Waffle House

Do not visit this Waffle House. This location in Armadillo, TX was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. The customer service was extremely poor. Our waitress, Lenisha, took our drink order but never brought the drinks. We received some of our food but were still missing drinks, and when I asked about them, she rolled her eyes and gave an attitude. It then took an additional 10 minutes, and we were still missing items. We were also missing five waffles from our order, and while we waited, the food that was ready sat out and became cold. The waitress appeared disengaged and made no effort to resolve the missing items. On top of the service issues, the location smelled like urine, which made the experience even worse. Overall, the lack of service, long delays, cold food, and cleanliness concerns made this a very frustrating experience. I would not recommend this location. We were slightly compensated for the horrible experience, but even if they gave us the food for free, I would not go back.

Food is pretty good, it is Wafflehouse. The service is great, tboae ladies are amazing. But this location, they really need to fix the bathrooms. They smell of sewer terribly and it lingers into the restaurant. Weve been traveli g through Amarillo for the last 8 years, often staying in the hotel next door so its convenient, but the wafflehouse has never fixed these bathrooms and theyve been like this for years. Clearly a plumbing problem. The lack of building maintenance is 100% a management issue that needs addressed. The staff is great.

Everytime I go here I have excellent service. A waitress there named Tiffany is always helpful, and makes me feel at home. They have an excellent cup of black coffee

Visiting Amarillo we found this Waffle House close to our hotel on Thurs. Nov. 5th. Ordered two meals with coffee. After waiting for a little over an hour, I got just part of my order, didn't get the ordered coffee, my wife's order never came at all. Waitress seemed to be disorganized and loud. Antics were entertaining at first but quickly wore off the longer we waited. Cook visited our booth and retook the order, which also never came. We started talking to the people in the next booth and they were having the same trouble. After expressing our displeasure, what little we did get was comped. Worst-experience-ever.

If you like your waffles burnt like this then this is your place. I know I won’t stop at this one ever again!!!

Just bought dinner after a 6 hr drive. The waitress wasn't very nice, and looked like she was on something. The cook was ok, not very talkative, however I got the cheese steak melt plate with chunked, covered, peppered, and fixed hashbrowns. Got half an order of burnt plain hash browns. I would not recommend this place. pick a different waffle house. Paid 70 bucks for that.

Travelers beware! This place should be condemned. I would have given this place a zero, but it wasn’t an option. This place was so filthy . The tables were dirty, floors, chairs, benches and the grill they were cooking on was burnt, which made the food have pieces of burnt chips in it. The worker were dirty as well. If you are ever in Amarillo TX do not stop here. Even if they give the food away for free, I would run from this place. This is the worse place, thus far, that I have stopped at. Sorry no pictures, I would have had to snap someone else’s food.

The food, service, and ambiance of this Waffle House here are amazing. As soon as we entered, the service was amazing and efficient. After my meal order was taken, I was sitting there 2-3 minutes, and then the food arrived. It was all very delicious and tasty. I ordered The Cheesesteak Bowl because I like those, and they're great. The kind people attending each and every customer are too kind 😊 and helpful. I wish to go here if I ever visit this part of Texas again, Amarillo. My travels through the panhandle are limited, but if I ever embark on another journey through here, I will visit this exact Waffle House. The view outside of the windows is great, and I liked viewing, broadcasting, spectating, and watching the exterior of this exact, precise Waffle House. I am very amazed by how cool it was to be here and I like this place. The quantity of times that I will explore this part of the great state of Texas is unknown, but we shall see, and I will try to come here if I ever go up to Northern Texas ever again. I don't find anything to do often up here, as it is only a passing through city for me. That may or may not change in the near or far future. The course of events in the future is often unknown and unpredictable. We shall wait and eventually find out whether or not this sort of event will ever happen in the future, again.

The food has been good every time I've been there but there's plenty of them in the area that I live and they are usually always busy sometimes depending on the time of day it's not always quite and then when they are at their busiest times it's quite noisy.

What can you say? It's a Waffle House - but their food is not "greasy" like a lot of Waffle Houses are - service is great - worth a stop!

Asia is a great hostess! Be sure to ask for medium egg to get it runny or light for super runny there's no topping it! Also comparable to the buddy burger from Buenos Dias

Came on a Tuesday night staff was friendly, food was quick and hit the spot. It's a Waffle House so it's not crazy clean but the service and the people made it five star worthy. Will def visit again.

This probably the best customer service and breakfast deal in town. The coffee is always fresh, the bacon juicy and delicious, and the eggs are cool to perfection any way you want. The waffles are great too. I always leave here with a smile on my face and feeling like the value I pay is equal to the quality of food and service. I always bump into a friendly local or two when I sit at the bar. Coming here feels like home.

I would leave no stars if i could! Walked in around 1:30 AM and there was 5 tables that were still dirty and the other tables were already taken. The waitress said first come first serve and had us standing there for 15 minutes and would not clean the table !!!! Definitely would have gone somewhere else if it wasn't so late but we finally sat down at a dirty table and waited another 15 minutes for someone to come clean it.

I grew up eating at Waffle House with my family. So when I moved to a place where the closest Waffle House was 2 hours drive away it was painful to think about not having that comfy spot to frequent any hour of the day. So any chance I get to make a trip to Amarillo I plan to partake in this favorite childhood memory lane experience. How excited was I to find this morning on the way to a meeting that there is a WH right off my main exit hat appears to be fairly new! The service was excellent as was the food, especially the grits. I had one snafu with my OJ but the staff handled it quickly and professionally. The bathrooms were also VERY clean. Definitely will stop by here again. Great way to start my day!

Every time I eat at this place I get sick I prefer the food at the store on 45th or the one on western

I can't see why Waffle House only has 2.5 stars. I have never had a problem with any of the WH's here in Amarillo TX. My Fav is the WH off I-40 and Coulter. I do need to admit though, that 6 years ago, I had to take a 3 year break from WH. In matter of fact, I only went once and that's because someone else flipped the bill. Three babies under the age of 4 and just married with a full-time job at the VA Hospital, WH just never made the cut. Anyways I knew the waitress, we had worked at Taco Bell together 2 years prior. So yeah, good service, the food was up fast and hot and they gave us $2 to put in the Jukebox. Back to the wife and kids. About a year later, my wife took the kids and moved to Michigan while I was at work. Came home to a disaster, I did not see it coming. Not even a clue. The next morning, Waffle House. It's the only place, I could muster up the nerve to walk into. Who would have guest it. The same waitress was still there. She picked up the conversation like it was yesterday. Then she let me vent. I ate a great meal and vowed to go at least once a week. Never saw the waitress again after that first day back. I've been to every WH here in Amarillo. It's always good staff, hot food and laughs. Oh yeah, don't forget the Jukebox.... I

Waffle House is a Waffle House! Good breakfast food! Smoking allowed so that was a downer. Somewhat clean service with a smile.

I can't give this location an accurate enough rating because I didn't get waited on. My boyfriend and I came here on Easter around 2pm, however, they weren't busy. We were greeted when we walked in, but sat down and never got service despite the amount of servers walking around and making eye contact with us. After about ten minutes of waiting, we both decided to leave because we figured we wouldn't get waited on. Extremely disappointed, the location in my hometown gets twice as busy yet you always get waited on.

There in a reason there are hardly ever any cars in the lot. They are friendly enough, but there are better places to eat in Amarillo. Go somewhere where they won't mess up your order and have cleaned that week. If you are passing thru, just keep driving.

I've been to many waffle houses, and the other reviews had me worried this one was particularly dirty/gross. It was actually about as clean as any Waffle House I've been to, better than most even. Recently they stopped allowing smoking during certain days and times and thankfully we came during that time. It's no Ruth's Chris obviously but it beats iHOP in my opinion.

I've been going here for years and I've never had any problem with any food, the cleanliness, or the customer service. I love this place.

Do you like bugs? How about cooked bugs, specifically ROACHES...in your food? If so, I highly recommend the hash browns at the Waffle House on Hollywood Road. After finishing about half of my breakfast, I was lucky enough to discover one on the bottom of my plate. Oh well, the manager was kind enough to deduct a whopping 50% of our bill when the rest of the table was reluctant to finish their breakfast. Apparently, its corporate policy to offer a "discount" when your food is contaminated with vile, disgusting COCKROACHES. And if you suggest that you are unwilling to pay for the pleasure of possibly EATING ROACHES, you will be asked to leave. Obviously, Waffle House is not the most sterile environment, but I've always enjoyed the greasy goodness of their hash browns, smothered with cheese and more recently chunked with COCKROACHES.
