Where to Eat Near the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB) | Eater LA

"Vons (no, not the grocery store) is an Isla Vista destination for Korean-style fried chicken, served in boxes, as combo meals, or even in sandwiches with slaw on top. Celebrity chef Chris Oh oversees the menu here, meaning the food is certainly legit." - Farley Elliott

Where to Eat the Spiciest Dishes in Houston | Eater Houston

"Korean fried chicken doesn’t have to be spicy. It’s just best when it is. The hottest we’ve found is at this Spring Branch outlet, where there are both fried and oven-baked wings. The Shocking Hot option is the way to go for a sizzling sensation. Luckily, there’s bubble tea and a full range of bingsu (Korean shaved ice) to transition back to the world of the living." - Alice Levitt

I just experience the most uncomfortable experience at Vons chicken. We visited many Vons location throughout the Bay Area, but this by far the worst experience. Visited this place on Friday, December 13 at 8:20 pm. I understand that this location closes at 9:00 pm. We ordered and food came out fairly quickly. Asked for more sauce cause the sauce did not cover the chicken well. You must pay, said the very annoyed and rude cashier..uhh…ok. 2 minutes before 9:00 pm, the rude, annoyed cashier comes and said we close at 9:00 pm, pack your shit and leave (she didn’t say that but that’s what she was implying) and started cleaning up loudly around us, 409 sprayed, chairs staking, curtains pulled, I get the point. Well, I can’t say that 7 of us can quickly eat 2 full portion, plus sides and three rice bowls in 20 mins. If they close in-restaurant dining, then that should’ve been advise rather than kick us out mid-way through the meal. We would have ordered togo. That was both the uncomfortable and awkward experience ever. Also, they had a few togo orders they were not yet picked up so why kick us out when they are still waiting for the pickups? Will we come back here again, absolutely not. They just loss 7 customers and lots of $$$ that are all foodies. Goodbye Vons Hostetter.

Google
Korean chicken spot with a quiet atmosphere, smooth online service and pick-up, but slightly tough chicken. I ordered the half "Honey Butter Chicken" boneless. The chicken came out tough and crispy. I enjoyed the seasoning which was sweet and salty. Next time, I will try one of their saucier toppings.

Google
Went here for Christmas eve 2023 because they were the only thing open. The chicken was decent, and the sauce was decent as well. They gave me a big container of green onion for whatever reason, which was cool I guess. Overall fine, worth a try if you like glazed chicken.

A new Von’s location has opened up in San Jose and I couldn’t be more excited! Parking was easy to find and everything inside the store was super clean. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful as well. The chicken wings were cooked fresh and quite large! Both orders were super addicting, full of flavor, and not dry, but I personally preferred the crispy fried chicken over the garlic chicken just because I like the crunch of the skin hehe. They also provided extra sides like cheddar powder, honey butter, yangnyeom sauce, and pickled radish which complimented the wings wonderfully. This was enough to fill 2 people and there were leftovers! It smelled amazing in the car when I was on my way home and that made me look forward to eating it again. All in all, I would definitely come back to try their other flavors!

Google
I was filled with excitement as I planned to visit this restaurant during my trip to Paris Baguette, all thanks to the enticing oven baked chicken I had seen. Opting for the Oven Chicken Cheese Buldak, I had high expectations of a spicy and chicken-rich dish. However, the chicken turned out to be just okay. It was simply oven-baked chicken in a rather slightly sweet sauce, topped with cheese. I had anticipated it to be served on a bed of rice, but to my surprise, it came with rice cake sticks instead. The overall experience of the dish was average, especially considering the price of around $20 for just half. It felt quite expensive considering the quantity and taste. However, I believe their rice bowl might be worth a try. On a positive note, I must mention that Dustyn provided excellent service. He constantly checked on us and assisted us with whatever we needed.

Google
If you pick it up as soon as it's finished it's really crunchy but if your off a couple minutes the crunch really does get soggy fast. Overall though it's pretty good. Nice flavors and reasonable price wise especially of you come for the lunch menu.

Google
Vons is always a solid spot for some Korean fried chicken. Their lunch specials are nice and the portions are huge. One half size can fit at least two meals for me. My faves are the crispy fried w/ honey butter, yangnyeom, and soy garlic.

Google
We ordered the honey butter chicken half size. The honey butter was actually powder, and it didn't taste like honey, more like sugar. Also they gave so much powder, it crusted into a thick layer (1cm) on top of the chicken. It was an extremely salty and artificial flavor. The crispiness and tenderness of the chicken was good but we didn't like the topping, including my kid. Will probably not return but if I have to, I'll probably choose another flavor that is more natural. Having said that, they do not have pictures of their flavors on their menu, so it wasn't very helpful for ordering. I probably would not have ordered this flavor if I knew it was just powder.

Yelp
Did we come on a good day?! How come the ratings for this place is so low?! I give it 5 stars!!! Allen and I came here after playing some tennis and before swinging by a friend's house. We got the original flavor of chicken and my god. This was probably the best batch of fried chicken I've had even compared to Korea. I would suggest a non saucy one since the saucy ones are overwhelming and you can't eat as much. I'm pretty sure I ate 6-7 pieces this night....

Yelp
Very clean and well managed inside and there were a lot of empty tables when we went (ig bc we ate dinner earlier than usual that day). I haven't had Vons in forever and I remember not liking it very much the first time I had it. Got the crispy fried with garlic soy glaze (5 drum) this time and it was definitely better than I remembered and very yummy! The garlic soy glaze was delicious and the drumsticks were very crispy!

Yelp
Hmmm...I could have sworn I wrote a review for this Vons Chicken. Crispy Real Garlic Fried Chicken - A good crispy fry and garlicky taste. Garlic Chicken: roasted oven chicken w/ garlic sauce. Moist, tender chicken with a slight kick to it. Pickled radishes to cut the oiled richness of the fried chicken.

Yelp
This place is my favorite place for Korean fried chicken. The chicken has a good crunch and the pickled daikon is the perfect side to cut through the greasy flavor. My bf and I shared the half order and it was 9 pieces altogether? A good amount, I was content. My bf wanted to order another half order bc it really hit the spot. I love that I don't have to go all the way to Sunnyvale for Vons fried chicken. There's tables inside, good for small parties.

Yelp
Great service, delicious yangyum chicken. Good price, big portion too!! They give you radish and gloves to eat with, I enjoy Vons because it's legit korean fried chicken quality.

Yelp
I absolutely love Vons Chicken! Their chicken is so crispy and juicy, it's my favorite. I typically get soy garlic and fries, and it's delicious! Usually when I go in, there aren't a lot of other customers. I've noticed a lot come in for take out/to go orders. The employees are so kind and nice every time I've gone, which makes things that much better. I'm so glad there's a Vons Chicken so close to me!

Yelp
I'm a fan of Vons Chicken and I would love to give this place a higher rating, but unfortunately this specific location just doesn't quite hit the mark for me. I took my bf to Vons Chicken in Milpitas last time we went, and he fell in LOVE with their cheddar fries. We decided to get Vons for dinner Sunday night. We were planning to go to the same location but saw that they permanently closed down and the next closest one was this location. We ordered a half combo crispy honey butter. The cashier asked us whether we were eating here or to-go, and we said for here. I'm not sure why that mattered because they still ended up packing the food in a closed box which just ruined the crispy texture. The fries weren't as crispy and the taste was just off. Same with the chicken. I asked my bf if it was just me, but he agreed the other location was better. Big sad :( Don't get me wrong, Vons Chicken is still good, but it's hard to give this specific place a higher rating after my experiences at other locations. I would maybe give this place 4 stars if I didn't know any better.

Yelp
The chicken is so overpriced eveyrhhhjbg here is overpriced in general. What do you mean a normal jarrito is 5$?. I got 10 drums for 42$

Yelp
Vons has been my first introduction to Korean fried chicken! Omg is the best thing ever! Chicken is so crispy and moist inside. We always order the mild crispy soy chicken and ask for Vons special sauce which is thick. sweet and spicy. You also get pickled radish with your order. Oh the cuts is wings and drumstick and boneless pcs. So don't expect other pcs. But I do have to say they are good size pcs. Other wing places I have to question why wings are so small. As if they were Cornish hen pcs. Since this is made to order, it's fresh out of the fryer and a bit of a wait. If taking out call in your order so you don't have to wait. This location has few tables to eat in. You order and prepay first and they bring it to you. I love Vons chicken! I've tried other Korean chicken places but always go back to Vons. The original one is in Santa Clara so I was happy when this place opened up in San Jose. Would be even better if they opened one in the evergreen area of San Jose. Hint hint

Yelp
Vons KFC is perfectly fried and full of flavor that it can be eaten as is. Each order comes with a side of pickled radish and it acts as a palette cleanser. It is a little bit pricey pero no regrets. 5/5 Crispy fried chicken- so crispy and juicy! Definitely a crunch to each bite. 4/5 Yangnyeom chicken- crispy even when tossed with sauce! loved the kick of spiciness but the sauce was a tad too sweet for my liking
google avatar

Thaila N.

Yelp
This was my first time trying the Yangnyeom flavor, which was sweet and spicy. I don't have a high spice tolerance, and the medium level was just the right amount of spice for me. I am notably a person who LOVES sauce, but our Crispy Yangnyeom Chicken wings were a little TOO saucy. Don't get me wrong, the sauce was delicious, but there was just too much of it. The Crispy Fried Chicken boneless wings had the opposite experience. The garlic soy glaze was hardly noticeable in flavor. The wings were super dry and very hard to chew, it almost felt like they were a day old. My dad said the fried calamari was dry too. The best part of the meal was the sweet potato fries, which had a good balance of crispy and soft fries. Was not very impressed by this Vons location, and will probably not be back.

Yelp
I recently tried Vons Chicken for the first time in Mountain View and loved it, so I was excited to try the San Jose location. I ordered for pickup through Grubhub, but unfortunately, I never got my food. I arrived a few minutes early at 7 and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes, which was fine. I waited in my car and went in at 7:25, only to find out it still wasn't ready, even though the app said it was. When I asked how much longer, they said it would take another 30 minutes. It seems like they might have given my food to someone else, and I ended up waiting almost an hour for nothing. I was so frustrated that I ended up canceling my order.

Yelp
Came to the restaurant on a Friday night. It wasn't busy inside, but they had some to go orders. We ordered the Full and Half Crispy Chicken with Soy Garlic Sauce on the Side. Our Vons chicken order was delicious! Especially with the Homemade Creamy Onion sauce. The chicken was perfectly crispy and tasted great! The one thing that bothered me about my order was that they didn't include the pickled radish. This was the second time this happened with my order. I had to make sure to ask them for the radish before I left with the order otherwise they wouldn't have given it to me again.

Yelp
The service is super bad, it said it will be closed 9pm, but they put the chair up. The server acted like I owed her a million

Yelp
We came here on a Saturday lunch, and the restaurant was empty except for the occasional people getting pickup. Between the 7 of us, we shared 3 half combos - original fried chicken, garlic fried chicken, and spicy cheese buldak. The garlic was pretty good and I really liked the garlic topping. Meanwhile, the cheese buldak had a lot of cheese melted over lean chicken and rice cakes. I liked how this Vons included rice cakes in their buldak and not chicken skin, I only wished it was slightly spicier.

Yelp
So I'm not the type of person to leave a review unless I'm very unsatisfied. My girlfriend and I came into Vons hoping to order for take out. I think they only have one cashier and one working in the back?? She was on break and we tried to be patience and wait for her but I don't think she cares at all because she doesn't say anything to us like "I'm almost done with my break" she just take her sweeeeeet time enjoying her 10 minutes break or maybe even 30 ? This is just ridiculous... it's no wonder it's always empty here.
google avatar

Brian C.

Yelp
Came here to try and the people have no clue. Spent literally 10 minutes trying to place an order. Cashier either didn't understand English or didn't understand the register because she could not enter the order properly. Waste of time!

Jason D.

Yelp
FOOD The food is really good. Good quality chicken and flavor. We got the crispy fried, delectable. We got the garlic oven, it aight. SERVICE There is an asian worker who I think works at Paris baguette who you can tell would be a good father because of how nicely he treated me and my friend. Service is brilliant Ambiance The ambiance is okay, will probably not bother anyone I don't know why yelp wants people to talk about the ambiance.

Yelp
My bf & I's go-to place for Korean fried chicken! I am surprised at the amount of negative reviews, as it's one of the places in our rotation of favorite lunch spots. We have never encountered particularly rude cashiers. It seems they've recently made improvements to this spot! The interior is now nice and bright. They also now offer poly gloves and ice water for dining in, which was really nice as some of their flavors can be pretty saucy. (Previous visits we were served in the same to-go box.) Our go-to order is a half-order of Crispy Fried drums & half-order of Yangnyeom drums. (Highly recommend getting drumsticks, as they're huge and well-cooked!) The chicken is always crispy and very flavorful. We've tried other Korean fried chicken spots, but keep coming back here!

Yelp
We were craving Korean Fried Chicken and decided to try Vons because of the cheese balls. The fried chicken plain was crispy and delicious but overall they put too much batter & oily . The honey butter was a little salty and not what I expected. The cheese balls were just like I imagined and very tasty & gooey goodness. Glad we ordered the cheese balls. The Korean radish was yummy and a great side dish with the chicken.

Yelp
Decided to come to this outlet because the one in Milpitas is permanently closed (very sad). The food here is great - everything is made to order, served piping hot. Popcorn chicken is a litttttttle salty but the soy garlic chicken lives up to its reputation as always. Would give this place a 4 star if it weren't for the lack of amenities. The bathroom is for employees only (not good esp as I was pregnant and I needed the toilet desperately/if you have kids/older family members). Server told me to use the bathroom next-door (???) but it was Paris Baguette...I'd never do that anyway. They don't provide any moist towelletes/hand wipes...so how do I wash my hands after eating all this oily chicken lol. Bring your own if you want to dine-in here. I've been to other outlets and they did provide hand wipes of some sort at least. I'd say do a take away instead of dining in. It is air-conditioned.

Yelp
Very solid Korean Fried Chicken. My partner and I had a very enjoyable evening eating the chicken and it's beer, while watching Korean Dramas on Netflix. The meat was juicy and the skin was crispy even though it was soaked in the yummy sweet soy garlic glaze. Definitely would order again.

Amber D.

Yelp
I ordered fried chicken and oven roasted chicken online on 2/16. They called me and said there was no more boneless can I get wing. I said yes. Then I called them back and asked if I could get drumsticks instead of wings for fried chicken. They said they had wings for fried chicken and i said ok. Got home and found out that they gave me 2 oven roasted chicken with thighs. It was a waste of time and money and I got the same flavor. The chicken was not even good. Never gonna come back here again.

Yelp
[During Omicron] I'm certainly a fan of this franchise. Located in a pretty big plaza, you can find this restaurant. With the big plaza, there is plenty of parking. The restaurant isn't too big, but of the ones I visited, it's pretty average. I visited right around opening on a weekday, so there wasn't a wait. I got my go-to-order, Half Crispy Yangyum boneless, but with a side of Rice Cakes. It didn't take long to receive my order. I believe there was indoor seating available, but there's also a few tables outside, of which I opted for, for a little bit more safety. Like the other locations, you get a lot for a half order. The boneless was breaded breast meat. Both the sauce and the chicken were good, the breading having crunch to it and wasn't soggy. The rice cakes were also good, and surprisingly a 3rd type of preparation in comparing the other locations I've been to. The rice cakes were pretty traditional, boiled and covered in sauce. The staff was nice. I did have a bit of a run in with trying to buy a soda after my initial order. For some reason, I thought I could get by with just the food, but I really wanted a soda. They do have a minimum to use credit card, of which I didn't meet, nor had enough cash. It is store policy, but the struggle to find decently priced soda in this plaza was a thing. If you're in the area, this is a reliable franchise for Korean Fried Chicken. Check them out.

Yelp
Ironically, my experience got worst around the time the owner commented, which makes this all the more awkward. I've stopped checking in as well since we were going so often. We ordered ahead of time and barely interacted with the worker. When we got home, I noticed that our order did not come with any napkins or side dishes/radishes. This is a typical order, so I am not sure how they missed adding the radishes. Needless to say, I was disappointed. Was this because my meal didn't taste the complete? Yes, but even more so that the worker did not bother to say anything. For example, if she has said they were out, then that is a reasonable explanation. Yet, she failed to do so. Unfortunately, I am not sure if we will be returning after this experience.

Yelp
I ordered takeouts. The Garlic chicken wings all become soggy and not crispy at all ... Not recommend

Yelp
Who loves Korean fried chicken here? The chicken wings were cooked fresh and quite large! They have fried chicken and oven chicken in all flavors you can think of. We personally preferred the crispy fried chicken over the vons special sauce chicken just because we like the crunch of the skin haha. They also provided extra sides like cheddar powder, honey butter, yangnyeom sauce. Two orders were more than enough for 2 people and we even had leftovers! If you haven't tried them yet, you need to! What we got: Crispy Fried Chicken, Vons Special Sauce Chicken

Yelp
First time getting kfc (k for Korean) from this chain in the south bay. Don't know much but decided to give it a try to go. The chicken didn't really like a 45 minute drive back to SF as the sauce kinda made it a gloopy mess and the chicken seem to lose from crunchiness. But the sauce on the yangnyeong chicken is awesome on a medium level. I normally love and can endure spicy but had a little difficulty enjoying the wing on medium spice. The kimchi fried rice is nothing spectular. A bit spicy and nothing compared to a delicious kimchi fried rice made at a legit Korean restaurant. The place is good for lunch as they have a lunch special for 12 bucks. I would rather come here than kfc (k for Kentucky) as a four piece chicken meal there is about fourteen bucks. It doesn't make any business sense to charge people the base price for an unsauced, original fried chicken and every other option sauced is a dollar more. And with other options such as choosing kimchi fried rice is another buck fifty. The ac unit is extremely loud as it beat out the loop blasting in the background. Who turns on the ac when it's 64 degrees out? There is one one front staff manning the register. It took 8-10 minutes to prepare my two lunch speaks. Menu was confusing. I didn't realize they had an oven baked chicken option with other flavors. I would have preferred to get that. But that just means I gotta come back here to try it next time I stop by San Jose.

Yelp
Easy to order over the phone- they do require you to pay with your credit card over the phone. Pro tip: order ahead to avoid waiting. The chicken is so delicious and stays crispy even after almost an hour of it sitting on our table. Customer service was good and there is parking right in front of the restaurant. Restaurant is small and has limited seating so would not recommend for large groups.
google avatar

Yelp
Can't go wrong with crispy and crunchy chicken! Food Crispy Fried Chicken with Cheddar Original Crispy Soy Glaze Chicken My go-to orders are typically the Crispy Fried Chicken with Cheddar and Original Crispy Soy Glaze Chicken. The cheddar is a dried seasoning sprinkled generously over each piece of chicken. The cheddar sauce tastes amazing on its own. The soy glaze has a nice sweet and savory taste which goes nicely with the fried chicken. Customer Service I typically order online for in-store pick up and have very limited interactions with the staff. They staff provides quick service and my order is always ready whenever I arrive. Parking Shared parking lot with other businesses. During peak times, it can be tough finding a spot.

Yelp
This location is new to me Looks clean as I can see. KFC is their thing, Happiness will bring. That "K" is not Kentucky but Korean You'll love if especially if you're Bohemian! Honey Butter is dope So fatty but you'll cope! Crispy and sweet Isn't that a treat? Joined together with rice, That combo is really nice! Onion Rings were really good too But kind of oily that made me blue It was expected from something fried Don't worry, no one cried. So many different kinds of chicken on their menu and I am a fan of their venue. I should really try the others but I'm conflicted...boo Honey butter is what I'm addicted to.

Yelp
I have been to this place twice. I have tried the Crispy Padak, Crispy yangnyeom, and Crispy garlic mixed wings and legs. They are juicy, crispy, and so fresh! I think it's best if eaten right away, but I have done take out and it wasn't bad but I think on the spot is best. My favorite flavor so far was the crispy garlic! But I do think there could be more garlic-y flavor to it. The crispy yangnyeom is soo good too, but I think I have an allergy to the type of spicy they used, because my lips were red and plump from eating it. Also, I couldn't handle this spice for some reason, which was weird because I normally eat spicy ‍ But if you go here, try the crispy garlic! I am sure the plan fried chicken would be great, they are so juicy and well cooked!!

Yelp
We ordered half honey butter and half yangnyum combo fried chicken and picked the order up right before closing. When we got home, we realized that we were missing a couple of wings. We called the next day and the manager was super nice and credit us our chicken order for our next visit!!! We were able to pick up our credited order with no problem so A+ for customer service. Onion Rings: These were huge, a great portion, & super crunchy. Highly recommend! Yangnyum Fried Chicken: The flavor is really good but they put a lot of sauce so the chicken got a bit soggy. I air fried the chicken so it's crispy again but the sauce flavor is greatly reduced. Honey Butter Fried Chicken: This is our favorite flavor at Von's. It's so freaking good I would drip my onion rings in any of the sauce that's in the box. We also got the honey butter powder on the side which is amazing and great to dip the pickled radish in. Cheddar Powder: Nothing special, go for the honey butter.

Yelp
I was excited to hear that Vons recently opened up and right by my place. I saw online that they had a lunch special so I was able to order ahead online to pick up a lunch special. I chose the lunch special with the boneless chicken with mild spiciness, fries for my side, and pickled radishes. This was the perfect portion for me, I even had leftovers. This was probably the best flavored chicken I have ever had. It had a hint of sweetness with also some spiciness and was super juicy. The fries were also crispy and also seasoned nicely. Of course, you can never go wrong with some pickled radishes. I do recommend asking for some dipping sauce as it became a little dry after a while but it did not lack any flavor or crunch. Ordering online was super easy. I ordered through yelp for pickup and the process was super simple. I highly recommend getting the lunch special, I think for the price, it is totally worth it, especially if you are ordering for one person. I have been wanting to try their chicken with sauce and the infamous honey butter fries. Based on my great initial experience, I will have to return to try their other items.

Yelp
Haven't had some good korean fried chicken in a while, but von's chicken changed that. First and foremost, I'm not fan of the phrase finger-licking good however I'll make an exception for this delicious chicken. I have never been here before and I was unsure of how the process worked on how to order. The cashier didn't really explain anything and just asked if we were ordering takeout, which we weren't. The encounter was a bit awkward after that because he didn't explain that we could sit and look at the menu there, whereas he told the customers who came in after us that. The food was really great! I ordered the 3 piece drums lunch special with the red burn flavor and I loved it! My spice tolerance is pretty high and I thought the flavor was mild with a nice kick. My sister ordered the soy sauce chicken which she enjoyed as well. The fries were good and the radish was crunchy and perfectly sour to complement the savory chicken. Imo I feel like this is an asian version of wingstop and I'll probably just order takeout next time. The chicken here is fried to golden perfection and way better than bonchon too. Excited to try the crispy fried chicken with honey butter the next time I come here!

Yelp
So glad that my favorite Korean Fried Chicken spot opened up super close by my house! Vons is my go-to KFC spot in the Bay, and I prefer it over similar spots like BonChon. I ordered: the original crispy soy glaze chicken and the mild yangnyeom chicken. I loved how flavorful both of them were, but my favorite was the crispy soy glaze! I've also had the honey butter crispy chicken at Vons before and it's really good (super strong flavor) for any honey butter lovers out there! I really like how the chicken at Vons is crispy and a good size (some other korean fried chicken spots use such large pieces of meat that I think it loses the flavor/overall makes it less appetizing). Thanks again for the hospitality, Ian + staff!

There is seriously nothing I dislike about Von's Chicken! It is one of my fave places to get KFC (Korean fried chicken) in the South Bay. I was so thrilled to hear that they opened up another location in SJ! I don't have to drive to Sunnyvale for Von's anymore. Yay! Von's chicken is located right next door to Paris Baguette and in the same Asian plaza as 99 Ranch supermarket. Lots of food/dessert places and plenty of parking. I tend to lean towards fried chicken than oven baked chicken lol.. I got the Crispy Yangnyeom Chicken & Honey Butter Chicken. The wait time wasn't that bad. Maybe 15-20 minutes for 12 pieces. Both chicken wings were soo flavorful! The chicken wasn't dry or overly salty and had a nice crispy exterior. CRUNCH. Nomnom. I appreciate the BIG SIZE of the chicken wings. They ain't playin' around... so worth it!! They also provide extra sides such as honey butter, more of the yangnyeom sauce, and pickled daikon (love!). If you need to reheat your chicken and have an air fryer, you should def throw some wings in. It's amazing!! I personally like Von's more than Bon Chon. I was very satisfied with my meal and the staff was very helpful and nice. I will definitely be back! Thank you!

Yelp
Craving some "real KFC" (because it is all about Korean Fried Chicken) the other day and just was not in the mood for Bonchon.. Vons was more of a detour, but that was what I wanted. Nothing crazy.. just the fairly basic crispy fried chicken. There are certainly lots of different flavors on the menu and I will most certainly recommend any of them. The chicken is cooked well and the seasoning is amazing. Speaking of seasoning, the honey butter fries were very good. It is interesting and sweet. Service was quick and friendly staff. Yummy food!

Yelp
If you want huge chicken wings this is the place to go. I loved the crispy fried chicken. I did not love the yang yum chicken wigs as much. My friends liked them much better than me. I got the chicken wings to go. They traveled well and were perfect for lunch. I am definitely going back for their original fried chicken wings.

Yelp
Taste - 8/10 Portion size - 8/10 Health - 7/10 Value - 7/10 The chicken here is pretty good. My favorite part about them is how tender the meat is. My friends and I ordered f1.crispy fried, f4.crispy yangnyeom, and v2.vons special sauce. If you're into mainly fried chicken, I'd go with f1. If you're more about the sauce, I'd go with f4.

Yelp
Given the special place that fried chicken has in my heart (and arteries), I was delighted another option opened up close to home. I've tried their fried chicken and fries a few times now: The quality is consistently excellent and the portions can barely be contained in their boxes. I typically call ahead to order, and the food is pipping hot & ready in 15 min. On this occasion, I ordered the soy glaze and real garlic fried chicken with honey butter fries. My only quibble is that the meal ends up being a tad too sweet (but others might enjoy that). In sum: solid meal, would definitely recommend, and would personally return for more!

Yelp
Ordered a half order of yangnyeom wings and had a better experience this time around. The wings were quickly ready and most of all, appropriately sauced! I got it in medium spice and the first wing was abrasive at first, but definitely mild enough to continue enjoying the wings (you quickly get used to it). I'd say it's a bit more than "hot cheeto" spicy. Overall, I loved it. It's everything you'd want in a spicy Korean fried chicken wing! I just hope that the quality will continue to be as good as this in the future. Time will tell! I'll be back.

Yelp
Can't go wrong with fried chicken and Von's chicken always hits the spot. This location is on the smaller side of the other locations but their customer service is way better in my opinion. Came in roughly around 6pm on a weekday and found it to be not busy considering it was dinner time. So a group of me and my friends were able to order while still looking at their menu with no rush. There really isn't much to their menu it's really all about the flavor and sides. We went with 2 half orders of their Soy Garlic and Crispy Cheddar along with some Honey Butter Fries and Tteok-Bokki (rice cake) 5-7 minutes go by and the server is already starting to hand us our sides. Superrrrr fast service Garlic Soy: what I like about this flavor is it's perfectly balanced, not too much garlic or soy; just bliss. Cheddar: this could be a hit or miss for some. If you've ever had sour cream and cheddar chips then you're basically rolling the chicken wing into that powder. So if you're more on the cheesy side go for this. If not grab something more normal Tteok-Bokki: CHURRO, that's all I gotta say, it tasted cinnamony but it had a nice soft crunch Honey Butter Fries: Nice in between snack when you're taking a break from chicken bites. More on the sweeter side of the salty norm. TAKEAWAYS: OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE, HONED DELICIOUS FLAVORS, FAST/QUICK/INSTANTANEOUS

Yelp
Fried chicken mania continues! While not my first Von's experience, this was the first time at this location and it didn't disappoint. The wait - like all of locations - is a bit long but tolerable if you plan for it (expect 40-ish minutes!). Ordered a good amount so that we could have some variety. Plus, when you have 3 boys, you just never know! For the whole clan, I ordered: Soy Sauce and Black Vinegar Chicken (Half): My personal favorite. I liked the sauce. Not too saucy, not too salty. Kicking myself I only got a half order! Lol Crispy Real Garlic Chicken (Full Combo): Baby Bear and Papa Bear's favorite and a close second for me. Nice light garlicky flavor that doesn't overpower. Crispy Fried Chicken (Full Combo): hm. Least favorite for all of us. Wasn't bad, just plain compared to the other two. Kimchi Fried Rice: kids and husband said they were fine with white rice, so I ordered one cause I personally wanted more than white rice. Guess who ate it all and guess who was left with a bite? Hmph. Next time, might have to order at least 2... Overall, as long as I have the time and patience to wait for my food, this will be the main source of KFC for us. It's fairly close, the wings and drumsticks aren't anorexic yet don't look like they were unnaturally huge either.

Yelp
I was in the area so decided to get some Von's Chicken. Walking in and it seamed pretty quite and there was no line so my wait would be minimal. Employees seame to be busy and preoccupied with other orders. Walked to the counter placed my order and paid. Chicken was ready, picked it up and I was on my way. On the other hand, lets talk about the chicken. Amazingly great tasting chicken. Love that its made fresh and its pipeing hot and steaming when you bite into it. These wings pack a seriouse crunch with evry bite. I love the chicken wings from here. I always try to come have some delisouce wings when I'm in the area of any Von's chicken. Will definately continue to enjoy the great tasing crunchy wings from Von's. Personally I prefer the fried over the baked. Any of the fried selection is really good, you wont go wrong with any of them.

Yelp
This place is finally open for outdoor dining! My friend and I were so excited to have Korean Fried Chicken again and it's always better when dining in. The place is pretty spacious here and most people don't dine in for dinner. It was only my friend and I plus one other party. We were seated and served right away and the workers are accommodating- they gave us napkins, water, and lowered the sun curtains when we requested. What we ordered: - Half Portion Crispy Fried Chicken: This is the best option here! Crispy Fried Chicken in a garlic soy sauce. The soy sauce is delicious and not too saucy. I like the crunch and light texture of the chicken! - Half Portion Yangnyeom chicken: this is their special sauce chicken. Good at first, but after a while it is too much sauce. - Honey Butter French Fries: These are the best fries I've had in my life! It is sweet and crunchy, paired with some Parmesan cheese. It's perfect ! All the chicken comes with pickled radish- a great palette cleanser.

Yelp
I came here to get some quick dinner with a friend Karen to try out the flavors and it was a decent price for a few chicken wings. It tasted really well though there was one other Korea Chicken Wing place that I had also really enjoyed that would blow them away. It's on my Instagram account somewhere, I would have to double check. I remember it was a little cold though and the food was not as hot as I would have wish though it was winter time when Karen and I were getting this place after work.

Yelp
My favorite Korean fried chicken franchise has finally opened near my house! Located at the plaza with 99 ranch, Tastea, Paris Baguette, you'll have plenty of food and drinks to eat after your fried chicken meal. We ordered via phone, and our order was ready in about 15min. The chicken was hot and crispy and the spicy flavor had some kick to it. My only 2 complaints would be there should be more soy sauce on the mild flavor chicken and there were way too many drumettes in our wings order (only 6 wings in 20 pieces, which is a bummer). If there was an opening promo here like the Campbell location, I would foresee myself going here every other week to get my Korean chicken fix :D
