I ordered a product (approximately) around the beginning of the month of July. Ironically, I received an email stating, "my product would not be shipped until after the 4th of July Holiday. I was amenable, and really looking forward to this product until I found it in a dilapidated state after being delivered by FEDEX. Dry Ice containers were for all intents,-and-purposes warm as the "Food Product." In such a state; this Pork product is as unconsumable, as it is indigestible for Human consumption. Placating, justification would not be viable options in dealing with the profound discrepancies having been taken place. Great place to buy quality meats. They make the best corned beef and they have American cooked salami which is also very good. Their prices are great too.

We bought red hot dogs, the price was wonderful compared to buying them in a grocery store.

Found exactly what I needed for meat. Reasonable priced. Woul go back for more when I'm in the area. Service was excellent!!

It's hard to say that a business that has been around for 160 years is a hidden treasure but their Bomarc Rd retail location in Bangor is the best for my large family. I go every week to load up on Bacon, thick sliced and smoked to perfection, Hamburger by the 5 lb bag, Red Hot Dogs I buy in bulk and freeze and all seasonal spiral hams, turkeys and Prime Rib. Not only is the staff great, prompt and great pricing, but the meats are simply the best. Nothing against the big boxes, but I personally will never buy meat anywhere else. Check 'em out, it's real and good,160 years speaks for itself. Also, Christmas around the corner I buy Gift Cards for my family and friends and they always say it's the best gift. They use them to order on line for at home delivery.

After an 8-hour drive from NYC, we were eager to stock up for dinner before settling into our Airbnb. Little did we know we'd stumble upon such a delightful spot! The moment we walked in, we were greeted by the warmest smiles and most genuine hospitality. Sean, his uncle (whom I mistakenly called "Fred" due to his striking resemblance to the Fred in the photo on the wall), and the lovely ladies at the cashier and pick-up area exemplified the friendly disposition Maine is known for. Their kindness set the perfect tone for our vacation. The real star of the show, however, was the meat. Both the ribeye and T-bone steaks were absolutely phenomenal - succulent, flavorful, and cooked to perfection on our Airbnb’s charcoal grill! The jerky sticks were really delicious too. Thanks for recommending the BBQ flavor. We can’t wait to try their breakfast sausage links, hamburger patties and bacon tomorrow. This place has definitely earned a spot on our must-visit list for future Maine trips. What a fantastic first impression of the Pine Tree State!"

Choose your battles. Yes, they have good deals on meat and other things, but at what cost? Service is shoddy. They don't seem to appreciate your business and could care less how you feel about it. So like I said, just choose your battles, but don't go there expecting to be impressed. Get your meat and go. Amended. To the reply from WA Bean being below, because it won't let me respond: last time I called instead of leaving a review and you personally, Mr Bean, argued with my wife on the phone. No need to call as I said before if you shop here "just grab your meat and go."

Best butcher shop ive ever been too. Huge selection. Great breakfast sausages, have a wild blueberry sausage, had the best pastrami ive ever ate!

Yeah you just try to thank you for the closet main red hot dogs. Turned out this was their warehouse where they actually make the hot dogs and then ship them out! Called ahead of time for a tray of red snapper hot dogs, and the guy was nice enough to actually take us right inside in their cooler area to show us the freshly made ones that were hanging. And then gave us a pack of the Red Hots on the house :) Really sweet people. Hot dogs were delicious too. Just pan-fried them and they had good flavor!

Absolutely love this place! Whether it is their red snapper hot dogs or the myriad of other meat products they sell, this place is spot on!! I tried their mince meat pie filling this year and it was fantastic! Also love that they support the Dexter Red Hotdog Festival each year.

First Time there. Ribeyes looked good. Sorry won't be back.Tough & lack of flavor! There are 2 other meat dealers I am going to try. Nothing so far as good as Harris Ranch in Colinga, Ca.

This is a local gem that more people in and around Bangor should make themselves acquainted with. It's understandable though; I lived here for a number of years before I became aware of the retail store. While Bean's products are available in most of the supermarkets around here, you don't hear much about the retail store. If you're not familiar with the retail store on Bomarc Road, I suggest you visit! You can walk into this place with $20 and walk out with about two week's worth of various sausages. Everything they make here is delicious. The salami cold cuts are the best that I have ever had, hands down (and I've had a lot). Their andouille is as great for breakfast as it is in a soup, gumbo or off the grill. They have a HUGE variety of products to choose from and if you want to buy in bulk there are a large number of meat packages to pick from, ranging in price from +/- $90 to over $100. These packages are also large and full of enough meat to fill a big portion of your freezer, if not the whole thing. There are a lot of fresh (really great looking, too) cuts of beef, smoked chickens, pork cuts and ribs. There really is just too much available to completely list. Go see for yourself. Really, if you're in and/or around Bangor, stop by W A Bean and get you some.

Although I'm not a big "meat-fan", in all the years we've gotten meats and fish from WA Bean we have never been disappointed. The prices are great and the quality is very high -- my husband and the rest of our family get so excited every time we go there to make a purchase! It definitely is Bangor the way Bangor used to be when I was little and went there with my dad -- the family and all the staff are attentive and the details of the customer's experience are very important to them! Rah, WA Bean!!!

As someone that has been in the service industry and for pretty much the past few decades and myself growing up just outside of Bangor in Eddington i have yet to find a better quality product any where. I now live in Florida and just recently ordered some of their red snapper hot dogs (best in the world) along with a few other items. the thing is they have what alot of companies have lost and forgotten about. they still care example: i made my order online two days later i call just being curious of when it might be delivered and how. not only was there no automated machine i was not even put on hold. i simply asked about my order gave my name and im told oh yes it will be at your door step Wednesday. and as you can see from other reviews if there is any problem with your satisfaction not just an automated responce but the owner him self tries to make it right how America is suppose to be run and how it used to be a long time ago thank you for not changing with the times
