Voodoo Authentica Inc

My boyfriend and I went on a ghost, vampires, and voodoo tour last night and during it our tour guide, DJ, suggested this as the most authentic voodoo shop in the city! We both visited today and it was a lovely experience. Everyone is knowledgeable and allows you to ask questions and look around. It had such a relaxing, peaceful, and pleasant atmosphere!

This was suggested to me by my guide for an unrelated tour. I thoroughly enjoyed the informative/educational signs around the store. Staff were available without being pushy. In addition to buying some things I got a tarot card reading. This was the third time I've had a psychic/paranormal type reading. It was the first that didn't feel fake. It was somewhat generic and would be good advice for anyone, even so it was definitely good advice for me. I'm glad I got the reading.

Walked in to this store expecting a cool experience but I wasn’t impressed at all. There is an open room inside to the left of the front door and I heard a man’s voice very loud and stern talking to someone telling them they needed to do what he was saying and giving them a hard sell on whatever it was, this was a major turn off and I’d didn’t stay in the store long or purchase. Sounds like a rip off place and won’t be back

Stopped in and not really sure what to expect. Very interesting shop. Books and other items available. Owner Juneaux was very informative and knowledgeable of the subject matter. I could have sat there all day talking with him. Highly recommend visiting this culture shop.

I love this place. I never had card ready but I said to myself (why not😃🤔) so I had my card ready by the most amazing lady . And I got a gift for my friend definitely a place to go!!

This was my second time in the shop. I decided to book a reading. I had a 30 minute reading with Raven. This was my first voodoo reading. I was amazed by the details she was able to draw from the cards. There were points when I thought I might start to cry because she was so spot on. She is honest and upfront. The next time I am in New Orleans I will gladly book another reading with Raven.

I've been here a couple of times for readings. It's a cool shop with lots of interesting items. The readings are some of the more reasonably priced in the quarter and feel more "authentic" than others. I recently brought my daughter in for a reading and she was blown away by how accurate it was right out of the gate. Great vibe, super friendly people... zero complaints. It will always be on my list of places to visit when I'm in town.

Really enjoyed visiting Voodoo Authentica. Definitely speak to the folks working there to get a lay of the land. They shared with me that everything there was about positivity/positive energy.

The shop is really cool and compared with the others in the area- it is much more authentic. The staff was friendly and there was a wide variety of things to choose from. Items were reasonably priced. We had a reading from Kamille- and she was wonderful. I would highly recommend her. Overall this is a great shop to visit if you are looking for an authentic experience.

Decided to check this place out. The lobby area is very small. They have lots of goo do items for sale in the lobby. Cool stuff! The tour is self guided. Lots of creepy things. Pics and stories. Certainly worth a stop by and visit!

This voodoo shop is in the French Qtrs. I'm so glad I found it and did not have to pay for admission at another Voodoo Museum. You can make an appointment ahead to have your tarot cards read or psychic reading or Voodoo Unhexing. I bought an unhexing kit for $10 to give to a friend. There Aren't any Voodoo practicers in Seattle. I only also Psychic Readers and Healers. They have examples of different Voodoo Altars. A Giant Voodoo Doll for a drawing display was even at Harrah's Casino. The fictional stories and movies on Voodoo are all about negative Witch Drs. who stick pins in dolls. Real Voodoo is the opposite. It's used to bless a house, the park, new shop, etc. You have to look at the You Tube videos of the Healers. I did not know much about Voodoo before going to Nola. But I learnt a lot on the Ghost and Vampire tour at the French Tour.

Super friendly and knowledgeable. Lots of product variety and information available. I had a reading with Raven and it was a great experience.

Had a wonderful experience at the store. There was a very popular and well known place I went to but that seemed more like a place you go for souvenirs. This store however felt very authentic and filled with energy. The back of the store had items for sale but also alters for the lwa. I did make quite a few purchases here and wish I would have scheduled a reading.

Love the incense, historic presentations and items of the voodoo culture. Although i will warn you, if you make a wish, offering here and don't come back to say thanks. May god be with you, make sure to return. If not, take a look and keep it moving. Voodoo is one of those things that are real

I loved this place! The staff was amazing and the energy was great. I had a reading done by Thee FABULOUS Camille and she was great! I enjoyed her vibe so much.

Stopped in today on a whim and so happy I did. I found a few beautiful unique items as well as some things I needed. The atmosphere was blissful, healing and loving. Feeling blessed to have walked in today.

It's the first time I've ever had a reading done and Kamille was spot on! She made me feel at ease and gave me some great clarity on some of my life concerns. I will definitely be back and recommend anyone else to check this place out!

Very intense and full shop. Lots of Items to choose from and more "real" feeling than some of the other shops we visited. Girls got tarot readings as loved them!!

Authentica was our favorite Voodoo/witchery shop that we visited during our stay in New Orleans. They had ingredients that you could purchase that none of the other shops we visited had. You can tell that the shop is very popular because when we visited, it was pretty crowded, and rightfully so. The shop had 3 rooms, the first room where you enter had a few things such as candles, books, pendulums, etc. The room immediately to the left had a space for readings, shelves of jarred ingredients, and more. The back room I thought was the most interesting because they had all kinds of different dolls, altars, and other unique items with a little bit of a description. Definitely check this shop out.

The best place to go for a tarot reading in New Orleans. Wonderful products and gifts. A must stop when I'm the French quarter. Call ahead and make a reservation for a reading.

My daughter and I each had readings with Kamille and we were both very impressed. She was very insightful. I'm not someone who frequents psychics, but Kamille said many things that really resonated with me and gave me lots to think about. I would definitely recommend a reading here and I also thought that the price was reasonable.

Kamille is amazing!! If you want to get a reading in a highly spiritual area of the world I can't recommend her more. She was spot on from the second I sat down with her, far exceeded any expectations I had. She's so warm as well, you want to be friends with her by the time you leave!

My daughter and I are frequent shoppers here at this unique store. When we are in town or online, we do find the tools we need.. Shopping on site is an experience itself! We do appreciate the staff that are more than gracious to help with our questions. They do a great job of keeping us informed in case an item is on a back order or just simply waiting for the items to come into stock.. we haven't had any issues there..

Best of all the voodoo shops in New Orleans! I had been here 12 years ago and was happy to see it has not changed. I love to come here to look at the Haitian beaded flags as well as all their other authentic items and shrines. You can really feel the energy here. I was looking to buy gifts for my (voodoo) dolls and though it wouldn't be an expensive purchase, the woman working tried to be very helpful. It was appreciated. It isn't 'all about the money' as is the case with the two other nearby shops. Had I planned better, I would have done a tarot reading, but they were fully booked. Next trip! I ended up buying two tea-lite candles for "prosperity" as gifts for my dolls. I know many do not believe. Yesterday, a week after my purchase and return home, I received an email informing me of a $540 check being sent - from an auction I had consigned a small item to a year ago! I had completely forgotten about it! Great place to visit!

Quirky shop; nice staff, very cool with plenty to browse; bought a great piece of jewelry here on my last visit. Love the variety of items (candles, masks, sage, crosses, books, etc)

I had my doubts, but I highly recommend visiting. Their altars are very interesting, and the readings they offer are not just a throw-away tourist attraction. My friend and I decided to book $45 30-minute readings (we had to choose a day 3 days out because they book up, but you can call in advance of your trip to reserve your slot). I wasn't sure what to expect, but the voodoo priest was a great guy. He talked to us like real people, coached us the way a therapist does, and there were some tears. It really just felt like talking to a good friend who wants the best for you. He read tarot cards and spent the full time with us. Please tip them; this is their livelihood, and are much cheaper than others in New Orleans. One other thing to mention is that the appointment right before ours was actually a phone call appointment. You can pay via credit card and have a reading/session over the phone.

It is my go to place to find my spiritual tools in New Orleans. It's safe and comfortable. The customer service is the BEST. I'm grateful for the space offered.

The absolute best Voodoo store in the Quarter. We were recommended here by a mutual friend that is a Voodoo High Priest. Staff was incredible in every way. The selection was equally as amazing! Items were slightly more expensive, however, it is the real thing not just a bunch of touristy trap items. Please check this location out! You will not be disappointed!

Voodoo Authentica is located in a very populated area. They offer a variety of voodoo-related items and readings. The vibes were great here, I definitely recommend visiting what they have to offer!

The woman at the counter was so sweet and they had great candles and herbs! However, the woman in the back was incredible rude to me and my partner and very clearly didn't not like us there. Recommend heavily for practitioners needing supplies, but the energy does not match if you are sensitive to that. Disappointing as far as supply and practitioner shops go.

Love love love this place...the staff is awesome, especially Papa Zaar. I always stop by when I'm in the Big Easy. So many fascinating things to see in this quaint shop. The energy here is great as well. They offer Tarot readings but you best call ahead and get an appointment, if you're smart. They are always booked!!

I had my first trip to NOLA recently. There were so many things to see and experience. I am so glad I decided to give this place a try! This shop was definitely one of my favorite stops. it's so nice to see how things work out the way that they do. I had no intention of getting a reading done in this store. The guy working the register was so kind and helpful. I just wanted to look around and see what they had. Ended up scheduling a reading, and I was beyond SATISFIED. Kamille has such an inviting presence. She knew what she was doing, and she's able to recognize you for who you are. I felt seen by her, her guidance and message that came across was something I needed to hear. If I am ever back in the area, I'm definitely coming back.

Small and quaint, but very cool if you are a fan of alternative religions. More than just a shop, but also a great learning experience about a religion many see as dark and evil.

My favorite French Quarter stop. I go every time I'm in Nola. They have the best Tarot readers around! It smells lovely inside and there are several altars where you can read about saints and santeria.

Disclaimer - I don't believe any of this stuff (or any other religious stuff)...that said, it's interesting to see what they sell, what they believe and as I take it at face value, this is like any other tourist targeted shop in any other city, just with different wares being sold. Worst tarot card reading I have ever had and I've had several! The guy was HORRIBLE! Do not waste your money!!! I paid for 30 min. My reading was 15 minutes!

Voodoo Authentica is a lovely shop located on the 600 block of Dumaine St. in the french quarter. I make it a point to visit the shop every time I am in town. Last year I stopped in to pick up a few of my favorite items. Murray & Lanman Florida water and Triloka inscese. Egyptian Musk being my favorite. You will also find an assortment of other items that may interest you as well. From traditional Voodoo dolls, candles, potions, books or any spiritual products you may need. There are beautiful Haitian tapestries and African art pieces for sale as well. If you are interested in a Tour or Tarot reading this is the place for you. A variety of altars are set up in areas of the shop to honor each deity or what are know as Loas in the Voodoo religion. If you have an interest in learning more about the Voodoo religion, this is the perfect place to stop in. The Voodoo religion is often misunderstood. The practitioners at the shop will be happy to educate anyone who is truly interested in learning more about Voodoo. If the owner Mambo Brandi is in the shop, make sure to stop and chat with her. She is the sweetest person you will ever meet. She will greet you with a beautiful smile and her positive energy will make your day.

A lot of interesting artifacts in the store & I appreciate how they trace voodoo back to its African origins but a little more information on the items they're selling would have been nice. They have these really helpful signs around the store demystifying some of their more popular items (like voodoo dolls) but I wish they had something like this for all of their items. My friend had a reading (which is a tarot reading btw) and it was very insightful but their advice is to come into it with some specific questions/ideas about areas of your life where you need clarity.

Yesterday, my friends and I found ourselves in a very unusual situation... we were given a voodoo doll by our SRO who was given the doll by my ex-boyfriend's dad who was recently vacationing with family in New Orleans. Charlie (the SRO) thought it was only fit that we activate it. On the back of the doll, there was instructions to find the VooDoo King, we were lost. Helpless even. Thankful we found VooDoo Authentica Inc. to save the day! We called at 11 here since they opened at 11 but when we went to the bathroom we realized- with the help of a girl in the stall- there was a hour time difference. So then, we called right as they opened at 11 there, 12 here. Our goal was to repel the hideous Jaxon Hillner. We first talked to Catelyn who was a true angel. We had to call multiple times with our questions because we kept running into more problems. The third time we called, someone who was named Marty(?) answered and was not being helpful and giving us attitude. Let me be clear, we are not sure their name is Marty (?), we couldn't understand that well. They also tried to scam us into buying their "potion". Catelyn later debunked this scam and told us the truth of what to get. Anyway, Marty (?) was very sassy. We then requested to be transferred to Catelyn again who was now our most favorite person on earth. Catelyn answered every question in depth and should deserve a raise. Thankfully, we were successfully able to repel Jaxon Hillner with the help of the fantabulous Catelyn (NOT MARTY(?))! Catelyn was even kind enough to let us call her back and update her on the awful, bully that is known as Jaxon Hillner. We wish Catelyn luck on her future endeavors and please Catelyn's boss, promote her. We would give 5 stars if not for Marty (?). Have a blessed day!!

Wish I could give them six stars!! We are working with Voodoo Authentica to have dolls sent to our clients for our halloween event. Brandi's team was responsive, fast to deliver, reasonably priced, NICE...just everything you would hope for professionally and personally. It's been such a pleasure to work with you and to have a chance to bring some real New Orleans culture to my customers in Maine- thank you, I would highly recommend this store and their employees and I hope to do business with them again soon !!!

Our ghost tour ended at Voodoo Authentica where we each got a chance to wander and purchase things as well. Luckily my guide warned me to be careful about what I was grabbing/touching since many of the items were actually a part of a shrine and not for sale. HIGHLY recommend getting the "Attract a Mate" voodoo potion. I am not kidding men were coming out of the woodwork a month into me wearing the love potion religiously. The SMALLEST dab will do ya- bc it is very potent. Kinda smells like a grandma's perfume that was trapped in a funeral home for a decade. I had to stop wearing the potion when things were getting dicey with the fellas. Can't wait to wear it again when the time is right. Very friendly people working within the shop!

I dropped in here and it was such a cool store. They have voodoo dolls, oils, etc. It is dark but voodoo is dark. They have jewelry, candles, oils, etc. If you are into voodoo, I'd say this is the place to go in the French Quarter. It's about a block from Decatur and two blocks from Bourbon but it's in-between the two so it's really on the way to everything.

Voodoo Authentica is a cute shop and a bit better than the other voodoo shops. Things just seem more 'real' here. It's fun to look around and I've heard good things about their readings if you're into that. Voodoo Authentica is right in the French Quarter so it could be a quick pop in if you're in the area. Or a bit more time consuming if you decide to have one of their readings. They have a bunch of fun items to look through. If you're looking for slightly less of the kitsch and more of the real deal, Voodoo Authentica should fit your bill.

love this store, but things can be pretty damn pricy in here. However, theres such cool artwork and all your voodoo needs. i appreciate how much local items are in here. As said, the prices are steep. its 2 rooms, covered wall to floor with so much. take your time and find something you want. this is my fave voodoo store in town (that i have found so far).

This shop is fantastic. It's very welcoming and not gimmicky. I felt like the staff was really knowledgeable and helpful. You could tell they love talking about and teach about voodoo. My interaction was great--I told the super nice gentleman what I was going through and he recommended the perfect item. My Oya doll and I haven't been separated since. I really appreciate that he took the time to explain her protections and offer other suggestions as well. I'm looking forward to returning here on my next visit.

Beautiful place to see various alters and buy some tchotchkes. Nice collection of Haitian style sequin banners and bottles. It's always fun to watch tourists look genuinely afraid of the voodoo stuff as they enter. Their churches back home are probably doing way scarier things.

After going on the Voodoo tour and learning the history of the religion and their practice, my friend and I made a pit stop to voodoo authentica to peruse around the shop and immerse ourselves on the culture and religion. I ended up buying a personalized grisgris pouch, potions, and incenses. I will be openly honest. I walked into this with an open mind not knowing what to expect from my purchases, but to follow the instructions and be respectful. Ever since I got my grisgris pouch, I've felt nothing but GOOD VIBES and positivity. I honestly feel safe and protected. I also requested good fortune and prosperity. Now several weeks after having my gifts, I carry my grisgris pouch every where I go. And just yesterday, I went over to the casino to test my luck (lol). Mind you, I NEVER WIN...never big. Only an extra $20-$100. But the casinos always tend to win their money back from me hahaha. But with my pouch in hand and an extra anointment of my "good luck" potion, I won big for the first time! And then I kept winning little buckets of cash! People might say it's sheer coincidence, but I honestly feel these Gifts from nature drew some good juju and protection my way. Definitely stop by and check out Voodoo Authentica. The staff are all very friendly and truly genuine. They also have Voodoo practitioners onsite to create and bless your gris gris. I love my grisgris and am very appreciative and happy it is personalized. Totally worth it!!!
