Beautiful! Great place for locals to come for free Monday through Thursday. 3 pools. The back one is 21 and over. The other 2 are perfect for kids, depth not exceeding 4 ft.

The remodel is STUNNING! We got a cabana at the shell pool and it was such a great experience! Everything was super clean! The bathrooms were well kept and looked newly remodeled as well. There’s a good mix of families with young kids and older adults in the all ages pools. Lifeguards were super on top of things. The piña coladas were perfect, the music was great, and the vibes were on point. Some of the pool reservation staff were young, they seemed a little clueless at times but they were nice and you gotta start somewhere right?! Not to mention, the whole casino is under going renovations and looks so good and the Starbucks looks fancy as heck and the chicken place at the new food court was bomb!! I really hope they continue to get the visitors they deserve as they go on with their remodels! Me and my bf have been coming here since we met and we love it, everything keeps getting better. Also Pepe & Max are the best bartenders EVER!

One pool was closed don’t use this on the resort pass. The DJ is awful dudes as loud as marquee beach club but he was literally playing Rick roll, awful you can tell no one is there for the DJ due to him being too loud because all of the seats in front of the DJ booth will fill up last. Pretty awful wouldn’t suggest this pool.

Google
Awful experience. Rented a daybed, in 3 hours I got ONE drink. Pathetically understaffed. Bucket of (warm) waters that came with the bed took 2.5 hours to arrive. Manager said he would take off the charges, then they charge my CC DOUBLE, and did not respond to texts.

Google
Very friendly service. You can pay for reserved seating for about $40 which comes with a bucket of waters. There is a certain time of day though they stop enforcing seating which is disappointing for those who paid for this. They had a dj on the weekends and wasn’t too crowded.

My fiance and I stayed for 3 nights for his birthday. Pool hours are ridiculous, it's still sunny and beautiful at 5PM, no reason for it to be closed. This was our first stay at this hotel, Front Desk staff made no effort to describe how or where to find our room, despite us asking, she shooed us away. The Staff Member standing near express check in cut us off mid sentence to ask if we had scanned their QR Code map (which does not show you where to find the rooms, only vaguely named towers and elevators), rolled his eyes when we said we had, vaguely pointed us in a direction, and was extremely condescending to us. After almost 2 hours of desperately walking around the casino floor with all of our luggage, another guest of the hotel had to show us where to find the elevators to our floor. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, food from the Canteen is delicious, but the Staff Members need to work on their Customer Service.

Google
They close the pool too early if you have a room at the Rio you should be able to swim until at least 11:00 p.m., don't you understand that's the reason why people come to Vegas get room so they can swim in the pool

Loved this pool last year as a local but this year locals are no longer free with rewards unless you are azul or above which is a bummer there was a lot of locals coming to this pool

Yelp
It really is unfortunate to see so many bad reviews about this casino. We had a great time would we would last weekend. We got to stay in one of the remodeled rooms, although there was a random plastic bag over our fire alarm and the bathroom door layout was kind of strange the room itself was pretty great. The AC didn't get as cold as we would like but that's kind of expected for most larger hotels. My partner and I had visited the chicken tender and cheeseburger place during odd hours and had pretty great service for the most part, and reasonably priced. My partner had lost something of value to him twice LOL and employees picked it up and bagged it in lost and found immediately. They were so great with handling the whole situation and getting us our belongings back in a timely manner. Th WOW show was great for what it was, and they are at dirt cheap prices now as well. Remodeling is still going on so pools were shut down and alot of odd hours for dining but it didn't ruin our good time. I normally stay at the Bellagio or Cesar's, but diced I didn't want to be in the middle of the strip this trip and it was nice.

Yelp
As soon as you walk in, you're hitting the face with the cigarette smoke. Ironically, there was a sign out front saying no cannabis, smoking, however, cigarettes, which actually kills people are allowed. On top of that, the hotel is clearly very dated. It doesn't look like we got one of the rooms things for worn and torn, rusted and molded. When we first entered the hotel room at a very distinguishable, musk smell. When we asked housekeeping, we were told that whoever cleaned the room forgot to spray whatever odor reducing spray they put in the room. I can tell how this hotel used to be a prime spot but until they finish renovating, it's not worth the exuberant crisis that's being charged. One caveat is that we found a website that had the hotel super cheap at only like $13 a night so we just paid that plus the $60 resort fee per day. At that price, it was worth it. The pools were really nice, they weren't too crowded when we went. If you do like to gamble, the machines seem pretty up-to-date, although I didn't gamble. Overall, with the price that we paid, I wouldn't have paid much more than that.

Yelp
I enjoyed staying here a few months ago, so I re-booked a room for the Rio on this trip. The lady who checked us in was very nice but informed us that they were sold out of the renovated rooms. I had no idea there were two types of rooms, but she gave us $50 food credit. The room was definitely older than our previous room. The renovations brought rooms from the 90s to the modern century. It was clear that everything in the room was quite old, from the telephone to the desk and couch. Overall everything was clean, but old and worn down. The ceilings and windows were dirty and damaged, however. AC did not work that well and it was hard to get to a comfortable temperature. The only redeeming feature was the view from our 38th floor room. We could see the city, mountains in the back, and had a direct view of sunset. A renovated room would be worth a stay, but I'm not sure if I will be taking that gamble next time.

Yelp
Having stayed here 3 times in the past 2 years, this hotel gives me mixed feelings. On one hand, the rates are quite affordable compared to many of the hotels on the strip. For the price you're paying, the rooms are spacious, neat, and well-decorated. On the other hand, there's always something that is complaint-worthy when I visit. This time, it was the fact that half of the shower door was just missing. I had to angle the shower head toward the wall to prevent spills. I could have called the front desk, but I was already settled in and my schedule for this trip was somewhat busy. Two of my friends also booked rooms, and they each had their own problems. The front desk did not have any other rooms available, so they offered to knock the daily resort fee of ~$55 off for their first day of stay. One room had a smell of sulfur, and the other room has signs of still undergoing renovation (Masquerade tower). Of note, all three of us reserved a room on a high floor but were given a room on either the 4th or 7th floor. Other downsides of staying at the Rio: - Separated from the rest of the strip by I-15, and the walk over is both convoluted and hot - No poker room at the casino Despite these shortcomings, I still enjoyed my stay, especially at the price point I paid. The rooms are otherwise nice and the self check-in/check-out kiosk was very convenient to use. The front desk provides complimentary water bottles at the front desk at your request. Here's to hoping that they complete renovation soon and get these hiccups in service sorted out.

Yelp
I see why the line was so long now! This room is amazing! The price under $100.00. This room is amazing it's bigger than 1 bedroom apartments. Customer service at check in was great! Only thing, my TV would change channels. I'd be watching something and it would just change, guess I didn't need to watch what I wanted to watch. I called the operator, it took forever, the first time I thought I pushed the wrong button, hung up and called back. The work order was placed, she said make sure the do not disturb sign isn't on the door. I was super tired, it took along time for maintenance, so I called CS back to cancel the work order. She said she couldn't. I said it's not like the toilet is overflowing, it's regarding the tv. She said she couldn't stop it and they are coming. So I put the do not disturb sign on the door and put the latch on the door so they couldn't enter.... A few moments later Knock on the door several times, as I lay in my bed, then they tried to enter, they couldn't! then they knocked again and went away!

Yelp
Great hotel with a lot to offer. It is far from the strip so keep that in mind. If you want to walk it will be about 30 min. The rooms are dates but very large, with large windows and great views. I would personally not stay here again because it wasn't very lively - we came on a Thursday. Just not a lot of people and some stores closed.

Yelp
I am writing this review after my third stay at Rio. The first was years ago, the second in January and the third August (this trip revue). They have renovated a lot of the hotel already although there are a few areas on the casino floor still under construction. I enjoy staying here for a multitude of reasons: - Off-strip which provides great views of the strip. Short Uber ride to the strip and it is much less chaotic - Good deals especially for their newly renovated rooms - The suites are large and comfortable - Very convenient rideshare area just to the side of the front entrance - Pool is pretty large although I couldn't find much shade - Added food court with a variety of options - Has some of my favorite casino games I also had a positive experience with the front desk and housekeeping. I called for more toilet paper and it was delivered within 10 minutes. The two things that I wish are that The Wine Cellar was open every day and that there was some kind of Brazilian steakhouse or restaurant to match the hotel theme. In all, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Rio and will be back!

Yelp
The newly remodeled Rio is very nice! My review is based on my stay and gambling here. My stay. Renovated Ipanema room was quiet and huge. See pics. Great setup with bed/TV/sofa. Also refrigerator in the room. Overall clean in rooms and clean in the hallway. Elevators were spotty as several were not working. Also ate at the Indian buffet which was limited but good food. Only limited pools open during the weekdays with friendly staff there. Gambling. Floor has seen better days. Played slots and servers came by very infrequently. Great assortment of slot machines. Sports book is run by independent contractor. Staff. Good staff except for one rude guy when I was checking in, but not a major problem. About 1/2 mile off the strip with great price for the stay.

Yelp
I've been coming here off and on for about 20 years. It was great in it's glory days, but then it started going down hill as it got older. The time I was here before this stay, it was like an abandoned flea market, including feral cats. BUT, since it has new ownership, things seem to have gotten much better. The Sports Book bar was closed, and now it's open on certain days. There is a lot of renovation still going on, but it's definitely headed in the right direction. The room I had was very nice, but a terrible view from a lower floor (oh well, can't win them all). Everything in the room felt fresh and updated. There were still a few corners that needed to be touched up, but the bed was comfy and the furniture was new. Honestly, one of the best things about the Rio was the self check in. I got a text about 24 hours ahead of time suggesting a mobile check in, so I did. It was very easy, and you can look at all the people waiting in line to check in manually. It was a very smooth experience. I will probably stay here again.

Yelp
Ok folks I know the Rio has been a dump for a very long time, Caesar's palace ran it to the ground and turned it into a third world motel. They sold the property about a year ago to dreamscape which is part of Hyatt hotels and they hav renovated all the rooms in the old tower, and the mascarade tower will eventually get a makeover also. I was invited to stay at their new renovated rooms and I will say it's very nice, new beds, new furniture, huge tv. They also put a refrigerator and totally remodeled the bathroom with a shower only no more grungy tubs. The only gripe was that the water pressure on the shower was very bad. I thoroughly enjoyed staying there, the casino still has some work that needs to be done, I figure within a year they have the whole casino floor popping again. If you just need a nice large room and I do mean large the remodeled rooms at the Rio would be the place with free parking and their food options definitely has improved with a new food hall.

Yelp
Save yourself the trouble. There is nowhere to park and check into the hotel. Half the driveway is coned off with caution tape. There was an absolute mob of people waiting to check in. Used kiosk instead, but it doesn't tell you which tower your room is located in, so you're forced into the obscene line anyway. There is no way to enter directly into the hotel. You have to navigate through 10 minutes of walking through the smoky, sad casino floor. The signage is awful, leading you to chain-locked doors instead of the elevators. Once we had it to the room after 14 minutes of walking, the room is pleasantly large. However, there is only 1 single accessible outlet in the bedroom area, the temperature in the room won't seem to go below 76ish, there are no luggage holders, the couch and lampshades are stained, carpet has burn holes in it, and our room included two used bandages on the floor. The water pressure is abysmal. The tub is in disrepair, leaks anand in need of caulk & grout replacement, and the water pressure is non-existent. The floor to ceiling windows on one whole wall provide a view of the highway & train tracks. Despite being on the 28th floor, a train passing by sounds like an airplane landing on the roof. You can hear the neighbor's doors opening & closing. Let's not forgot the window from the bedroom area info the shower & toilet area. Whatever money you're saving staying a few miles off the strip at this HoJo level motel, is not worth it.

Yelp
35% off rooms right now! Well, we now know why the rooms were cheap. We stayed here Saturday thru Tuesday this week. The new owners are investing $340 million in renovations... and they're not done yet. Check in - don't try to use the kiosks. Those only accept your reservation number. But as the front desk staff told us they are converting to a system where you provide your drivers license and they use first 3 letters of first and last name. So management, please put a sign on the kiosks that they won't work. It was a very hot weekend. The ice machine is broken on the 13th floor of the Masquerade tower so don't get a room on the 13th. I went to the 14th floor to get ice a couple days and the lights are out in the elevator lobby on that floor. So actually, don't stay in the Masquerade Tower at all. There's no room cleaning service which was fine for a short stay. I'm sure we could have asked for more towels if needed. But annoying - no bar soap for handwashing. You have to use the shower soap pump. The pool has been remodeled but is only open until 6pm, which is insane. It's so hot and guests (like me) would love it if we could get out there after 6pm when there's finally some shade and not get burned to a crisp. I get that there's no money in it, and actually costs payroll to stay open later, but there's nothing better than a cool swim after a hot day. Maybe open some of the bars and advertise a night swim. They have converted the Carnival Buffet into a food court with 6 small restaurants. Nama Nama sushi doesn't carry nigiri sushi, only hand rolls/cut rolls, one sashimi. The only good deal was frozen custard ($5) from Tender Crush. The highlight of our weekend was seeing the taping of Penn and Teller's Fool Us show. We are huge fans of P & T so it made our stay much more enjoyable. I see the Rio is still running the 35% off sale, so who knows, maybe we'll try again in another couple months when they've had more time for renovation.

Yelp
In 9 months, you can create a human baby! An even bigger miracle is that the Rio can go from a total dump craphole mess of a property into a much more vibrant and hopping place. I'm not sure about the guest rooms, but the casino is now somewhat respectable! There was a pretty nice (and new) food hall, other restaurants around the property, but still plenty of places being renovated and some odd detours and curtains that make it tricky to find your way around. When it's finished, it will probably be even better! Give it another 9 months to achieve baby elephant status! The Comedy Cellar is the reason we come and we think it's the best comedy club in Vegas. Great drink service and plenty of comedians for a reasonable price. Read my previous review for fun, but most of it is invalid as of June 2024.

Yelp
We stayed here because of a good deal for a room in the renovated Ipanema Tower, and it was quite nice. The room was very spacious, beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and well-furnished. The resort was still in the process of being renovated, and a big part of the casino floor near the check-in desk was under construction, so be prepared for this kind of experience. When we arrived, the check-in line was pretty long, but it moved surprisingly quickly, and our agent was really pleasant and efficient. The fitness room is big and has a wide variety of weights and cardio equipment. The pools are nice and pleasantly cool, but they closed at 6 PM, which was baffling to me (especially since it was still well above 100 degrees outside in the evening, a perfect time to relax in the pool without the sun beating down on you). In addition, the pool with the waterfall is only open on weekends. It wasn't clear to me if this was due to staffing, but regardless, it was pretty disappointing. We didn't gamble, but did see Penn & Teller, which was fantastic. These guys are a must-see when in Vegas, and they have a lot of repeat viewing potential, since their show is constantly evolving due to introducing new tricks. There's no longer a buffet; in its place, there's a pretty good food court (the Canteen Food Hall), where we got some decent sushi. Unfortunately, there was only one place we could find that had late-night food (the Sports Deli), which had surprisingly good pizza. Location is off the Strip, and it's pretty far to walk (especially in the searing heat), so plan on driving or taking Uber or a cab if you want to explore.

Yelp
Absolutely awful! Booked a newly remodeled king room and was really looking forward to the changes a remodeled room would have. To my surprise nothing is remodeled in these rooms. Maybe they think by repairing their worn out furniture that would be considered a remodel. Also was told rooms are smoke free but the room smelled awful. Check In Checked in at 6:30pm Long wait to check in and very unorganized. Was assured during check in that the room was beautifully remodeled and that room service is available. Neither statement from the front desk was accurate. Perhaps the staff are trained to withhold the facts. 10th Floor Hallways wallpaper falling off, peeling away Room 1016 Bathroom fixtures and cabinets all original. Painted cabinets scratched and dirty Room dirty and smell old, stale a smokey. Sheet/comforter stained Very rough sheets Air conditioning didn't cool room very well and it's only in 80s outside so it's not a typical "hot" day in Las Vegas Room Service No menus online - must access app from TV No room service available other than breakfast time or served to the pool for very limited hours. So disappointed that you can't enjoy an evening in your room and order room service. If you want to see the menu to plan for the next day you can't because they are blocked. Luckley Tavern and Grill Restaurant Tried this place for dinner. Got seated right away. Order was taken for cocktails within 5-10 minutes. It took over 30 minutes to get the drink brought to the table. The waitress seemed overwhelmed and spent a enormous amount of time at the computer pressing buttons and looking at the screen. Orderes 2 orders of sliders, one salad, a side of onion rings and one cocktail. The sliders were raw, the salad was small but good. The bill was $98 before tip. I'd say that was way overpriced for the quality and service. Casino Floor A huge portion of the casino floor was empty. No slot machines and many places and no tables. It's hard to understand why a large hotel would not have ample slots. The area near the check in desk did have lots of slots and tables but it was so odd to see 30-40% of the casino floor bare. Check Out Could not check out from the room. Went through all of the steps to check out on the tv and then a message popped up that it was unavailable to check out. Proceeded downstairs and there are several kiosks to check out They didn't work either. After punching in all the information to check out and then to get a message that system not available for checkout is so frustrating. Finally stood in line at the front desk to check out for 20 minutes. They only had two people working at 10am. The woman was very rude and annoyed that she needed to help guests. She would not accept cash from me to pay the bill and said credit card only. I would not recommend anyone going to this hotel even if you get a free room. It is not a good time. There are so many better options in Vegas so don't waste your time or money.

Yelp
The Rio Hotel and Casino is now privately owned (no longer Caesars') and they are in the process of a remodel. We had an opportunity to stay in a remodeled room in the Ipanema tower and was happy with the room. Nice view of the strip and pool area. There are 4 pools including a rock waterfall pool with some water chairs so you can lounge up to a foot in the water and an over 21 pool with a couple Jacuzzi's. The room had all the amenities necessary, nice couch with a chase, huge TV, refrigerator, freezer, dual sink, comfortable bed and when it's 110+ in Vegas, a nice cool A/C. Front desk and other employees were all pleasant and generally happy. The revised food court is great with better food options including burgers, burritos, chicken, Philly cheesesteaks, sushi and more. They were working on constructing a new center bar at the main entrance and the table games area is also under construction.

Yelp
Check in was very busy & some staff members were friendlier than others but customer service oriented. The line was long & and employee handed out small water bottles which hit the spot! (118 degrees that day) I stayed here twice so have pics of both rooms. Unfortunately there's no microwave in either but the room in the Ipanema. Tower had a refrigerator. Food- Uncle Tony's place was ok (food court ; meat on the dry side; didn't have banana peppers & cherry peppers were hot! Chinese restaurant in the food court. Plates come family style so we ordered a few things & shared. Shrimp Fried rice - extra shrimp & extra onion (Ive never seen so pale but it was delicious), Mongolian beef & Honey walnut shrimp. Smash Burgers on 2nd floor of Masquerade tower was very good. Adrianna was very nice & funny. Burgers were good but sweet potato fries were bland. An employee told me the Indian & Korean restaurants were good but didn't try. Fitness center VERY small for the size of the hotel. Older equipment and a couple of cardio machines were out of order. Pool closes at 6pm!!!! Not quite sure why the "resort fee" is so high! This amenity is only available 9-6pm. I was so ready to enjoy it once the sun started to go down but nope, its not the same hours as the fitness center (it closes at 9pm). I had to call down to the desk for an odor I noticed after my room was cleaned. (Cleaning person threw away my disposable toothbrush too ). The person who answered was demanding I tell her specifically what I was calling about after I asked for the front desk in regards to the room. She was extremely rude when I mentioned that the other times I called, I was transferred, why did she need all the details. She retorted, "Maam call back when you can give me a reason for your call." then hung up. I immediately went down to report both things & spoke to the manager Troy (I believe) who was apologetic & would contact the call center manager.

Yelp
I stayed 3 nights mid-July 2024 as a Hyatt Gloablist based on their new partnership. I got a renovated room which was nice and clean, as was the hallway to the room. The rest of the hotel/casino has a lot of work to do. While I would stay here again in the future, I'll wait until remodel is complete. Below are pros and cons. Pros: - Newly remodeled room is clean and spacious - Rooms are quiet. No street noise. - Friendly hotel staff - Easy in and out to casino, hotel and ride share - Walgreens and liquor store across street Cons: - AC issue with first room - Slow service at Hash House (45 min to get omelet) - Poor signage to certain areas (VIP is hidden to the right upon entry) - Slots seem pretty tight - Separate rewards program for sports bets - Hodgepodge remodel ongoing - Questionable clientele abound - Despite signage saying not allowed, weed smoke freely in valet and ride share area and in rooms

Yelp
The new owners at Rio Hotel and Casino and making a splash with the money they pumped in to renovate and bring life to what was previously a ghost town. With trash bins in random spots throughout the casino floor and out of order signs on entrances, it leaves room for improvement. One thing that deserves to be mentioned is the excellent customer service from all the staff I interacted with. From security, baristas at Starbucks and even lifeguards at the pool. All were welcoming and accommodating. The room I stayed in was fresh. The shower was super clean and up to date with beautiful hardware. The beds were clean and free from bed bugs and the paint was spotless. The layout was perfect. With the giant flat screen TV and large sofabed, it couldn't be more efficient. Definitely more functional than the previous setup with dated tv stands and oversized desks that I personally never used. The pool was beautiful too! With bright furniture and umbrellas. Clean towels and a well maintained area, it felt safe and comfortable. Tons of lounge chairs and cabanas available. I enjoyed my time here and it left me wanting to come back sooner than later. A huge turnaround from when I last stayed. Good luck Rio! Appreciate the hospitality. Be back soon.

Yelp
I love this room. It has a fantastic living area with a new, comfy sofa bed couch. Big tv, cable went out briefly. No big deal. Got a great rate....*free*.... About to go downstairs and use my $25 food credit. Some pros: nice renovated room. I love the spaciousness. The room is the best part of the hotel. Some cons: not any economical food choices or late night restaurant. Pricy food hall This is still a work in progress. There does need to be some minor tweaks. Someone needs to go around and do some quality checks : elevator button light out, some weather strip coming down from window, entrance closest to parking closed, no posted hours for Guy Fieri's place so didn't know when it was open. Drinks pricy. But love the room and friendly staff. Will definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Just got back from a weekend trip. I was a sent a free offer. Room is great. Clean, really big and AC was working properly. The shower pressure however was terrible. We had to checkout early and wasn't able to do it on the tv. It said it's only between 4am and 11am. I've been trying to get someone on the phone for the past hour and a half and no one answers. My call was finally answered by Honey Lynn who was most helpful and efficient. She checked me out right away. So aside from the staffing issue, everything was great. I've stayed at the Rio plenty of times before and always loved it. I also won $724

Yelp
First time staying at this hotel and I must say it's just okay. We chose a king room with a strip view. The room was a bit outdated. The bed was very comfortable. The curtains in the room looked a little old. The painting job between the ceiling and the wall was not done properly. The bathroom made me feel like an old apartment. Shower head was disgusting and really needed to be cleaned. I didn't see it until after I took a shower. If I had seen it before, I would have asked the housecleaning people to clean it for me. The water pressure of the shower head was very high though which I loved. Staff here were very nice and friendly. You can pretty much find everything you need at this hotel. It's like a 5-10 mins drive (or around 25 mins walk) to a Strip depending on where you are trying to go. So I would not say it's the most convenient location if you like hanging out in the Strip. The plus about this hotel is there was no parking fee! But it's a pain to find parking. Both times we went out and came back, it took us a while to find parking. Overall it's an okay experience. Will I stay at this hotel in the future? Probably not. But it's definitely a comfortable stay if you are looking for an affordable place a bit off from the Strip but not too far from it with a free parking.

Yelp
The Rio all suites hotel located on Flamingo Road west of I-15. The Rio hotel, a once bustling, vibrant hotel in the late 90's and early 2000's, sadly had become a tired, old, unkept and seemingly forgotten superstar. Staycation. This is the purpose of my visit here, a room comped for two nights, and as a local, hey why not come and see what is going on at the Rio. Last I was here, circa 2016 for a fantasy football draft held in my room at the time. The Rio didn't seem so bad back then, and it was busy enough for a Saturday that's for sure. So anyway, this visit, as I stated, free two night stay. They're under renovation at the moment. Not a lot of gaming or tables, most bars are closed. The food court is open as is Luckely restaurant. Guys place was closed today, Monday, even though their website says they are open. Voodoo lounge is also closed. The pool area has been redone, somewhat. Looks like a new pool deck and some freshening up of the waterfalls and faux rock waterfalls. Pool area was clean and well kept. The pool water was chilly, very chilly. The hot tubs, while open, were not hot at all. My wife is hotter than the hot tub water temp. But, she'd be hotter regardless. Cool hot tubs, chilly pools currently. They are revamping the casino area with new carpets etc, this currently affects the table games as well. Not a lot to do here at the moment and it seems almost ghost town esque with the exception of the pool area. We left the pool and went to clean up at the room, while we were in the room, someone stuck a Flamingo food flyer through our door for takeout and delivery. That's sketchy! So anyone can gain access to guest room floors???? That isn't a great safe feeling at all. Late night they post a security officer by the elevators to check keys and have you scan them, but that's probably something that should be implemented all day since crime can occur at all hours. We enjoyed the pool both days of our stay, this was the high point really. The casino floor is barren, as if Caesar's took all their table games away when they left. I did ply some craps one night and did fairly well, so that wasn't bad. The Rio certainly has some issues and they have a long way to go to be considered a place to stay in vegas again. I'd love to know what their plan is, because to be honest, I can't envision it at the current time. Guy Fieri's taco place was closed both days, although their website says they're open everyday. Hash house a go go was open in the morning, however they weren't packing them in by any means. And they used to be packed from my recent memory. The food court is open, and it seems nice however it's also deserted. I really hope they can pull it together and make The Rio a great place again. I do however have my doubts based on this stay. While I appreciate the comp for two nights, it was basically just a pool and bed to sleep on. We spent the rest of our time eating at the Palms and gambling there since they are bustling and have table games and a full casino and places to eat. Good Luck Rio, I'm certainly hoping for the best from this once magnificent hotel.

Yelp
Review for the Rio Las Vegas Team 5 Huge Stars to the mentioned individuals here! I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Rio Las Vegas, and I must commend several outstanding team members who made my experience truly exceptional. Firstly, Linton in the reservations department deserves the highest praise for his professionalism and unwavering word of honor, qualities that are sadly lacking in many customer service industries today. Linton went above and beyond to ensure my reservations were handled flawlessly. His integrity and dedication were evident throughout our interactions. Despite my attempts to tip him in gratitude, he graciously refused, underscoring his commitment to genuine service. Thank you, Linton, for your exemplary service! Larry the Bell Hop, with over 34 years of dedication to the Rio, was another standout. After a grueling 2,000-mile drive from Florida, Larry's assistance was a godsend. He went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and ease, demonstrating exceptional dedication and kindness. Larry, your years of service shine through in every interaction, and we are profoundly grateful for your help. Our stay was further enhanced by Gino in maintenance, who was incredibly accommodating and kind. Not only did he assist in getting our TV up and running, but he also helped us set up a new television for our gaming console. Gino's willingness to go the extra mile and his friendly demeanor made a significant difference in our stay. Thank you, Gino, for your exceptional support! Delia from the Canteen was another wonderful individual we had the pleasure of meeting. She was gracious and informative, making our experience at the Canteen delightful. Delia, thank you for your kindness and for making us feel welcome. Des, the young Filipino gentleman who prepared my ramen noodles, deserves a special mention. His pride in his work was evident, and the ramen was absolutely delicious. Thank you, Des, for your dedication to quality and for making such a memorable meal. Lastly, I would like to thank the front desk manager, whose name escapes me but who I mistakenly thought was Filipino. Despite a hectic environment, he made time to address a unique issue with our television, showing remarkable patience and effort. Although the issue wasn't resolved, his attempt and the calm professionalism he displayed were truly commendable. It's clear why he holds a managerial position, and I am very grateful for his assistance. To the entire team at Rio Las Vegas, thank you for making our stay so memorable and enjoyable. Your dedication to excellent service does not go unnoticed, and we deeply appreciate each one of you.

Yelp
We wanted to share our experience regarding the incredible hospitality we received from Belle G. during our stay here at Rio. My husband & I were so impressed by the remodel that was done to the hotel, and loved the new food options at the restaurants. We had an opportunity to stay at one of the newly remodeled suites. Belle G. helped service our rooms, always had the brightest smile, and went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I had a wonderful experience staying at the Rio. The room was clean & spotless. She was very attentive to our requests & made our stay spectacular! Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
What in the fraud is going on there???? Please beware!!! Went a couple of weekends ago for the weekend with my family and best friend. I have stayed there before and enjoyed it, besides the walk from were you park. I used my CC card for the deposit. Although, I turned it off right after because I had already found it weird that they couldn't explain some random huge fee that they were trying to charge the person who originally booked it off of their free comps. Fast forward a could of weeks later I call my bank into regards for something else... only to find out the Rio tried charging my card 5 different times with all random charges. $50 $252 $76 $493, and another $211. On the plus side the remodeled rooms are really nice and comfortable. There is ongoing tarps and construction everywhere. Pools were ok. The hotel shades a few of them, making them pretty cold. Even in 112° weather.

Yelp
The only thing nice at this resort is the room & free parking. Check in took us over 45 minutes, even though we checked in online. Their automated machines were out of order & would not print our room key. So we had to wait in line to get our key. The smoke in the casino is stifling. It's ridiculous to have restaurants that are open aired to the casino floor. Therefore the Luckley Tavern & Grill was a pass. Pool area was nice. However one pools was not heated & very cold. We tried to order drinks & food. However, we could not get any servers to stop by our chairs.

Yelp
So, this was my first time staying at this resort this last weekend. I had a primarily good experience, almost five stars. The fifth star was withheld because the water pressure in the shower was pathetically weak! It had the most awful low flow device installed. It increased my shower time from 7-10 minutes to 40+ minutes, just struggling to rinse off the soap and get clean. So infuriating! The recently completed renovations of the Ipanema Tower, where I stayed, were fabulous! The suites look great, though I have nothing to compare them to previously. Very spacious, very comfortable, very well decorated and designed units. I stayed on the 18th floor (out of 20). I had a semi view of the northern end of the Strip. I took in a couple shows, "Wow" in the main showroom and comedians at the Comedy Cellar. I had breakfast at Hash House A Go Go each morning. All reviewed separately. They have quite a few other dining options that I didn't get to. I can report that I did enjoy some luck playing video poker. Staff were friendly, warm, and welcoming. Excellent customer service most everywhere I went and everyone I encountered.

Yelp
Five star service from our Bellman Billy. The new remodeled Rio actually is a good improvement in the rooms. The casino and grounds have not been fixed up yet.

Yelp
Nice enough place. I'm told that wasn't a thing for the last few years but I stayed here for three days. I stayed in the renovated tower (Ipanema) and it was pleasant. Large rooms for sure! The renovation indeed looks a bit rushed in spots and they are still actively working on it in areas. Nice food court. Needs more seating though. Good selection. Every worker encountered was pleasant and helpful. I could stay here again!

Yelp
Enjoyed a staycation this past week compliments of the Rio. I love how easy the check in process was for me. I didn't have to stand in line to check as they had the check in kiosks available and super convenient. Prior to arriving to the hotel, I received a text message to start my check in process where I was able to upload a copy of my driver license and credit card for the deposit. Some may not be comfortable doing that, but again I still think it's super convenient. My room was in the Ipanema Tower and I must say they did a wonderful job with the renovation. I remembered a few years back staying in the same tower and the rooms just looked really old and run down. Parking is free including valet (tips are greatly appreciated). There are multiple parking areas depending on which tower you are in. Otherwise just take advantage of valet. If you're looking for food, they do have a few places to eat and a Starbucks. Can't speak much on how good the restaurants are since I didn't dine there, but as for Starbucks... you're paying "strip" prices. Only downside to it was the ice machine on the floor I was in kept getting jammed and the mini fridge in my room didn't really keep things cold. Overall still had an enjoyable time. Thank you Rio for a great time!

Yelp
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Rio Hotel and Casino, and it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for the entire stay. The accommodations at Rio Casino Hotel are nothing short of luxurious. The rooms are spacious, elegantly furnished, and impeccably clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep after a long day of exploring the vibrant city of Las Vegas. One of the highlights of my stay was the casino itself. The variety of games and the lively atmosphere made for an unforgettable gaming experience. Whether you're a seasoned gambler or just looking to have some fun, the Rio Casino offers something for everyone. The amenities at Rio Casino Hotel are top-notch. The pool area is a tropical oasis, perfect for unwinding and soaking up the sun. The spa offers a range of rejuvenating treatments, allowing guests to pamper themselves and relax in style. What truly sets the Rio Hotel apart is its exceptional service. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was nothing short of perfect. From the concierge to the housekeeping staff, everyone made me feel welcome and valued as a guest.

Yelp
I love this hotel, they have three separate pools and the best freaking DJ. You'll be out there jamming. They have a bar by the pool, and lots of pool chairs. Of course there's a casino, it doesn't seem that big but there's a whole other side where there's shops and table games and tons and tons of slot machines. The rooms are amazing they are huge, huge bathroom, huge room. I had double beds and probably the greatest View in the whole hotel it looked out right into the city. The front desk staff was amazing especially dealing with what they were dealing with. They were thousands of customers while I was there, lines were pretty long. They handled everything with such Grace and patience. One weird thing did happen while we were there the Lights Went Out. That was weird people got stuck on the elevator. They have a food court, and a couple of different restaurants. For me I didn't find any of those places to be really good. But I did only try the food court. Again there's tons of restaurants on the other side of the casino

Yelp
First impressions were, they're still doing renovations and it stinks and it's torn up and super gross and dirty. Then we went to check in only to be told the room we were guaranteed was renovated is not renovated, and the only way to get a renovated room is to pay more for a smaller lesser room. I will never know what the rooms at the Rio look like as I will never come back here as it's disgusting and felt like bait and switch. Not a happy customer.

Yelp
We saw a great Penn & Teller show, but when I was over NONE of their restaurants were open !! Just about everyone from the show was leaving. Very disappointing!

Yelp
Disclaimer that my family got a free comp room since they gamble a lot; but I found the updated accommodations pretty good for an off strip hotel and casino. I also haven't experienced the Rio pre-renovations, but the updated rooms are really nice! R O O M // R E V I E W P R O S: - The suite was HUGE! 2 queen beds, with a pull out sofa, and still enough room to feel spacious in. - The sofa was HUGE already, but to imagine that it also pulls out to another bed (we didn't), would make this a great room for bigger parties. - Beds were soft and comfortable to sleep in. - Updated room decor with more soft color tones. My sister said that the old Rio was a bit gaudy with tons of bright colors, so I'm glad they changed it to more neutral tones in the room. - Huge pool although I didn't stay outside because it was 115 degrees during my visit. CONS: - No microwave in room. - Tiny refrigerator. For such a huge room, they could have had a bigger refrigerator to store any leftover food and chill drinks. The fridge they have is mainly for the in-room drinks they want to charge you and then a tiny section for personal refrigeration needs. - Bathroom layout is a bit weird, but very spacious. - Water pressure could be stronger in the shower. C A S I N O // R E V I E W - The casino is in process of being updated still, so when I went there were some areas that were closed off for construction. - The floor has a strong cigarette smell throughout the casino, I hope they update this and remove the cigarette smell. - My family tried the dim sum restaurant here, and they said it was pretty good. They also have a food court, but no major brands that was worthwhile from what I remember. I saw the menu for the korean bbq place and thought it was pretty expensive, $50, whereas you can go off strip restaurants for way cheaper. - Starbucks inside is SUPER inflated and expensive. $8 for a brown sugar latte. Not even in LA does coffee go for that much. - The rio is off strip, so there isn't really anything worth walking around and seeing in this part, but you can hop over to Caesars if you're willing to walk or uber across the freeway.

Yelp
Been home exactly a week since my five day stay at the Rio in Las Vegas. It has taken this long for steaming anger to subside into just bitter disappointment. Do you know what it's like to stay in a room for four nights with no working toilet? They kept coming to fix it but it never got fixed. On our last night they finally replaced the inside working guts of the toilet, and it finally worked. Couple this aggravation with two people with serious digestive disorders, one with Crohn's disease, the other with a partial colectomy, and the lack of a working toilet in your room becomes a critical issue. We also were in the very last room down a mile long hallway. So a mad dash downstairs to the casino floor restrooms just wasn't happening. This of course led to not one but two embarrassing accidents. Wouldn't this make you steamy mad too? Forget about talking to a manager to get a sympathetic ear and some sort of comp for the inconvenience. No one can call a manager. You have to stand in the no less than 45 minute wait understaffed hotel check in line. The only sympathetic ear you will get is from the friendly bartenders at the only open bar in the entire casino. Housekeeping was a joke. First day we had only two bath towels in our room. Housekeeping was still in the hallway, so I asked if we could get some hand towels and wash cloths. The reply was a curt "Sorry, No." The next day our beds were made up and two hand towels were left, but no fresh bath towels. Third day no fresh towels at all. Fourth day, no towels at all, so the honey had to call forvtowels. This time there were bath, hand, and abracaba, finally some wash cloths. This was a remodeled room. Decent nothing spectacular, but weird layout, as you couldn't see the wall mounted tv from the bed or the couch, so we just listened to the tv. Whatever you do, do not under any circumstances book any room on any floor that ends in the 50's. We had the very last room, 456, at the end of what seemed like a never ending hallway. It felt like being in a Stephen King movie looking down that daunting expanse! This whole experience could have gone in a totally different direction if at any point there was contact made with or by someone from customer service, but apparently that department just doesn't exist here. I have such a bad taste in my mouth over the hotel experience that there is just no way I would stay here again. No need to anyway. Palms sent me a free stay offer with an assigned casino host, even though I dropped more money at the RIO. How bout them apples?

Yelp
Not sure why other people had checkin issues. Arrived on a Saturday night and checked in very quickly. Can confirm parking garage is dirty and grimey. We had a renovated room and the friendly front desk upgraded us to a suite. I would make sure you book a renovated room. Our room was spacious, gorgeous and clean. Rio is listed in a lot of places as kid friendly.. I'd say maybe teen friendly. It's not anti kid but yo kids are gonna see things on a walk through the building that they don't see on Nikelodeon.

Yelp
Ok. So the Rio has been getting a bad rap for a bit. Even I have made a few jabs at them. BUT!!! They are coming back strong and it's looking real good!!! This Five Star review is because I am IMPRESSED!!! They are working really hard to bring life back into the Rio and they are doing a great job!!!! Stayed in the refurbished rooms and they were OUTSTANDING!!! The casino is in rebuild mode so don't expect too many tables. That was a bummer. But the pool area and the restaurants are all top notch. Ate at 4 of the restaurants, Hash House 2 stars, Sports Bar 3 stars, Kang's Korean BBQ 5 stars and Dim Sum 4 stars!!! Front desk folk were outstanding and very helpful!!! Hotel is clean and up and coming! I really enjoyed my stay and would be willing to stay here again!!!

Yelp
This was our first time going to Rio. From our hotel view at Aria, this hotel exterior look modern therefore we decided to go and check it out. The only plus I saw was that they offer free parking. As we walked inside, we noticed this place is so outdated. We were told that Rio was sold to Caesar casino in the past and resold to their current owner Rio sometimes this past fall. There is still a lot of updating that needs to be done. There were not a lot of people here. There is putt putt here if you are interested. Otherwise it just too outdated to me. Maybe it will be better after renovations.

Yelp
I recently stayed at the Rio Hotel for our annual Flight Sim Expo, and while there were some positives, I would only recommend this location as a budget-friendly option. The highlight of my stay was the beautifully renovated King Bed Suite in the Ipanema tower. The suite had an amazing panoramic view of the Strip, a large living room with a huge table that could seat six or more people comfortably, a huge jacuzzi tub, walk-in shower, and two bathrooms. To beat the Vegas heat, all the windows had blinds that could be controlled with an automatic wall switch. I paid around $700 for a three-night stay, and while the room's amenities were nice, there were several issues that detracted from the overall experience. One of the best aspects was having the convention center hosting our event right downstairs from our rooms. It was convenient to have the Flight Sim Expo on-site, making it easy to attend sessions and network without needing to travel far. However, Ubers drop you off right at the front door, but leaving the resort requires going to a dedicated Uber area on the side of the building. This means leaving the air conditioning and standing in the sun, which can be brutal even when standing under the covered Uber area. The room service options were disappointing, with the food being quite bland. I tried several items from each category, but none stood out. The Canteen food court was just okay. Honestly, I'd recommend ordering in from UberEats for small meals and going offsite for any real dinner. The pool area was beautiful, but the resort charges hundreds for a cabana, which seems excessive given the low guest demand. The convenience store on-site is convenient but has brutal prices, with $7 for a bottle of water being particularly outrageous. While my stay at the Rio Hotel was comfortable, and the convenience of having the expo on-site was fantastic, there are several drawbacks that make it clear this is a budget option. If you're looking for luxury and top-tier amenities, you might want to look elsewhere. However, if you need a convenient and budget-friendly place to stay for an event, the renovated suites in the Ipanema tower offer good value for the price.

Yelp
I was drawn in by an $8 a night promo...sent to my email because I had stayed the a year or so ago. Saw Penn & Teller. So like I said a promo offer that I made my reservation expecting At checkin it had changed to $18 then there were resort fees of $59 and $100 deposit that was supposed to be refunded. This was about a month ago and there's been no refund. The hotel was under construction and there was only one place to eat. Our server was fantastic, the room was nice but the long line and wait at checkin was insane. We stood there for about 45 minutes with only 2 people working the desk. For the price I could have been on the strip. They're a long way from full open. My fault for falling for the BS.

Yelp
I've stayed at the Rio before and after recent renovations. This review mainly pertains to the newly renovated space, which is beautiful, modern, and clean. My group of five shared a deluxe room and fit comfortably. Especially when considering the price, the Rio is affordable in comparison to other hotels in the area. However, the Rio still needs to improve logistically and renovate other areas. For example, my group stayed during EDC weekend -- this is a huge event for the hospitality industry in LV. Still, check-in lines and self check-in lines were extremely long throughout the entire weekend. Many of the elevators stopped working because patrons were overfilling the elevators, but the Rio refused to open up the stairs. This was extremely frustrating for us, as we stayed on the third floor, but had to wait over 30 minutes to get up or down the elevator; there was a very long line every day spilling outside of the elevator area. Not having an accessible exit also seems like a fire hazard. As for other common areas, a new food hall has recently opened, along with some sit down restaurants like dim sum. There were ongoing renovations of some of the common areas, so it smelled of paint. Generally, you can tell that the Rio is outdated, s oh o these renovations are much needed. The Rio is also slightly off strip. I personally prefer this because there is free parking and traffic is lighter. The Rio is closer to Chinatown, which has some of the best food in LV. I highly recommend renting a car if you're staying here.

Yelp
If you're a rewards member; they had a promotion for their newly remodeled suites. Promotion consisted of 5 complimentary nights. What they don't inform you, is at check out you are charged with a complimentary fee of 99$ per night. Which is the same price you could get the room from a website like Hotwire, or kayak, ect. So really, it's not much of a "complimentary stay". The remodels are okay, you can still tell the hotel and casino are outdated. Prices are too high for how outdated it is. Their staff seems overworked with no motivation to work. They also have half of their elevators closed off. This means the time wait for using the elevator is around 5-10 minutes. Valet is outstanding though. If I could give 5/5 stars only to valet, I would. They were all kind, friendly, and quick. All in all, I don't see myself staying here in the future.

Connie B.

Yelp
We checked in around midnight. The check in line was very long but they have self check in which is the way to go. They offered 2 pm check out for $19. It's not available for that price after you check in which I learned. It was double the price after. The pools no longer have an adult only pool. The pool area was packed cause it was almost 100 degrees. They closed the pool at 5 pm on a Saturday and Sunday which was a huge disappointment. If you want a chair with a cushion and umbrella close to the pool it was $25 a chair. Once you check out of your room you can not enter the pool area. They scan your room key. Security checked our bags looking for glass bottles. So if you have a late flight out enter the pool area prior to the checkout time. We stayed in the older rooms. The room was large but dated. Our shower had no water pressure which made it difficult to wash your hair. Over all for the price of the room it was fine. No coffee makers but a small refrigerator was in the room. Starbucks is in the hotel. Saturday morning the line was at least 20 mins. Long.

Yelp
I absolutely love the Rio in Las Vegas. The recent renovations have made the Rio Hotel incredibly comfortable and sleek, plus they offer free parking, which is a nice bonus. The pools are fantastic, but what really stands out to me is the gym--it stays open until 9 PM, unlike most gyms in Las Vegas that close at 6 PM. The wireless internet is lightning-fast, which made it easy for me to conduct Zoom meetings without a hitch. The spacious rooms, complete with mini-fridges, HBO, and other premium channels, are a major plus, and the housekeeping staff is top-notch. If you're a World of Hyatt member, you'll appreciate earning points and credit for your stay. Be sure to try all the restaurants on-site--I didn't even leave the hotel for three days because everything I needed for my conference, including my favorite Las Vegas eateries, was right there on the property. This is a fabulously renovated hotel that's a must-visit when coming to Vegas.

Yelp
There is no reason you shouldn't stay here. The price was perfect, room was amazing and had the same amenities as the big names on the strip. The food area was similar to the one in the Cosmo but without the mark up. I also had an issue due to being stuck because of a cancelled flight. Flora (front desk) assisted me, contacted management and gave me the best rate they could. You will see negative reviews about the elevators, it's really not bad at all. I will come back anytime for the Rio!

Yelp
This place really lack on customer service! They have phone in the room, but when you try to reach the house keeping or front desk. Nobody answers? They also need to educate and train the staff to answer the calls with professionalism. Some young African American lady at the front desk needs to communicate better with customers! Horrible! I will never come to this place again! It's not even that cheap with $59 a day+ $41 tax a day + $56.69 a day resort fee.... Do your math..
