Palestinian Food’s Next Wave | Eater

"A gourmet Palestinian restaurant whose Arabic name means “chaos,” set inside a stone‑walled courtyard beside a cobblestone outdoor market, where the chef sources ingredients daily from nearby butchers, bakeries, and spice shops. Trained in Paris and London before returning to his ancestral hometown, the chef works with time‑honored local products—freekeh, nearby-farmed lamb, and musakhen—and reinterprets them with modern techniques while keeping the dishes’ identities intact. Examples include a reimagined musakhen served as a cold appetizer of chicken liver-and-heart pâté garnished with onion-and-sumac compote on mini taboon flatbreads, freekeh used as a base for cold seasonal salads, and lamb persuaded to be cut as fillets to star in a meticulously planned three-course dinner. The overall approach champions locally sourced and locally made Palestinian products, favoring generous, home-style portions and creative temperature and presentation changes rather than fusion or minimalist plating." - Shira Rubin

Great food and amazing service. The whole staff was extremely friendly and added little touches that made the meal a great experience. The food was also very tasty. I recommend the soft boiled egg. Finally, the cocktails were the classics, but prepared with much care and attention to detail. I can't wait to go back!

Wonderful summer lunch! We live upstairs in Paris and one day would like to have a try in this lovely restaurant because it’s quite beautiful. It turns out to be amazing! I really like their way to use vegetables in hot summer. Dessert is also amazing, perfectly using peach in this season. One of the best restaurants we’ve been in Italy and France.

Lovely atmosphere. Nice range of choices of recipes with interesting layers of tastes. Every couse was marvelous from amusant bouche to dessert. Scallops with an Asian twist and the beef dishes were sensational. Wonderful service. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience

Wadja in Paris served an incredible meal. I ordered the hanger steak with roasted potatos, unbelievable carrot purée, and pickled vegetables. The staff and wine were also wonderful. I strongly recommend to anyone.

I had dinner here recently and left with mixed feelings. The food was ok, but not more than that. I expected more based on the glowing reviews here. A word of warning - they offer several wines per glass in the wine card, priced at 8-9€ per glass. However, the waitress made a suggestion (without mentioning the price) for a ‘very nice wine’. When the bill came it was clear why the suggestion - 15€ for a glass of wine. The wine was definitely not worth the price and the trick was really cheap. I will not be returning, although I am often in Paris.

Wonderful restaurant near the Luxembourg Gardens. We’ve eaten there twice and been delighted both times by the delicious food and friendly, attentive service. The food is great; the menu has a good variety of choices and the prices are reasonable for the portions and taste! We weren’t crowded in like in many other Paris restaurants. The food is very French but lighter than in a typical bistro. Both times the only other diners were locals—a sure sign of a good meal. Definitely try it. You won’t be disappointed!

Yelp
We arrived in Paris late in the afternoon on a Wednesday. We were staying at a small hotel on a side street. Fortunately, there were two really good restaurants close by - one next door and this one across the street. We opted for this one (since the other one was closed). It was no more than a hole in the wall, but in classic French bistro style, it had really outstanding food offerings. Every dish our group of five ordered was first-rate and delicious. The wine list focused on 30 euro bottles (with exceptions - it's Paris) and it was certainly more than adequate. While it did not matter to us, the menu was a bit meat-centric. If eating vegan or vegetarian is important, a perusal of the menu before committing is in order. Suffice it to say that we would go back in a New York minute, but oddly, it seemed to be closed on the weekends (so check ahead).

Yelp
Food was fantastic, BUT BEWARE - We were told at the end of the evening on my birthday that the Credit card machine was suddenly out of order and were forced to pay cash, along with all the other Americans, so plan to bring only cash. We went right to our hotel and called our bank and checked the financial services, no problem anywhere this was totally b.s. Had this happen in one other Paris place, new scam as they do not want to pay the Visa or MC fees. So stay away unless you really want to go through the hassle.

Yelp
Minutes from Montparnasse and Jardin du Luxembourgs. The food is great, so is the decor. I love the drawings on the walls. The service is a la French (don't expect a smile, or ice in your Coke) - but that doesn't bother me : I'm French!

Yelp
This is a very authentic and very delicious neighborhood bistro, a rarity in most parts of Paris today. There is a set menu for 40 EUR (entrée, plat, dessert) and for the quality of the food on offer, it's a steal. It's true, the service can be brusque, but it's very professional and as the French would say "correct." The wine list is full of bottles for around 30 EUR that are of high quality. Do not miss the crepe filled with cardamom eggplant (!!) and a tangy orange sauce: it will be one of the best desserts you ever eat. This is not a place for vegetarians, but there are usually quite a few fish dishes on offer.

Yelp
I am not sure who the servers were for these other reviewers, but I found them quite charming. The food is excellent and he ambiance is great as well. Once a week I eat here and the menu is rarely the same. Perhaps the people who frequent Wadja don't write here, but I often see the same people there, so they obviously have loyal customers.
