The museum was great and interactive. We were also greeted by a cute little cat called Aristide!! He was the best part of the museum and loves to climb on shoulders. I’ll definitely come back just to see him again. So cute

In my opinion it’s the most underrated museum in the whole of Bruges but it’s the best one. We unfortunately were in a rush and couldn’t admire the collection properly. If you have some time, please visit this museum! Especially if you have kids; the whole tour is enriched with activities for the small ones, and it’s super interesting historically speaking. I highly recommend to combine this museum with the visit in the windmill, 5 minutes from here

In my opinion the best museum in Brugge! The interactive nature of the museum allows the kids a little freedom to learn and enjoy the history! We play with the old games and enjoyed a beer in the garden! This was our first museum here and it set the bar that all the others couldn’t quite reach!

Easy to explore, no crowd, friendly staff and interesting and engaging displays. H A quiet area with fun games and other points of interest sprinkled throughout.

One of the best in town. A lot to see, to touch or to smell. I have tried clogs for the first time) and also the cat!

Great museum showing how life used to be. So much has changed in the last 70 years, many trades and skills are disappearing. These exhibits bring the past to life.

Self-paced museum where you can explore different historical scenes. Our kids enjoyed the interactive parts which were in some of the rooms and the garden, like weighing coffee and playing the throwing games. Has a bar and a nice courtyard to sit outside.

Yelp
The staff were incredibly friendly and very helpful. All the exhibits were well maintained and informative. We especially enjoyed being able to try on clogs and play games. The highlight was the museum cat. Be sure to say hello. Wonderful experience! 10/10.

Yelp
Most towns have a museum dedicated to life in the past of the area. The Folklore Museum in Bruges is second to none. Very well laid out with good explanations in four languages. Nice, old, buildings with modern extensions which lead to the gardens. Each area is devoted to various industries and life of the area. From the schoolroom, not a lot different to the UK in that era, to tailors, hatters etc etc. Extremely interesting and, as a bonus, a Black Cat bar at the end of the visit.
