Eat and Drink Your Way Around Virginia Beach | Eater

"This upscale brew pub is well worth the detour out to Pembroke Square shopping center. The draft list changes frequently and features picks from Voo Doo’s own production as well as kegs from other area breweries. Examples of current house beers include the Thunder Lizard Imperial IPA, Voodoo Love Child Belgian Tripel, and Wynona’s Big Brown Ale. Beers are available in taster, half, or full-sized pours, making Voo Doo a great spot to sip on a flight and discover a new favorite while snacking on pub bites." - Travis Mitchell

A great spot to enjoy one — or several — beers! The outdoor area was relaxed and inviting, with plenty of seating and shaded spots if you prefer to stay out of the sun. They offer a wide selection of different beers, with something for every taste. The standout for me was the New England IPA — absolutely the highlight! It’s a bit tucked away, but definitely worth seeking out. A perfect stop to include if you're exploring the Arts District. Great atmosphere, great beer — highly recommended!

Fun little brewery with a cozy, intimate vibe and a mix of cocktail and beer options. Not all the beers are brewed in-house, some come from other breweries, which adds variety. The staff is friendly, and the decor is playful and creative, both inside and outside. There’s a small paid parking lot ($2/hr). Great spot to relax and try a few drinks in a laid-back setting.

If your not listening for music you'll drive right by it like I did. It's in the cut. Nice vibe. Cool litte bar with their own beer. I'll be going back there as soon as I find a cool chick to take there.

Came in on a busy night and enjoyed a beer. The bar is small, so any indoor seating will be limited. There was also only one bartender and they seemed super slammed and stressed, if it's busy expect there to be a wait to get a beer. The seating outside is a mishmash of refurbished tables, which is totally cool just careful with your drink!

WOW what can I say about Voodoo Brewery Company. All I can say is Lacto Kooler the Green Beer. My brother and I were in Awe of this Beer...!!! My brother and I absolutely loved this place right from the get go. The guy taking care of us ( I'm drawing a major blank ) ( forgot his name but he's in one of the pictures posted ) he was simply outstanding and very friendly and great to talk to while we were there. Voodoo is extremely clean ( especially the washrooms ) and is just a small cool place to hang and have fun. There were Four Ladies that were doing video shoots for the Voodoo Brewing Company, and were nice to talk to about things. And after we finally got back home ( Vancouver Canada 🇨🇦 ) it was nice to finally see on Facebook what the Ladies were working on while we were there. Check it out on Facebook it's very well done 😀 After watching all the work they had done while we were there, and seeing it all on Facebook after. It sure shows how the Voodoo Brewing Company can get busy on the weekends or on special nights. On the outside of the building there are games you can play like Bean Bag toss and more. They also have DJ's and Live music in the evenings as well and food trucks also. If you're ever in the Arts District and anywhere close to the Voodoo Brewing Company then you must stop in and have a flight or pint for sure. I promise you you won't be disappointed at all ( we certainly weren't ) Cheers to the Voodoo Brewing Company 🍻👍👍

Google
Solid spot for some beer, the outside area was super chill. Lots of seating and shade if you want it. The beer was fine, the big standout was their sour, it was very good. The others were fine, but I had better beer elsewhere in the Arts District.

Google
This brewery was hidden and tucked away in the arts district. We were the only ones in there but the esthetics of the place just drew us is. The beer was another topic of great stuff. The Lacto Kooler sour was one of my favorites. It had a great green color to it and it was just sour enough to not be overpowering. Their Cow Bell stout was really creamy and smooth as well.

Yelp
Great service, told the beertender what I like and she recommended a red cider. It was magical! I don't remember the name cuz I had a couple from 4 breweries. Gorgeous outdoor area to hang out. A band was setting up before we left, so I'm guessing they had live music. Thank you Voodoo Brewing!

Yelp
In an effort to find something quick to indulge in, we came here. It's a smallish bar downtown. I think there is outdoor seating but now that it's Vegas summer hot, we're limited to indoors. I thought the beer I had was fine. I'm no beer connoisseur. But here's what I wasn't a fan of: No price on the menus. I always find that kind of a shitty flex. Part of the job of the menu is to give information on what's on offer, and how much it costs. Part of my decision making on whether I want something is to know how much it costs ahead of time. And no one wants to ask the bartender how much each item is. It's the Applebee drink menu trick and I'm over it. Water in tiny plastic cups. Just wasteful and spits in the face of mother earth. I like the name but didn't see how the brand was reflected in the space. Probably not a place I would come back to.

Yelp
We had a nice visit to Voodoo Brewing. Tasty suds. Very cool outside space. Colorful funky spot in the Arts District.

Yelp
Voodoo Brewing is another brewery in the Arts District that just opened. When I looked them up on my maps app to figure out where they were, it said that they were temporarily closed (???), but we decided to check anyways, and it turns out, they were open! We entered from the back alley off Utah Avenue coming from Main Street, but their actual entrance is found off Commerce Street. Out of most breweries and bars I've been to in the Arts District, Voodoo Brewing has one of the largest outdoor patios I've ever seen. Upon entering, there was a dummy positioned on top of a table in front of us, where at first we thought it was a real person lol. It was a nice night so we chose to sit outside. Since they are still new, they have a limited number of beer selections available (I think I counted 8 or 10), but they should add more as the months and years go by. I got myself an Empty Calories American Lager Ale and my boyfriend got a Voodoo Child Belgian Ale (my glass was way taller than his). The Empty Calories was excellent and I ended up finishing the entire thing. I like lighter beers better than darker beers so I tend to finish a beer easier if it's light. I tried a bit of his Voodoo Child, which was a dark ale, but it was a little too strong for my taste. The restrooms here were super clean. In the women's restroom, they have various perfumes and body lotions that you can use free of charge, plus some small books that you can read. The ambiance inside had lots of various shades of pink to it as well. Voodoo's ambiance in general makes it a great place to hang out and enjoy a great, cold beer, no matter what day it is. Great little hidden gem in the Arts District! Another new brewery has been crossed off my visit list.

Yelp
On Friday we were walking by not planning on coming here however the smell of food pulled us in. It was a taco stand in the back of the business with delicious tacos. Meanwhile a reggae band started playing. There's outdoor games. We had a great time!

Yelp
We stopped in one night and ordered a flight. They had limited options the night we came maybe 8'ish beers. They serve them in plastic cups which is meh.. i do understand but it does kill the vibe of tasting beer from a plastic. The beer was pretty good. The interior is small but they have a large outdoor patio. The night we came, they had a rockabilly band playing outside and a couple small vendors selling food. It was a nice touch having live music. The seating is pretty limited so if it's busy, expect to stand. We only interacted with the bartender but he was nice enough.

Yelp
Just tried the hot new taproom in town and honestly, it was a slight letdown. The interior space is TINY. So the months when it's super cold or mega hot, good luck finding a seat. They do have a nice and spacious patio that will be great when weather permits, but having a space that's 85% patio out here is pretty risky imo. The beer itself was meh. We tried 5 beers overall and really only loved 1 of them. The other 4 weren't bad, but they weren't great. It was also strange that their low calorie lager tasted like a Belgian beer with huge notes of clove. Something was very off. Their stout, "Where our secrets go", was delicious which is not surprising as they're known for their stouts. I hope in the future they bring more of that stout goodness around - something I think us beer geeks in the valley would love to enjoy. With so much competition within a few blocks, they're really going to need to step up that beer game for this taproom. Bar service was okay. Not overly friendly. I also did not like that the beer menu was in a funky location that was a little difficult to see. Especially with a patron sitting at the end of the bar blocking half the menu. Also a bit turned off by their pricing. $25 for 1 pint and 1 flight of 4 beers. Other than the stout, the other beers were super low abv so not sure why they were so much. Comparable to Able Baker I guess, but higher than other breweries. This location is brand new for them so we'll give it a few months before we give them a shot again. If things don't improve by our 3rd visit, we'll probably add them to our "don't bother going" list.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem in the Art district. Nestled in anally of Main Street is Voodoo Brewery. One you enter the gate you find yourself in what looks like a backyard. It was 4/20 when I visited and there was music, food, and friendly people. Inside the small building are arcade games, TVs, and many board games. If you are there cross your fingers your friendly bartender is Shantelle. She is knowledgeable, friendly, and just a sweet heart. She took the time to explain the drinks, make recommendations, and shoot the breeze. FYI go with the Beach Gear sooooo goood. I will be coming by again when I'm back in town.

Yelp
This is one of the newest breweries that make up Brewery Row in the Arts District. It is a chain of breweries in Pennsylvania, with franchised locations in other states. This location, in the Arts District of Downtown Las Vegas, is a casual taproom with an outdoor area that features live music. I had a flight of four beers. My favorites were Beach Gear, a blonde ale that is quite hoppy; and Where Our Secrets go, which is an imperial stout with 9% alcohol by volume. The employees working at the bar were personable. The band was fun to watch during my visit on a Saturday night.

Yelp
Really cool place in the Art district with a nice selection of beers and various activities that they schedule like game nights, etc.

Yelp
Place was chill, the vibe was chill lots of outdoor seating. It's brand new so not a lot of Options but plenty to have a good beer and enjoy the atmosphere and company

Yelp
Welllll....my first visit was a disappointment. I was hoping to grab a few lacto's to enjoy during superbowl but they had zero for carry out. The positive: It's very cozy inside and looked super clean. They had contractors working inside on a sat afternoon and there were only 2 patrons in the bar. I came..saw..& left empty-handed.

Yelp
I love this new spot in the art district. It's a hidden gem with great beers on tap and amazing service. Austin was very kind to our group. He immediately came to our table to take our order and go over the menu. I'll definitely come back and bring more friends for the experience.

Yelp
With a burgeoning craft beer scene in the DTLV Arts District AKA Brewery Row, Voodoo Brewing is the latest entry. Slightly challenging to find with a very small taproom and large patio, this International Brewery Concept may not quite keep up with our local competition. Mediocre craft beer at a higher price point than typical yet a service oriented staff filling in the gaps with a chill and relaxed vibe. Food Trucks and frequent events with social media marketing may be a saving grace for this location.. Always happy to see different sectors of our town grow, and this is a fun addition to downtown Las Vegas.

Yelp
Voodoo Brewing, a new addition to the Arts District, appeared close on my maps app. I enjoyed an excellent Empty Calories American Lager Ale, while my spouse tried the Voodoo Ale. The ambiance, complete with complimentary perfumes and lotions, make Voodoo Brewing a fantastic spot to relax and enjoy a cold beer.

Yelp
Just discovered this new hidden gem in our neighborhood. Saw the sign upon walking by, checked Yelp to see if it was open, and walked in. It's a small tap room, but they have a nice selection of beers, and a beautiful large outdoor space, that will be amazing for our one week of spring in LV . Will definitely be back soon.
google avatar

Yelp
Love the vibe, love the beer. Outdoor area will be awesome with warmer weather! Cocktails are sneaky good too

Yelp
My man Austin was great behind the bar. Great place to hang with friends and play some corn hole. Arts District PLEASE come and support this new bar addition.

Kim M.

Yelp
Just starting out, so don't expect all of the beers on the website. We have a flight of for $15, very reasonable! Lacto-kooler was a bright green berliner Weisse and was fantastic! The others, Big Black Voo Doo Daddy, Ricky Spanish DIPA, Good Vibes W IPA were all in line woth expectations from great breweries. Small place inside with a nice outside. Michelin chef (!!!!! What!!) outside grilling food with his own specialty wood. We already ate but the smell made me hungry! I heard from other patrons the burgers were to die for!!

Megan D.

Yelp
Austin is the best bartender ever! Great little spot and some amazing looking food outside.

Patty K.

Yelp
Had a great time at Voodoo Brewing today! Wonderful service, the bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable. They didn't have a large selection, however, everything we tried was awesome. The outdoor seating was fun! We will definitely be back, as we were told new deliveries are usually on Thursdays. We are excited to try other beers by Voodoo Brewing!

Joshua M.
