The 19 Best Hotels in Montreal

"Sleek, sexy, posh—words that can be overused when it comes to contemporary-style hotels, but are fitting for W Hotels' Montreal outpost. Enter through the sliding glass doors and up a short flight of stairs into the energetic lobby, and you're transported into a microcosm of the Montreal of today: an of-the-moment, diverse nexus where design lovers, food lovers, art lovers, and just plain old lovers come together. We'd be remiss not to mention the hotel's infamous bar. It's gone through a number of iterations over the years, and at its current one, Bartizen, gin flights and handcrafted concoctions take center stage. Make sure to stop here before checkout—having a drink at the W is a rite of passage in Montreal. It's a cosmopolitan, contemporary experience that would cost you two or three times as much in New York." - Isa Tousignant, Todd Plummer

W Montréal

"Why did this hotel catch your attention? Sleek, sexy, posh—words that can be overused when it comes to contemporary-style hotels, but are fitting for W Hotels' Montreal outpost. Enter through the sliding glass doors and up a short flight of stairs into the energetic lobby, and you're transported into a microcosm of the Montreal of today: an of-the-moment, diverse nexus where design lovers, food lovers, art lovers, and just plain old lovers come together. What's the backstory? The hotel is located on Square Victoria inside the old Banque du Canada building. But as we said, once you step inside, the hotel is decidedly modern. Tell us all about the accommodations. Any tips on what to book? We splurged on a "WOW" suite which was, irrefutably, a "wow moment." These bi-level suites feature sweeping park and city views, as well as a private terrace. The bed was pillowy, the shower was spacious, and while the living area's couch could've been softer (the hotel definitely chose style over comfort in that case), the overall feeling was everything one would want from a contemporary city hotel: sexy, sophisticated, urbane. We've heard the "atrium view" rooms can get a little dark, unlike the park-facing rooms, which flood with natural light. Is there a charge for Wi-Fi? Unfortunately there is a charge, except for Marriott Bonvoy members. Drinking and dining—what are we looking at? Off the lobby you'll find Tbsp., an Italian-inflected restaurant with homemade pastas, antipasti, and share plates. Thanks to the number of banks and offices in this neighborhood, there is a thriving power breakfast scene—get the boozy French toast with Grand Marnier syrup. But we'd be remiss not to mention the hotel's infamous bar. It's gone through a number of iterations over the years, from doorman-guarded nightclub, to bottle service hovel, to its current iteration, Bartizen, where gin flights and handcrafted concoctions take center stage. Make sure to stop here before checkout—having a drink at the W is a rite of passage in Montreal. And the service? It all begins with the doormen, who are adept at swooping you off the city's frigid streets and through those sliding glass doors into the lobby. The good thing about W Hotel is the emphasis on friendliness and their signature "Whatever, Whenever" approach to customer service. Have any questions about where to eat, drink and play while you're in town? The resident "W Insider" is on hand to answer all your questions, and for some reason feels infinitely cooler than other hotels' often stodgy concierges. What type of travelers will you find here? Expense accounters and Bonvoy loyalists on a business trip to Montreal. What about the neighborhood? Does the hotel fit in, make itself part of the scene? The hotel at once has an ideal yet slightly odd location in a business district, yet a short walk away from all of the city's best restaurants and neighborhoods. So you're not exactly in the middle of the action, but walk five minutes in any direction and you'll be in the action. Make sense? That being said, it occupies a prime block along Square Victoria, an ideal public space to grab a croissant and pretend you're in Europe for a minute—the Metro station, over which the hotel sits, even features a classic Art Nouveau sign like you'd see in Paris. Is there anything you'd change? As with many W Hotels, late-night noise can be an issue. But that's why the concierge has ear plugs on hand to deliver as needed. Any other hotel features worth noting? The delightfully scented Bliss bathroom amenities are the kind of things you'll definitely want to bring home—and might even pilfer from the housekeeping cart if nobody's looking. Bottom line: Why are we choosing the W? It's a cosmopolitan, contemporary experience that would cost you two or three times as much in New York. We say go for it." - Todd Plummer

"W Montreal Housed in a bank building from the 1950s, the W’s austere exterior hides a bold, brash, ultra-hip interior rich in contemporary design with a pleasingly high level of attention to detail. The signature red lobby, known as the Living Room, offers a warm, energizing hangout space with specially curated music and lighting that changes throughout the day. Rooms, freshly renovated in 2015, are spacious enough to invite a friend over for a pre-dinner drink, and they showcase that bold design aesthetic in monochrome with splashes of gold and yellow. Design, culture, and music play a significant role within the hotel, which curates various events throughout the year, such as a furniture design conference or regular Lululemon yoga sessions in the park. A popular choice for Montrealers, the W’s bar and club scene enables guests to get a taste of what’s hot in the city without ever leaving the hotel."

I just concluded what was easily one of my most memorable visits to Montreal—and it was entirely thanks to Mauricio, the W Insider at the W Hotel. I was tasked with planning a weekend filled with activities for a group of friends, and Mauricio made what could have been a stressful logistical challenge feel effortless and even exciting. From the moment I reached out, he was incredibly responsive, thoughtful, and intuitive about what would make our experience special. Every recommendation he gave—whether it was for dining, nightlife, or sightseeing—was spot-on. He curated a perfectly balanced itinerary that gave us a true taste of Montreal’s culture, energy, and hospitality. Whether it was securing hard-to-get reservations or sharing insider tips only a true local would know, Mauricio had every detail covered with a level of care and professionalism that far exceeded our expectations. What truly elevated the experience, though, was the seamless coordination between Mauricio and the rest of the W staff. From personalized welcome touches to exceptional service throughout our stay, it was clear that everyone was committed to making our time unforgettable. The level of hospitality was not only luxurious—it was heartfelt. If you're planning a trip to Montreal, I cannot recommend the W Hotel highly enough—and more importantly, make sure to connect with Mauricio in advance. His insight, warmth, and dedication transformed a good trip into an extraordinary one. My friends and I are already planning our return—and there's no question that our first call will be to Mauricio.

Half of the rooms face a wall with literally zero views. It's not even a courtyard. And the breakfast is not a buffet. The staff were very nice and do a good job, which was the best part of the stay. The location is also good. I paid way too much and got duped by the W brand into thinking this was going to be a great property.

Unforgettable Stay for a Bachelor Party at W Montreal! We recently stayed at the W Montreal for a bachelor party, and I can confidently say the experience exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly kind, professional, and accommodating. The level of service was top-tier — housekeeping and room service were always available and ensured our stay was smooth and comfortable at all times. A special shoutout goes to Mauricio, the W Insider, who truly went above and beyond. We randomly met him in the lobby where he struck up a friendly conversation — and from there, everything changed. Not only did he take time to understand our group’s vibe, but he also helped us get into a fully booked venue. Thanks to his amazing connections and expertise, we not only got in, but received exceptional VIP service that made the night one for the books. If you're planning a trip to Montreal, especially something special like a bachelor party, make sure you stay at W Montreal — and definitely connect with Mauricio. He’s a game-changer. 10/10 experience. We’ll be back!

5* Héloïse and her concierge team were amazing! Every detail was perfect! We were celebrating two milestone birthdays and I had made some special requests. Our expectations were greatly exceeded. Would highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely be back! Thank you so much for making our annual girls trip extra special this year!! The Roses from Ontario 🌹

We spent one night at the W and had an incredible experience. The staff went above and beyond—truly attentive in every way. Special thanks to Mauricio for making our stay even more memorable! Our room was upgraded and featured a beautiful view. We especially enjoyed the vinyl lounge—it was a highlight of our visit. Can’t wait to return!

I’m so glad I stayed at the W Montréal for my first time in the city. It was a great, walkable location to everything I needed - the convention center, dinners, and historic spots. Mauricio, the W Insider helped me pick out restaurants and found the perfect spot for drinks multiple times. Such a great resource. I’ll be back again!

During our 5 days at this hotel, the (only) elevator for entrance into the hotel for a wheelchair would not work. It would go down, but not up. So for our ENTIRE visit, my son could not get back into the hotel, without them dragging out a hideous long ramp 8 or 9 feet long to go up the 5 or 6 steps, that he had to try to get up in his motorized wheelchair with a couple of people pushing it along. It was incredibly inconvenient, and I also question its safety. Because of the location of the revolving door, it was difficult to get the wheelchair aligned to start up the ramp.||I can understand that any hotel could have a problem, and after he was trapped in that contraption upon our arrival, we were told it would be fixed. But we had to deal with this our entire visit. It was still not fixed when we left.||I certainly expected better service from a hotel of this caliber. At the very least there should have been a hotel manager involved daily in resolving the problem. We had 4 rooms reserved for our family of 10. Sorry, W Montreal, you will not see us in your hotel again. This speaks volume about your service to customers.

We recently stayed at the W Montreal with a group of friends for a long weekend birthday celebration, and our experience was fantastic from start to finish. Everyone at the hotel was incredibly pleasant, responsive, and professional. They took care of us throughout our stay and made us feel appreciated as guests in their wonderful hotel. They truly understand and deliver excellent customer service. Overall, the hotel itself is great, with a recently remodeled lobby space, a good restaurant (where we enjoyed a delicious breakfast every day), a “Vinyl Bar” cocktail space with a cool vibe and tasty drinks, and a solid gym in the lower floors. We stayed in a Wow Suite, which had two floors, and a two-story wall of windows overlooking a private terrace and the park. Location wise, the hotel is an easy walk to the shops and restaurants in Le Vieux Montreal. But the highlight of this trip was Mauricio, the W Montreal Insider who elevated our stay from good to amazing. He engaged with us well in advance of our arrival, learned about our birthday plans, and went above and beyond to know everyone in our group and ensure they had a special time. We’ve stayed in dozens of W hotels around the world, and Mauricio was far and away one of the best W Insiders we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. The W Montreal and its guests are incredibly lucky to have him on the team. When we come back to Montreal, there is no question that we'll be staying here!

Yelp
FANTASTIC! Wonderful, kind, staff - excellent service. Beautiful rooms (best bathtub I've ever been in)

Yelp
Loved the W! Great location. Great bar and restaurant selection right in the lobby. This W is a total vibe, especially for New Year's Eve. They host a fabulous dinner and a dance party in the lobby. This is an important aspect because I hate having to leave the hotel on NYE. It's usually hard and expensive to get an Uber so I like to have a fun party in the hotel.

Yelp
Dated. Needs an update. Love the location. Convenient to everything. BUT VERY dated.

Yelp
We stayed for 5 days and had a lovely time. We were able to get a fantastic price for the room type we had during this stay. The room was generously spacious & in a quiet corner which helped us feel more comfortable during our stay. I absolutely loved the bathtub and the Davines amenities provided. The hotel is dog friendly as well, so we had our 2 dogs with us and the staff were really wonderful and accommodating supplying items like dog bowls and toys. We weren't informed that valet parking is only available on weekends. The location was fantastic, centrally located in MTL, right across from the Metro station and small park. (Though there were some transient people a few times.) The hotel staff were accommodating, though I did misplace a bag which I realized upon check out & went to the lost and found with someone in the concierge and they said my bag wasn't there. We left, but I kept in contact with the concierge, and a few days later they found it in the lost and found. There were some suspicious things, like some bottles I had in there were replaced with bigger ones... And the dog toy which I intentionally left in the room was somehow in the bag. I'm not entirely convinced as to how it was misplaced but I am VERY thankful to get my limited-edition bag back, which I had to pay for and arrange via FedEx. Coffee in the hotel was pricey, but there's a great place around the corner. Honestly despite that, we really enjoyed our stay and we'll probably stay at this hotel again. This would have been an A+ stay had it not been for the miscommunication about valet parking and the mystery of where my bag went...

Yelp
This property was renovated recently. The bar doesn't really have a big scene and is incredibly Over priced.. The location is great, it's very close to all the things you want to see and are able to walk around weather dependent! The staff is a bit rude and not very helpful. It took almost 12 hours to remove room service trays outside our door despite asking several times! The bartenders are super friendly!! They were so nice and gave us helpful suggestions of where to go out. I would come back but hope the front desk is a little bit nicer and helpful.

Yelp
I was a little worried to stay here after reading the negative reviews on Yelp. This being said I have to disagree with the negative comments here. I was especially worried about the rooms being too loud due to the bar downstairs, but this wasn't a problem at all. First off, they close at midnight, and second we were on the 4th floor and didn't hear a thing at any point (we didn't even hear anything in the elevator). The decor is awesome and trendy and they have a bar and restaurant to grab a drink and a bite. The staff is all friendly and accommodating, and never gave us an issue no matter what we needed. They even sent up complimentary treats to help us celebrate my bachelorette party. The lobby was a cool hangout area and I love how they switch out the mats in the elevator depending on the type of day. I definitely recommend this place!

Yelp
This is a great hotel in Montreal, and especially great if you are a Marriott frequent stay program elite. Very friendly service, modern and clean rooms, everything well maintained, great location, and very comfortable. I'm particularly a fan of the "fantastic suite" which has an interesting open plan bathroom with a huge and deep freestanding tub, rainfall shower, and nicely arranged sleeping and lounging areas. The "wow suites" are interesting (bilevel, with the shower in the loft along with bed overlooking the living room), but I prefer the Fantastic due to the tub.

Yelp
Stopped into the bar for a drink after dinner. Don't get the Madison cocktail. It's vile in a way that saddens me profoundly. Tastes like a mix of children's Tylenol and cheap perfume. That's all. Also, the music here is an affront to modern civilization. This is more of a tip rather than a review.

Amanda G.

Yelp
This has to have been one of the best hotels I've been to. The staff could not be kinder or more helpful. We had an injury in our group and the staff made sure to assist in every way possible, including getting an appointment for us at a local clinic and sending up complimentary champagne and desserts. We also got stuck in MTL because every flight to our home was cancelled, and the staff couldn't have been better in helping us to find a way to get cars home. Mr. George, the driver we used, was amazing! I couldn't recommend this place enough!!
google avatar

Yelp
Right off the bat, I'm going to tell you something significant that I love about this W: they keep the "scene" out of the lobby. I'm a fan of W hotels in general, but sometimes I'm not in the mood to wade through the tragically hip (not the Canadian rock band) just to get to reception or the elevator, y'know? And I could be wrong, but I stayed here two weeknights recently and it seems the scene is regulated to the bar to the side of the elevators and possibly upstairs. The lobby (aka "Living Room") is pleasantly dark + chill and there's not a throbbing soundtrack to speak of. Back to what I love: my room here was spacious and lovely! I was upgraded for some reason (low occupancy in January, perhaps?) to some kind of dark king paradise, with gold furniture accents (including a chaise lounge big enough to fall asleep on-- THAT NEVER HAPPENED!), enough room to conduct a small yoga class and a large, curtained-off bath area with a deep deep tub and huge shower. If you've stayed at the W, you're familiar with all the Bliss bath products (wish they'd do away with the tiny bottles and just have large containers that they refill), including my favorite face scrub and the perfect hand/body lotion that works magic on my winter weather hating skin. The only thing I didn't love particularly about this W was the basement gym. Nothing inspiring about working out down there. No windows, naturally, and the most basic of equipment: 2 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, free weights and cable machine. So tiny that if there are 3 people in there, it's uncomfortable. I'm used to W gyms being top notch. Also, the lounge prices are pretty obscene. Why would anyone want to drink there when there are so many spectacular drinking establishments in the vicinity, is beyond me.

Carolyn F.

Yelp
We arrived on A Friday night and since we are in our 80's we didn't appreciate the loud DJ music atmosphere but the staff bent over backwards and put us in a private dining area and closed it off to minimize the noise . Dinner and wine was delish. Pasta and salad. Then the next day the chef made a soup for my husband who was struggling with the flu.

Yelp
Very nice rooms and great customer service. My wife and I traveled to Montreal from Dallas to get away for The Weekend and stayed here. I am a Marriott ambassador which definitely made the stay more pleasant. We had a welcome gift waiting for us in our room when we arrived ( champagne & chocolate covered strawberries). The breakfast was really good and they serve some mean drinks at the bar. The location is nice too, we ended up going to a club one night that was in walking distance. I recommend giving this place a try for sure!
google avatar

Yelp
Right in the center of Montreal. Walking distance to most sight-seeing activities. Metro line is right there if you are going further out. The bar was fun with dj's everynight. We went to the Restaurant multiple times for our long weekend. Delicioius, attentive service. Great time in a great city.

Yelp
Great hotel. Consistent with W experience that you'd expect in the states. Strongly recommend!!

Yelp
I have been a Marriott man my whole life and now that Starwood is part of the family - I have been excitedly trying out W hotels across the continent. The W Montreal is a very chill place - it is different than your traditional W hotel in that you will not the get the club like ambiance. Which depending on the day could be a good thing or a bad thing. Since I was traveling for business - it was a good thing. The hotel felt more chill or relaxed for the days that I was there. The rooms are spacious and good for fun (bring a date) or work (not fun....but the rooms are good if you need to work). Room service is fast, has a great selection and is delivered quickly. The hotel does have a restaurant / lounge connected to it - the few times I walked by early in the week it was nearly empty. I heard that it gets more full as you move out of summer. Overall - I like this hotel and would absolutely go back.

Keren C.

Yelp
This is a great hotel in an awesome, walkable location. There is a metro across the street (which you can get to from inside the hotel), the convention center is a couple blocks away, and you're no more than a 10 minute walk from Old Montreal, Notre Dame, Old Port, and Chinatown. In addition to its proximity and accessibility, the hotel itself has popular venues within it. The bar, lounge, and restaurant are right there if you're too tired from a day out but still want to have a good time. The room itself is awesome. The chaise & soaking tub are a nice touch. There's also a fully stocked minibar with everything you didn't know you needed. The gym is not that big but it isn't well frequented so you have a good selection of machines, free weights, yoga mats, foam rollers, bosu trainer, and other equipment at your disposal. All in all, I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Nice trendy hotel. Great location in Old Montreal. 1 minute to the subway station, thats great! Very nice hotel bar. Many events and happenings there. Comfortable rooms. Good design.

Yelp
Very cool hotel. I loved Bartini...the guy who works there (Dominic?) is awesome. Was there a couple of times for beer and had a great time. The hotel itself is clean and nice. Huge shower and cool soaking tub. Slight drawback was room location...if you're on the third floor and you're staying there on the weekend, you'll hear the "thump, thump, thump" from the club downstairs pretty late. I'm probably not hip enough to stay here but I still had fun.

Yelp
I have been here many times for work and I am really surprised that they put me in such a small room that I cannot even stretch. Otherwise it is a fantastic hotel , wonderful modern decor , and great service.

Yelp
Location: Great, within short walking distance to all the places we wanted to see Hotel Room Quality: Spacious rooms, wish they had a door that was separating the bathroom from the bedroom. Overall pretty nice place with a bar in the lobby area

Yelp
I love the W! I always know what to expect! The best vibes, decor, drinks, atmosphere & always in the heart of the city! The concierge knew the perfect places to recommend! The host was super attentive & complimented the resort!

Yelp
** Ok so after reviewing my photos I took and refreshing my memory, I bumped it up to 4 stars. The decor is just sex and fabulous. Very hip and modern** So from my fellow SPG members, I hear this is one of the top faves. I disagree. The hotel is beautiful! Hip, gorgeous decor and a sexy feeling but it's missing that W Hotel nightlife. It's dead here! The room is so dark it's ridiculous. I love nice dim sexy lighting but when I say dark I mean DARK. I had to request 3 stand up lamps for my suite and still couldn't properly apply my makeup. I only saw 1 little ceiling light and then the little tiny lamps on the desk. Thats it! Service is ok. I can't comment for sure if they were being rude or just look rude because of their French accent and demeanor. So I'll stay mum on that. The room service was ridiculous. I ordered pancake(s) with some toast. It was around $40 USD. When it arrived it was literally, NOT JOKING, 1 thin A** pancake (as thin as paper, swear!) cut into four pieces. A side of one toast and some fruit. I would need to order 12 of them to get full. Maybe it's just the American in me that is super-sized? Doubt it. The decor is beautiful and I had the Extreme Wow I believe (the highest suite), with my own private wrap around balcony. I have inserted pictures as well as indoor pictures. Very beautiful, just needs more lighting! SPG Customer Service when I checked out on the other hand was fantastic. They refunded me all my room service charges and gave me 10,000 points. The manager there is very hospitable. Would I stay here again? Unfortunately yes. Why you ask? Well in my opinion its the nicest hotel in Montreal. It's the most hip, centrally located and has the standard W service (I sound contradicting a bit now huh?). But since I have no plans on going back to Montreal and really didn't like the city (yup I said it...gasp!), I don't think I will be needing to make this decision.

Yelp
Great downtown hotel near Old Town Montreal. Rooms were immaculate and spacious. All of the staff are wonderful. The tbsp. restaurant offered an amazing buffet breakfast. Would happily stay here again.

Salina N.

Yelp
I've always heard great reviews about the W. This hotel was a complete disappointment. Paying $549/night to have dirty hallway floors outside my room, a broken ironing board, and a burnt restroom light. Not to mention I called for room service three times one night with no response. The view from my room was a huge curtain with birds painted on it. Such a disappointment! Luckily the city of Montreal is absolutely beautiful!!

Yelp
I just returned from a short 3 day / 2 night trip to Montreal, and of course, I stayed at the W. As usual, the desk staff was great and the concierge was friendly and helpful. Speaking of the concierge, I had a rezzy at a very popular restaurant that I needed to move at the last minute. The concierge called on my behalf and rapped with the restaurant host in French and said something about calling from the W and we were able to move the reservation - something I know I would not be able to do on my own. We stayed in a Mega room - a good sized room with a queen bed and a massive bathroom, that had a deep soak tub (the wife loved the tub). I like how there is no real wall between the bathroom and the bedroom area, just a curtain. The colors in the room are dark (grey/blue/black), but it is soothing and cave-like - perfect for relaxing and mid-afternoon naps. The great thing about this place is that there are 3 bars and a restaurant (with a patio) on premises - so there is plenty to do without having to leave the building. Also, it is chic, modern hotel on the border between the financial / shopping area (St Catherine, etc.) and Old Town Montreal - the best of both worlds. This hotel was great the last time I was here over 2 years ago, and I am happy to report that it is still fantastic.

Yelp
As title suggested, I had a VERY satisfied stay at this property. Arrived on a sold-out weekend (which is very common at this property), from the moment that I stepped in, I was instantly "in-Love" with this hotel. Check in There were only 2 clerks so there was a bit of line but it is not as bad. There are signature W drinks, Apples, and some cheesecake bites for you to enjoy during certain times of the day. Its located on the side of the Welcome Desk. Room/Suite I received Fantastic Suite. In this property there are Extreme Wow, Wow, Fantastic Suite (junior suite), Mega room (with 2 Queen Beds), and Wonderful room. Fantastic Suite is very nice. Its a junior suite with swivel TV between the living room and bedroom area. Large chiase sofa and working desk in the living room portion. I love the bedside table. Its the laminated blue color (see picture). I asked the concierge why there are so many blue color in the room. He told me the blue is the official color of MOntreal so the hotel used alot of blue to decorate. Bathroom is very big open plan bathroom (with see-through showers). There are curtain to divide the living room and bathroom area but I know this can be an issue to family. However, not an issue for me. The Bed was very clean and sheets/liens were all in the perfect condition. Pool No Pool at this property Spa/Fitness Center Located in the basement level. The "Away Spa" is located in the SS1 Floor offers some massage n facial services (no steam room / jacuzzi of this kind), due to limitation of spa facility size, there is no Bliss spa at this facility. The Gym (Sweat) is located a level below that. There are only two elevators at this hotel but only one goes down to the gym so you have to either take that elevator (on the right) or u have to go via spa entrance. Gym is equipped with modern gym facilities and its very well-kept clean. Staff/Valet The valet and staff were excellent. Most staffs were very friendly and seems like to enjoy their job. I had an issue where my aerobus driver forgot to pick me up. They were really helpful and trying to contact them for me and offer me alternative solutions to the airport. Location Located right across street from metro station (Victoria Square). Easy access to everywhere in downtown Montreal. Easy 10-15mins walk to old town Montreal. 10 mins walk to the Shopping area in Montreal too. Montreal is VERY SAFE to walk at night (I am a solo traveler and couldn't feel any safer). Overall This got to be the BEST hotel in Montreal (for young generation) and I did run into some business people who had the meetings there, and a family. They all LOVED this hotel! This hotel's occupancy rate tells you how much people love this place. If you want to have a wonderful getaway, this is the place to be! *** I have to add that Concierge Daniel was the best concierge I have met so far. He was very knowledgeable , professional yet humerus. I believe the staff /service is the big factor to make a hotel to be "good". Thanks for the good management and staffs at this property, I am very pleased and would definitely recommend this property to my friends.

Yelp
The rooms were very clean. The atmosphere was a nice vibe. Room service was on point. The bar was nice. The resturant was okay. But was still good. I would suggest the famous suit. The staff was friendly kind and caring.. the rooms are Spacious and had a nice feel. I would suggest this place for sure. Enjoyed my 4 day stay there!!!

Yelp
Amazing amazng boutique hotel. If you want to be impressed with high end decor and service this is the place to go. I spent New Years here a couple years ago and was blown away by its beauty .. I love modern decor and style and this place boasts it from head to .

Yelp
The location is perfect!! Downtown with easy accessibility. Dark and sexy when you enter. So many bars to choose from (Thursday music at Wunderbar with smooth yet exciting beats. The bartender at Wunderbar (dark hair, a bit of facial hair) really kind and a pleasure. I don't remember his name. Pasquale at Bartini is a competent and sweet soul, where the customer comes first. Josh at the front desk is delightful, helpful, informative, and sweet. It was a pleasure to see his smiling face and to deal with him daily. This place knows customer service, and Josh is an example of that. The concierges!! Thomas and Maryam were charming, fun, knowledgeable! They were honest, simply enjoyable to deal with. Everybody here is professional, makes you feel like a guest that's taken care of...but like an old friend at the same time. The room was a little funky, (cool and sexy shower. Privacy curtain, but pull the curtain back for a glass case on display if you so desire :-). These were very sweet people, at a swanky hotel, with stellar customer service! This wasn't just people doing their job...these were really great people. I cannot wait to go back and stay here.

Yelp
Typical W hotel with cheesy decor and small rooms. We stayed in a suite although I'm not sure the square feet warranted the name or price tag. The concierge didn't seem to know anything cute and local and recommended time and time again the worst places for food and drinks. I'm giving three stars because the restaurant on site is actually quite nice with good food and service.

Yelp
Swanky and very hip. It is also beautiful. I stayed here when visiting Montreal with my family. The rooms were very nice sized. I used my Starwood points to score a huge room that slept 4 of us comfortably. It is very good access to most things downtown. We walked to the Bell Center and even braved a longer walk to Liverpool House on a Friday night from here. On Friday night, it was a little loud and I could hear the bass from the club downstairs from the 7th floor. If you love being in a super hip hotel, all of that is good.

Yelp
I was recently in Montreal for a days worth of work and decided to stay at the W as I love this hotel chain. If you've never stayed at a W, it's a boutique hotel that is part of the Starwoods chain. They're all pretty modern, chic and most importantly clean. Upon arrival I was greeted by multiple people before being checked in. When I went to check in they upgraded me to a larger room. I was checked in, given my key card and I went to drop off my bags. I walked into the room and noticed it was very large. I really like the look of the rooms. There were separate rainfall shower, tub and toilet. The rooms come with a nice sized LCD television, ottoman's and a nice chair, alarm clock with an iPod docking station. Just a note that with the newer iPods, the dock may not charge it. I ordered some room service and the staff was extremely friendly! The food was ok but like most hotel food, drastically overpriced. The bar on the second floor was nice. It was dimly lit with some nice coloured lighting around the walls and candles around the tables. I wish I could give this place a 4.5 but I can't so I'm going to stick to a 4 rating. I highly recommend this place as I like it a lot more than most of the other hotels I've stayed at in Montreal.

Yelp
Most incredible service and the hotel contacted a local bakery for a birthday cake! Our concierge, Sophie, was extremely helpful as was all of the staff.

Yelp
My husband and I were vacationing in Montreal and decided to stay at the W Montreal. He has Platinum status and we were upgraded to a fantastic suite! The room was immaculate, very modern, cool features! We were very impressed! The staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was very enjoyable and anything we requested they were right on it! Thank you Olga, and Elgen, and the entire staff at the W. We appreciate everything you did for us and we look forward to staying at the W Montreal again!!!!!!!!!! The Chase's

Yelp
It is an upscale hotel but at budget prices. The W Montreal is 12 miles from Pierre Trudeau International Airport. Local attractions include Old Port of Montreal, Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal, Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, and the Olympic Stadium & Tower. The W Montreal is very sleek modern and clean. It has a fun upbeat young atmosphere. The only down side to this is if you ask for a wake up call or anything they really can't hear you the music is too loud. Guest rooms feature large windows, 350ct. cotton sheets, goose down comforters and pillows, illuminated side tables, voyeur showers, bathrobes, custom bath amenities, 27inch flat-screen TVs. Bathroom with rain shower, Bliss bath amenities, and bathrobe. Non-smoking. The hotel and rooms have a bit of a theater/ club ambiance. I loved it and would love to go back!

Yelp
The W's are my go to place. This place has such an amazing artistic flair to keep you feeling upbeat after a long day in Montreal. The staff and service were above par, visiting my room 2x per day to make sure it's always ready for me walking in. The business center was small yet useful. The workout room is very spacious, but lacking in some square footage to lay a mat down or use free weights. But overall, nice workout room.

Yelp
KID FRIENDLY & FOOD This place is considered the cool hotel so it attracted a different crowd. I've staying in 2 rooms. I was on the 3rd fl. It was great for free internet but it was not good for sleeping. I could hear the loud music and vibration from downstairs. I was told that the hotel does not own the club. They don't have set time for the loud music to end. It ends when everyone leaves. I've stayed on 9th fl. The layout was better and appear bigger. I didn't hear the loud music anymore. The free internet can't get reception on that floor though so you would need to go to the lobby. They have a children menu. My little one and I loved the homemade chicken soup. It even had a lot of chicken, carrots, celery and noodles. Plus it came with fruit and a drink for $8. The burger is good too but you may want to ask for the bun part on the side. The bread on the bottom arrived soggy. The burger was moist. I liked that fries had potato skin on it but they could have been better. It seems soggy and looked light brown. It seem like they reused it. The burger was $16. I was told delivery takes 20-30 minutes and it arrived on time. The adult menu costed about $30-$40 per entree here. I love that the hotel uses lemon scented bliss products. I love foam face wash soap. If you are part of the spg program, then you get extra points for not using the housekeeping service. The staff seems friendly and the location is walking distance to everything. To Chinatown, it was only a 15 minutes walk.

Yelp
This is the only W hotel in Montreal and it doesn't disappoint. The style and vibe of a W is taken to the next level in Montreal and creates a trendy, friendly and unforgettable experience. The staff, location and facilities can't be beat and the bars, restaurants and even room service provide unique Canadian/Québécois choices that feel like the belong at all the W hotels. If you're in Montreal and you are a fan of W Hotels then you must stay here.

Yelp
I went to Montreal for a weekend and decided to stay here for some reason. It was a debate between the W and St. James.. And I honestly wish I chose St. James. The only thing that I liked was the glass shower, the location and the staff. The room service was good too. The decor was not really my style. The crowd at night is too rowdy.. I guess this hotel is too hip for me. If you're going to stay in Montreal, my recommendation would be St. James or Hotel Gault.

Yelp
Great hotel with a very hip vibe. It was almost as if I walked in from the streets of Montreal into a Vegas hotel. The room I had was fantastic. Oversized reading chair. Wild bathroom with a soaking tub, walk in shower, mirrors, concrete countertop, HUGE! Perfectly quiet, comfortable, and the lighting added to the level of relaxation. The second level lounge was another great surprise. An illuminated bar with a fallen leaf theme. Talented and experienced bar staff with a good combination of quality spirits and a few WOW bottles. The staff was the true standout. From the moment I check in, the doorman remembered my name. Not because I gave him a $50 tip (because I didn't), but because it really seemed like he cared. Made me feel like I was at my father's country club, minus the snobbery. Checking in at the front desk was easy, quick, and professional. Tips and suggestions from the front desk and concierge, again outstanding. Had dinner at the restaurant at the bar, followed by a late lunch the following day. Hostess remembered me, greeted me with a great smile - "welcome back". Great location. Couple blocks to St. Catherine. Couple blocks to Old Port. Easy getting to from Pont Champlain. Can't say enough good things about this hotel.

Yelp
Great hotel. New, cool design in the lobby and the rooms are very big and clean. The combination of colors they choose for the rooms it's awesome. We'll visit again.

Yelp
The staff here is superb, friendly, and flexible even with a sold out hotel. The decor and space is very nice both in common areas and within rooms. The location is very good as you can walk to the places you need to be within 15 minutes around the city. Wonderful hotel, highly recommend.

Yelp
I came here just to spend a good night with my parents and sister. I really liked the decor, the drinks are ok, and the music was mainly 90s-early 2000s hip hop. However, the people weren't the youngest so it might not be the ideal party place for anyone younger than 28.

Yelp
We stayed at the W Montréal during a quick holiday getaway this past December. The location of the hotel was convenient to the major tourist destinations of Montréal (walking distance to Notre-Dame). The hotel was very modern, updated and clean. We enjoyed dinner at Êat / Être Avec Toi (which is the restaurant located in the hotel) on the first night. There are clubs in the hotel and you can slightly hear the music in your room, so if that kind of stuff bothers you; I would stay elsewhere. We didn't really care for our view of the atrium, but the tub in our room made up for it. We still miss that tub to this very day. If you're in Montréal, do yourself a favor and stay here.

Yelp
There is only one reason why I didn't give 5 stars. I will explain at the very end of this review. My husband and I have stayed at the W in our past travel including NYC, Hong Kong, Sydney and many more. Yes, we have always been a fan. However, on our recent trip to Montreal we almost opted out of staying at the W. We thought we would stay at a hotel more classic, less trendy sort of thing. So happy we stay true to our long term love. You are everything you claimed to be. Whenever, Whatever, and more......... The main reason our experience was so wonderful at the W, Montreal can be describe by one word, The Staff! They are so professional and helpful. We check in and immediately got upgrade to this amazing loft apt style suite (starwood points! yeah!) Concierge recommandations on dining option (based on our taste) was point on! There was nothing we didn't enjoy in Montreal and I must credit most of it to the staff at the W hotel. **** negative experience at the "Away Spa" (more like a constructive criticism) My husband and I both decided to get a massage one afternoon to give ourselves a break from amazing food and shopping. My husband said his experience was up to par and mine was, hummm.....how should I put it .... Terrible!!!! We had two different massage therapists. My therapist really do not know what she was doing. During the massage, I asked the therapist three times (politely) she can apply more pressure. She acknowledged but nothing happened! This is the only massage I ever had that made me feel worse after the treatment. I felt very cheated by this particular therapist. She needs additional training!

Yelp
Best hotel I ever stayed at. Great staff - staff are all beautiful :) . front desk made sure a staff check the room before we entered. Great cheeky decor - The room was extremely spacious. Great bed. Awesome bathroom. Cons - you can still smoke when I was there two years ago. So it wasn't that much fun at the bar.

Yelp
I was not a guest at the hotel but I did visit the bar. It was a ton of fun! The bartenders were really pleasant despite being busy and the DJ was awesome. Loved the door staff and the woman in coat check. Cool mix of a crowd, as you often find at hotel bars. The decor was really swanky. I'll be back!

Yelp
Great Hotel w/ really nice rooms. Problem is, you can't sleep. All I have to say is avoid anything below the 4th floor. I had to be awake at 5 am for a flight and the club was obnoxiously booming til at least 2 am. Beyond that, all sorts of annoying people were running around all night. Granted, that's not the hotels fault. The reason I gave it 2 stars is because I *barely* complained when I checked out and the girl at the front desk could not have cared less. How about a little acknowledgment? Maybe take off that overpriced room service from the other day? Meh... It's important to note that I'm writing this at 5:38 in the morning, on my way to the airport...
