The 35 Best Restaurants in Porto, Portugal | Eater

"In Bonfim, one of Porto’s most dynamic dining districts, Von & Vonnie has emerged as a standout coffee destination. The Welsh-German duo behind it — Yvonne Spresny and Morgan von Mantripp — met in Asia through a shared passion for coffee. They eventually settled in Porto, opening a sleek cafe just a block from the Campanhã train station. They roast their own beans and serve them across a menu that ranges from bold black coffee to silky cappuccinos. Know before you go: Alongside the coffee, you’ll find inventive pastries like lime and sesame tarts, orange and hazelnut tiramisu, and Black Forest brownies." - Rafael Tonon

Hands down, the best coffee in Porto. After trying dozens of coffee shops in Porto, we finally found our favourite coffee shop. Love their clean lines and minimalist decor. It's nice to see one of the barista roasting small lots of coffee beans at the back of the cafe. Excellent experience 👍

This was my local for a month. I like the laid back, I touristy feel and the huge window with a view of the beautiful church. Loved my GLAD hot chocolate and my favourite barista in Porto. He’s so friendly! The only thing is there is no aircon and it was super hot on very hot days. Love everything else!

I popped in one morning at von & vonnie on Rua do Heroísmo and was instantly charmed by the calm, plant-filled space. Soft wood tones, minimal décor, and nooks for working or relaxing all felt thoughtfully arranged. I tried a flat white made with their house-roasted beans; it had rich, smooth milk and a hint of citrus bitterness—exactly what I look for in a top-tier espresso drink. They also offer pour‑overs and cold brew, each crafted with care and clarity in flavor. Displayed pastries caught my eye next: a cinnamon bun and a slice of banana‑chocolate loaf that were both fresh, not overly sweet, and perfect with coffee. Their in‑house baking adds a welcoming, homemade touch to the experience. Service felt warm and unhurried—staff shared origins of their beans, brewing recommendations, and even let me peek into the small roasting area. It felt like stepping into a friend’s kitchen where coffee is a true centerpiece. von & vonnie microroasters is ideal if you appreciate precision coffee in a calm, modern setting. It’s friendly to remote workers, dog‑owners, and morning browsers alike. I’ll absolutely be back for more beans and that cinnamon bun.

We discovered this amazing café way too late, but ever since we did, we’ve been coming almost daily. The coffee is incredible—the pour-over and the oat milk cappuccino are the best I’ve ever had! They have a great selection of delicious pastries, always with a vegan option (the banana bread is a must-try! 😍). The atmosphere is wonderful, and the staff is super friendly. Highly recommend!

My favourite place to have coffee in Porto! Best marcha in town & beans for brewing at home. Deserta are also delicious ❤️‍🔥

Google
Best roasters at the moment in PT in my opinion. Morgan and Yvonne focus on traceability of beans - you can check any margin that was added to the beans on their website. They make lighter roast, which keeps the best in the beans while not adding bitterness and burn I also flied away from their Bananoffee - must try

A must-visit if you are a coffee fan! Located incredibly close to Porto Campanhā train station, this excellent cafe delivers a genuinely top-notch coffee experience whether you've just arrived, are about to leave, or are based locally! Minimalist yet delightful décor (I particularly appreciated the speaker setup!) and a genuine attention to serving a quality product. We had the flat white and long black, and wish we had more time to try the pour overs. All for a very reasonable price as well, given this is a speciality shop!
