Wabi Sabi

Had a nice little lunch here by myself! There have lunch specials but I didn't get it this time around. I got a Spicy Tonkotsu ramen and it was very yummy and a simple crab meat roll. Both were excellent and fresh and exactly the pick me up I needed! I wanna come back and try more from the menu!

If you need a quick ramen and sushi fix, this place can do it. You don't need to go somewhere trendy and over price. Wabi Sabi food is tasty and reasonably priced. I've tried the shoyu and tonkotsu ramen and various nirgir and maki. They were all delicious.

THIS IS THE MOST UNDERRATED RAMEN PLACE IN CHICAGO!!! So good, you have to order the spicy garlic miso ramen and shrimp tempura rolls. One of the best rolls I have ever tried. I cannot stop eating from here 🤣🤣🤣

Incredible food! The ramen and the steak we ordered were outstanding! I've had bad experiences recently with steaks with teriyaki sauce because they've been extremely sweet. However, in this place the sweetness balance was just perfect, and the steak was perfectly cooked. The ramen was seriously good, a great flavor. Highly recommended

The vibe of this place is so cozy. ➤ I come here all the time! The employees are always kind and attentive. ● The food is astounding! My go-to meal is the Spicy Garlic Miso Ramen, my favvv! It's so good, and it's definitely spicy. ➤ If you want something spicy, warm, and bold... try their bold ramen. When I tried it, I loved it so much. ■ Everything in this restaurant has such a rich & pure taste. I will always stay loyal to this restaurant! It's one of my favorites in Chicago.

We got the Lava Rocks <-- Absolutely recommended and must eat there (they'd get soggy otherwise). Double Unagi roll, Negi Saba roll, Spicy Garlic Ramen, and Seaweed salad. The hot jasmine tea was very fragrant. It's a lovely sushi spot and free parking on Sundays!

The ramen was pretty tasty. I got the Spicy Garlic Miso ramen and my boyfriend got the Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen. Both very flavorful broths, I would stick with the spicy garlic miso though. Crab rangoons were big in size but lacking something in their taste profile. Sushi was really fresh and had an amazing ratio of fish to rice! We love that. Customer service was quite awesome!

If you're a fan of ramen, then you simply must check out this hidden gem in town that serves the best ramen I've ever had. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with a warm and cozy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The menu boasts a wide variety of ramen options, each with its own unique twist and flavor profile. The broth is rich and flavorful, and the noodles are cooked to perfection. Trust me, you won't be disappointed if you give this place a try.

This restaurant is just amazing. We've been ordering delivery from them since we moved here in June. The Yaki udon is amazing and so are their egg rolls. The ramen is also so great! The staff is kind and appreciative of the business. They had an issue with a delivery driver one day and they were helpful and apologetic. Their prices are also reasonable so if you're looking for an excellent meal that isn't super pricey then you can find it here. This will continue to be one of our go-to restaurants while we live here.

Ramen was not very good. I got the spicy tonkotsu and my friend got the spicy garlic miso. Both of our broths were decent but the pork, egg, bamboo, and other add-ins were cold. However, the service was exceptional. Our waiter was so kind and thoughtful, and offered us additional candies at the end! She went out of her way and did not rush us to leave even though closing time was coming soon. Parking was easy to find even on a Saturday night. Restaurant has booths and regular seating.

Black garlic ramen Soup comes out extremely quick. But flavor wise is sad. Has the garlic flavor for sure but compared to other ramen the broth is not very hearty, much more on the watery side. Lacks a lot of depth and flavor very disappointing. Also egg came a bit overcooked. Gyoza Nice crispy light outside. Some gyoza from other places can come out tougher and chewy. Great appetizers to get me ready for my meal Wabi Sabi Maki fresh and light but still full of flavor! Very pleased with this dish. Also a fan of the presentation

The ramen was okay, nothing to write home about. It definitely doesn't compete with High Five or Akahoshi or even Wasabi. The staff was friendly and prompt. The restaurant itself was small, but comfortable. I was the only one in there around lunch.

I went here for a late night dinner. The chef and waiter were very helpful I got the Cha-Shu Bowl, and my friend got the Tonkotsu Ramen. The portions were huge, and the food was amazing. It's definitely a good place to go!

Best ramen in the city! Bar none. Service was attentive and friendly. The place is small but clean and tidy; usually best for to-go orders but I enjoy eating their ramen on site. You really don't know how good something is until you've had other experiences. I first tried their ramen 3 years ago and found it okay. After eating ramen at a few other establishments and coming back to this one-their broth is the best ! Their spicy garlic ramen hit the spot. Perfectly spicy! They don't shiest on their broth amount or noodle amount either. It's as close to authentic as you can possibly get ! They were also very generous in their tapioca serving when asked for extra. Their sushi is also bangin' too! Top notch!

Solid choice for ramen! Food comes out quickly with a warm smile/friendly service. Classy and clean dining room if you dine in. Price is right! It's a treasure to find a gem like this one, will be back!

So unprofessional. Open and refused to serve my family and I. Called before arrival to let them know we were coming, was not closing time yet. The manager that works there was very rude. Will not go back ever!!

Horrible service! The lady "manager" that was there told us they were only doing ToGo orders because they were closed when clearly their hours of service was till 9:30, we got there at 8:50pm and she was so rude! And refused to sit us down!!!

Hits the spot, I was craving ramen and it was so good. My GF loved the sushi rolls. Service was so fast & good prices. Will come again.

Food is usually good here and my family and I always come but today they refused to serve us because we didn't make it in time but we made it before the kitchen closed. The manager there was being rude and refuse to serve us after we called and they said we can go and make it in time. She had a horrible attitude towards us and basically started shooing us out.

Y'all!! Ah Dios mio!!! I am a changed woman!! After 8 years of being a Chicago resident and a stubborn headed woman who claimed to "not like ramen". I have been cured from this curse!! I do like ramen, I actually LOVE ramen!! This place has changed me! I opted for the Spicy Garlic Miso Ramen and WOW!!! It was amazing! A tad bit spicy for me. But amazing!! We also ordered a crunchy spicy tuna roll, gyoza and crab Rangoons for the table!

Let me start off by saying I hadn't been here since before 2020 when everything shut down. For over three years I've been dreaming of their Lava Stone appetizer and I finally got to go back this weekend to indulge. Happy to report I was not disappointed. We started off with their Lava Stone, Gyoza, and Shumai. All delicious! For the maki rolls, we enjoyed the Godzilla, Chicago, and Crunchy Spicy Tuna. The only one we probably wouldn't order again is the crunchy spicy tuna, just cause we weren't fans of the tempura topping - but once we removed it, it was delicious. Finished off with some of their Taro milk boba and ... yum! Service is fast and friendly. They don't hover over you, but make sure you have what you need. The restaurant itself is small, but clean. They were playing some throwback jams which was super fun to listen and sing along to. Overall, an excellent visit and we can't wait to go back!

The sushi was great. Tried the Chicago Maki and had good flavor but I personally don't like deep fried sushi but I enjoyed this one. Their spicy shrimp roll was fantastic. I kept hearing people order Ramen so I will be back to try it for sure! Service was good too which is a plus nowadays.

Been coming here for years and I love it! Always delicious and never disappointing. I got the avocado mango and tuna rolls and the curry ramen! Mmmm sooo good!

First time, went to try the samples they offered during Taste of Irving Park. Really likes the Taro drink, it was not overly sweet and very refreshing. The ramen was good, that's one of the dishes they're known for. The people working there were very friendly, make sure we have each of the samples to try, even gave an extra and smiled about it. I believe it's locally owned. From the looks, the people working here seemed to know each other very well as they worked seamlessly. Because we went during a food festival, I don't know what the place is like on a regular night, but the place feels relaxing overall.

Nice bowl of spicy tonkotsa ramen. Filling and flavorful. Perfect heat and pork was tender and tasty. Dining room was clean and comfortable. Service was a little slow and tough to find parking.

The best deal! They have a lunch special of 2 rolls for 11.95 and 3 rolls for 13.95 which includes miso soup. So we got two rolls of spicy tuna and hamachi rolls. They were pretty good for the basics! I had the spicy garlic miso and added extra fungi and it was delicious. Perfect for the weather and so affordable. I could eat this ramen every day. The boba pearls were a little too chewy for us and the mango didn't taste fresh. But the service and food was a great experience so highly recommend! Sushi, ramen, and boba for two under $50? That's a steal!

Came here on a Thursday night and had a really nice time. Thankfully they take reservations so I knew we would be seated when we showed up, even though when we got there, they were not excessively busy. I'm so used to going to ramen joints that don't take reservations and end up having to wait outside for 20-40 mins, so this was a nice change! We ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen and the spicy garlic miso ramen and both were very tasty! I'm so glad to have found this place which has good customer service and good ramen, I can't wait to go back! Also, the taro milk tea was soooo good too, although I barely had any room left for it after eating my ramen lol.

There is a lot of competition for delicious food along Kedzie in Albany Park. Wabi Sabi has been a consistent stand out for the past several years. They have sushi, ramen, and a few other noodle and rice dishes. The sushi is great, but the ramen is the real stand out. Wabi Sabi offers several different flavors and levels of spice with ramen. The black garlic, spicy tonkatsu, and spicy garlic are my favorites. The ambience with Wabi Sabi is communal and warm. It is one of my favorite places to visit in the winter. The booths are spacious and cozy.

The Slender, elegant, Japanese eatery has a wonderful ramen and sushi selection. The bowls of ramen were carefully prepared. Al dente noodles, tender pork belly, creamy yolky egg, plenty of vegetables.... there was so much food, it seemed to be a never ending bowl of ramen. It was perfect food for a cold night.

The food is OK, not the best but not the worst. Despite this statement, they have increased their prices over the years and customer service has also plummeted. We ordered for delivery and it took them 1 hr and 40 min to deliver. When we called after 1 hr and 20 min later to find out where our food was, no apology on their behalf. We're not ordering from this place again.

Showed up at 1 pm on a Monday. Ramen had a lot of body and flavor to it. Also had the pink lady maki and it tasted very fresh. Edamame was great. And the Gyoza was the best I've ever had.

Yummy ramen! Tried the spicy garlic ramen and it was delicious! Not too spicy. Small and clean restaurant that is also byob!

We had the black garlic ramen and the spicy garlic ramen. Both were fantastic. The broth was rich, the pork was perfectly cooked and the noodles had the right bite to them. We were disappointed that they no longer serve bubble tea and look forward to trying the sushi next. This area of Albany Park is rich in wonderful ethnic restaurants and grocery stores. The prices here were right and the service excellent. We'll be back.

Greetings my Foodzies, it's been a while but here we go. Today's restaurant is Wabi Sabi at 4720 n Kedzie Ave, Chicago. This is a Korean cuisine restaurant, it's a small quaint restaurant. Booth and table seating. Upon entry we were invited to sit wherever we liked. We chose table seating. Our server Stephy was very polite and friendly. We started out with edamame and Tako balls. Edemame are Japanese soybeans that are boiled and topped with sea salt. Tako balls are octopus balls with mayo topped with dry shaved bonito, it was an interesting experience. The octopus was a little tough though. We also tried the pork bun, basically it was a doughy bun with Japanese pulled pork and scallions and cilantro. The sauce was a little salty but it was tasty. For entrees we went with Chicken teri rice Don, grilled chicken with teriyaki sauce over a bed of rice. The chicken was grilled nicely and the teriyaki sauce was flavorful nicely. Tonkotsu ramen, pork bone soup, egg noodles, pork belly, soft boiled egg, sesame, bamboo shoots sprouts. Basically a large bowl of soup, I found the soup for some reason to be fishy and it was a little bland. Black garlic ramen, the same above only with black garlic. Didn't really taste the garlic though. Lastly Teriyaki ribeye steak covered in teriyaki sauce with broccoli and onions with a side of rice. Steak was cooked nicely, a little heavy on the sauce but that mixed with the rice and vegetables was perfect. Steak was thin it would have been nice to have a little bigger steak. They also have a wide variety of drinks. All in all it was a nice experience. I'll give it 3 1/2 stars. Try it out and let me know what you think. Ciao Ciao for now.

We got lucky finding this cute sushi spot in Albany Park! My fiancé and I came in on a weekday night just for some sushi and landed at this spot on a whim. We got sat right away and sat at the window. Our server was prompt and helpful and took our orders right away. The food came out so fast and all of it was extremely tasty! Most of the sushi rolls come in 5-8 pieces. I ordered the crab Rangoon, shumai. passion maki, butterfly maki, spicy salmon roll, and the bold ramen soup. Highly recommend trying the shumai because the sauce was unique and delicious! We also got mango peach and mango bubble smoothies. Everything was about $70 and I will definitely love to order take out from them soon!

Ramon was SO good. I had the pink lady maki, very much recommend!! Place is clean and the service was great. Highly recommend!

The best Ramen and Smoothies I have tried in Chicago, The place is kind a small but the atmosphere is very enjoyable, the food is prepared very quickly and all the stuff have a wonderful attitude,

This hit the spot! Perfect spice perfect noodle the pork was melting in you mouth. the eggs was silky.The broth was rich in flavor ....... We also had dragon maki which I couldn't take a picture cause my 7 years old just start devouring it, I had one pc and it was amazing !

We absolutely love this restaurant and they have every one of our favorites items - Snowball / Lava Stone / Tako Balls / Veggie Tempura / Ramen / Pork Buns - etc. BUT... the past four delivery orders in a row have been wrong. We would gladly keep coming to Wabi Sabi but it's a damn headache having to call and deal with the staff due to incorrect orders. I believe the owner's name is "Jamie." Jamie... you need to improve your delivery.

Wabi Sabi gave me a new, higher standard when it comes to eating Japanese food. To start, the restaurant is very nice and cozy. The staff are very kind and attentive to their customers. For the night, I choose to eat the Spicy Garlic Ranen which was very well assorted with pronounced, savory flavors (Caution to those risk takers who are eating spicy ramen for the first time because it was indeed "spicy ") The egg rolls were absolutely amazing, never had anything like it. I would for sure recommend Wabi Sabi.

My heart and stomach (lol) says Kitakana Ramen, but I didn't feel like driving 23 miles to Arlington Heights for Ramen since this is 3 miles from home. Wabi Sabi is @ 4720 N Kedzie just south of Lawerence Ave on the west side. We went there and the place was empty except me, Da wife and the person working there. We sat there for awhile and asked for a menu. We both ordered Ramen she got the Tonkotsu Ramen and I got the Spicy Garlic Miso Ramen both had pretty good pork bone broths. The difference is mine was spicy. It was good but a little spicy even for me. * Tonkotsu Ramen was actually better it had a pretty good pork bone soup broth, Black fungus mushrooms, bamboo shots, 1/2 soft boiled egg, green onions, Berkshire pork belly and egg noodles * Spicy Garlic Miso Ramen - same Pork bone soup broth, but spicy w/miso base, Berkshire pork bellies, 1/2 boiled egg, scallions, sesame, bamboo shoots, garlic, chili oil & black fungus mushrooms very good, but a little spicy. The ramen at Wabi Sabi was pretty tasty, reasonably priced and a lot closer to home then Kitakana

The atmosphere in the restaurant was good and clean. Their milktea is good, but maybe lack of sweetness to some people. I tried oolong milktea and brown sugar boba milktea. I like it. My bf likes the ramen, it's not too salty like some ramen places,. The shrimp tempura was crunchy. One thing to improve is their tuna tartar. I believe when people try a meat tartar they expect it was cut in small pieces, not grounded. The same thing happen to this tuna tartar, the spicy tuna in it was okay but was finely grounded. I personally want it to have more seaweed salad to give it a refreshing taste, not just a lot of tempura cruch.

First of all they were very welcoming and warm towards my two toddlers. Even the sushi chef waved to my two year old when she was checking out the welcoming cat cat. Tonight was our second time here and both times the food was really good. I had the classic tonkatsu both times. I swear my kids just ate more of their dinner here than they ever do at home. They loved the shiitake roll, and the wakame salad as well as little bites of our food. Good times. Good food. What more can you ask for?

One of our Albany Park go-to spots! We have mainly gotten the ramen, but we've tried many types-- if it says spicy, they MEAN SPICY. :) Fyi. They're accurate, on time, and give you super full bowls of ramen with the broth on the side if you order take-away. Their eggrolls are also good, and the pork buns are okay-- yummy fillings, but not as much, so the bun-to-filling ratio is a little dry.

Great sushi and ramen! Their food is consistently good when I've found other sushi places can sometimes not hold up. I love their Mexican roll as well as Tiffany. Also get the lava stones. Absolutely delish!!

Decided to try this place out after someone had recommended it to me and it's not too far from where I live. Had a great experience. Staff was incredibly friendly. Ordered the spicy garlic miso ramen, lava stone, sashimi and every dish was delicious. Would come back again.

Was in the neighborhood for work. This is a solid place for ramen--usually not very busy, and delivers solid ramen for about $12. A bit out of the way for me but really hits the spot of my ramen craving.

Very impressed with the spicy ramen! My daughter had the Sushi which was tasty and well presented. Street parking is busy and pay bit we found a spot pretty fast.

This used to be our go-to spot for sushi and the ramen was always good. However to say we were disappointed with our last order is an understatement. The sushi proportion and what they gave for a regular roll was ridiculous. For example the size of the roll is smaller than an AirPod. Unfortunately we will not be coming back.

Experience: Wabi Sabi is in the busiest part of Albany Park. Walking down Kedzie will allow one to go through many different cultures in a short amount of time. As for the restaurant, staff was very professional and was seated very quickly. Note that we came during off hours and the during the week. Parking: It seems to be only PAID street parking. If there is free parking, I didn't see it. Worth: Yes, definitely worth the visit. Food was good and reasonably priced. We ordered a couple rolls (Godzilla and dinosaur) and Tonsaku Ramen (As pictured below) and certainly did not disappoint!

We were craving some ramen saw that I was here four years ago and wanted to try it again. Salmon sashimi was fresh chilled perfectly. Black garlic ramen was rich and flavorful delicious.

Ordered take out and the food was hot and tasty by the time it made it home. Food was ready at pick up and packaged well. Spicy Miso delicious!!!

One word: BOBA !!! The boba here tasted so yummy, so homemade, so chewy. I got the matcha late with boba. My friend got mango tea with boba (it has mango chunks). They were both delicious. We're 100% coming back for more!

My husband and I thought the Ramen and sushi was really good! The service was great and the place has a good vibe when you first walk in. 4 stars just because I have a favorite Ramen joint.
