I purchased few items on Christmas Eve. They all of them were spoiled, had been sitting on the shelf forever. I specifically asked the lady please do not give me an old item that’s sitting there. Give me the fresh one that you have just received from another location. I guess they received from another location some of the stuff oh my God it was embarrassing. Wherever I took it. Everything tasted old. I got cookies I could taste the ice taste. I can tell the cookie has been sitting in the freezer. The cakes she gave me I told her again give me the fresh cakes that you have just recently received. She gave me the ones that were so dried outside the surface of the cake individual ones so old so horrible tasting. I went back the next day complaining, and trying to get the money back, she only gave me the money for the cookies but not the rest. I’m going to dispute with my credit card company and I will never buy from there again. On top of it, they insisted that they are fresh. I told them if they are then I want you to eat the cookie yourself and tell me. Which they did not shame on them I am not about the money I will. I would like to receive a quality product if I’m paying for it I’ve been going here for 15 years but lately it’s disappointing horrible.

This was my second time here, looking for a desert after another amazing beef shawarma next door at Furn saj. Pastries were very tempting but unfortunately flavor was below average and disappointing. There will not be a 3rd visit.

Yum Yum, the best Baklava in San Fernando Valley, it’s not too sweet, greasy or… its just prefect. You have to try it. Very friendly staff.

Well if you want everything Middle Eastern and with a touch of Eastern European and cover some sweet to see Avery. I had to try the rum cups and chocolate chip cookies and the chocolate chip cookies are the kind they get really thick it almost tasted like it has a nice flowery texture but it even includes that point where it goes to the back of your throat and you can taste chocolate all over it’s too delicious I had to eat two of them LOL The room cups are incredibly rich which is the case Most often but the chocolate has a very wonderful feeling quality that allows the flavor to stay in your mouth for quite some time it’s almost as if one cookie can last for the same amount as five store-bought cookies from another place in the world The store is exceptionally clean and hand sanitizers included they’re very careful to follow all the Covid regulations in place so your dining experience is very safe let’s go see Bill for take out my next step is to try one of the cakes and some of the more sweeter items… But I have to be careful LOL otherwise I might eat too much..

I love their sweets. 3awwameh is the best. Always fresh and crunchy. I always make a stop there when im in the area.

My friend Ali ha soldered many cakes/desserts fro Vrej Bakery and they are beautiful and phenomenal. He brought me a cake for my birthday this week and it was being delicious. Rich and decadent, moist and savory. They are masters. I have had many of their sweets and each one is amazing.

very bad items i purchase a few pieces of pastry they are all old and taste sooo soooo bad im very shocked Instead of throwing old things in the trash, they sell them to people.

Take it for me a girl who grew in the Middle East. This is the best you’ll ever get to a Middle Eastern Shawarma. The food is served fresh made to order and is simply perfect. One Shawarma can feed two people, just a note. Inside can get a bit hot because the kitchen is connected to the inside dining.

Pretty reasonably priced pastries and cookies. They were about $3.50 each. Our favorites were the Napoleon and Chocolate Sable. Will be back to try others.

For those who love light and airy desserts, this spot has an amazing one. Their Fruit Jelly Cake is probably the best fruit jelly I've ever had in my life. The jelly itself is very light and not too sweet and the fruits in the cake are filled in all the way down to the bottom. With each bite, you taste the freshness and the ripeness of the fruits. The cake is so light that you can't stop eating it. Almost a guilt-free pleasure. Many places try to imitate this fruit jelly cake, but none come close . I highly recommend it. The bakery itself is small but has a nice selection of pastries and the customer service is on point. Will definitely be back for more.

For first time i purchased a small birthday cake from Verj pastry in granada hills yesterday 08/23/25 , and unfortunately, it was not fresh( all four of my guest tasting same) . This was disappointing for such a special occasion, and it also raises concerns about product quality and customer health. I believe freshness is one of the most important standards for any bakery, and I hope management can take this feedback seriously to ensure all items are properly checked before being sold. Customers should be able to trust that the cakes and pastries are fresh, safe, and enjoyable.

Extremely Disappointed - Moldy Cake & Zero Accountability Bought a jello cake for a party and the fruit inside was moldy -- incredibly embarrassing. When I called the store, the staff didn't care, gave me the runaround, and told me to call another location myself for a refund. It's been two days with no call back and no resolution. Terrible customer service and unacceptable quality. I won't be returning.

Baker almost scammed us out of $40 (said price was $70 per piece when it was clearly advertised as $50), then proceeded to curse me and my bloodline and try to put her hands on me because we didn't agree with how they did business. Pastry was also bland. 1/10

Bought trays of baklava and not one had a crunch to it was all soggy and no flavor. So disappointing what happened to this place with quality. All our guests ate on bite and rest the was all thrown away. Keep in mind paid over $150 bucks will not be going back again here.

I am an aficionado of Bird Milk cake and have tried every single version of it available in every bakery and Armenian store in LA. Every. Single. One. Not kidding. Vrej Pastry has the very best one. It tastes like it's made by someone's auntie, with love and care. Everything from the fluffy layers of cake, to the rich chocolate sauce on top, to the perfectly portioned cream layers. My love language is sharing this specific cake with friends and family. It has been my birthday cake for the last few years and will remain so every year. Please never change this recipe. It brings our community so much joy!

Drove 25 mins because I wanna try some new tiramisu. Doing a tiramisu review for the entire LA county. Moist level: 2/5 Frosting: 1/5 (too much frosting ruins the refreshness of a good tiramisu) Coffee component: 3/5 The owner is really nice. Give it a service: 5/5 Overall: 3/5 Lots of parking spot. More of a take out than a dine in kinda ambiance.

For my mother-in-law's birthday, we wanted a small, 6-in cake which this bakery has, so I decided to give it a try. I came on a Sunday morning and spoke with the lady in front who was nice enough to tell me what kind of cake flavors they have available. All of their cakes looked really good, it was difficult to choose but I decided to go with the vanilla cake with hazelnut filling. The cake was delicious! It was moist with the right amount of sweetness. I will definitely come back to try their other cakes!

Really great local bakery with plenty of free parking and lots of delicious selection. Every pastry was fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced. I was so stoked to find Napoleon (my absolute FAVORITE, of which my grandmother is a pro baker) and this one was a close 2nd to grandma's kitchen - BIG kudos to the baker! Also loved the custard on the fruit tart - I get fruit tarts anytime I see them and this one was great. Could use a few raspberries, but that's just me. Also sampled: Opera cake - delicious! Just what you expect. I used to get the opera cake at Lilit's in NoHo but they stopped making it. Guess I have a new go to place! The mikado was pretty good but on the denser side. That's not normally my jam in a pastry but I could totally see my Eastern European fam digging this. Gonna grab them a piece next time I come. As far as the chocolate raspberry swirl, this one was a little dry for me. Perhaps this particular batch was left in the oven a smidgen too long and the next visit will prove more moist. Overall, a huge success! So happy we took a chance on this place. Til next time, Vrej Pastry!

We got up-charged. Prices are hidden and they charge unethical prices. Good pastries though. The Vrej Pastry in Pasadena is much better.

Today is 09/22/2024 2/40pm I always come to this place I had being order my cakes from here so every time all is good here I can't talk bad about the pastry here not even the cake the has have employees that have beautiful costumer service but today I wanted to order a cake and the lady with black hair almost kick us out she got so angry because we wanted to order a cake and told us to call pasadina we didn't know why she was upset she didn't want to give us information so I was like so disappointed we feel bad all we wanted to order a cake and she was mad at us look like we got kick out she was rude we got something .. I guess I will rather go for my cake to the best bakery in Karina's bakery in Glendale they have the best cakes so if this lady didn't want to give us information ok she won't do it there so on this location there is no more cakes they don't take orders no longer .

I love the bakery the woman that work here are incredibly sweet. Everything taste delicious and it's a great price and it's very clean.

OM GOOD NESS! All pastries and and cakes are freshly made and taste amazing, makes you want to come back to buy more, if you have a "sweet tooth" this is the place to get your dessert treat. International pastries and cookies, indulge yourself in sweet goodness, it will change your mood to happy feeling. Absolutely friendly service folks. Very clean and well merchandised store.

This place has gone downhill! I went in today drove 20 miles to get my son some baklava. The shelves were completely empty. I asked for a mixed tray of baklava. I stood there waiting for her for 15 minutes. She finally gets me a try of mixed baklava that is full of the baklava that has no nuts! I've gotten these trays before and they come with at least a couple of rows of baklava stuffed with pistachios or some kind of nuts like cashews or something. She's trying to sell me a mixed baklava with hardly any nuts stuffed inside. I kindly looked at it and said no thanks and walked away. Do yourself a favor and stop buying from this place! Their quality has gone bad!

Vrej sure has come a long way and there have been some huge improvements since our last visit here way back in 2016 when we said we would never return! We were picking up pastries for New Year's and since we live closer to Vrej, we did not want to make the drive in rain and traffic all the way to Glendale. So, let's give them another chance 5 years later. Most of what we ordered were absolutely delicious, minus a few items which I will describe below. The biggest disappointment was being overcharged for some items like maamouls. We ordered 6 total but were charged for 9. Not a huge issue but still makes us more weary for future visits. So speaking of maamoul, we ordered pistachio, date, and walnut. Across the board, the cookie or dough itself was beyond amazing. So buttery, crumbly, yet soft and slightly sweet, they were delicious! The fillings on the other hand were mixed. The walnut was sadly just gross. It seems like they overloaded the sugar and cinnamon while turning the walnuts into a paste like the date maamoul and we hoped for more whole or pieces of walnuts like other bakeries make it. The date however was on point and the pistachio was okay, more pieces of pistachio but still too much of a paste. The baba au rhum was as good as Sarkis Pastry in glendale. A good size bundt plump with rum and syrup, cut open to be filled with a thick and fresh slice of pineapple and sweet, rich custard! I'm glad they did not cheap out and use whipped cream instead. The shaabiye was to die for. Layers of phyllo filled with rich thick ashta and a delicious syrup to pour over the top for added sweetness. Mille Fuille were amazing, flaky puff pastry layered with the rich custard and a light dusting of powdered sugar. The eclair had the same great custard but the pastry was a bit bland and dry. And lastly the item I forgot the name of, I believe bird's nest or something similar (rolled phyllo/kataif with whole pistachios cut into a log shape). I'm not a fan in general but these are my dad's favorites and he loved them. We will happily return to Vrej!

I don't have a sweet tooth but I know a lot of people who do. Every time I need the best napoleons or tiramisu, these ladies knock it out of the park. Just be sure to give them a call to see if they have what you need in the quantities. Each time they are kinder, sweeter and more generous. If I keep coming back I won't have any teeth left in my mouth. I highly recommend this bakery not only for the quality but also the prices. The service is great, the place is small so if you wanna grab a coffee there you can but seating is rather limited. The ambiance is okay but don't expect a super cozy lounge. This is a large strip mall with a Trader Joe's.

This is a good and popular bakery in Granada Hills. They are right next to Chase Bank, and Target across the street off of busy Balboa Blvd. During the holidays, we stopped in here and purchased some cakes, muffins, and other goods I cannot name off hand lol. I like the European short breads here too, They have everything from chocolate , to any flavors you like. Vrej Pastry has real homemade goods like the way your grandmother always made them. Love this place, I stop by everytime I am in town.

The good: My friend gifted a baklava box (in various shapes) to me and my husband and we are hooked! She told me that these were pastries her husband's family always got. These were the best middle eastern sweets I've had! My husband and I finished an entire box in one night. Normally, they are too sweet and I cannot eat many of them but these were so easy to keep eating. They pair well with tea. We both have a sweet tooth so a place like this is dangerous for us. I loved that their baklava weren't sticky sweet. They weren't overly drenched in honey and the dough was perfectly flaky. I liked the rose water flavoring and the use of various types of nuts (walnuts, pistachios). There are middle eastern sweets but also a lot of French and Italian items too like eclairs, tiramisu, mousse cakes and fruit tartes. The bad: Their website doesn't work so you cannot make online orders or requests. The interesting: I saw that they sell honey cake so I will definitely be coming back to try that!

I definitely recommend trying this place, Amazing middle eastern pastries ! Even if you're not from part of the world,, the taste is spectacular, especially the pastries that include pistachio....

Solid variety, they have deserts from different cultures from sweet to mild. I'm sure you'll find something you'll like here.

Have been coming here for years. Bird's milk log cake is a bomb. Mikado is great too. Be forewarned that some of the flat pastries (like Mikado) are expected to be semi-hard, so if you are not familiar with this style they will feel dry/old to you. They are not ;) they were never meant to be soft...

Very rude, the young lady that served me, just after I paid my pastry and cookies she completely ignored my question about another pastry that got my attention, she went on to serve the others client and told me that she will answer my question next time when I come back. Rude! I felt very humiliate. Her behavior said loudly; Your questions was not in the price that you paid Awful experience . . .

This is my problem when I come here, everything looks so freaking good I don't know what to get. I always go here right after I go to Furn Saj, these are 2 spots you have to try. When you go and if you want to try something different try the knafeh, unique Pastry

What a gem. Warning I didn't photograph any of the pastries or remember any of the names per each dessert well besides eclair, but I'll do my best to describe my favorites. This triangle cheese stuffed baklava kunafe hybrid oh my gosh, I can eat 50 of those they're incredible! Tiramisu cake is divine. Vanilla filling eclair is so legit. My husband and I were fighting over it. Loved everything we tried and cannot wait to go back. Friendly helpful staff, plenty of items to choose from, cute European style store, lovely creations! Plenty of parking in the shared parking lot. Couldn't recommend them more!!!

Where should I start. Horrible sweets. This place is terrible. Creme Brulee means torched. The top sugar was soft and liquid. The cream puff had lite cream. The nuts looked and tasted boiled. The slice of cake we got was dry. Myself and mg family will not be coming back here. Their pastry isn't good. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money.

Alright! Honesty comes first! I was having a hard time to figure out what should I do for my girlfriend's birthday. Nano I believe that she the owner. She was helping me to find the best option so I can surprise my girl! I bought my girl a Van Cleef necklace as a birthday gift! I chose a Queen Pillow cake two layers and wanted to hide the necklace inside the cake! Nano was very trustful and very Genuine! I handed her something the worth more than 10k for a beautiful cake that worth $200. Yes I paid $200 for a two layer cake. 1- The place is clean 2- they care about you 3- they help you to find the best options 4- their cakes taste the best So let me share my moments and my girls gift and cake Thank you and love you Nano

I bought some pastries from this place and they were soggy and old tasting. Definitely not fresh and horrible quality. The woman working there was extremely rude the costumer service was the worst part. I would never recommend anyone to come here for this horrible service and old pastries.

We were having dinner next store and decided to get some dessert. The eclair and Opera cake were both delicious. The red velvet cake was inedible. It was so dry. The cake part in the opera cake was a little dry as well. Maybe because it was the end of the weekend. Either way 2 out of the 3 were great.

Good! But only went there cause Ceasars two minutes up the street ran out of their chocolate rum balls. They had a line out the door there too- on a late Sat. afternoon. Vrej had them, waay smaller than Caesar's - they're very good, but they charge 50 cents more to use Apple Pay- or any credit card they said. I didn't have cash on me- plenty of places don't even take cash anymore! Ridiculous!

Decent pastry, terrible customer service. Don't try to return their overpriced candles. They'll give you bogus excuses and act rude.

Amazing Baklava all kinds, friendly and polite people. I order quarter sheet of a variety of sweets fresh and ready to eat. Additionally they make cakes, they have French pastries and Italian pastries. Absolutely delicious

We ordered a cake for a 4 years old birthday girl, the cake was ready on time, beautifully made, exactly what we asked for and it was delicious! Everyone was happy! Thank you, will order from Vrej Pastry for future celebrations.

One of my favorite pastry shops in California. I live over an hour away but whenever I'm in the area I will always stop by Vrej. I usually get the kanafe but everything there is great! Staff is always friendly and has explained to me what each pastry is when I am unfamiliar with it.

Please make sure your workers wear a MASK I did not feel safe in your store ,one wasn't wearing at all the other one her nose was uncovered .

The most delicious basic bakeries in the north valley, possibly all of San Fernando Valley talk about authentic deliciousness. I had the pistachio almond pastry and it was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be coming back. The service is excellent. The ladies are so nice at the counter and I highly recommend just stopping by for a quick pastry. They have all different sorts of fun treats 10 out of 10!

I wish there was more stars to give this place... I love this place's pastry,always fresh,always yummy with the best costumer service... the girls works there are very respectful and helpful with anything we always want it... Any cake pictures I've taken there they made it amazingly perfect... My family and I loved going there even for breakfast they have fresh yummy croissant and kunefe ...

Have gotten cakes and desserts from here for 6+ years! This place has the most delicious Lebanese sweets and Armenian pastries in LA! So many options as well!! The people who work here are so so sweet and never fail to make a customers day!

Good cakes and pastries. Not as good as Breadologie for pastries but better than Cesar's. They also make cakes that are very very good!

I went to Vrej on 1/26/21. I was there early in the morning and the only customer in the shop. An employee, appeared to be the owner - dark hair maybe 40's, walked out from the kitchen to assist me WITH NO MASK. Not even a mask pulled down and hanging from her neck or one ear, not even an ill fitting mask - simply no mask with no apologies and not a care in the world. Her attitude was evident. I said "ugh, no thanks" and walked straight out and over to Italia in the same shopping center where I had a great service and cannoli experience. I see reviewers stating that they take covid precautions here and that is a reason that I went. But in my experience, this is either untrue or no longer the case. I agree with the reviewer who said if this is how she is when we can see her, what is she getting away with when we can't? Also, I could never trust any food establishment that cuts corners on health, safety, and basic santization practices.

If you're in the Granada Hills/Northridge area, this is a must stop. Especially on weekend mornings to scoop up some Knafeh, which is a middle eastern delight!

This is the 2nd time I bought the anise cookies recently. They were almost burnt and had an old oil taste. Idk if it's under new ownership or what but this is not the same quality as the original Vrej used to be a few years back. Same with the cookies w/ the dates. It went straight to the trash ‍ these cookies used to be baked just right with a buttery flavor not a nasty old oil flavor. I hope they will go back to the original recipes otherwise they will lose more clients like me.

I'm a regular at neighboring Furn Saj, so to cut through the savory goodness one night, I stopped by Vrej Pastry for some sweets. There is quite a bit to pick from, so I figured there would be something my family and I would like for dessert. FOOD: Slice of Tiramisu: Good. The chocolate's bitterness is good, while the cake itself was perfectly moist and sweet. The taste of cappuccino was light but flavorful. It's been awhile since I've Tiramisu, but this was pretty good. Slice of Opera Cake: Good, although my family and I had mixed reviews. This cake was chocolate overload with a nice and creamy custard in the middle and a hint of coffee. I found this to be a bit too sweet for my liking, while my family thought this was just right. Slice of Honey Cake: Good, and probably my personal favorite of the 3 slices of cake. This one was naturally sweet with a strong clear taste of honey; it was also creamy and rich. I thought the sweetness was on point, but my family said it was sweeter than the Opera Cake. Each layer had a slightly chewy texture. I've seen and smelled honey cake many times at Uzbek restaurants, but this was the first time I have tried it. The service was brisk but friendly. Although I was actually expecting to find classic Middle Eastern desserts like K'nafeh or Aish el Saraya, Vrej is a good find nonetheless.

Pastries not very fresh but it is ok depending on what you get. Better to custom order.
