The Mix Drinks were watered down and expensive for a kiddie plastic cup drink. The bathrooms were nasty floors were wet. The wait for a drink took forever. And overall it's Not enough space for a large group of people to be able to dance n have a decent time in.

Amazing place music and sound was awesome the vibes were awesome and no wait time on drinks even when its packed. Highly recommend if you like to party! Only slight complaint is drinks are a bit pricy

My daughter dropped her phone there and she knows where she dropped it, between the chair and wall. The guy who was working there said she has to come back the next day, my husband went with her to retrieve her phone and they did not let him get it out, which it only had 4 screws. She has class and cannot do it due to all her info is on her phone. Bad business!

My daughter was there last night and 2 girls jumped my daughter breaking a liquor bottle over her head. Now where was security at why was this not prevented. The fight these 2 girls caused lasted awhile. Where was someone to help my daughter. NOWHERE!! They could have killed my daughter. She has 5 staples in her head....

This place is ratchet! Definitely gone down. You'll find grenades, and more than likely a field of landmines! 😵 The 3rd floor is grabazio. When I walked through there, I was like that Two-Chains interview, when he said, What! Hell-Naw... man look... Hell naw!💀

I drove three hours from Dallas to visit Voodoo Room with a section already reserved. It took about an hour for them to bring out the bottle, and when they finally did, it came with no juice, no cups, and no ice which took another 30 minutes to arrive. On top of that, the section wasn’t even secured, and random people kept walking in. Overall, it was a really disappointing experience.but Mario said the bottle girl “was bad “

Fun bar, have been to a lot of shows here and the sound system is nice! Great visual design!

1/25/25 I was bar hopping with a group of friends. I decided to get two cocktails and it totaled $60. I knew something wasn’t right. Bartender couldn’t find itemized receipt for 10 minutes. When she finally found it there were multiple items on the receipt I did not order. They tried scamming me and rude manager refunded in cash and didn’t even apologize. DO BETTER BE HONEST!

Workers sit outside of women's restroom demanding $$ if you're a woman that doesn't pay the restroom fee, you'll be handled without consent, assaulted by drunk employees, and forced out of the building. This location has multiple instances where a drunk male employee physically assaults a female customer over a bathroom fee$$. They never try to charge any men, ONLY WOMEN. APD needs to be more involved, Saw it in person over the weekend, it's a common trend at this location, and APD should increase their presence outside of this building since they are often called for such disputes at the voodoo room anyways. This location is bad for the Austin community.

The 1st charge was originally $12 for just 1 drink, the 2nd was $26 for 2. Mind u this price ALREADY INCLUDED mandatory 20% tip. Which i already thought seemed excessive on small drinks. Had i not checked my transactions i wouldn't even notice they went ahead and ADDED additional tip. Never buying drinks here again with my card or at all for that matter! If you have used your card here in the last month or so i would recommend you check them.

It was an okay place nothing fancy or over the top just seemed like a good place to dance and chill. One good thing about the night I went was that they played good Latino music so props to that DJ. Give this place a stop and have fun!

I wish i could give this bar negative 5 stars, they not only took out their own gratitude on over priced drinks but they had the audacity to tell me they have a sign that says the gratitude automatic charged. At no moment did they let me know before that they do this or showed me the sign upon arrival and order at the bar. This bar is lame and not recommended i would go to another bar. Let me save you from being over charged and taken advantage since i was already kinda tipsy and i'm not gonna pay attention to the smallest sign to inform myself of this robbery.

Had bartender yell at us. Friends and I were standing at the bar where we had been for about 2 hours. We had been consuming quite a bit at this establishment, and for a bartender to turn around and snort something up her nose, proceed to yell at my friends and I in jibberish, was just a terrible experience. We left as soon as this occurred, and had a great time elsewhere. Also quite a bit of minors here, which no bar should allow. A very limited drink menu to about only 4 beers to choose from.

I got changed $15.50 for a redbull vodka and on top of that they added a 20% gratuity of their own, making my ONE drink cost $18.50. For god sake, this bar is on dirty...the "cheap" drinking street and they're basically charging vegas prices for itty bitty drinks. Save yourself the time and head over to west 6th. Also on my way out I slipped in something and the man that helped me up said he had been telling them to mop it up for awhile...the bar wasn't crowded, they could've taken the time to clean it up due to it being right at the top of the stairs.

This bar is my family, I am the resident go-go dancer and manager of the dancers that work there and voodoo has always been so loyal and respectful to us. Don't let the bad reviews fool you this bar definitely has a very diverse crowd but that's because the music changes on certain days. It's on sixth street for Christ sake's, there's always going to be that one night that someone didn't enjoy. What I can say, is everyone that works there has been there for years and is passionate about what they do. On Thursday nights they have Latin night and so many people come out to dance to salsa, Reggaeton, bachata, etc. On Fridays three have hip pop and some EDM. And on Saturdays we have hip pop, EDM, and popular top 40 music. At night this bar isn't for the people who want to sit down and drink it's for the people that love dancing and having a good night! But before the DJs go on we have live music from small bands or solo guitarists. Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday you can also see the dancers put on a little show with the swings that hang above the bar around 12:30-1 am. Every dancer including myself is very passionate about putting on a show and engaging with the crowd! One of the things that this bar is known for is Blackout, which happens every Saturday around 12:30 am. The bar turns off the lights, dancers pass out batons that light up, there's confetti cannons and CO2 cannons, and the beautiful dancers are on the swings putting on an amazing show for you guys!

Yet another stop on Friday night. Wife wanted some Country music ... not sure why we (she) decided the Voodoo Room would have Country .. we just left a place that had a Country band. It was still relatively early in the evening, a small crowd here as the single guitar/vocalist near the front. Not country, that's ok. Again, headed to the far end of the bar. Nothing great or not-so-great to report. Service was good. Not a lot different here than at other spots up and down the street. Except the two swings hanging over the bar. Maybe we should stick around for a bit. More peeps moved in; definitely a younger crowd ... and some eye candy. We grinned and decided we'd stay for at least one more round. Left while we still felt good about ourselves. Overall, decent experience. No complaints.

My friend came from Dallas to celebrate in Austin for the weekend. We were getting ready to leave when I noticed my friend arguing with the bartender. Turns out she let him buy one last beer before closing & he gave her a $100 just waiting for his change. She refused to give his change back and told us to leave. We refused to leave until his change was given back. She then said the registers were locked & couldn't give out change such bullsh*t. Finally I argued with a different employee and they gave my friend his change back. She was trying to hustle $100 tip. Becareful drinking here or even wasting money here.

Let's talk about the worst bar in austin. Don't even go in for a beer to watch the girls undress in the windows. It's a useless promotion that drives real females away. It's a hallway filled with smoke and regret. Speakers that shake walkway upstairs. Sounds like a hippo try to eat a ton of carrots. If you can't get in anywhere and need to wet your whistle, go to this shithole. If not, steer clear.

Such a fun time on 6th street! Great customer service from the manager Bobby he made sure our visit was spectacular. If i could give more than 5 stars i would!

I'm trying to write this review with a grain of salt. This is not a bar for me. It's a college bar. For college kids. That I stumbled into one night in Austin. Complaining about it and giving it one star would be like walking into a club and being shocked they're more expensive, or into a dive bar and perplexed as to how dirty it is. So I am going to think hard and write it as a perspective of 19 year old Mitch. My chalked ID totally worked. I don't even think they care. The shot girl was super hot. The shots though were not. They tasted like water. Took awhile to get a drink. After awhile my buddies and I left. Girls stayed with the guys they knew. Got a little tipsy though. End of 19 year old Mitch's perspective. So while I'd give it one, 19 year old Mitch is gonna give it three. We agree on two.

Dirty 6th...I came back recently for a bachelor party and we had to just experience everything from the east side to dirty 6th and finishing off over at west 6th. This is one of the newer additions to the mix. This place is dark and pretty crowded. The only thing that I can remember from the place was they had decent eye candy in the form of go-go dancers.

I don't have high expectations for any bar on Dirty Sixth. However, this bar is the worst. My friend put his phone right next to me on a banquette before going to the bathroom, and a random guy came up, sat next to me briefly, snatched the phone, and walked off! Did you really think I wouldn't notice that? When we asked the bartenders for help, they tried distracting us and then straight up defended the thief. It turns out this guy works there! When we confronted him, he got aggressive before finally giving the phone back. Really? This place is a joke.

I have a lot of appreciation for how clean and neat this place is. The bartenders look sexy yet organized in their work apparel rather than having their own look all over the place. The restrooms were a whole lot cleaner than I had seen for the most part down 6th street. The darkness in the bar definitely fits their ambiance of mystery and they have TV on, which I thought it was a little odd but did not mind it at all.

Why do I like this place a little better than 3 stars? It isn't crowded, it has some nice group seating, it's not loud, and there five individual bathrooms. When friends and I get together in this area, we've always been able to hear one another speak, get drinks quickly, and have room to sit together comfortably. And sometimes that's exactly I want from a bar. There are some swings hanging up high behind the bar.. does anyone every get up there? That'd be cool. I also liked that they had a bunch of stupid novelty vodkas from the Three Olives brand. I had the "Sweet Tarts" with soda. This genuinely amuses me. When I'm on this stretch of 6th, this and BD Riley's are the spots I suggest.

Loud And the Type of Six Street crowd that keeps People away from ground zero. Was clean.

Went on Sunday night. They were playing latino music which just makes me want to dance! Ordered a round of drinks. A little while later, my husband and friend ordered another drink. After a while, my friend went to order a 3rd drink and the bartender refused to serve her. We paid cash, left decent tips, we were tipsy, but not sloppy by any means, and this girl refused us service. I'm assuming it's because we were the only white people in the place. No one else seemed to mind except for the bartender.

Anthony is the most welcoming bartender!!! He makes the best drinks and is so quick and nice!!

WHOA, GUYS. There is definitely a huge difference on 6th Street in Austin at night and in the day time. The day time, there aren't many people and people seem a lot calmer. It seems as if they're just hanging out, going to cafes, etc. But at night, there are a lot more colors, louder music, and street performances. The Voodoo Room seemed to be normal when my friends and I walked in for a few drinks before getting started on attacking the streets of Austin. They started off with having just an acoustic guitar player as the entertainer and as the night just started, the acoustic guitar player was gone, and it was just darkness, black lighting, and dancers at the window. I walked past this place again at night, not realizing it was the same place that my friends and I went to earlier. If I didn't know any better, it almost looked like a strip club, and you'd have to shout because the music is so loud that it hurts your ears. They had something interesting that I saw at this bar, it was vapor alcohol. What you do is you inhale the vapor (it comes in a bottle) and you hold it in for three seconds, and exhale through your nose. According to my friend, it tasted like tequila. Did it work? I'm guessing not because he's fairly light weight, and he was just sober the whole night. Would I recommend this place? Eh, sure why not... But it's not the number one bar I would stop by on 6th street, especially since they're competing with the others.

This bar was amazing! The guys working were so much fun and great bar tenders. I may have drank a little too much and they were very patient with me. I will definitely go back to this bar next time we visit from Canada Thanks for the Great Memories!

I was pleasantly surprised by this place! I don't know what it's usually like, but we went here on a night where 6th street was incredibly crowded and had no trouble finding seating for everyone in our party. I enjoyed the atmosphere, too - it worked really well for my group. And my drinks were all good. My date asked the bartender for any flavored novelty vodka and ended up with some horrible candy-flavored thing, but it was hilarious and totally on him for not being more specific. I would totally go back here, maybe we'll even make it a tradition if it's consistently good.

We came in early before the late night rowdy crowd..I mean we were a bunch of mom's just out for a night of fun and we made a stop here because we had an hour and a half wait for our restaurant, so we figured why not grab a drink first and walked in here. The bartender was very friendly and talked with us briefly. The drinks were a good size and price. We ordered 3 drinks (I had a jack and coke) and our total was $16. Not bad, not sure if we will be back considering we were there before 9pm so not sure what the late night crowd is like.

Can never figure out when these guys are open... Went there New Year's Eve and left me card there on accident. Called several times, left messages, even texted the GM Caleb and no answer. Stopped by last Saturday nigh and they weren't even open... I'm pretty pissed and want my card back. My drunk ass' fault for forgetting but still who hasn't forgot their tab befor....

So it's probably my second time on 6th street since moving here 2 years ago and I must say this place made me realize how much staying home is better. So on Saturday June 2nd I decided to go say hi to my sister who I hadn't seen in awhile and she just so happened to be at the voodoo room I went upstairs with my bf, he went to get a drink and me and my sister were talking. My bf came back to tell me he is heading to the restroom and I told my sister I was going to get a drink which my sister was trying to stop me because she knows I don't drink and what do you know....the bartender comes around the bar and tries to fight me for a reason I'm still not sure of and the security guard is pushing me and my sister out of the club. Even though we asked multiple times why they targeted us, we never got a clear answer. I told the bartender that my sister was stopping me from drinking and the bartender didn't even know what to say...from that face she made when I told her what was going on looked as though she knew she made a mistake and caused a whole bunch of drama that was not needed. I then turn around to see my bf in a chockhold all because of the bartender. My bf later told me that that while he was at the bar, he ordered 4 drinks for me, my sister, her bf and him and the bartender spilled one drink on him and STILL tried to make him pay for all 4. He paid for 3 and that's when he went to the restroom to go clean up and when he came back the security stopped pushing me and my sister and went for my bf who the bartender pointed at. What happened to asking ppl what's going on instead of assuming that everyone is drunk or trying to fight them. This place has a bunch of horrible security guards that do not care if they put their hands on females which the body guard pushed me hard and bartenders who seem to drink too much while on shift and start trying to fight ppl. I do not recommend going to this place if you are trying to have a great time.

Cheap drinks here! I'm from Los Angeles, so any drinks I find on 6th street has been pretty cheap. This was one of them. Drinks range from $2-$4, even on Friday nights. Can't beat that!

They charged me for 100 bucks for the vip section for the New Year's Eve and Iwanted to grab something from the car and when I tried to get in again I had to wait in the line for like half and hour. So what was the point for the ticket pre sale. I am so disappointed.

So it's now been over 45 days since voodoo room over charged my card 950 dollars.... Yes 950 dollars. Told me the check was in the mail... I was visiting for sxsw and I am now back in LA. 3 weeks later still no check when they told me they already sent it! Finally today they told me they are ACTUALLY sending the check. Maybe I'll change the review if I get my money and don't have to report them. Never experienced anything like this.

Just stopped in because of the hilarious sign out front : "soup of the day, whiskey". Brent was awesome. Not only were we greeted immediately and well taken care of, but he also filled us in on everything else happening in the area. Excellent advice for us since we only have 24 hours in town for our vacation. Definitely would revisit, thank you voodoo room for starting our vacation out well
