So happy we found Volturno driving through Massachusetts. The food is unbelievable! Pizza was phenomenal! The pasta was so fresh. This place is a must and probably will be our food stop from now on. Worth the trip off the highway. Service was great, quick, and extremely professional. 10 stars!

Came here for the first time tonight and had a great experience. We were seated right away and Madeline our waitress was attentive and got our food out quickly. We started off with the meatballs and rice balls and had the shrimp and bolognese pasta dishes for our main course and topped it off with the dessert pizza. Everything was fresh and delicious. I’m looking forward to coming back!

I dined in here, and the pizza was great! The crust had a nice amount of char but was still soft, and the sauce and cheese were delicious! They offer specialty pies like margherita, but you can also just get a plain cheese one if that’s more your thing, too. Service was also great! Our waitstaff was very friendly.

Google
Rating (out of 25): Food: 4.5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 3/5 (felt a little crowded once it filled up) Drinks: 4/5 (My NA drink had 34 ice but was delicious) Overall Enjoyment: 5/5 I'm from NYC, and I gotta say, Volturno is easily one of the best meals I've had in Worcester. Honestly, I wasn't expecting it to hit this hard. The vibe is super chill despite the place being pretty massive, and once it filled up, the energy kicked up without ever tipping into chaos. Everyone who helped my boy and me was genuinely welcoming, you could tell they knew we weren't locals, but they made us feel right at home. We started off with their burrata, and wow--silky, creamy, and paired with just the right accompaniments to make every bite sing. That alone could've been the highlight of the night... but then the pizzas showed up. We grabbed a couple of well-crafted beers and ordered the fichi and margherita pies. Both were perfection: fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and a flawless balance between crust, sauce, and toppings. None of that greasy heaviness that makes you regret life choices after. Instead, I left full but still feeling great, which says a lot for a carb-heavy night. The space strikes a sweet balance of laid-back enough to relax, but polished enough that it feels like a proper night out. Volturno clearly takes their craft seriously. Their pizzas are *googles* *clears throat* "APN-certified and baked in a handmade, 100% wood-fired clay oven built in Italy by Gianni Acunto, blasting at around 900°F so they cook in just 60-90 seconds, giving you that perfect airy crust with a whisper of char." Special shout-out to the bartender--she's a master of her craft. The cocktails aren't just there to fill a menu; they're thoughtful, creative, and executed perfectly, elevating the whole dining experience. One thing to keep in mind: they don't take reservations, so if you're rolling in during peak hours, expect a short wait. But with the great music, friendly service, and food that'll have you thinking about it the next day, it's absolutely worth it. Happy Eating.

We recently held a retirement party in the function room at Volturnos. If there was an option for more stars, they’d get them! Everything was amazing. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and went above and beyond. The food was superior and every single guest commented on how delicious and well prepared the food was. The room is a beautiful room to have an event in. It’s cozy, clean, private entrance…bar in the room. Everything from start to finish was perfect. Highly recommend!

Great pizza! Party of four, pistachio pizza and fig pizza. Both pizzas were delicious 😋. Service was adequate. Will return to explore the menu beyond pizza.

Yelp
If I could give this place more than five stars, I would! This is hands down the best Napoletana pizza I've ever had--perfectly blistered crust, rich San Marzano tomato sauce, and the freshest toppings that melt in your mouth. Every bite transported me straight to Naples. The service? Absolutely impeccable. The staff is warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable, making sure every detail of our meal was perfect. Johnny, Kelsey and Kacie are out of this world! And let's talk about the drinks--true works of art, both in presentation and taste. Each cocktail was a masterpiece, perfectly balanced and crafted with skill. From start to finish, this place delivers an unforgettable experience. If you're a pizza lover, do yourself a favor and make this your next stop. You won't regret it!

Yelp
I was in the area and craving some good pizza. I called Volutrno's, the phone was quickly answered, my order for a Margherita Pizza (mozzarella, San Marzano sugo, basil with polpette (meatball) and Mushroom $24) was cheerfully accepted and I was told that it would be ready in about 10 minutes. I arrived 15 minutes later and my pizza was waiting. I quickly warmed it up, and it was excellent. I think Volturno's makes the best thin crust pizza in the area.

Yelp
Great waitress, great food, great ambiance. The pizza was amazing, the pollo e pesto was to die for. So light, airy, and flavorful. I want to come back to try their other dishes. We also had the bartender surprise us with drinks, and he made really fruity, delicious concoctions.

Yelp
Great pizza , great spot, great service. Must stop if you are in the area. Try the tre porcellini.

Yelp
We made a second visit to Volturno recently to have a try at some of their other options. We arrived early on a Saturday evening (about 4:30) and there was a line to wait for a table so we opted to sit at the bar. We decided to have drinks and appetizers. We ordered a pepperoni pizza (they are small), bruschetta and brussel sprouts. My husband had a beer and my drink was called Love Potion. We also got dessert, he ordered the Tiramisu (it was delicious) and I ordered the cheesecake (I didn't care for the thick graham cracker bottom, but the cheesecake part was very good). Everything was very good and our bar servers were excellent.

Chuck M.

Yelp
The simple pizzas made here are wonderful and the crust goes great with the aioli. The tomato soup was warming and tasty. The bruschetta was refreshing to eat. The waitress was friendly and knew her craft. The place is family friendly and a must visit spot if you're in the area.

Yelp
We dined at Volturno's pizza on a Monday and enjoyed their BOGO pizza deal. We had 4 separate pizzas and all were good. I enjoyed vongole, my son had a three meat pie. Good crust perfectly cooked. The restaurant was very busy a ton of takeout business and ambience is brew pub, modern decor.

Yelp
Who the heck ever knew I loved figs? Or FART lettuce on pizza (don't ya think arugula tastes like farts in your mouth when eaten plain?! Anyone?! Anyway. I digress...) This place is perfect for those looking to explore their taste bud's secret desires for foods you didn't even know you needed in your life. From fantastically crafted, unique pizza flavors to your safe bets like pepperoni and sausage. But FRESH!

Yelp
Great spot for pizza! Our waitress was very friendly and made a great recommendation to add hot honey to our pepperoni pizza - what a game-changer! Caesar salad came lightly dressed - exactly how we like it. Even the Diet Coke was perfectly crisp and syrupy. The crust is on the thicker/fluffier side- I tend to like a crispier pizza, so deducting 1 star for this. Special thanks to our waitress for the hot honey suggestion. Would definitely order this combination again

Yelp
We came in on Sunday afternoon. There were four adults and a 7 year old. One in our party deals with immune compromised issues and so we asked to sit outside. The hostess told me they couldn't accommodate 5 people as all the tables were four tops. (Aside...all of the outdoor seating was vacant). I asked if we could pull a 5th chair up or sit side by side as a two and three top party. She said they usually won't do that but left to check with the manager who was sitting alone at a nearby table. After a short conversation... incredibly short...the hostess returned and told me she couldn't accommodate us ,and by the way, they were not sitting outside anyhow that time. . Huh? She did give us a large table a bit away from others, so it was a compromise that we made work, as we were sort of a captive audience at that point. OK. On to the food. We ordered a margarita pizza with mushrooms. The mushrooms were full flavored. Bravo. The pizza would have been much better if it wasn't loose and floppy near the middle. I suspect it was undercooked. We spilt a Caesar salad. Really nice to see actually anchovies served with it. Sadly, the salad itself was soggy as it had been dressed too soon, I suspect, and it needed lemon, but all in all a pretty good salad. Inventive drink list. I really liked my "Otto". Without the hostess issue, I'd recommend this place as a good place to rendezvous with friends, and would give the food 3.5 stars, possibly four if the minor quibbles like floppy pizza and soggy lettuce were addressed. But as one who perhaps has spent too many years in customer service, the lack of accommodation during seating is a deal breaker for me. I won't be back. Unfortunately.

Yelp
We've been taking advantage of the BOGO on Mondays and Tuesdays. It was just too hot to cook today, ordered a pistachio and burrata - omg both were amazing. We will be back!!

Yelp
Great house made pizza and craft brews. Big wine selection. Friendly staff. Sox on tv.

Yelp
Food - excellent. Drinks - excellent. Service - excellent. Atmosphere - excellent. We go here roughly twice a month, you can't find better pizza in the area, it's honestly so good. The cocktail menu changes seasonally and is always really fun and inventive. The pasta is also super delicious, they make it all in house and the sauces are all super fresh and tasty.
google avatar

Yelp
One of my favorite pizza experiences in Worcester, they had a good 2 pizzas for one deal on weekdays at one point not sure if they still have that. Regardless the pizzas are delicious the ingredients have a lot of effort put into them and the way they cook them in the oven is very good! They've been able to accommodate myself and large group of coworkers very well, the service always does well!

Yelp
Shrewsbury Street is the location for food. The place has parking, seating was quick in the outdoor area. Two for 1 Pizza's on Monday's and Tuesday's. Tried the Tre Porcellini house-made fennel pork sausage, bacon, soppressata, mozzarella, san marzano sugo Basically the meat pizza Very delicious, needed a little more sauce. Bianca fried egg, ricotta, mozzarella, garlic confit, caramelized onion, scallion, chili flake The chilli flake, can be a hit or miss. Very tasty with the egg drop. But not as delicious as I was expecting again a little dry on the sauce. Tried both the white and red Sangria. Nothing special the red was a little dry, really didn't taste like much. Disappointing for the rating on Google.

Yelp
I had the chance to try out Volturno's function space adjacent to the restaurant area for my organization's Christmas party in January. I would recommend it for intimate parties of 40 or less but I believe their max limit is higher than that amount. It's a clean, warm, pretty, and intimate establishment. I enjoyed their decor of the rack of wine and a poster on types of pastas. The food tasted great, I would say an overall rating of 8.5/10. The apps were great, I tried Focaccia for the first time and was surprised at how soft yet crunchy the bread is and paired with ricotta, a beautiful savory taste. My only poor experience with the food service was the tiramisu, it was quite bitter from the coffee and had soggy finger lady's . The servers were attentive and timely when setting up our food, serving drinks, and waiting the tables.

Shanika P.

Yelp
The pizza is always amazing!!! They have a good weekly BOGO deal and definitely worth it for takeout!!!

John M.

Yelp
Staff and food amazing. BOGO on Mondays, great cocktail menu. They don't take reservations , so better try to get there early! They always playing good music too!

Yelp
Good food. Nice service. Stephanie was great. She recommended the brick chicken and it was great. Chicken Marsala was good too but for $30.. it's a little much. Pizza was good too.
google avatar

Yelp
Great Neapolitan pizza. The crust is perfectly crispy, chewy, soft at the same time. Always has a table open. Nutella dessert pizza was tasty.

Yelp
I have been to volturnos twice now. Very good! The atmosphere is nice. The pizza is so good, pretty salty but doesn't take away from its greatness. The service was great. We didn't wait long for the pizza and they were very nice. Off topic but the bathrooms are nice and I love their hand drier lol. My Shirley temple was alright. We got the margarita pizza, pepperoni pizza, and cheese pizza. We are also going to bring one home for my mom. They were all very good definitely some of my favorite pizza! I would recommend trying!!
google avatar

Eric D.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best brick oven pizzas in central MA. If you're looking for a nice night out for a date or get together with good company--they have a great dine in space. They also have a function room if you're looking to hold a party. I haven't been here in awhile but on Monday and Tuesday they do BOGO for their pizzas. This is the perfect time to try all sorts of pies. Restaurant also has ample parking on the side and a nice patio.

Colleen B.

Yelp
Service was good. Kids pasta with parm cheese, and meatballs w/focaccia were yummy. Arugula salad with beets good (although would have liked beet pieces that were larger-not mini-sized), but the grilled chicken w/salad was thin, over-cooked and over-priced for the portion size. Disappointing.
google avatar

Jacob C.

Yelp
This is an excellent pizza spot, their brick oven pizza is something to look forward to for your next pizza night. They do great discounted pizza days early in the week that I have taken advantage of to try a few different pizzas and none have let me down. The seating is great and open and never really had an issue getting in, they also have a really good beer selection as well.

Damani M.

Yelp
Chill atmosphere. The food tastes great and nice workers would definitely go again. Great time

Tom H.

Yelp
Everything is great---including the space between tables so you don't have to listen to the usual blowhard that is present in a restaurant-----but just one thing-----you need to do a much better job with a simple cup of black coffee----which was just watery . Fix that !!!!
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
Back again for the BOGO pizza night. Tried something new (the pulled pork pizza) and it did not disappoint! Great option if you're looking for a date night restaurant that doesn't break the bank.
google avatar

Yelp
Would actually give our overall experience at Volturno a 4.25/4.5. The food was truly delicious and deserves a 5. We ordered the Beet & Mozzarella, Roasted Cauliflower, Funghi Pizza, and the Capri Pizza. Everything was so flavorful and fresh. The capri pizza had a garlic sauce that was perfectly balanced and the roasted cauliflower laid on a layer of fresh pesto. My reason for a reduced star was not because of the food, it is due to the service. Thomas the owner was incredibly sweet and polite. He even came to our table to apologize for the mix up in our food. Our server unfortunately. didn't come by very often and when she did, would forget to bring something or another.

Mike H.

Yelp
Excellent service! Caesar salad was very salty for some reason. We did get it without anchovies. The margh pizza with prosciutto was delicious!!! The pepperoni with meatballs was beyond words delicious!!!!! I highly recommend both!!!! I can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Yelp
Starting off this review by saying Jackie is the absolute best, she always takes care of us when we go there :) Volturnos has such great pizza, drinks, appetizers, pasta dishes, you name it, they got it! Definitely a huge staple of Shrewsbury St. Perfect place for a girls night out, a casual dinner, a first date, a celebration, all occasions. To know Worcester, is to know Volturnos. Love it!
google avatar

Max G.

Yelp
If you want the classy style Italian pizza there's a nice place in Worcester right here. Light, thin, and slightly charred. The options will seem a bit exotic if you're used to the typical college town pie but it's tasty and the flavors are unique. If pizza isn't you're thing there are a variety of Italian entres including in-house noodles and crafted cocktails. Staff are friendly.
google avatar

Jessica R.

Yelp
The homemade mozzarella is incredible. The bruschetta mozzarella had basil mixed in! Soo so good. Only stop for an app and a drink but it was a beautiful and the food smelled amazing! They have a brick oven where they cook their pizza. Would love to come back if I'm ever in the city again.
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
Pizza was hardly sensational. Dough, ok, positively too thin, no rise. The Tomato sauce was sparse, thin without substance, hardly covering the dough, the cheese was on ration, hardly fulfilling, and my added anchovies was an attempt at creativity but not traditional oliy delicious anchovies, the anchovies served were white and fishy not traditional flavor and not better. Usually Napoli pizza has a final swirl of olive oil on the pizza, not here. Dryish, Even the basil was a chopped basil, could not see basil leaves. I drove about 1 hr to be disappointed. The ovens are the real deal, the website states traditional dough but dough that does not rise and is too thin which is not traditional Neapolitan pizza. Decent setting, pleasant restaurant , good service. I left hungry

Yelp
I was not at all impressed by the food here at all!! It was my first time eating here and I know people always talk about how good the pizza is so maybe that's all they are good at. I had the torchio con salsiccia and it was very much "meh". The taste of it was off, I'm not exactly sure what it was but it had a funny taste. Someone else at my table ordered the tagliatelle with bolognese sauce and that didn't taste all that great either. No one was really satisfied with their food except for 1 person who ordered a pizza. I'm guessing since they are so well known for good pizza they really don't put much effort into the rest of their dishes. The services was ok and the ambience of the place was cute. I've been meaning to try this restaurant so I'm glad I finally did but I definitely won't be returning.

Yelp
I 10/10 recommend Volturno. It's my boyfriend and mines favorite restaurant - we're here about every other week. The Volturno brick oven pizza is always our favorite, but the whole menu is delicious. The cocktails never disappoint and the bartenders are always creating new recipes for us with the "we think you drink" option. The staff is always so friendly, and the restaurant is beautiful, busy, and close to downtown Worcester. And shoutout Dimas, he's a great chef!

V N.

Yelp
Food: They make such good authentic pizza over stone oven at the restaurant. It is on the thin side and rather light on the topping/sauce. The crust has a bit a char taste captured by the coal they cook in. They don't have a lot of other selections of appetizers, but they have your general list besides pizza. They have a good selection on draft and very good tasting drinks. Service: sever was easygoing but seem like she was in a hurry to go home lol. Bartenders were also attentive and easy too Ambiance: very warm vibe to area, its open space so it doesn't feel so crowded Location accommodation: it's one the strip of Shrewsbury st where there are tons of other things to see and try as well. They have a parking lot, but there's also side parking if needed.

Yelp
BOGO pizza on Mondays and Tuesdays is a great deal! There is often a wait but service is fast once you're seated. Great drinks and vibe also!!

Yelp
Stopped by here tonight with my brother and parents to grab some dinner and fight off the Sunday Scaries The restaurant is very nice , with a lot of exposed brick and very pleasant ambient lighting. Our server was extremely friendly and promptly got us water and helped us get situated. My dad, brother and I each got a beer - Volturno has a pretty great selection with a lot of variety. For starters, we ordered the Bruschetta and Polpette (Meatballs). The Bruschetta was extremely Good - perfect balance of acidity and fat and the bread was fantastic. The Meatballs were also solid. We were accidentally brought a plate of Arancini , and the staff member who brought the food over was kind enough to leave it with us free of charge as it had already been set on our table. It was fairly good - texturally it was fantastic but it could've used a little more cheese or something savory to provide some oomph. For the main entree we got a few pies to try - The Funghi, Bianca, and Tre Porcellini. The Tre Procellini was the best - perfectly fatty and meaty and tasted great. The Funghi had a great truffle crema on the top and all the subtle flavors played very well together. And the Bianca was solid - seemed more like a breakfast pizza to me but I'll never say no to breakfast for dinner. After being in the Bay Area for a few months (which notoriously has a pretty weak Pizza scene aside from a few highlights) Volturno was a great change of pace. The food was good quality and the service was fantastic - every employee we interacted with was extremely friendly and personable. Would highly recommend anyone visiting the Worcester area to give this place a shot 4/5

Yelp
Love the eclectic menu and interesting cocktails. Two for one pizza on Mondays and Tuesdays is awesome

Yelp
Still on this chicken parm kick and wanting to take a drive somewhere new I ended up here and glad I did walked in sat at the bar and was greeted right away with a menu and a bevy order place was clean and open air atmosphere overall cool vibe I got the meal was good and a lot I was thinking $27 for chicken parm is a bit steep but overall I can't complain I asked for my sauce a bit spicier than normal and they accommodated me. One of the only Italian places I could find on Monday. Good find I will return

Kim L.

Yelp
I've always enjoyed Volturno and chose it for a special reunion with and old high school friend. We arrived at 5:15pm, had dinner and drinks, and were enjoying a rare chance to catch up. At 7:09pm, were unexpectedly asked to leave to make space for a large party. There were no visible guests waiting, and we would have happily moved to the bar if asked. The way it was handled felt abrupt and disrespectful - it completely disrupted what had been a lovely evening. I was embarrassed for suggesting the restaurant and disappointed by how we were treated. Unfortunately, I won't be returning and will choose establishments that value their customers more.

Yelp
FOOD: Delicious. Omg. It's Italian pizza (not 'Italian style') with a doughy, slightly charred crust and delectable toppings. I got the Bianca and my sister got the Margherita. Both of them were fresh, big decent portions and flavorful. We got the raspberry and blood orange sorbet to for dessert and you really can't go wrong with either, they're SO refreshing. The raspberry is creamier than the blood orange and has raspberry seeds in it. The blood orange is more of an Italian ice consistency but SO good. The ginger ale is actually ginger ale (not sprite mixed with coke) and the water tastes like tap water, but like tap water that has been filtered. Get some lemon in it and you're good to go. The napkins are also HUGE and super thick (they're not cloth). SERVICE: Spectacular. I'm horrible with names but I THINK our waiters name was Jimmy? Joey? I know it started with a J. He had curly blonde hair and wore a bandana. He was SO amazing, pleasant and kind. He was attentive, brought us everything fast, kept the table clear, made recs when asked and gave detail on any food we asked about. We loved him. Even the hostess was wonderful. She texted us when our table was ready and took us to a clean table minutes after walking back in. VIBES: This spot is cute for dates, a night out with friends, family or just to grab a pizza and go home. It has low lighting, is loud (like anywhere with a bar) and is clean inside and outside. Our table wasn't sticky and there was no trash on the floor anywhere.

Yelp
My wife and I went here on a fairly busy Wednesday night for a late dinner. Upon arrival we were greeted and sat at a table of our request by the bar in front of a TV that had the Celtics game on. It was our first time visiting this restaurant, I was impressed with the atmosphere and friendly hospitality which was conducted by literally every staff member! They really know how to work together! It seems like all of the staff are on the same page and no one is above anyone. Thanks for a great experience! We will be back!

Liam M.

Yelp
Came here for some lunch with some friends and it was absolutely delicious. Very friendly staff and the pizza was absolutely amazing. The restaurant's atmosphere was also very clean and pleasing. Furthermore, the meal was very affordable on our broke-college-student budget, so if I could rate this 6 stars, I would.
google avatar

Yelp
Have to say, I think they have awesome pizza - my favorite is the plain cheese, so good even the kids loved it! Crust is thin and crispy with a touch of blackened. It was so yummy! I wish they would deliver!!

Yelp
Best pizza in Worcester, I've been coming here for years. The ingredients are always fresh and it's pretty affordable

Yelp
We had a great meal; packed on a Monday afternoon, which is pretty incredible. Drinks were unique and stiff; highly quality pizza and pasta.
