Playful luxury meets underwater fantasy — W Xiamen is WOW at every turn From the moment I arrived at W Xiamen, I knew this wasn’t going to be your typical luxury hotel stay — it was so much more. Bold, playful, design-forward, and so in touch with Xiamen’s local soul, this hotel completely blew me away. The theme is underwater meets the egret, inspired by Xiamen’s old name “Egret Island” — and the concept is woven into every detail. From the lobby (called the “Soundscape”) that feels like an artful underwater scene, complete with fisherman’s nets hanging from the ceiling, to the adorable egret mascots (yes, even the mascots are on-theme!), the hotel fully embraces the spirit of the island. It’s whimsical yet refined. I enjoyed both cocktail hour and the FUN NOW afternoon tea at the Soundscape — super creative and vibrant presentations, and drinks that tasted as good as they looked. The vibe here was equal parts artsy and energetic. And let’s talk about my suite — the Corner Suite. Absolutely perfect. Not overwhelmingly large, but beautifully designed with just the right amount of space to feel cozy yet elevated. The escape mural on the wall added an artsy punch, and I adored the custom W plushie in the form of a Chinese dice — such a fun, local touch! Views of the sea from the suite were gorgeous, especially in the morning light. The dining options were equally impressive: – NINE served up one of the most expansive and delicious buffet breakfasts I’ve had in China. Everything from local Minnan dishes to international classics — plus I returned for dinner buffet and was equally blown away. – HEAT, the rooftop bar next to the pool, was such a vibe — sultry, energetic, and with incredible cocktails. It’s definitely one of the best spots in town for a stylish night out. – The WET rooftop pool is massive and stunning — and indoor, which makes it usable year-round. Feels like a luxury resort floating above the city. Fitness and wellness are next level here. The gym is huge, fully equipped, and open 24/7 — a dream for any fitness enthusiast. And then the AWAY Spa... I had the Bubble Tea Massage, which was not only relaxing but came with actual bubble tea to sip and inspired ingredients for the massage. So creative, so W. The design of the rooftop — inspired by an Egret’s house — is another great example of how W Xiamen turns architecture into storytelling. Every floor, every corner has meaning and artistry behind it. What I love most is that while this is a super high-end, luxury stay, it never feels cold or exclusive. The energy is young, fresh, and welcoming — a luxury hotel where you can truly have fun, no matter your age. If you love vibrant design, thoughtful local themes, and playful elegance, W Xiamen is where you need to be.

A really super hotel with great staff. Couple of nights here. Easy parking, comfy rooms with some amazing artwork, helpful friendly staff and delicious food. We tried the various restaurants, dinner buffet had a wide variety to choose from as did breakfast. Chinese restaurant was very well done, lots of detail to presentation and using local flavours. Afternoon tea was a lot of fun especially the service of the chocolate bottle of sparkling mocktail. The pool looks great (as do all W pools) and the gym has a super variety of equipment to muscle building as well as aerobic training.|There’s a shopping mall connected to the hotel is conveniently accessible without going outside. |Well worth a visit to this hotel and we plan to return

Greatest thx for Joanna & her impressive team to show how amazing W Xiamen is for the stay.||My parents spend an unforgettable night here for their 50 anniversary wedding memorial. Not only enjoy the tasty & delicate Chinese dishes in MinYen(on 3rd floor) Restaurant ,but also experience almost every famous local food at Nine Restaurant (on 5th floor) for the breakfast. ||By the way, however the decoration & interior are so trendy in every details of the hotel,but still feel full of the hospitality & passion from every stuff. It's not easy,but W Xiamen make it by the efforts of every stuffs.||Don't hesitate , make a booking now then set off for a joyable trip & experience the warmest hospitality in W Xiamen.

Hotel rooms and facilities are very good. Breakfast food quality is very average and not worthy of the W Hotel standard. W Hotel Xiamen needs to do a better job in offering rotating breakfast items for the guests. The croissants taste like bread and lack the buttery flavor. Room service menu is not very good so I have to order take out from nearby restaurants. Cocktail quality is not good at both the Wet Bar and Lobby bar because they are watered down.

Pros.|- Full of light and colour show everywhere with trendy pop music|- The best equipped gym with Technogym ever at 36th floor with stunning view of city, ocean and sunset|- Huge breakfast buffet area and choices|Cons.|- The service was good but not as great as Hyatt Andaz in Xiamen with similar price level (not 150% customer oriented)

I've stayed at the W Xiamen multiple times, the staff here is simply amazing. The breakfast & dinner buffet has plenty of options, from western to local. The gym is pretty big and overlooks a giant swimming pool. You can spoil yourself at the Spa or head to the 35th floor for some club action. ||The staff has made several of my stays at the W special. From helping me surprise my fiancée on her birthday, roses and cake with balloons and decorations to restaurant recommendations. Leaving notes of encouragement to keep hitting the gym and mirror drawings that make you feel valued. ||There are plenty of restaurants in the local mall, along with a grocery store. ||Staying at the W Xiamen is a great experience and I always look forward to my business trips. ||
