W & Z Asian Bistro & Sushi Bar

I loved the Japanese plum wine. Food tastes good and the place feels pleasant. Service is okay but I did have to ask for my water 3 times. Seems like only one waiter was service all tables when we were there.

May 2025 Dropped rating again- we probably won't be back. Yelling in the center section where they make drinks. Asked for a booth and taken to a half both half chairs. Asked again for a booth, menus set on another table and we waited while it was cleaned, watched them walk away, stops waiting to be seated, then was asked if we were going to sit. We sat, them got our own menus. Decided what we wanted. No one took our orders. Placed menus on the end of the table so they knew we were ready. No one came. Made eye contact with someone cleaning a table. Made eye contact with 3 others walking by. The one cleaning the table started cleaning a table master to us so I asked..."excuse me, who will be taking our orders?" He said "me"and kept cleaning a very sheets 8 top table, took the bucket of dishes to the back, came back and started wiping down that table- caught my glace, set down the rag, came over, asked "what do you want?" We live across the street and used to come here every week. We've watched service decline, spoke to a few who claimed to be management, and now we're giving up Feb 2024 I had to drop my rating. This is the third time we've gone to dinner and staff have stayed moving tables, sweeping, mopping, and cleaning at 8pm... When they close at 9. We left at 820 after feeling pushed out by the smell of cleaning supplies, employees making noise moving tables and chairs, and mopping within 5 feet of us. We had to step out slowly and carefully because of the wet floors! I even apologized as we left... "Sorry we stayed so late. We thought you closed at 9." The young woman looked up from her cell phone long enough to say "we do". The last time this happened, I had invited my family and future in laws... We had 13 people. I had bragged so much about this place. The first timers said the food was good but they wouldn't come back because of the lack of customer service and actual rude treatment. They had such great service when they opened... So sad that they've let that service drop. The lunch menu was extensive and the portions were great! The food was delicious and the presentation was incredible. I don't know what other tables ordered but for was presented with bonsai trees and different sculptures! The cheesecake, fried cheesecake, and tiramisu were great!

We are always looking for new places to try, so we stopped at W&Z. Service and food were good. We started with the Shrimp Wonton Soup. Hubby ordered the Happy Four Seasons, which came with chicken, beef, shrimp, scallops, and vegetables, and mixed it with lo mein. I ordered the Roll A Sushi plate, which came with 6 of each tuna, salmon, and California rolls. Good size portions and lots to choose from on menu. We will definitely be back.

It's been awhile since I did a review on this restaurant and once again I was not disappointed. I ordered the rainbow sushi. Not only was it delicious but also a strikingly beautiful creation of Art. My dining companion decided to have sweet and sour shrimp with brown rice. The dish was not as beautifully presented nor any veggies (such as broccoli) and it seemed to my companion that it didn't have much flavor and needed salt. I'll put it to you this way Prescott, I'm coming back for more sushi

Stayed with the rolls and nagiri. Good flavor, great price on the standard rolls. Service was quick for 7pm on a weeknight.

The first thing we experienced was a warm welcome from the staff! Smiling faces and ready to seat us promptly , Kyle was our server, and he was very nice and attentive he answered the questions we had and got us our drinks and appetizer quickly. The cashew chicken was delicious and fresh as can be , we also got the Pheonix roll and red dragon both very good and everything came out in a timely manner. Thank you, Kyle and crew, for a wonderful dinner experience.

**Update** I have increased my review to 5/5! They upped their game and when I went there last Saturday, not only is the food still outstanding, but the restaurant was super clean. *old review* The only reason I gave them a 4 instead of 5 stars was because the floors were sticky and the bathroom wasn’t very clean. If I had ordered take out, I probably would have given them a 5. Food was really good.

Other than the very rude two Karens in the restaurant it was a pleasant experience . The food and service took longer than we expected but everything was fresh ad very good presentation .

We were seated and served quickly. They had nice music playing and staff was polite. Food amazing as always !

I had the Lo Mein Noodle special. It could use a lot more seasoning to jazz up the dish and some jumbo shrimp instead of medium, if they want to compete with Szechuan in Sedona. From other comments I think more spice in everything might help. Like in the movie 100 Foot Journey, people can take the spice. Otherwise not too interesting.

Ease of ordering online great! They accommodated all requests perfectly- even called us to let us know order was done. Food was delicious!! Egg drop soup was piping hot. Vegetable egg roll was crispy and sauce was the perfect sweet/sour. Sautéed broccoli and rice were fresh and tasty. Great place with vegetarian options! Would love to see a broccoli/tofu truly vegetarian entree and not with oyster sauce.

Contrary to other postings, I think this hot sour soup is the best I've ever had. Please try it again!

Wasn't sure what to expect with Sushi in Prescott, but wow... I was super impressed! Ordered the Green Dragon Roll, Red Dragon Roll, Sake (Salmon) sashimi and a spicy California roll. The salmon was buttery and not at all fishy (probably one of the top ten salmon sashimi places). The rest of the rolls were very tasty, nicely wrapped and well presented. The service was fast, friendly and patient. The restaurant had great parking, lots of seating and even a lot of places at the sushi bar. Nicely decorated. Looking for Sushi in Prescott, make this your first stop.

I love the udon at this place. The broth is deep and full of umami, and the noodles are soft but still have a great bite. Everything tastes fresh and well balanced.

Awful. Wonton soup was horrible and tempura was just greasy fried vegetables. Never again!

There's no way that people on this app are saying that the sushi is fresh and if you think that then you clearly don't live in a coastal area or have ever actually had good sushi. For starters, I get the prices are higher cuz it's Prescott valley. Where the hell would they even get fresh fish? Second, the sushi is mediocre at best. Honestly, you'd probably get the same quality of food if you went to your local gas station and bought the pre packaged sushi from there. The California roll is pathetic. You couldn't even shred the imitation crab so that it at least LOOKS more presentable? I had to stop for a second cuz I thought I got the wrong order. My goodness, I'm so glad I don't actually live in this area because it is a serious cry for help for more diversity. Oh well. I guess if you know nothing better, this is probably the best it's gonna get. (16/100--2023)

Horrible Service. I ordered the bento box for lunch. Typically I will get chicken teriyaki but decided to try beef. I received the order ...which looked very good... took a bite of the beef and continued to chew and chew and chew, finally I had to spit it out into a napkin. The beef was so tough. I told the waiter and he looked at me like a deer in the headlights and finally asked if I would like chicken. I said yes. He took the box (plate) away and later brought me the chicken. Later he brought me the bill and it was for the beef. I told him he needed to change the bill to chicken as that is what I ate. Same look as above and then told me I ordered beef and even though they replaced it with chicken I still had to pay the amount for the beef and further stated it was only about a dollar more. I disagreed and asked to speak to the manager. He said there was no manager on duty and did change the bill to the chicken. However, when he brought back the 2nd bill, he stated that I should be paying for the beef because they had plenty of other beef orders today and no one else had complained. I will never dine at any WZ restaurant again.

Nice buffet. Good food selection and Reasonable price. We will visit regularly. Try it!

I had the kung pao chicken for lunch today as I have wanted to try their non sushi offerings for a while. It was not good! It really looked good with all the vegetables and chicken in it but there was no flavor. The brown sauce might have been a watered down hoisin sauce. I could barely taste anything. And it definitely was not spicy. There three small pieces of Thai pepper in the mix. Now remember, they are in Prescott Arizona and there are a lot of old people. That may be the reason for lack of any seasoning as old people just don't like it. It did fill me up but I just feel kind of empty as it was not a memorable experience. Keep to the sushi as it is pretty decent.

Best prices for sushi that I've seen in a while. Everything tasted great and it was an ease getting a table & ordering. Overall good place to get some sushi

Every time my wife and I are in the PV area we'll stay for dinner; we usually eat at W&Z Asian Bistro since sushi in the CV area is limited. Up until this visit, we weren't terribly disappointed as the 'food & service' to cost ratio has been palatable (north of a "super great value" and shy of "I can't believe they're charging these prices"). At any rate, the staff **kindly included a 20% tip** onto our final bill. This, for a party of 5: my pre-teen granddaughter, two of her friends, and my wife and I, seated at one table. Parties large enough for two or more tables, sure inclusive tips are standard in my experiences, but I've never considered a party seated at one table to be large, but I digress. Perhaps the "policy" was based on the cost? Normally, with just the wife and I, we'll pay just north of 3 Andrew Jacksons; this time around we needed a Benji and two Jacksons - not including the 20%. My grown daughter, visiting from another state, and I had a disappointing dining experience here! Soon as we were seated, we acknowledged the atmospheric wooden interior. The flimsy silverware, lighter in weight and quality than camping utensils, and wrapped in one thin napkin made us wonder about the quality of what was to come. When we ordered an appetizer and entree, our waiter, with no word, dropped off the appetizer with no plates. He left so quickly that we had to look around to find him to tell him we needed plates. He returned with two small saucer-sized plates but with only one small sauce dish. Maybe just one of us was to use the soy sauce, fresh ginger, and wasabi. Our server must not have remembered that were two of us dining or maybe he was told to use less dishes. The unsmiling, silent server put the entree on the edge of the table and once again disappeared. Obviously, he was expecting us to eat the entree along with the rice on the appetizer plates. Because we didn't want to wear the food, I had to leave my seat to find someone who could provide dinner-sized plates. I found an employee wrapping the silver ware and requested plates for our dinners, she bent down to shelves below her and handed me two more appetizer plates. When I explained again that we wanted dinner-sized plates, she seemed to think this was an unusual request. "Oh, I will have to go find plates that size." Luckily, before our food was cold, she found two and brought them to where we were sitting. At this time, I must note, the restaurant wasn't busy, with plenty of empty seats, evidenced also by the parking lot with room for many more customers. We hadn't even finished eating, when the waiter dropped the check on the table. He was truly a man of no words, not asking, "Would you like anything else," Would you care for another drink or dessert," or better yet, "Was everything okay"? Maybe he was told to free up space in the dining room to prepare for the large crowd arriving soon. The container we requested for the food we were taking home was not accompanied by a bag to put it in. This didn't seem to be the usual protocol, because a couple nearby was given their containers in a bag. Unfortunately, all of the above occurrences have overshadowed the fact that we appreciated the delicious tasting food but not enough to want to return.

Been real disappointed with their food lately. For the amount of $ I've spent with them, I'll will be going to someone else. Orange chicken is dry.

Great, solid first impression. Attentive wait staff, very good, tart, crispy orange chicken, large white meat portions. Vegetable roll was good but only 5 pieces. Wasabi was extra hot the way I like it! Egg rolls were above average and have chicken in them. Moscow Mule was strong and flavorful, wifey had the vegetable Lo Mein and really liked it. Trendy music or something more popular would be an improvement. The bar surprised us - very good all around. Try your favorite dish and drink here!

The good news is the food tastes good, However, upon a takeout order I smelled a hint of bleach on the shrimp... ughh really. Why I. The world would I smell that on food? I can tell because I have a high aversion to it instantly. Never went back.

Hubby and I came in for an early dinner late lunch sorted deal, I decided to have my food served dim sum style. I ordered the egg drop soup, the goyoza, chicken dumplings, And the beef and broccoli with rice dish talk about the hitch is. It the beef and broccoli with rice. This has to be one of the best tasting dishes that I have had in a really long time I love the style of the restaurant it was a beautiful dark Moody as in Quaint quiet evening out with your significant other.

We love this place. Today it was 4 ladies and 2 had not been to this location. They were very impressed. All our food was fabulous and our server was great. I'd recommend to all.

We just moved to the area and we were so excited to try it out- I'd like to say it was a very disappointing experience and we will not be returning. The customer service was pretty much nonexistent. We got sat and then waited 5 minutes to even be acknowledged. The sushi was very lack luster as well as the pineapple fried rice. Aside from the food being very bland we found ants in our water.

A nice find for an Asian meal! They have so much to choose from. Chinese, Japanese, Thai and it's all greasy and very good, I had a rainbow roll that really hit the spot for my sushi craving. We will be back!

While leaving Sprouts one afternoon, I noticed to the left across the parking lot was W&Z Asian Bistro. Who cooks after a grueling trip to the market. Not I so I decided to give the bistro a try. Located in Prescott Valley off of HWY 69 in a plaza with plenty of parking and other stores. I had 2 vegetable rolls which were very greasy. I had the mixed vegetables with garlic saucy which I asked for spicy but had no spice. There wasn't any real flavor. The food was average at best. Unfortunately I won't be back.

Oh my god everything was amazing here ! The wait staff were so on top of it and they answered all our questions. The food came out so quickly and did I mention they have a gluten free menu??? Plus it was my father's birthday the day that we went and they brought him an ice cream mochi which was so thoughtful and considerate. Everything was actually the meat and not just a bunch of filler kind of items. Loved it.

The sushi is always fresh and well presented. Service is spot on and just a nice place to eat. Their price for a glass of wine is $14 for 4-5 oz.

First time ordering and we had it delivered. They took effort to pack it carefully so it arrived hot and upright. The order included the cheese wontons. They were cooked well but I wasn't a fan of the cheese filling. We also had egg rolls which were delicious - my favorite part of the meal. Crispy, well filled, tasty. We also had the sweet and sour chicken which was very standard but also good. We'll definitely eat here again. Price point was average. Portion sizes were generous. Fees for the delivery service were outrageous so we won't use them again.

Absolutely terrible. Will never go back to any of the WZ. If you want fresh food or sushi, this is not the place. Ordered jalapeño boat, egg rolls, 3 sushi rolls and all were awful. The sushi rolls looked old and discolored when server brought them out. Husband only ate a few, left the rest. 70 bucks down the drain.

Great food, and the noodles were so good, my girlfriend stole them from me. The sushi tastes fresh, and the portions for other meals were pretty big. The service wasn't great, I was served my food 15 minutes before anything else came out, and we had to ask over and over for utensils, napkins, and sides that were missing.

So far so good! I wanted take out and really wanted sushi. Decided to order online at the new sushi place in town. The order got a little lost but it's a new place so we gotta give them some time to work out the kinks.. The food was fantastic, fresh and I will for sure get everything again. We got the cotton rolls, spider rolls, Cali rolls and a few other items. All great!

We ordered 2 poke bowls for takeout for lunch during the week day . One salmon poke bowl and one deluxe poke bowl. They said 30 minutes until it was ready. Although we had to wait a little longer than that , it was well worth the wait! Been looking for a poke place to open in Prescott for a while, so we were thrilled this restaurant had it on there menu , and it was delicious ! Great portions , fresh fish and very filling. Be patient with them as they are brand new and working out kinks!

My husband and I tried this restaurant out the other day, and we each chose a different food item and tasted each other's choices. I chose Chicken Pad Thai, and my husband had the Salmon Bento Box. My Pad Thai was mediocre and lacked flavor. The chicken was tender, and the noodles were plentiful, but it was not that good. My husband's Bento box was also on the dull side, flavor wise. They had a variety of little dishes, and it was nicely presented. We won't be in a hurry to return, based on our one experience.

Meh.... Hot and sour soup was not sour in the least. Dressing on salad was horseradish and garlic - just gross. Teriyaki steak was properly cooked but the sauce tasted watered down. Tempura came out cold. Shrimp was coated in Panko instead of batter so it was doughy. Service was good. Food was just ok at best.

Best sushi in the area!! Fresh and Delicious every time. Dynamite roll and samurai rolls are my favorite but everything I've ever had is delicious! My son had orange chicken once here too and it was amazing. He will never want Panda Express again.

Love the food and options here. Service can be slow but food is always excellent. I would go every week if I could afford sushi that often. Favorite dish - Angel Roll and Tuna Dumplings

This place is beyond subpar. I ordered their pho (was terrible flavor and tough meat), Ramen (was average at best) salmon bowl and sushi (again all below average) I ordered to go. Good thing I checked in my car because they forgot the Ramen broth. She said "good thing you checked" seriously? That's your job and I even tipped for my food when paying and ordering. It also took like 35 mins when they said 10-15. I will never go here again and suggest you avoid it too.

Our goto place to eat when we arrive in Prescott at dinner time. Service is good and the curry chicken and 4 seasons dishes are delicious The sushi is also very good. Always leave full and satisfied

I was really excited about the 2 rolls lunch special with a soup or salad, sounded like a steal! I got a Philadelphia roll which has salmon in it...it was dreadful and tasted like bacon. On top of that, the cream cheese didn't smell great either. I got a Shrimp California roll and it tasted like there was wasabi in every bite. And the miso soup...tasted like hot garbage. My stomach still feels unwell, 0/5 stars.

Had the best "soup" at WZ Asian Bistro today. The W&Z House Curry. Was full of shrimp, scallops, chicken, beef, eggplant, tofu, mushrooms, bell peppers, asparagus, beans, and stuff I didn't know name of. All in a mild curry broth. I didn't know what I was ordering but was definitely pleased with what I got. My friend got the egg rolls and said they were very good as well. I will go back and bring the husband next time.

This buffet opened a week ago (April 2024) next to the Frontier Shopping Center in Prescott, AZ. I gave it five stars in the Chinese Buffet category. It's the best I've been to. It has a wide variety of tasty food, and the staff buzzes around the restaurant, quickly taking away plates and filling drinks. I was in a party of four, and we all agreed: this is worth returning for another fill-up. My name is Lou and I stand by this review.

One of my favorite sushi places in the area. I love that they're on uber eats too. The sushi is small but very fresh. The fried rice is delicious. Sashimi is small but chunky so its reasonably priced. Overall I highly recommend this place for Chinese or Japanese food

I am so bummed out. I just ordered beef chow mein to pick up. The menu lists this as ; No soft noodle, with crunchy noodle. All cabbage, onion, celery and bean sprouts. This beef chow mein has NO Noodles? Literally no chow mein in the beef chow mein ? I'm so confused .

My colleagues (5 of them) and I decided to meet for lunch on a Friday. We were contacted within 5 mins. and seated shortly thereafter. Drink orders were taken immediately. Each of them ordered a lunch Bento Box that came with a Teriyaki protein, miso soup, salad, California rolls, pot stickers and white rice. Competitive prices and a good amount of food for a lunch menu. I ordered the ninja roll and dynamite roll. The rolls were good and the fish was fresh and tender. Our server came back multiple times to refill our drinks. Overall, a pretty positive experience. Reviews seem to be all over the place, but my experience was positive even with our party of 6 and noon on a Friday.
