"At W Fort Lauderdale, a cool, upbeat nature is paired with thoughtful, well-appointed amenities and guest rooms. It’s a beachfront getaway that manages to serve multiple purposes and types of guests. One of its main attractions, the WET Deck pool, is the type of place where you can start your weekend a little early on a lounger with a frozen drink in hand. The hotel’s location also allows guests an easy way to get in some beach time and explore the neighborhood." - Travel + Leisure Editors

My husband and I were lucky to spend two nights at this hotel. We had a great room with king sized bed. We loved the balcony and the room itself. Our first night we hung at the library bar which was a great place to have some cocktails and snacks. It has the strangest bathroom though (iykyk). We spent a day at the beach which is just across the street. The guys working were great but there is no extra service there (just towels and bottled water). Chairs are close together and we noticed that this was one of the few sections of the beach that didn’t have some type of bar. We have friends who live locally who met us for dinner at the hotels Mexican restaurant. We had great service and a wonderful meal. Highly recommend. We asked for a late checkout which they could not accommodate but we were able to spend most of the day at the pool. Great service and comfortable seats albeit on top of each other. Overall, we really liked our stay at the W and would return. The only issue we had was the prices at times were very high for what the amenities were and we should have gotten a late check out as Bonvoy members.

Went for a girls weekend to relax and escape. Sergio from Bucher Bros at the beach was absolutely amazing. We had chairs and umbrellas set up and water all day. Fabian at the lobby bar is incredible. Went back from other bars nearby to enjoy his service and cocktails. Highly recommend his gin cocktail Fab75. Pool vibe was wonderful had full service, nice heated pool with ocean views. Amazing restaurants and sushi all around with excellent service. All hotel staff was accommodating and helpful at all times. The only issue was some of the rooms have a musty/mold smell, and visible mold in bathroom and on vents. There is definitely a problem that needs to be addressed- unexpected for A stay at the W. We had to change rooms twice- I am highly allergic to mold and it being visible on top was just not the expectation. If we had been in the final room we ended up in it would have been a true 5 star stay, but unfortunately impacted our experience greatly as we changed twice over 2 days.

Juan and Sergio were very friendly and attentive and tended to all of our needs at the beach. They provided exceptional service! Housekeeping staff were super friendly and accommodating - Dee Dee was super sweet!! I would rate 5 stars but wasn’t very happy with front desk personnel.

I had an amazing experience thanks to the beach attendant Juan y Sergio at the hotel! From the moment I arrived, they were attentive, friendly, and always went the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable. Whether it was setting up chairs and umbrellas, bringing fresh towels, or offering great local tips, their service was top-notch. It truly made my beach days so much more relaxing and enjoyable. Thank you for the excellent hospitality — you made my stay unforgettable! Definitely Will be back soon.

We had a fantastic experience with the valet service at the W Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, thanks to one of your team members Natasha. She was professional, courteous, and incredibly efficient. Despite a busy evening, she handled everything with a calm and welcoming attitude. It made a big difference in our overall stay. Thank you for having such dedicated and friendly staff.||Thank you, |Orlando & Ana

When you think "W" you expect a certain level of quality. Even with that expectation the hotel was far better. The entire property was stunning. I had the most incredible room overlooking Fort Lauderdale Beach with a beautiful wrap around balcony. The restaurant food was outstanding. I was even welcomed with a great glass of sangria. In addition, I was fortunate enough to meet Mr Raul Lopez, the hotel manager. He was so professional, kind and caring and really wanted to insure my stay was perfect. I would strongly recommend this hotel to everyone!

My wife and I were excited to celebrate our 3-year wedding anniversary at the W Fort Lauderdale and reserved a suite with an ocean view balcony to make the occasion memorable. Unfortunately, the bedroom room we were assigned had a view of the building’s rooftop infrastructure, pipes, vents, and mechanical equipment completely obstructing the ocean and far from the experience we expected. It’s difficult to understand how a room with this type of view could be marketed and priced as “ocean view.” Where is the management oversight to prevent situations like this? I’ve attached a photo of the view we were given; it speaks for itself. I sincerely hope hotel leadership reviews this feedback and takes steps to ensure other guests don’t have the same experience. Google
Hotel overall is amazing. Service is exceptional especially Fabio at the bar and Sergio who helped us at the beach. Rooms need an update as we had mold in two rooms. We were moved three times to try and find a room that was mold-free. While it was a bit disruptive, I do think the service was still incredibly accommodating. Views are perfect. Right on the beach and the pool upstairs was a lot of fun. Parking was $60 a day. If they address the mold issue I’d come back in a heartbeat.

Yelp
Great location and the staff is amazing, They gave us a upgraded suite with a balcony you could play baseball on....Cant say enough good things about our visit.

Yelp
I came to the W Fort lauderdale for a fun free event for a Taylor Swift tailgate. They had adorable decorations around, as well as food and drinks at the bar, and it included Taylor Swift karaoke with live band. I sang Love Song for the karaoke, I was surprised to be the only one that participated in the karaoke over the age of 12. I was a little bit disappointed that the outdoor balcony was closed due to some wind, and that there was another room advertised to be open with decorations for an event from 10 AM till 3 PM, even though I got there at 12:30 PM, it was not set up yet. All in all, this was very nice for a free event and I am glad that I went.

Yelp
You go to a hotel at a time they are having a hurricane and ALL resort features are unavailable and these crooks still charge you the resort fee. When we called the dispute the charge they said "if we give you the credit we would have to do it for all." Well, if everyone complained I guess they is true or be a legit operation and not charge people for stuff you can't use per the state, county, property. The towels and the bathroom were always mildew smelling and this was after we had to request towels daily through the Bonvoy app. The cleaners took the old ones and made the bed and emptied the trash but didn't replenish towels. Also, for a $700/night room the furniture should not look like the attached pictures.

Yelp
After checking in online early we showed up and our room was given to someone else! We paid top dollar for this view and now our view is of bushes! Beware this utter bull and no empathy or apology. Just this is what we have. Oh and btw it's the same rate! Never again!

Yelp
To begin, the W Hotel located on Fort Lauderdale Beach is an amazing place to stay. The hotel is stylish and has modern decor, complemented by stunning views of the ocean and the surrounding beach area . The rooms are spacious and the W boast luxurious amenities. The hotel's pool area is definitely one of the highlights of the property, with its infinity pool, cabanas, and lounge chairs for guests to relax in the sun . The poolside bar also serves delicious cocktails and snacks, which you can enjoy right by the water. The hotel's on-site restaurant, Steak 954, offers a high-end dining experience that's perfect for special occasions or a night out. The menu features a variety of steak and seafood dishes, prepared with high-quality ingredients and served to perfection . To add, my family and I had a minor discrepancy with the hotel beach attendant, and Raul director of guest services addressed the issue swiftly and accordingly. I was more than satisfied with remedy provided by Raul. The attentiveness and exemplary service we received from Raul and his team, will have my family and I coming back to the W. In conclusion, if you're looking for a luxurious beachside getaway, the W Hotel on Fort Lauderdale Beach is definitely worth considering. With its top-notch amenities, beautiful setting, and exceptional service, you're sure to have a wonderful stay!

Yelp
We Loved W fort Lauderdale! The time of or stay was 7/11/24 and it was amazing. I have never stayed at a W hotel before expecting it to be like a regular beach resort but it exceeded my expectations! The rooms were clean, modern and stylish. TTwe got a room on the 21st floor and on a corner. The views of the ocean and las olas blvd. Were great. They also have 2 great restaurants, Steak 954 and El Vez Mexican. The pool at the W was also very big and clean with a tiki bar nearby. It was also only about 15 mins from Fort Lauderde Hollywood Airport (FLL). If you are in the fort lauderdale / Broward County area and want a great place to stay near the beach, I highly recommend W by Marriott Fort Lauderdale Beach.

Yelp
It's the worst business hotel I have EVER stayed at. It deserves -1 million stars. What bothers me the most is when I called the GMs office they just didn't care...,terrible, terrible, terrible . Let's start w the elevators. The wait time at 515 pm was over 25 minutes. In the morning it would be at least 5 minutes. When I asked the GMs office they said "oh, we have an elevator out of service". No sign, no "I am sorry" just that they are down an elevator. Then my first room. As a lifetime Titanium I assume they know I travel every week, and the room they put me in was right next to the elevator (I believe it was 1813), so not only was it noisy it had the WORST closet ever in a room - it was almost comical that there is a huge pillar in the closet and you can hang one coat and that's it (see the pic). I was wearing a suit at check in so I am pretty sure the front desk knew I was a biz traveler. Then I am sure I am being "scammed" or worked-over when at checkin they hand you a sheet of paper to justify their "resort fee" that is "valued at over $160, but is just $40 *13% tax not included (in small print) - second pic. Finally the desk sucks to attempt to work at - 3rd pic. I did ask to change rooms which they granted, but it is a huge pain on the a** to repack, get a new key, and move. I forgot the toilet. It was running when I got in the room because the button on top was stuck. Whoever took care of the room had to know. And speaking of maid service, somehow they cleaned my room but left the used towel on the tub (yes it's a tub/shower combo just like in the 70s) and didn't leave a clean one, While the new room was "better" and away from the elevator I still I can't get over the indifference of the GMs office, and that lack of leadership will lead to continued terrible service. Doesn't matter if you have a great location across from the beach if you treat your guests like garbage. You suck!!!

Yelp
My recent stay at this Ft. Lauderdale Beach hotel left me with mixed feelings, as there were both positive and not-so-impressive aspects to my experience. Let's start with the positives. The location of the hotel is undeniably fantastic, providing easy access to the beach and stunning ocean views. The lobby exuded a welcoming ambiance. The room, while not overly luxurious, was clean and adequately comfortable. The check-in process was anything but smooth, while I understand our stay was on christmas eve - check in is supposed to be at 3pm, our room was not ready till well after 5pm. This meant we walked the boulevard, had lunch, had drinks and came back and still had to sit by the lobby for a whole while. We also requested additional pillows and ice, and had to wait a long time for them to arrive. They also lose a star for the ridiculously expensive parking price - and the fact that you are stuck with paying it because all the parking nearby has a 4 hour limit. Beware, this is an uber in / uber out kind of place.

Daniella L.

Yelp
Great experience with this property! Right across from the beach, good customer service, good location to walk to various bars/restaurants.

Yelp
Having been to this location before and having a great experience led me to rebook again. Raol Lopez went above and beyond to help make my trip perfect with a very special room to celebrate my son's birthday . Our high room on 22nd floor with a wraparound balcony facing the ocean and views of the Intercoastal was spectacular. and Luca

Yelp
The second time at this W Ft.Lauderdale location and the W did not disappoint. The hotel is going through some renovation but Raol from customer service helped make our stay amazing with a beautiful 2 balcony room with direct ocean views. The room was filled with amenities like a walk in closet .Shower large enough for several and a beautiful tub. The barnyard doors opened up to a large bedroom with blackout curtains. We were in heaven!! The 5th floor was home to the beautiful beach view pool housed in glass. We had a quick meal at their pool bar.Thank you Xavier for taking great care of us .The grilled cheese served on thick slices of sourdough with a fig jam glass was perfect after a flight. We hope to visit the W again in the future as our 2 times have been memorable. Parking: in and out valet only that was prompt and customer centric.

Yelp
I love this area. There is much offered for a couple, a single person, or a family. We primarily stayed in this area of the beach. We could eat, shop, enjoy music, take a tour. You name it and we were able to enjoy it. There is ice cream, drinks, music. It's a lively area, but not overwhelming.

Yelp
So, full disclosure, I've been staying at this property since it opened. This past Christmas break was, um, not good. However, at the urging of a long time employee I agreed to come back. I'm glad I did. The service issues that plagues the hotel badly over Christmas/NY have all been addressed: The elevators are all functioning and it no longer takes 30+ minutes to get one Valet service is functioning properly and it doesn't take 45 to get your car (and the right car actually was delivered this time) Food at the pool was readily available, staff were easy to find and friendly. None of the orders were messed up and the food was good. Same with the drinks. The rooms were resdy when the said they would be. The HVAC worked in the rooms and they weren't either stifling hot or freezing cold. Rooms were cleaned daily at a reasonable time. The only negative per se is that the rooms and amenities are badly in need of an update. Also the pool is freezing. Not sure they don't hest it to a baseline temp temp to take the chill out. At Christmas I vowed never to return. I'm glad I did and if the status remains you should give it a shot TOO.

Yelp
There were some hiccups but overall Nickolas helped make everything so much better. Appreciated his follow up and attention to detail.

Yelp
Easy check in/check out! Comfortable bed, pillows and shower. Lighting could've been better around mirror. Coffee maker and fridge in room. Had room service for dinner. Delish and fast service. Very kind staff. Chairs, towels and umbrella given at the beach with bottle water. Breakfast was delicious too....could only eat one pancake....massive in size. Lol

Yelp
The hotel is beautiful! Here are some positive points we loved: -Bathrooms had facial wash in cream form! Amazing for after sun washes. LOVED this. - Beach staff was amazing. these poor guys work under the sun around the clock to make sure chairs, umbrellas towels, and even water is provided. -The hotel isn't really a kids friendly zone like the Fort Lauderdale Marriott. However, they have a banquet hall on the fourth floor filled with puzzles and games for them to play. It's a great place for you just to sit down and watch them play. Great idea!!! -they have two restaurants on site. The steakhouse which is 954 steakhouse is out of this world! I truly recommend the Wagyu selection of meats. They melt in your mouth! Delicious!! The Mexican restaurant is also mind blowing. - The smaller pool had the bar open and we were able to order food. Hands-down, one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had in my life. - The fitness center looks incredible. It's not one of these afterthoughts. - there was this one lady in specific who was working this weekend. She looked like an African-American woman with long braids maybe in her early 30s. She was amazing! She worked at valet and helped us with our items. Every time we would run into her, she would make it a point to make us feel welcome! I would've absolutely tried to steal her to work for me if we lived closer lol. I'm a little sad that I didn't get her name because she truly deserved recognition. -Oh! and when checking in, we were asked if we wanted rum punch! haha we kindly declined because it was early in the morning, but that was a really cool offering. - Hotel staff also had a Fourth of July set up by the front desk. They had complementary Patriotic, necklaces, glasses, etc. Our girls really liked this. Super cool! Now the negative points. And by all means, this hotel is amazing. - They market the hotel pool like this beautiful relaxing area. Maybe it's because it was memorial day weekend but main pool overseeing the beach was a total disaster. The first day we went there, it was crowded, but not absolutely horrible. That is until we realized the other guests had brought in an elderly person who was wearing a diaper and placed him in the pool. We have nothing against elderly people, and think they deserve all the joy in the world. However.... diaper? that was truly disgusting since so many people were swimming in that water. -Day two of trying to go to the pool was a Saturday. There was a line outside the door to get into what seems like a wannabe Vegas pool party. we have two small children. One of them is three years old. We had previously purchased a bag of chips from the Mexican restaurant operated and owned by the hotel. We were told at the door that the chips we purchased from the hotel had to be thrown away. We tried to tell the head person who seem to be a lost prevention manager named Al that we had purchased these chips from the hotel itself, and he did not care. I am well aware that there's certain policies at different facilities, but when children are involved, especially when items are purchased from the same establishment certain exceptions need to be made. It's ridiculous that I spend my money in the hotel and then I am told by the hotel an hour later that I have to throw away the item that I purchased to participate in a hotel activity. where was Al when there was an adult with a diaper in the pool? -last observation was that the elevators seem to take an eternity. Again, it might be because of the busy memorial day weekend. But that is the only real other issue that we had, which wasn't really that big of a deal.

Wendy S.

Yelp
Mark at front desk was very welcoming. Stated our room would be ready at 4 pm. We got the call at 12.45 it was ready. He was also very helpful with on site food suggestions. We found all staff at pool, beach, front desk restaurants and shops on site to be very respectful and helpful. The terrace on our oceanfront room was one of the best sizes and views we have ever had. Offering 3 chairs, and 1 umbrella with cold water at the beach is a definite plus. I had no trouble getting great chairs also at the pool and both places had plenty of towels. Cold water is offered at lobby and pool. Overall great 5 star stay. We will be back !

Diana O.

Yelp
The most amazing stay possible! Ended up coming here for the weekend and it couldn't have been any better. Upon arrival we checked in and they upgraded our room to a two bedroom suite. The room was so beautiful and the front desk was extremely nice and welcoming. I'm a Marriott bonvoy member, it is a completely free perk. So make sure you enroll and earn some points per stay! Definitely coming back soon!

Jennifer G.

Yelp
Amazing amazing amazing!!! What an amazing weekend with my husband!!!! Super relaxing!! Because we are titanium in Marriott, we got upgraded to a view that sees the ocean. What a view!!! Room was clean and beautiful. Hotel was absolutely beautiful!!! Pool was modern and had amazing views and lounge areas. Location is right on the beach as well. The resort fee includes free movies, bike rentals and beach chairs. There are also two restaurants in the hotel which are amazing. We will be coming back!

Christie W.

Yelp
Be aware when booking your reservation! I booked 5 months in advance. Cancelled reservation 9 days before my stay. I was informed by Daniel at the W that my reservation was a prepaid non refundable reservation. I was completely unaware of this. The W kept over $800 for a 2 night stay and would not work at all on a refund. I have never experienced this with the Hilton hotels. Be aware before booking!

Alex K.

Yelp
We booked a room that was described as a wonderful ocean view. When we checked in we didn't receive an ocean view. We weren't facing the ocean at all. Our view was of other hotels. I went down to the desk and was told that we try our best to give you the room that was booked. Even though we paid for the view we didn't get it. We were continually told that even though buildings were in our way it was still facing the ocean. This wasn't the case at all. The man at the desk just continued to argue that he was right and just because we booked that doesn't mean we would receive that. He wouldn't even get a manager for me to speak to or do anything to accommodate us. Overall very disappointing hospitality service.

Robert B.

Yelp
What a great experience. Our flight was delayed by 7 hours and the staff at the W were amazing. Can't thank Raul Lopez enough for being so accommodating. Would 100% recommend the W!

Tyler P.

Yelp
My wife and I did a beach day at the W. So happy they started serving guests down at the beach. We had an amazing server Amanda who was exceptional! Extremely professional, friendly, and efficient! Amanda made the perfect recommendation of margs and tacos and we were so happy she did because they were 10/10. Despite it being what felt like 100 degrees, our server had a smile on the entire time, and made it a point to get us our drinks and food as fast as she could. We will 100% be going back because of the A+ service we received.

Juvy L.

Yelp
Try the truffle burger, you won't be disappointed!!! Cocktails were delicious! Try to sit outside if possible

Jess R.

Yelp
We took a staycation and this is one of our favorite hotels. I can't say enough great things about this place. We were not disappointed but any means necessary. We were immediately greeted and treated with the upmost respect from the time we checked from the time we checked out. Room service is delicious and have many options. We wish we got to use the pool, but due to the wind advisory, we just sat on the deck and enjoyed the weather. We had breakfast on the balcony and it was very relaxing. We definitely enjoyed ourselves and as much-needed vacation. We didn't get the opportunity to try one of the restaurants salt7, but we will next time. They have valet if you drive so You don't have to worry about your car. The margarita pizza is a perfect midnight snack and it's good for sharing, but I didn't share Because it was just too good. Like all Good things, our vacation came to an end. But we will be back.

Stephanie W.

Yelp
Everyone knows that planning a vacation is a tedious task. You have to pick the perfect flights and the accommodations that meet your needs. With so many options, this is never easy. For the long weekend getaway that we planned in Ft Lauderdale with our daughter meeting us from another city, the accommodations were of particular importance. The sole reason that I chose the W was for the accommodating 2 bedroom suite, which is the nicest room they offer. Unfortunately, we were called the night before we were scheduled to leave and told that there was an electrical issue in tower 2 and they were going to have to move us to adjoining hotel rooms in the hotel tower. Although I wasn't pleased with this, I went ahead with the change, but as I thought more about it, it just didn't sit well. I called the front desk back a few hours later and inquired about the electrical issue in tower 2. The staff member informed me that there was no such issue and became quite uncomfortable when I explained to her why I was asking. She connected me with a manager and it became clear that we were being given conflicting stories, but regardless, we were not getting the suite that I booked. With multiple flights booked and no time to find something else we decided to keep our reservation. Huge mistake. Our rooms smelled of mold/mildew and were NOT clean. The source of the mold was the closet in the King bedroom. The view was of cranes and construction, not the panoramic ocean view we had booked. The shower did not drain. The walls and mirrors were dirty. It was just gross. The service was on par with a Hampton Inn. The pool cabana that we were comped for our "inconvenience" was a nightmare. Blaring EDM and filthy cushions. We lasted about 2 minutes. We ate one meal on property at El Vez and it felt like dining in Disney. Dirty plates, loud kids running uncontrolled and horrible service. The whole place was just so subpar. The W is a 3 star hotel at best and it safe to say, we will not be returning.

Nikki N.

Yelp
Booked this hotel using points. Thought it would be a great bang for my buck (or points in this case). Rooms were nice, bathroom has no door so if you come with someone you're not comfortable with good luck going to the bathroom. Only had 3 towels in my room, was promised robes and slippers...yea that didn't happen. Tried calling the front desk multiple times and no answer. I guess the policy of "whenever, wherever" doesn't apply during certain hours. Parking was easy they only valet for $55. Was too much to complain about that the hotel is on the beach so I didn't question it much. As for the two pools and hot tub they were pretty good. The pool on wet east had a bar and dj but was very crowded the whole time. The wet west pool has the infinity pool and hot tub. I would recommend wet west if you don't want to swim with a million people. Only about 5 people were in the west pool at any given time. If you want a drink though go to the wet deck east because the bar at wet west was never open. Elevators were very slow and some buttons didn't work. Given I was using points it was a nice hotel. I definitely would not spend over $200 for this hotel not really worth it to me. I've stayed at some nicer no name hotels. Overall great view, nice room, and ehh pools. Probably would go there again but would look for somewhere else first.

John Paul K.

Yelp
I travel every other week, and really like this hotel the most important thing to me is beds and both bed and pillows are very comfortable. I sleep very well. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The food is fantastic. Pool is fun. Location to beach is great. I love running on the boardwalk in the mornings. Good vibe in music around the hotel. If you're a high level Bonvoy member and hoping for a suite upgrade I would stay at the Westin or Marriott beach club though. I've stayed here a few times now with no luck on upgrades, colleagues who have stayed at those have better luck.

Michelle F.

Yelp
This is the fourth W Hotel I have had the pleasure of staying at. They are all so effortlessly chic. It is my favorite hotel brand. I enjoy the atmosphere and the pleasant staff. Claude was so kind and friendly. Frederick from the Netherlands at the front desk was so cheerful. The room was a great size and the partial ocean view was nice to look at. The hotel bar is still fun to sit at and you never know who you will meet. I liked using their app to order food and drinks. I do think the hotel is a little neglected. There are many loose tiles around the pool. This is so dangerous for everybody. I also saw a lot of dirt/mildew on the walls by the pool and the pool chairs are filthy. They are white so it shows all the dirt easily. All these things sort of take away from the allure of this hotel. I enjoyed sitting ok the beach in the chairs provided by the hotel. The guy was so unenthusiastic who put the towels on our chairs. I actually had to get another towel because the first one was not enough for me. El Vez, the Mexican restaurant in the hotel was fantastic. It is a mixed bag at the W but all in all it is fun to stay at.

Yelp
Average I stayed there two years ago and felt it was an "elite" hotel, last night not so much. Everything was just "OK" and nothing was over the top great. Rooms are starting to show signs of wear and tear and needs an update

Yelp
My family and I went here for a staycation and we absolutely enjoyed our time. The pool area is beautiful with the nice cabanas and beverage by the pool side. The interior of the hotel was nice and modern and the rooms were clean. It is in walking distance from restaurants and located right across from the beach. The only complaint I have is that we found a bottle of sparking water half empty, whilst the other bottles were full. For a great hotel like this, a half empty water bottle found in a hotel room is unsanitary and unacceptable. Overall, I would come here again and I had an enjoyable stay with my family.

Yelp
Great location. Far enough away from Las Olas to avoid the heavy crowds but walking distance from the beach, a Starbucks, Wine Garden, etc. highly recommend an oceanfront room to watch the sunrise. The water pressure in the sink and shower were awful. We requested someone to come fix it the first time and no one showed up. The second time we called, someone came and didn't have the correct piece needed to fix it. It wasn't as kid friendly as we wished. They had a few 4th of July activities for the kids (they loved the karaoke), but there were so many heavily intoxicated people everywhere. On our last day there at 12 PM, there was a man asleep on the floor of the handicap stall. We may try a different hotel next time.

Yelp
We stayed here for 5 days so of course we wanted to love it however... there were so many instances which lead to much disappointment. The hotel does not look the way it does in its pictures. It honestly needs to be updated as a lot of the furniture is stained throughout the hotel (including our couch & table in our room). The gym is really small and also has a lot of very outdated and broken gym equipment. Would be nice to have at least newer equipment. We had a balcony which gave some really pretty views of the beach from our room (this is deserving of a star) but if anyone else was on their balconies, or had their balcony open we literally heard everything (we were on the 21st floor). If you are not an older white couple then you will definitely get treated differently. My wife and I are a younger, same sex, woman of color couple and we had quite a few unfair treatment instances with the pool side staff, front desk and beach attendants despite being Marriott Bonvoy Elite members. This pushed us to contacting the general manager as we got fed up. They charge a resort fee but don't put that there's caveats to things.. such as they don't promote the daily fitness classes, beach chairs & umbrella aren't guaranteed (also the times we went to the beach we were told they were running out of towels so they tried to give us one towel for two people even though the older white couple before us got four towels for two people), they also did not have umbrellas available when it rained. And the icing on the top was when we went to check out there were larger charges that we did not make (from the wet deck). The front desk looked into it and said they couldn't find it in the system yet somehow it appeared on our receipt. Since they couldn't find it they had to remove it but thankfully we caught it. So, if you do decide to stay despite everything else I said.... Make sure you CHECK your check. Pros: Across the street from the beach, pool is heated (on cold days), on the calmer area of the strip, rooms are decent size.

Yelp
The hotel was awesome! Perfectly located and amazing, friendly staff! In particular, I'd like to acknowledge Xavier (pronounced X Zavier) the bartender at the pool bar. His frozen drink which combines mojito with Pina colada is outstanding! It's so tasty that I waited for his shift to start today before ordering from the other great bartenders. In addition, Xavier is very friendly and engaging and made me feel very welcome. He helped make the trip fun and I will sure to be back at his bar the next time I'm in Fort Lauderdale. Thanks Xavier for helping to make the stay amazing! Best, Adam

Yelp
Great location, lucky to get an upgraded room from Marriott Bonvoy Rewards so we had a corner room with sliding doors that opened on two sides - awesome ocean breeze. Everything you need is within walking distance. They staff is very attentive and helpful. They have a really cool feature at the pool where you can actually walk down the stairs in the middle of the pool. They are very strict on check out time and will bang on your door even with the privacy tag on. We had 20 minutes before check out but they wanted us OUT. The resort fee of $ 45 is bogus. I wish hotels would just do away with this and include it in the room rate. Pet Peeve of mine.

Yelp
I loved this hotel! Stayed here this past weekend with my wife and it was very relaxing. Although I live in broward it was nice to rent here as it is next to the beach. The room was beautiful and clean. We had a beautiful view of of beach. And although it was supposed to rain the weather was beautiful. There are two restaurants on-site which we tried and loved. There's also a bad with really good drinks. The pool is really cool and had really cool chairs. We will be coming back just to go into the pool!

Yelp
This hotel isn't as nice as the other Ws. We had a suite but it was very outdated and things barely worked in the room. Service wasn't as great either. Very mediocre

Yelp
As returned customers to the W in Fort Lauderdale on the beach, we were very disappointed this time. The hotel has gone down and we realize that the minute we stepped in our room and felt the humidity and smelled of mold. When we called down to switch rooms, they gave us another room smaller than the original one we paid for with a small balcony that barely fit two people room 2213. You would think they would've adjusted our bill, but they charge us the same amount. The shower grout had mold and the bathroom sink would always get clogged. The W Hotel is no longer in an elite class. I've stayed in Hamptons 'nicer than the W. To make things worse on our last day. Our key stopped working in the elevator and would not open up the door so we had to go all the way down and fix that. We were very disappointed with our stay and to make things worse this was for our anniversary. Even the restaurants we attended the Mexican café downstairs had leaks from the rain and the air condition vents. It leaked right on our table. Very sad from what this hotel used to be. this is no longer a high-end hotel and I would reconsider booking your stay here. Also, the TV kept losing signal, and I took pictures to show you that.

Yelp
We loved our week stay at the W. We are Marriott reward members and were upgraded to a primo residence for the week. It was really modern and beautiful. Thanks W! The staff was very nice & friendly. Special shout out to Eddie who served us both at the pool bar & at The Living Room. He was always friendly and made us feel special. Patrick at the Living Room was great too! I only wish he was working to witness my Chiefs win the Super Bowl ( ha)! The location of the W was perfect. You can walk to everything. I also need to give an extra special shout out to Keith from security. I spaced out & left a bag behind as I was leaving for the airport. He made sure it was returned to me. The only negative about the W is that I had to check out ( & oh yeah the elevators are slow). Do yourself a favor book now!

Yelp
I have seen more courteous front desk staff at a Burger King than at this hotel. I booked the hotel on points and secured it with my credit card on file. I called front desk prior to my arrival to allow my guest the key. I clarified that what I had provided was sufficient and they agreed. My guest arrived and was harassed for a credit card. I then seen they charged my card anyway for incidentals. I frequent the Marriott Brand wold wide and hold Ambassador status. Needless to say I will never stay here again.

Yelp
I expected a whole lot more. I've previously stayed at W Hotels and none can compare to my experience this time around. First and foremost, something so silly as that "yummy hotel smell" when you walk in- non existent. Our room was was very basic although we had ocean view and NOTHING stood out. The AC was turned off so it was humid and a funky smell when we walked in. We were not advised there's free wifi in the room so we found out by coincidence. Only two towels in the bathroom. Couch on the balcony was filthy and stained. Door handles are literally rusty which is even gross to grab. The hotel bar was closed on Saturday night and most of Sunday. Got woken up at 7AM by the room next door playing loud music with no remorse whatsoever. Smoking in the balcony to the point we had to go back inside. Called the front desk and they did nothing about it. I expected luxury, excellent customer service and attention to detail. I must add that the pool closes at 6PM and you have to play musical chairs to grab a spot, not to mention the area is tiny. So many things that are so "blah" that you don't expect when you try to stay at a 5 star hotel. Would I come back? Absolutely not... considering how pricey this hotel is. I think the experience wasn't so bad, but not worth $1,000+.

Yelp
I have never been so disgusted in my whole entire life at $500 a night actually over $500 a night. I put my legs down, walked in and to my left, looked at the bathroom floor and lo and behold. I kid you not I reached out to them, but they could not care less. It just said the precedent for my stay. I started zeroing in on corners and shower stalls and I couldn't believe my eyes.

Yelp
We've had an excellent experience considering Covid19 regulations & cool Florida weather. We loved the Central location, customer service & the amazing pool!! I felt like my soul was refreshed leaving here. Thank You W!!

Yelp
11-16-21 Came here for a Pure Barre pop up event on the same floor as the "Living Room" which is the cocktail lounge. So the class was held outside and it was a very cool and windy night. After the class and back inside we were given goody bags of samples from their Away Spa. Really nice lotions and facial cleansers. I would definitely come back to try. I personally love all W Hotels and stayed in many across the US when I travel. Also a shop that is located in the same shopping plaza as the Pure Barre had a pop up shop as well. Wonderland is now one of my favorite stores in Ft. Lauderdale that night I bought several items a Holiday towel, umbrella, and a sweater. Next my friends and I had a drink at the bar and they have a wonderful cocktail menu. Refreshing and delicious especially after a workout lol. When it comes time to leave you show your receipt to the valet for a discount. This is probably why they lost a star as other hotels at Ft. Lauderdale beach is free if you go there ie the Ritz Carlton.

Yelp
Overall the w is a nice hotel. The pool was soo busy that they didn't let people in so that was disappointing but overall nice hotel
