massage with Venik in an enormous and very hot sauna. Right after, as my therapist instructed, I dipped into a cold plunge pool, and once I got out, I felt a peppermint-like tingling throughout my body. The therapist explained that the tingling sensation that I felt was my blood circulating which is apparently very good and healthy for the body. Voda Spa is a state of the art facility with elegant and contemporary design. In addition to massages, facials and a variety of therapeutic treatments, it also has a café serving healthy meals and a full bar serving premium drinks. Our experience was magical and we are both coming back!!!

Yelp
I think this is the best experience I've had in Los Angeles. Let me explain everything in detail. The whole place looks as if I came to VIP place and will pay for this several hundred dollars, but all of what I got was $55. When you come in, you hand your ID to the front desk, so they write your name and info down. After that you go to the changing room, which looks amazing. They have all of the stuff that you might need - sandals, bathrobe, towels, shower gels, shaving gels, body lotions, and all other stuff for free (included in $55). You also get your locker where you set up your code. The place looks very clean and pretty. The saunas, spas, and swimming pool are clean and set up very comfortable and nice. They also have a restaurant, a bar, and an outside pad area. The customer service is on point. There are enough staff members there to help you out with anything you might need. One guy helped me find towels, water, outside pad area, and explained how everything works. Other staff members helped me with my payment after the spa and with food we got at the restaurant. They never make you wait and help you right away. The spa is perfect. All banyas were very nice with the temperature and were very comfortable. I felt like I was having the best time for this whole year. There are not a lot of people on Wednesday, but it's also not empty - somewhere in the middle. The community there is friendly and nice to others, no one was rude or impolite. They have 4 different saunas - 2 russian banyas, 1 turkish sauna (steam sauna) and Finnish sauna (they also have another one for extra price). The swimming pool is 8ft deep, while they also have a jacuzzi and very cold pool. The food at the restaurant was very good (from what my friends told me). I only got Creme Bruelee, which wasn't so good (that's a desert). I attached pictures of the food we got. The service was quick and it wasn't expensive at all. My desert came pretty late, but the server apologized several times and explained that they had a problem in their kitchen, so it wasn't a big deal. They all got cool water with ice and cucumbers (very refreshing). Overall we had a great time and I will definitely revisit this place.

Yelp
This place is my favorite escape, recovery spot and place to chill alone or with friends!! the staff is incredible and caters to your every need. I love the exclusivity and ability to feel so comfortable while taking the best care of myself. Thank you Voda!!

Yelp
I've rarely been so under-impressed. The staff at the front was less than friendly but I can live with that provided the service is solid. I had a "deep tissue" massage which started out peculiarly not deep at all. I asked the masseuse if he could go a bit harder, which to his credit he did, but apparently he couldn't do so with his fingers, only elbows. That would have been ok except that I don't think he had much experience or he was simply an unskilled masseuse so my skeleton and other areas that aren't really in need of a massage did get a good rushed 45 minutes. Honestly, it felt like a worse version of the $25 foot massage places (honestly the $25 foot massage places are much better quality for deep massage). It was frustrating given the $130 price tag, but I figured the front desk would be somewhat sympathetic when I informed them (maybe he was new, maybe deep Tissue isn't his thing) I figured wrong. They asked me how it was and I told them honestly it was pretty terrible. They didn't seem very concerned. Instead of apologizing they asked if I would come back and try someone someone else. For another $130? No thanks.

Yelp
Voda spa is a different experience than most spas in the area. Particularly because they offer the platza service where you get slapped by leaves drenched in essential oils in a HOT sauna for 8 minutes. I absolutely loved this service but what I did not love is paying $50+ for entrance to this spa which is in need of major renovations. I also did not like how I bought the platza service yet still needed to pay an entrance fee. Also, you'd think this high entrance fee would at least give you some spa cucumber water or such, but I was drinking my water from a water fountain! I went on a Wednesday afternoon with barely any spa guests there and was told to wait multiple times throughout my visit by different staff members. It was my first time there and no one communicated with me or really even gave me a tour even though they said they would. I was left in the women's changing room waiting on one of their attendants for a good while. I had to leave and find her. When I was ready for my service at the time scheduled, I couldn't find any employees in sight. Spent time waiting for the platza too. Overall, cool place and great platza service BUT they should really consider either lowering their prices to match the condition/service of the spa OR renovating and offering better service to match their price. 4 stars for the platza. Otherwise, everything else sucks and I could've had a better spa experience elsewhere for the money I spent.

Yelp
My daughter and I went to this spa to get a break from a difficult time we were both going through and to get pampered.. I booked A couple massage, we got our massages started 15 minutes late , I didn't complain as my goal was to have a relaxing afternoon with my little girl so after our massages, we moved onto our lunch and so we ate at the bar then onto the pool and decided to leave .. Showered and left BUT on our way out , they over charged my bill pretty much in everything we did , they tried to charge me $75 on our massage when I booked the same , so they made us wait 20 minutes aside while investigating, "RUDE", then added smoothies that we never was served or drink , after a long and very stressful back and forth , pool stuff came to confirm that we were never served a smoothie but the manager said if a smoothie was made for us we had to pay for it "CHEAP, VERY CHEAP" The pool stuff responded that they Berber made smoothies for us .! After being push aside and asked to wait for over 45minutes , being humiliated as everyone was looking at us like we did something wrong , TERRIBLE, coming to this SPA. I never thought that I will leave it feeling worst that ever. Not even an apology, I was choked mostly when I tipped $80 total ! But the worst is yet to come .. My little girl and I end up catching a skin disease there psoriasis and eczema all over our body !! I contacted them on IG letting them know of the whole night mare my kid and I were enduring and they completely disregard us !! I spent a lot of money in this spa and then had to pay doctor bills and Medecine multiple times . Still dealing with it as I'm typing this , I'm documenting everything and will take it to court if I have to. As I won't tolerate a such poor care , it is very abusif . THE WHOLE THING TURNED OUT TO BE A NIGHTMARE THAT WE PAID A HIGH PRICE FOR .. ZERO STAR that is what I'll give , 0, a CHILD IS SICK BECAUSE OF THEM AND THEY DONT CARE , IM SICK BECAUSE OF THE DISEASES WE GOT FROM VODA SPA

Yelp
Mostly a male dominated spa, I know this has nothing to do with the actual place but if you're a woman looking for a relaxing spa this place isn't it. We got stuck in the jacuzzi with two guys that wanted to talk to us about sex... made us feel very awkward. No to mention we went to enjoy the restaurant/bar that doesn't open until 2pm but isn't written anywhere online. The staff wasn't very friendly or accommodating. (With the exception of one guy who was at the juice bar) Wouldn't recommend this place to a friend or for a girls day spa at all.

Yelp
I booked a couples retreat massage for my boyfriends birthday. I was looking forward to relaxing and unwind side by side as we received our custom massages in your own candlelit private retreat. Needless to say my day was RUINED by the masseuse I was assigned his name was JOSEPH this guy literally did nothing but rub oil on my body he did massage me at all. At check out I informed them of my dissatisfaction and they offered me 20% discount what a joke !!! The message was $115 and you offer me 20% off. This was once my favorite spa to visit and bring friends I will never return they cheated me out of a massage and basically stole my money. If they give you someone by the name of JOSEPH Run and run fast because he really doesn't no a thing about proving great massages... My boyfriend was massaged by SHTIK she did an excellent job he was very satisfied we where also assisted by RICKEY he was very friendly and helpful. Overall when you visit a spa you expect to relax and enjoy that was taken away from me. I no longer recommend this place they need to hire and train there masseuse b

Yelp
Going to this place for several of years, I've watched first hand the steady decline. To elaborate on this one star review, it stems from a couple incidences. But what ignited this, was the treatment during my services the other day. I booked a 50 min massage and a 50 min facial for a total of 265$. My masseuse was 3 minutes late, and after asking me to get under the covers spent 4 mins outside of the room not giving me a massage. Not trying to seem cheap but if you prorate that, that's just under 20$ wasted. Not a big deal cause the massage was decent. After my massage I had a a 10 min break between my facial. So i went straight to the waiting room. After 25 min of waiting (15min) after my scheduled time I asked the front desk what's the hold up. They said one sec, I waited 10 more min. Finally I went down and said what's going on. They finally said "sorry the client before decided to add on, so we won't have time for you". Frustrated on so many levels, but calmly I said do I get some credit. They said no. But when I was 15 min late for my appointment they charged me and said they couldn't take me because it would ruin theyre schedule. Not fair how this rule only applies when it's in theyre favor. For the price they charge you can refinery find a place with better service and customer care.

Yelp
This was my first Russian spa experience. Overall the experience was good but the price of the massage left me reeling. Went for a friend's birthday. I believe it was $55 a person or couple for entry (not sure since the bf paid). We were going to get a massage but when asked what kind of massage I said i preferred hot stone. I have no idea why but it's only available in the 80 min session. We didnt know or ask if it was more expensive and were not told the price either. It turned out to be $199 per massage and we weren't put together since we didnt ask? You'd think a couple would be put in the same room. Not a big deal but would have been nice. The facilities are very clean. Each gender having their own locker room with full showers and amenities. The jacuzzi/sauna area has a juice bar and various temps of saunas and ice cold dip if you can handle that sort of thing. The little restaurant/bar served some pretty good food and drinks but we were bent on having Jones down the street so we didn't sample too much. I get how people stay here all day although it's new to me. You just forget about the outside world for several hours and relax. I just wish we were made a bit more aware of the pricing or given the 'menu' of services at least. I know its weho and it's not typically a cheap area but $199 for 80 minutes was quite a rude awakening after a relaxing day.

Yelp
Not my first time at Voda but I'm always happy and relaxed when here. So I recently went again this week as a new mother ( I'm still breastfeeding my baby) and was worried about not pumping at Voda. When checking in I asked the staff if they had a room for me to pump and they did! Once I was ready to pump a women staff kindly took me to a VIP room and there I did my thing. FYI...the VIP was pretty cool! Thanks to Voda I was able to stay longer.

Yelp
As always my reviews start at 5 stars and work my way down from there. Every business get the benefit of the doubt, so let's go over why this place gets 2 stars. 1) Staff. I walked in and purchased a gift card so my girlfriend can get a massage and enjoy the spa (which i would join her for afterwards its coed) and was greeted by Dwayne i believe. He is friendly, good customer service, did his job well. Upon arriving for the actual appointment there was a sign up saying steam room is closed for maintenance no discounts or refunds. Dwayne was not behind the desk, this guy seemed to be part of ownership I'm not sure but he didn't give a F. I was like "not the best thing to see when you set an appointment a week in advance huh?" The dudes response? "It's been down for a week bro, you don't have to come today". Where was Dwayne? Lol -1 for the impeccable asshole at the front desk. 2) the facilities are nice but too many old towels laying around. Would be nice to see active maintenance. -1 for not maintaining cleanliness. 3) they have lockers with codes which is great, only the gentlemen who unlocked my locker didn't tell me how to lock it then went on lunch. My locker remained unlocked for about 30mins. Hard to relax when your wallet is free for the taking. -1 for not being on top of security 4) Water is available from a drinking fountain. It's $55 to get in an no chilled water spa type treatments on that front. Locker room style water fountain. -1 for pettiness and being cheap. 5) the saunas are amazing. 220 degrees of punishment lol. They feel like underground cellars with a pizza oven in them. Pretty cool. Really, really hot. +1 for great saunas. The facilities are nice but that's expected at $55 for 4hrs. You're experience may vary based on the staff. They have nice staff ie bar tender and smoothie girls but the front desk guy NOT Dwayne is a POS. Makes you feel like you're a piece of shit for asking questions. Zero customer service. I spent over $200 and while relaxed, had a bad taste in my mouth from the bitter ass front of house and slap your face signage. "You don't have to come here brö" Thanks, i will no longer BRO.

Yelp
Clean and neat. There are four saunas...and all of them are super hot. We didn't try the pools so can't say much about it. I wish the women lockers was bigger. It's so small that it barely fit four people. As for the massage, it was definitely lacking. We were never told that there is a 15 additional dollars for each massage because we prefer to be in the same room. Additional, we had their best massage and it felt like a Swedish. Would not get a massage from them at all.

Yelp
Used to love coming here. Bow they've outpriced 95% of Los Angelinos with this membership situation. Was always kind and respectful when I came and would always get services. I hope they consider returning to their old ways so I can return and have a bowl of borscht.

Yelp
I have been coming to this spa for years now off and on. This last experience left me when much disdain for a spa I once felt was one of the best. I took my boyfriend for a nice massage, or what I hoped would be a nice massage. I have had salt scrubs and treatments here that were amazing...over a year ago. So naturally I thought the massage would be amazing as well. I was sorely disappointed with my own massage, I almost had the nerve to ask to see this guys certification if he even had one! He had zero technique, and left me sore for days in my neck. When I asked my boyfriend how his was he was polite and told me it was okay but not the best, but I know he was just being nice because he didn't want me to feel bad about choosing this spot. I will never go here for a massage again. The spa is clean, but apparently business meetings are okay and chatty customers have zero respect for the other people trying to relax in peace. Why are we talking so loud in the sauna!? It was my boyfriends first time here and the guy who took him for a tour left him in the hall and didn't show him anything so he was lost when we parted ways and had to go ask the front desk for help. Not good customer service if you ask me. I also wasn't given a robe and had to go to the pool guys to ask for one, not sure why they neglected to make sure I was taken care of? Overall based on this last experience I would not want to come back and I didn't feel comfortable at all. This place used to be so much nicer.
