Robinson Street Volcano Sushi Bar & Hibachi has officially become one of those places I keep coming back to—and this was visit #3 for a reason. The food is consistently wow every single time. And here’s the best part: I’ve also eaten at the Moore, OK location, and the quality is just as consistent there too. Same great flavors, same attention to detail—no drop-off. Yes, the sushi is always the star—fresh, clean, and beautifully put together—but on this cold, chilly day I switched it up and ordered the Nabeyaki Udon Soup and the Ika Gaso (deep-fried calamari legs)… and I’m glad I did. That udon is comfort food done right: a deep, rich broth with plenty of chicken, vegetables, and noodles—hot, hearty, and exactly what you want when the weather turns. And the calamari legs? Crispy, flavorful, and addictive—the kind of appetizer that disappears fast. What really seals it is the service. Our server was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which makes the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable. 10/10—fantastic and absolutely worth the stop. We love dining in here and have been as a friend group for awhile. Place could use a deep clean but their food is always really good and they have a large selection on their menu. They also have patio seating when the weather is nice.

Food was perfect, even with the fish eggs forgotten on the rolls, but the service left room for desire. The host was on a video call of some sorts when we came in so she had to ask us 4 times how many people we had, all while still going back to talk to the person on her phone. Like it's 4 o clock at a restaurant and workers can just not work? The server just came to the stand and got us. Server checked on us a couple of times but other than that was extremely emotionless and kept on looking at us funny. The inside is also clearly not as friendly for a dine in spot as the location in moore is and the only TV was just playing some Spanish news where there were half naked men working out the whole time.

Sushi was great! High quality ingredients. Service is terrible. A little disappointed with how great the service and food is at other locations. I was expecting the same experience. They had a lot of 2 groups seated at family tables and booths. We came for a table of 5 and had to sit outside. Our waitress got our waters quick and after that. Wow. It took about 20-25min to see her again and order. We got here at 6:15. Didn’t get our food until 7:35pm. She kept forgetting about us, I’m pretty sure she forgot to put in our order. Half way through waiting, she stepped outside, saw us, eyes wide open, made a sound, and went back in. Other people who were seated after us got their food before us too. Not sure if I’ll be back to this location. I hope others have a better time!

We were both very happy with the quality and quantity of food. We both ordered off the hibachi menu. This was my husband's first time eating Japanese, he was definitely impressed. We will be going back soon.

Hands down one of the best sushi experiences we ever had. Food was fantastic and some new rolls we had never seen on a menu and all the flavors were on point.

First time trying this place was on my birthday yesterday! 10/10 sushi was fantastic and great portion sizes! That's all I wanted for my day and it hit the spot, will definitely be back!

Service great! Price points are good for fresh and yummy sushi. The avocado fries were the show stopper. Enjoyed sushi, crispy chicken, tuna, and avocado tuna.

When we entered the restaurant it was quiet and calm. I think we got there just before the lunch rush. But I enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and flexibility with seating. I will say as of service it was neither great or bad. She was kind but didn't feel like she was very attentive. Now overall I enjoyed the sushi and thought it was well balanced. Now the Chicken Karage was definitely the best ones I've ever had and highly recommend. I ended it off with a strawberry crepe cake which was light and sweet exactly what I needed. If I'm ever back in Norman OK I think Id definitely stop by again.

Another great time with my family. The service was great. Love buy 1 get 1 half off on Tuesday's! As always the rolls were delicious. My dad loved the hibachi chicken and shrimp and of course I got several rolls. Also it's better to come early in Tuesday because it's gets packed quickly.

Such a Norman staple! The sushi is some of the best I have had. Another plus is the menu has pictures of EVERYTHING. The restaurant is also very clean. 10/10 recommend

Five of us dropped in on a late Saturday afternoon and were immediately seated. Service was prompt, food came out quickly, and our server was friendly and efficient. We tried a variety of items from appetizers to hibachi entrees to several sushi rolls: Spring rolls, jalapeño yellowtail fried calamari, kani (crab) salad, banzai roll, superstar roll, thunder roll, spaceship roll, and filet and chicken hibachi entrees. They have a full bar including sake. Their menu is expansive but has helpful pictures - we enjoy food with our eyes first, right? All in all, Volcano has a wide variety for all kinds of tastes, from sushi to cooked dishes and hibachi entrees - makes for a fun place to go with a group or even on your own.

DO NOT EAT HERE! Sushi connoisseur here, to call this a sushi bar is a stretch. Dinner at 6p on Friday 4/11/25 and ate on the patio. Restaurant cleanliness 1 star Patio needed to swept still had debris from the winter everywhere . Windows were filthy inside. Sushi not fresh and not made to order, pre-rolled, possibly leftovers from lunch or the night before Avocados brownish green. Fish dried and dated. Didn't finish our 3 rolls Tipped the waiter 20% and left for good. Service was a 4 out of 5. Terrible food.

The sushi was great, everything tasted fresh and it was a great balance. I got the hibachi dinner was delicious and it filled me up. I tried this place randomly, I'm visiting family from out of town. Took a shot in the dark and it was Sooo worth it.

I ordered chicken hibachi for carry out. The rice was soggy and didn't taste good. Most of the chicken was undercooked. The entire entree was sitting in liquid. Not a great experience.

This place was not busy at all. Seating was immediate. It was a beautiful day so we opted to sit on the patio. (The inside of the restaurant was freezing cold.) food was great but we missed the lunch menu by literally 5 minutes. I do wish there were smaller portion options available after 4pm for hibachi.

I'm giving this place 3 stars but only because I can't leave 2.5 stars. This place wasn't the greatest but it wasn't the suckiest either. I came here yesterday with my husband and daughter for a little dinner date and it wasn't busy which was extremely nice but my god did they take forever to bring out what we ordered. My husband and I got the sushi for 2 and my daughter wanted the bento box. We waited about an hour and a half for our order to be served. I when we got the sushi it wasn't that fresh. The fish was room temperature and really didn't have much flavor. My daughter loved her bento box which was a good.

I love this place with my entire soul, body, and mind. The service is so good at this location. Not to mention the prices are so good for the quality of food.

Wow what An amazing first time experience! The hot saki, the atmosphere, the staff, and the food were impeccable. Thank you! I highly recommend the Tataki, okc, and thunder roll.

The ambiance and service is great but the food is not. I have been served moldy food more than once which concerns me of the cleanliness of their kitchen and ingredients. Not to mention they have gotten my order wrong multiple times.

My son and I go there and it's a small place but great food and service. If you have time and want some good sushi I'd go.

One of my favorite sushi places ever. I definitely recommend getting the fried squid for an appetizer. As for entrees, they have an abundance of special house rolls, the majority of which I had never heard of before. Very friendly and quick service, even with a lot of costumers. Definitely recommend!

First time at this location. We had only been to the Moore location but they were not open due to a fire on re-opening night. However it had been months since we had our Volcano and we couldn't wait any longer. The decor was much more modern and upscale than Moore. Okay so there's the only difference! Service...so great! As usual! Menu...same Food...incredible! Did we order our usual with a couple tries? Of course! Did the hubs and I stop eating when we were full? Silly rabbit, we aren't quitters! Always get the crab stick appetizer, you won't regret it. Our go-to roll is the Double Crunch and Lucky Lady. I'm not a raw fish girl but the hubs and oldest kiddo are. The current fav is the Texas Bomb. During the lockdown, we tried a few others and believe me, we were so excited when Volcano reopened. The flavors are bold and the service is great. A must go!

This restaurant is my new favorite restaurant in the Oklahoma City area! Service - Outstanding and friendly. Ambiance - Nice, quiet and clean. Food - Very unique and delicious; beautiful presentation! I found this place today by accident, because I was actually thinking this was Coolgreens restaurant, but I guess it closed. But, I'm so glad that I found this place. I can't wait to take my wife here, next time I'm in the Norman area. My only suggestion, is to change the music. The volume was perfect, but I would have preferred to hear some traditional Japanese music. I had the avocado salad and grilled squid. The food was so amazing!!! Definitely will come back!!!

The one in Moore the food is amazing. Service is amazing. Restaurant is small and quaint, clean and they really make you feel like they want you to be there now the Norman restaurant they never talk to you they seem disinterested, and they never give you the complementary crab Krispy Krab, when you walk in and sit at the bar, also at Norman the spicy edamame is never saucy and cooked right the one in more it's always perfect and they always want you to be there and always interact with you

But unfortunately now I have to say that the service here is terrible. I came in by myself today and sat there for at least 10 minutes without anybody acknowledging me. I had to flag somebody down to even get a drink meaning they didn't even bring me water

It's a good place! I've been twice now. Awesome sushi and food. I'd recommend the lucky lady roll, it's a popular one. Totally worth the price, which is pretty high.

Before coming to this Volcano Sushi Bar, I have been to the one in Moore, OK. I loved it! So when I came in my expectations were pretty high and let me tell you, WOW. They did not disappoint. We were in a rush to eat, but the waitresses were so nice. They tried to get us in and out so we were not late for work. We started out with miso soup. It came out hot within minutes of ordering. Then we order the empire and fire dragon role. The empire roll was fried topped with salmon. The fire dragon contained salmon and topped with scallops. They were amazing. I would recommend those or knockout if you want something a bit spicy. Definitely worth trying. And their bathrooms -- wow !!!! They were cleaned and well kept.

I've gone many, many times and it's always been excellent. Service is great and the food is even better. It's also reasonably priced, I've had far worse sushi for much more money. If you aren't going for sushi the hibachi is also really good and surprisingly cheap.

I come here very often with my good friend. Food is great but the service is absolutely awful at this specific Volcano Sushi location. Our server yelled across the patio asking us for our drinks last time we went, then took forever to take our order. Eventually our food came out and nobody came to check on us even once. Then they proceeded to rush us out by bringing the checks out super early and didn't ask us if we wanted togo boxes. They charged us for the wrong things and messed up splitting the ticket 3 times in a row even though it was only a party of 2. Surprisingly upsetting considering we are weekly regulars. The good food is the only thing bringing us back at this point!

Best sushi in Norman. Prices are fair and the rolls are tasty! The service is friendly and super fast. We've only ordered takeout but the restaurant itself looks well out together.

We have been going here for about a year now, and the food has been consistently good. But our visit last week was awesome. We ordered the salmon sushi, yellow tail sushi, tuna sushi, unagi sushi, mackerel sushi and a salmon skin roll. Everything we ordered was so fresh and amazing. Better then it ever was before. It was the best visit we have ever had. I'm not sure what changed, but they just made a good thing even better. Good job! It was so good, we went back the next day and ordered the same thing. Oh, the staff is always very nice too as well. Not sure if they have a new sushi chef or new buyer. But if you are reading this review, you need to come check this place out.

We love this place! The food is always perfect and the waiters work their butts off to make your dinner experience pleasant. We have a lot of favorites here but we always order the spicy edamame. If you aren't sure what to order ask them. It's so freaking good! Who knew sushi could be amazing in Oklahoma?!?!

I enjoyed volcano sushi bar & hibachi. I went during lunch and got the lunch special hibachi chicken with friend rice. The food was very flavorful and I was able to save half and eat it later so you get a pretty good amount. It also come with your option of soup or salad.

It's really simple, sushi is OK but the service is disgusting. Feels like a cafeteria, I went there with my dad not a date and I realized it would be embarrassing to go here on a date. Stay away if you have the intention of feeling like you're at a restaurant, if you wanna go to a cafeteria this is your place...

We come here often. However this afternoon was a very bad experience. We had to ask for waitress to take our order after sitting for 20 min. We asked for a California roll with no cucumber and ended up with extra cucumber. Order also took extrA Long considering we were one of only a few tables. They can do better but this time was a really bad experience

This is the best sushi around. I always get mine to go but the workers are so kind. The place is very clean and everyone is working so hard to get orders out. I've never had a bad meal here!

I have eaten twice at the Brookhaven location of this longtime Moore and OKC sushi/hibachi joint and the fact that Volcano is branching out more has not resulted in the quality of the food suffering. Service is very good and there are always plenty of people around to help with drinks or to clear your table. Every employee I have encountered has been very friendly. I had had several of the appetizers and rolls. The only appetizer I would not order again would be the negimaki, the pan fried beef wrapped scallions. The beef was tough and the sauce was too sugary for us. This probably prevented me from giving 5 stars, it's really the only negative experience I have had at Volcano. I have had several of the "special rolls" and my 2 favorites are the Texas Bomb and Lucky Lady. Lucky Lady is one of the best rolls I have had anywhere recently. Volcano has a lot of spicier rolls, which I love. The AK-47 and Dragon are also favorites. A buddy I was with ordered off of the hibachi menu, and the value is great on these meals. You get a lot of food and I had a couple of bites and it was better than average as well. I will likely continue ordering sushi, but if there are those in your group that prefer the hibachi they will be pleased. Both times I have been the restaurant was either full or close to full. Hopefully this means the NW side of Norman will have Volcano for a long time. Recommended.

Sushi was really good! So we're appetizers. Fried rice was very bland. Service was ok, but I think they might have been understaffed.

The service was bad and so was the food they threw our food on the table and then started begging for a tip then stole my brothers card and refused to give it back and they were yelling at us

They have a really good lunch box deal!! Good sushi for Norman and lots of options that aren't sushi! The past few times I've been the rolls haven't seemed very fresh but it is sushi in Oklahoma so you can't expect much more lol. If you're looking for a casual sushi place/cheap lunch that's a lot of food this is your place!

WE WENT for a Saturday night dinner today and were seated at a cramped table but it was ok...their area was quite noisy with a group table of 8 or 9 people were yelling and vocalizing very loud..our order was taken and brought back in a timely manner after that we got our drinks and appetizers but then the waiter disappeared after a half of an hour and watching him service a single table of eight going back and forth and never coming to our table for our dinner order we decided to leave and go to another restaurant we paid and even left a 25% tip just to say we feel servers need to be supported but that this restaurant is just not worth going to unless you have a lot of time to waste...after all it's rare fish rolled up in rice ..not cooked etc and there are other japanese restaurant right around the corner with the same food that tastes the same and with japanese beer and good desserts and more comfortable seating and same prices..why aggrevate yourself when all you want to sit..order..and eat a meal without aggrevation from a very noisy restaurant and poor service

Who ever said this is the best sushi in norman has the pallet of someone who smoke a crack. The hibachi was absolutely flavor less. Have you guys ever heard of salt?! 250 bucks for what? Never again

Nice clean restaurant, sushi and teriyaki chicken were okay. Not my first choice for Asian food.

Coming from out of town, I have no idea where to eat in this small town. Yelp had one review before me. I went to another sushi place the day before and was disappointed so I went here today. To my surprise. Awesome food, great service, clean and new, big tv for sports and they hooked it up at the bar. See my pictures. Yelp reviews don't do this any justice yet.
