Atmosphere was pleasant. Cute dogs either passing by or dining in with their owners. Menu had great options. Only downside was the amount of staff. They had 1 working the bar. 1 working the kitchen. And 1 waiting on everyone. Makes it hard to catch their attention when there's 20+ ppl dining in and you need your check, or if they forgot to give you utensils to eat. Nearly impossible to flag them down. But otherwise good vibes, good food.

Google
Great food and a friendly server/bartender. Loved my “not so skinny dip” with waffle sweet potato fries. The clam chowder is phenomenal. It is on the pricier end for a pub but worth the treat on occasional!

Google
Super delicious lunch and dog friendly! Such a nice spot, close to the beach, friendly staff, yummy food, full bar, happy day!!!

Google
I got the hash with the egg and sausage but they gave me an over easy egg and I had to send it back but everything else was nice. Tons of beer options.

Google
Looking for a place to eat and have a few beers with a parking space available. this is the place. I went with my wife, order a couple of drinks, and the order something to eat. The food was really GOOD. order something with TUNA and fish and chips.. The service was great, prices reasonable, and the ambient was kind of turisty and local at the same time. But with good vibes. its a PET friendly bar.

Google
Love this spot! Food is great and the service is even better. I super love that they have a dog menu. There's always a good beer selection on draft!

Google
The Pineapple Express was one of the best Chicken Teriyaki dishes I have ever had. My husband and daughter had the Phoenix Sandwich which was also great! Loaded Nachos were actually fully loaded and delicious! Great Bloody Mary and amazing service too! Dylan was great. Love that dogs can be on the covered patio! Great experience and want to come back in again and again!

Bertrand Nocella

Google
Good food, they customized my burger to my taste which made my experience better. The place is full of puppies 🐶 which makes the experience even better. Only down note, is that the TVs are not functioning and didn't allow us to follow a game as we were already sitted...

Ashley G.

Yelp
I tried one of the bowls that came in a pineapple! Was actually surprised it was amazing! It's like a teriyaki stir fry with rice and pineapple, Highly recommend! Such a cute place, around the corner from OB noodle right up the street from the dog beach. I wanted to try something new, a lot of locals stop by. The service was great, stop by soon!

Yelp
Recently attempted to have breakfast at Voltaire with business associates on Sunday June 9th. According to Yelp, they open at 8:30 AM, Google lists their opening time as 9:00 AM, and their own website, as well as the sign on the business, states 9:00 AM(see the photo). However, upon arrival, we were informed by the bartender, who I found to be unnecessarily rude and crass, that they would not be open until 10:00 AM. Despite the conflicting information and the clear sign outside indicating a 9:00 AM opening time, we were unapologetically told to "get out." It's my personal opinion that this experience was handled poorly and unprofessionally. As someone who values good customer service, I believe it's important for businesses to ensure their employees are courteous, and the business be clear and consistent about their operating hours. I hope Voltaire can address this issue and improve their customer service to prevent future misunderstandings, but I won't hold my breath - there's way too many better options on the area anyway.

Yelp
Ok so went in early Sunday morning before the beach crowds show up. Service and ambience, spot on great for OB. The food was a different story though. No steak this morning, they're out, huh. Ok so let's try the sausage, eggs, and biscuits and gravey. It came out on separate plates, where's the sausage patty? The biscuits were a whole 1/2 inch tall, the do make Pillsbury Grand Rounds, and the gravy lacked sausage flavor, at least to me. Here come the sausage patties, cut in halves? Huh. So my wonderful server picked up on it and swapped it out. Next up the Short Rib Hash. The beef and sauce were good, eggs alright, helps when sunny side eggs of the whites are cooked. The potatoes were not cooked but halfway, and that's more than half the dish. So no more breakfast here, I'll stick to walking a block to Newport establishments. I'm going to try dinners here I'll let you know

Michael S.

Yelp
Went there to watch the soccer game. None of the TVs worked, they were out of a bunch of drinks. The staff were doing their best. We felt bad but we wont be going back.

Yelp
I recently visited Voltaire Beach House and had an exceptional experience. Arriving at noon and their bottomless mimosas were available until 1 PM, I was wary to order them because I didn't think that I would get my money worth. The service was outstanding; our server, CJ, was incredibly attentive and made sure I got my money's worth of bottomless mimosas, keeping my glass full right up until the cut-off time. For my meal, I opted for the "Not So Skinny Sando," a short rib grilled cheese. It was absolutely delicious and packed with flavor. My companions were equally impressed with their choices. They enjoyed the short rib flatbread, the short rib burger, and the chicken and waffles. Each dish was met with rave reviews. The beach vibe of Voltaire Beach House adds to the overall experience, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. I am already looking forward to my next visit to try more of their fantastic menu. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I used Yelp to find this bar/restaurant. I was in the OB area for a workshop. I never heard of Voltaire Beach House...thought I should be spontaneous. I was lucky with parking. I walked into a live trivia session which created a fun atmosphere inside. Although I was pressed for time, I ordered a Beachin Cocktail to hold me over until my Baja Bowl with Shrimp. Here's my overall review: + 1 star for my Beachin' Cocktail...swwweet to my liking ;-) + 1 star for the trivia on Wednesday evening...found it entertaining - 1 star for the food...maybe I shouldn't have mixed it - 1 star for the wait...when I arrived I told the waiter I was in a rush - 1 star for allowing pets indoors when there is an outdoor patio (against their policy as seen in the picture)...are there exceptions on trivia nights?

Yelp
One of the best experiences I have ever encountered here. First the bartender/waiter was a really cool dude. Receipt said Dillan so I'm going to call him Dillan. He was very welcoming, attentive and polite. Big thanks to him. (Tattooed from neck to face) just wanna make sure he gets his well deserved service recommendation. Food 5/5: My wife enjoyed the chicken sandwich and I enjoyed my hefe burger. The chicken was well cooked, never seen such a perfect over easy egg. It just made sense. The el hefe burger was just beautiful. Tender and well seasoned meat. The carne asada was beyond amazing and made the burger perfect. Normally I either add or take from a burger but their burger was so good that it didn't need any modifications or additions. Not even ketchup or ranch helped the burger. It was perfect the way it was. Drinks 5/5: Drinks are pricy but when aren't they. They were so good I had to get seconds. He knows what he is doing and man, they are addictive. Service 5/5: Welcoming and great service. Simple as that. Seating and environment 5/5: Great music, great service, dogs are welcomed. This place makes a weekend much better after a long week. Overall. MUSTTTTT VISIT. Enjoy this place and will come ASAP!

Yelp
Great service and the food was so good and came out piping hot. We got the Pineapple Express and it was delicious. This place is super dog friendly and even has menu items for your pup. Good vibe and overall fun place.

Rachel K.

Yelp
This spot is a good choice for brunch. The ahi poke was delicious, the crispy wontons are where it's at. Some places use tortilla chips, so I love that this place had the wontons. We loved the chicken sandwich! The veggie toast was yummy. We loved Dillion and Tara! Thanks for the great service. Loved sitting on the patio near the fire place, the vibes were great. Oh, we loved the puppy bowls with chicken and veggies as well.

Tori Y.

Yelp
What a great lunch spot! Came in and sat at the bar - plenty of seating available. We sweet served right away and even enjoyed a Mur maid shot- what a great recommendation!! I ordered the pineapple bowl and was not disappointed!! First, it's super cute because it's served in a pineapple, but there was still surprisingly a great amount of food in the pineapple. And on Thursday's, flatbreads are $2 off what a bonus. The only negative was one of the guests in our party got a michelada and they used a premade mix vs a homemade bloody mix, but she said it was still pretty decent.

Charlotte R.

Yelp
We came early on a Thursday and it was pretty much empty so we had great service and the food came out quickly. The skinny margarita I ordered was strong but not overwhelming. The Packed Bowl was aesthetically pleasing to the eye and filling. I loved the coconut ginger rice but felt so-so about the kimchi. Still recommend.

Brody W.

Yelp
Great food and a friendly server/bartender. Loved my "not so skinny dip" with waffle sweet potato fries. The clam chowder is phenomenal. It is on the pricier end for a pub but worth the treat on occasional!

Yelp
While on vacation in OB with our dogs we were looking for dog friendly restaurants that were in walking distance from our motel which was located at the entrance to dog beach. The restaurant was a short 6 minute walk from dog beach. When we arrived the bartender told us to take a seat wherever. We ended up sitting in the back of the bar area. The bartender told us about the hitches for the dogs and brought them a water bowl. We ordered sliders which were AMAZING! The El Jefe burger. This was by far one of the best burgers I've eaten. Carne asada tacos which were actually a lot bigger than I expected. Chips and salsa which was fresh and actually really good. We also got a cob salad. The hard boiled eggs were cooked perfectly and it came with a lot of bacon. I added chicken to the salad. It was a little bit on the dry side but had good flavor. The restaurant was spacious we were able to sit at a decent size table with out being smooshed. The music was good started off with som 90's R&B and then some alternative music. The restaurant was very clean and I liked the decor. Your basically sitting outside but inside. The bartender was our server. He was a tattooed gentleman who was very friendly. Made good recommendations and he had a cute little girl helper bring out waters. When we return to OB we will for sure be back!

Liz L.

Yelp
I had a bad experience here. I never even got to order. My husband and I sat on the outdoor patio on a Sunday morning. We were at one of the high tables and I noticed they were large dogs on the ground under the tables of literally every table that surrounded our own. Something sent one of the dogs off, and it started lunging at another dog. All the dog started barking at each other, and pulling on their leashes while their owners were barely able to control them. I admit, I am not comfortable around dogs. This was a scary experience. After a few minutes, everyone seem to get there very large dogs calmed down. We were getting ready to order, when the whole thing started again. Loud barking from five or six dogs, owners trying to restrain their own dog. We got up and left, and will not come back.

Yelp
Yuck. Never have I ever paid so much money to NOT eat my food. I'm not trying to be mean but this was ALL bad, everything we ordered was bad. We decided to stop in this restaurant on Friday night since my first choice was too much of a bar vibe for kids. Voltaire beach house is also bar vibes and the crowd was mostly younger people but it wasn't as turnt up as my other choice. I wasn't overly excited to eat here but I also didn't feel like driving around looking for a restaurant. I thought, how bad could it be? They definitely answered that question. The kids ordered chicken tenders and fries, these tenders are hugeee and look so unappetizing, they hadn't eaten in over 6 hours and still refused to eat this stuff. We ordered chicken wings for the table which I asked to be cooked well done (extra crispy), they showed up and were pale and bland, these were also left on the table. I ordered the packed bowl, which comes with rice, kimchi, and steak, with an egg on top. Talk about tasteless, nothing was seasoned and how do you manage to make medium rare steak so tough it's hard to swallow? Hubby ordered the Baja bowl with chicken and steak and asked for no sour cream. Of course the bowl shows up with sour cream, the chicken is literally white, and the steak is just as bad as mine. The server was decent but either didn't communicate the things we asked for or just forgot, either ways it wasn't busy enough to warrant not getting what we asked for. One plus could be that they are dog friendly and do have actual meals for dogs BUT for me the idea of dog hair flying around and landing in the food or them sneezing on something was off putting.

Yelp
Great vibe in this place and loved that it's dog friendly! Our server was super cool and helpful. All our dishes were good - I got the Pineapple Express and presentation was 10/10... I'm still thinking about their coconut rice it's SO good!

Lilliana C.

Yelp
Let me just tell you that from the moment we walked in the door the bartender was super welcoming! And I love that !! Me and my husband were waiting for my dad to get out his drs appointment and decided to grab lunch ... the first thing that caught my attention was the 60s 70s rock music that I absolutely love was playing ,, the bartender gave us our menus and waters and she was very kind . My husband had came here before with his business partner and he recommended the Baja bowl , although I ordered something els but I had to try his plate too ,,, the Baja bowl has juicy steak cut in piece, with avocado ,pico de gallo , the steak lays on top of a bed of rice and black beans along with a tomatillo salsa on the side , the tomatillo is a tangy green salsa and wasn't spicy , it was perfect! I had the Pineapple Express (love that name!), it's teriyaki chicken with rice ........ the chicken and rice is served in a pineapple cut in half , the chicken was mixed in with red bell peppers and onions , the rice has shaved pieces of coconut! It was the best rice I've had it goes so well with the teriyaki. For drinks I had the strawberry mash I forgot the ingredients but it was so refreshing and has mint must try ! For beer they have many options on tap and bottle . It was downtime and our food was brought out promptly . I really enjoyed my food very much with my husband , he's such a foodie like me , the food is just mind blowing very healthy fresh and delicious , listening to cool music drinking my refreshing cocktail , such a good vibe ! I really give this place 10/10 for my overall experience and definitely coming back when we're not in a hurry ... thanks to the cook yoire killin it keep making delicious food !!!!!

Kim G.

Yelp
The Ahi Poke starter is very good, what a great combo of ingredients served with the most delicious fried won tons - yum. Also had the Beach House Salad, a hearty, tasty salad. Also had the fish and chips - fish was bland, chips were soggy. Nice staff, large selection of beer. Good place.

Dan R.

Yelp
Stepped in today for some brunch. The place was a little busy but nothing ridiculous. We sat it took about 25-30 to be greeted by our server. Then it took her another 30 min to come take our order and bring our drinks. I asked for a condiment it was never brought to me. Drinks were not refilled nor did she check on us at any time And on top of all this she never brought the receipt, yet she would sit and talk to certain people for long periods of time. This was my second time here and I will not be back

Mark J.

Yelp
Have you ever driven past a bar or restaurant and said to yourself, "I have to try that place sometime"? Today was that day and Voltaire Beach House did not disappoint! This dog friendly bar/restaurant is a great spot to chill over lunch or dinner and enjoy your favorite beverage. TV's all around and of course the characters of OB grace this casual space. My wife, dog 'Farley' and I were greeted by our server Dillon, who was both welcoming and helpful with our menu choices. This day he attended to the 5 or six tables that were occupied and poured beverages, not missing a beat. With Dillons help we ordered clam chowder to start. The chowder was classic New England served with some chopped bacon on top..... a perfect starter for a cool day. Entrees were next, starting with the 'Shortie' Bowl'. Perfectly braised short ribs served in a large bowl with an assortment of vegetables in a deliciously seasoned sauce. My wife called it a 'Sunday Dinner' in a bowl. My entree was the 'Pineapple Express' which was a chicken and vegetable dish served in a pineapple with coconut ginger rice...... absolutely delicious! While the menu has a lot of interesting and I'm sure delicious choices, the two we enjoyed today would be hard to beat! So, next time you're in OB, seek out this established restaurant and bar, you won't be disappointed! Oh and Dogs are welcome and can order from a dog bowl menu!

Danielle C.

Yelp
Loved this place. my new go to when visiting OB(san diego) with my pooch. There is food for me and yummy dishes for my pup. Outdoor seating is a must for San Diego Beach scene. Cheers!!

A S.

Yelp
They were able to accommodate our party of 20 within a days notice. When I called to make the reservation the woman I spoke to was extremely friendly and very efficient. Out waiters were great and worked fast. Food came out in a good time given our large party and it all looked good. I ordered the fish and chips for myself and it was delicious! We were all really satisfied with the quality of our meal.

Skye D.

Yelp
The food lacks that flavor "wow" factor for the price, service is extremely slow, which is totally fine if you are going to relax and stay for a while, but don't show up hungry. Going during happy hour is about the only reason I would opt to go here without being asked to go. Very dog friendly.

Ivan S.

Yelp
We used to love this place but since the new owners have taken over, it's certainly not what it used to be. Food quality has diminished a lot--the chicken sandwich was a full half breast and is now a thin slice that barely fills the bread. Fries aren't nearly as good--cheaper brand? And they got rid of the awesome 11 - 6 happy hour. Only good thing remaining is Dylan, the bartender. Super sweet guy and excellent service!

Danielle N.

Yelp
Food was good, atmosphere is a little loud. More of a lunch/dinner/ bar vibe. The EBLT was good but it was very loud even with no one there. Good spot to watch a game or get drinks.

Marilyn G.

Yelp
Once again OCEAN BEACH restaurants never disappoint me, all the places I went to eat in OB always have good food. This time we ended up at "VOLTAIRE BEACH HOUSE" The first thing I noticed is that the place has good vibes. The woment we walked in their Bar Tender at the bar was very entertaining to all of the customers. The place is packed, but luckily one family was already done eating and we got a table. We were greeted by an awesome server named CJ, a cool guy, he talked to my son about his hair, since they both have long hair. ;) The Food that we ordered here: *PINEAPPLE EXPRESS BOWL - This one was really good, it came with coconut ginger rice and sautéed Teriyaki chicken served in a pineapple shell. This one is really good !!! *THE PACKED BOWL - Flat iron Steak, green onions, coconut ginger rice, zucchini, bell pepper, cabbage, and toasted sesame seeds *POTATO CHIP CHICKEN SANDWICH - Chicken breast, garlic aioli, lettuce, tomato, bacon, avocado, toasted Sourdough, and topped with a sunny side up egg. *THE SHORTIE - Short rib, roasted baby potatoes, cherry tomato, zucchini, blue cheese, crispy onions, maple bourbon glaze. *WELL TEQUILLA MARGARITA drink All in all the foods here are all good, our server CJ was awesome. Also, the place is DOG FRIENDLY and they even have a DOG MENU so that they can eat too!

Donovan S.

Yelp
I love the "Not So Skinny Dip" short rib sandwich which is BOMB! But went with the "Pinnacle Express" tonight and was not impressed. The rice had way too much coconut and the 4/5 pieces of chicken left me with more to desire considering it was a chicken teriyaki dish. The Pineapple was only for show, there's no pineapple in the dish unless you want to go digging. Appreciate them accommodating us so close to closing time just wish ordered something else. Server was great and def will come back

Megab R.

Yelp
Had the Volt Burger on Saturday. It was the best burger I've ever eaten. I have honestly traveled from coast to coast, being from the east coast originally and this is my favorite. It was juicy and the combo of flavors went great together. My husband has the chicken and waffles and he said it was "pretty good", which coming from him means at least 8/10.

Lauren H.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick lunch to catch up with friends and it was the perfect spot! Food was yummy, drinks were good, and service was even better! Definitely will be coming back again!

Sam S.

Yelp
We were just walking around trying to decide where to eat when Voltaire Beach House caught our eye. I was excited to try the biscuits and gravy weekend brunch special, which ended up being a generous portion of tasty food for a great price. The sangria pitcher was also a good price; it didn't taste very strong, but we did feel it a bit afterwards, so I guess it must have had some alcohol in it. I loved the open-air design, but most of all I loved how many cute dogs came and dined here. The dogs alone are a reason to visit.

Tanya B.

Yelp
The pineapple express bowl is such a gimmick. It seems cool and it will get you in the door, but it tastes like dog food. The shortie bowl had such mismatched flavors it makes it impossible to enjoy. The bar service was not that great either. I don't recommend.

Frank B.

Yelp
Food was very good, drinks are amazing and our bartender Dylan was awesome! Very great chill atmosphere at this place. Would def recommend it!

Danielle B.

Yelp
This a great spot that has both good (strong) drinks and a solid menu. The flatbread, poke and sandwich we ordered were all delicious. We also showed up unintentionally before a trivia night (Friday) and that was lots of fun!

Hannah B.

Yelp
There's not a single thing I can say negatively about this place. The vibes are immaculate (great music, open space layout, bartender super attentive), and the food is phenomenal. If you are looking for a place to hang with friends and get good food, tasty drinks, AND dog friendly - Voltaire Beach house is the place.

Laurie W.

Yelp
We enjoy this place, but stopped coming because somehow there is always a man in the parkinglot on the phone, cussing and pacing back and forth like he's on drugs, upset about $ he's owed, etc. He's been there, on the phone, the last 10+ times I've been there and looks like Jessie Pinkman from Breaking Bad. He is always pacing the vicinity of the restaurant and we stopped going because he stressed us all out so much. Fantastic food & drinks though!

Ann H.

Yelp
What is there not to love about this place? I came on Easter for brunch and was surprised there wasn't a wait. All the food was delicious and they are super dog friendly (which was initially how I first found this place). I ordered the biscuit and gravy combo which was so good while my husband got the short rib hash. My kids both got the kids brunch which came with eggs, bacon and toast. We also got a whole pitcher of Sangria for $13. We all cleaned our plates and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The bonus for me is they serve dog bowls! For $6, my puppers got a huge fish and rice bowl that looked and smelled good enough for human consumption! Definitely so happy to have discovered this place. It looks like they have awesome daily specials as well so I'll be back to try those and have brunch again.

Dan A.

Yelp
I know mondays not a big bar day but you have to go on Mondays for the bartender Darlene. She's always so bubbly chatting with all the customers. Always playing the best tunes.

Jeff R.

Yelp
I normally come here a few times a week, but today was a new experience. I got to meet George, who is a apparently one of the owners. Nice guy but, wow. Out of nowhere a he appeared behind the bar, removing glasses and offering drinks. My first thought was he was a coked out regular but found out he was an owner (his wife is the owner apparently because he puts it all in her name?) After pouring what seemed to be 3/4 glass of vodka for a Bloody Mary, I watched him say he needed to grab another bottle and disappear into the bathroom for over 10 min. He came out with even more energy and seemed a little bit out of his mind. He kept coming around asking if we were OK while the bartender on duty was taken care of of us. Just seemed unnecessary. Thank god this guy isn't here all the time or I'd have to find a new local spot.

Nora H.

Yelp
Great spot to watch the game if you can nab a seat. Food is really good and the staff are really friendly.

Amanda R.

Yelp
Bottomless mimosa at 15.95 they have guava or oj on the weekends. Avocado toast though was meh. Have had better but it's dog friendly by the beach, cheap prices toast was 11 Dollars. Servers are nice. Not a bad place to come to!

Jay N.

Yelp
My friend and I took our dogs here yesterday because I used to like this place, but our experience yesterday changed my mind. The service was terribly slow and our server was a condescending teenage boy who was shamelessly trying to push us into buying more expensive items that we didn't like or want. We ordered an appetizer that never arrived, he refused to work with us to split a dog meal up because our dogs are small by gaslighting us and saying it wasn't a big portion, yeah maybe not for a pit bull but for a chihuahua and two toy poodle mixes it was perfect. We ended up getting an extra one and the dogs couldn't eat it, and when we asked for the bill after waiting for way too long we were presented with a digital card reader and told our totals without being presented an itemized check. The total seemed off, so my friend asked for a bill and he printed one and gave it to her without any explanation of what happened, did he remove the app or not and he then became demanding to my friend saying all she needed to do was sign. The only thing he changed was his tip to 22% and my friend wasn't able to change it. We decided this child wasn't worth a scene but it left a terrible taste in our mouths and we won't return. He kept saying the bill was so high because of the service charge, but the menu states that's only for credit cards and I used my debit card so it shouldn't have even been charged. Don't go here unless you want terrible service and to be ripped off.

Ari A.

Yelp
Ample seating, tons of dogs, ability to turn burgers into gluten free bowls, delicious drink and hard seltzer on tap. I love when my group of friends all orders the same thing... we shared the wings and all got a version of the burger. No one complained and it was the best way to end our sunset surf Thursday afternoon.

Bernadette J.

Yelp
They have good food, good service, and good employees that are honest and provide a pleasant experience when going there for a meal. Also, they have a small parking lot adjacent to the restaurant, which makes it much easier than having to look for street parking, which an OB is very difficult at times. I definitely recommend this restaurant/bar to anyone that wants good food and a good time

John N.

Yelp
While enjoying OB for our dogs birthday traveling in from Phoenix, we stopped here since it is dog friendly and they had a dog meal which is what sold me. Our dog was extremely tired and we sat in the far back corner to avoid all other dogs from coming up to ours because we want him to just chill. Dunkin had the beef bowl with rice which he loved and is very similar to what he eats at home which was a nice experience. The food here was phenomenal as I had the Phoenix Sando and ahi poke nachos. The only bad thing that happened was a greyhound dog that was off leash and the owners are supposedly "regulars" my dog minding his business since he's not an alpha dog and very beta 1 year old Vizsla this dog came up to him and smelt him and then got all in his face and got real aggressive with my dog and my dog just cried and was shaking in our arms because he was so scared. This part of the experience was terrible, BUT.. the entire staff made sure that we were ok and they immediately kicked out the greyhound and the owners at our request and comped part of our bill. They handled the entire situation very well and the only change I'd make to this restaurant is to require that all dogs regardless of their history be on a leash. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town because of the wait staff here. Thank you again if you guys/gals read this.

John R.

Yelp
Extensively mediocre. Our dog loved the fish dog bowl though so there's that :). Would not recommend for the human food

Jenna B.

Yelp
The fish tacos are my favorite thing on their menu, always a nice time there as I've never seen it too busy. Some good drink specials as well.

Katherine G.

Yelp
Super pet friendly! They took a picture of my pup and put it on their wall so cute, their sandwich was good at first I couldn't figure out how to eat it with the egg. Yummy!!

Derek O.

Yelp
So, needed a dog friendly restaurant near dog Beach. This place is a couple blocks away and very dog friendly (dog meals) and the human food was outstanding. This is now going to be our place to go after dog beach over the weekends

Mallory G.

Yelp
I don't know who the new owners are but they sure messed up a good thing. My friends and I used to go to Voltaire's all the time...they had the best and friendliest staff and more importantly good bartenders who were also true mixologists. But ever since some faceless owners bought and "fixed up" the place, it hasn't been the same. We ordered the fish and chips and they used to be great and now the fish was soggy...didn't have that crispy crunch that it used to and that was my go-to dish to share with my friends. My husband ordered the poky bowl and it wasn't the same as it was the last few years. It was his go-to meal so he can def taste the difference. I ordered a vodka soda which was all soda...and no vodka. Whereas as the guy they had last year (Sam, I believe but not sure) was a true mixologist and respected the fact that people like vodka in their vodka soda. Also, many of the regular staff(not all) have gone after having worked there for at least a couple of years...so that to me says that new owners are not so great to work for? By the way, I don't blame the lower quality of food on the workers in the back but the owners who aren't buying quality ingredients...who knows but what is going on over there? Oh...one more thing...they got rid of their epic happy hour which was 11 to 5 or something like that...sigh...miss old Voltaire's!

Yelp
Service is trash! We sat there for over 25 min and nobody had even come up to us to say hi. We went to the bar to ask the bartender who our waiter was and if she could send him over and she was extra rude and basically said no. So we left after 30 min of sitting there waiting. The service is terrible and super rude. Not the first time we have gotten bad service there but it is the first time they have been that rude about it.
