Waffle House

This is a tough call. There wasn't anything terrible about the food. The Omelette was cooked more like a casserole with all the ingredients mixed in the egg before cooking. That is not an omelet. They used way too much oil to cook with and they serve the oil with the food. That said, the food was cooked right. Not over or under. Our server was great. You can't not this place for service. The restaurant was clean and well staffed .

First time at a Waffle House and diamond our server was amazing and super sweet, the southern hospitality was very present here. She made sure we were okay and helped us order. The food was good and I love that they are open 24 hours

Cook over cooks bacon, does not prepare food as ordered. Finished eating hash browns and eggs before getting the bacon I ordered which was burnet. Sent it back and got basically uncooked bacon in return. Waitress was polite but failed as far as checking on food making sure it came out was prepared probably, and came out together. WON'T GO THERE AGAIN

This could have been a 5 star review but "uncomfortable" doesn't describe how the server interacted with the cook. I made the mistake of sitting at the bar which the server must have thought meant I could weigh in on their name call, yelling, general bickering, and whether or not the cook may or may not have missed a food order with everything else going on. The place was slightly busy and I got the impression the cook may have been new, but these are never an excuse to demean another person. I've worked in food service and these conversations should never be held infront of customers, and a customer certainly shouldn't be asked to provide their input. I'm here for food and have no interest in engaging in personal waffle house drama. I have a lot of respect for the cook who put up with the harassment from the older server (Mike or maybe Mitch?). The cook put his head down and worked through the terrible situation, but if I were in the same boat I wouldn't have put up with the abuse. Once the old server left at 10pm the new staff were very pleasant, near apologetic for what had unfolded

First time Waffle House! Excellent Waffle House time! I can’t say I would eat there again because I felt queasy after in a pregnant way due to how heavy the food was! It wasn’t because of the cleanliness of the food!!! Just a lot of waffle. We didn’t get our sausage, but the waffle was incredible. I’ve never had a better one. I will come here on Christmas Day when my boyfriend and I are married. :)

This Wallfe House was a literal hidden gem. It is a bit hard to spot due to being behind the gas station right in front but worth the find. Clean, nice, and the staff was very attentive. Also great conversations were had here. So no, this isn't the fight club you've seen online.

Best Waffle House food I have had in a very, very long time. The food was ready before I start scrolling on my phone! Fast, friendly service! The gentleman in there tonight CAN COOK! My father & husband are chefs so I don't say that lightly.

I was slightly dissapointed with this Waffle House. I am from up north, so I always go to Waffle House when I'm down south. Waffle has always been so consistent but this is the first time a location misses the mark a bit. Something was just off....my Waffle was a little undercooked, the hash browns were extra greasy. The toast was overcooked. So, not the best location but they were slammed so that could have contributed. I'd still go back. Staff was super nice!

Food was about what you'd expect from the Waffle House, but the service was amazing! Sam was our waitress and she was sweet, attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. Even tho it was a busy Saturday, she still kept a smile on her face. What a great experience we had. We will definitely be back :-)

We stopped for a quick dinner before we flew back to the West Coast (unfortunately the closest Waffle House to us is in Arizona..). Kia was our waitress - she was awesome, on top of things, and asked us if we needed anything often. She also made sure that our steak was definitely medium rare by communicating it well with the cook. The cook also made our food really well and made sure our hash browns were extra crispy since we asked for it, but unfortunately I didn't get his name (it was in the evening on 7/1/2024). He did a really great job with the food. The place was very clean and was fairly empty in the evening right before sundown (there was only one party other than ours at the time). Just a tip for anyone who wants it: Waffle House does have steaks too (sirloin and t-bone) and they're not on the menu but they're available to order! All in all, I was happy with this location. The service was good and so was the food and it was cheap!

We are carnivore and asked to have our eggs cooked in butter. They informed us that everything is cooked in vegetable oil, seed oils! I can't eat seed oils! We brought friends visiting from LA. Disappointed that they couldn't fulfill our request.

Love this place. Clean, staff is really Friendly and engaging. Food was good and coffee was hot. I have been to quite a few waffle houses. This one doesn't feel like your ordinary Waffle House so to speak.

I have really been on Waffle House lately!! If I convey a waffle everyday from there I would! The food is just really good to me and cheap!! Store nice and clean with many parking spaces. I will definitely coming be back!

Food was good but the seating is limited and had to quickly get a box for the food cause this old guy who works here keep clearing his throat out loud and not covering his mouth. He was literally 2 feet from our table and kept doing it. Would not recommend this location at all unless you want to get sick from that careless workers coughing on everyone's food. Smh

10/10/2022 between 1AM & 2AM Do not visit the late night hours. A total mess! Not as clean as I've seen this location in the past, but decent enough to eat after the staff cleaned off our table before we sat down. The lighting is always bright, and that's a plus. The service in the mornings and late at night would make you think you're dining at two different establishments. I've never been a huge fan of Waffle House, but my folks wanted it as it was the only thing close. I have had a 4-star experience here once, but this visit took the cake and resulted in a cumulative 2-star rating. I ordered the steak entree, and it did not come to The table piping hot. The taste was great. I saw it being cooked, and I felt it should've been hotter. The waffle that came with my sister's order never arrived. She was done eating, so she just took it to go. Poor service! The waiter did not seem presently there. No utensils, condiments, or napkins on the table, and we had to ask for them more than once. The waiter's engagement with our party seemed inappropriate. She judged how it looked as if we all came from different places based on how we were dressed.

This was my first time ever visiting a Waffle House. It will definitely not be my last. The food was excellent. And it was more than plenty. The waffles were delicious. The eggs, bacon, and hash browns were excellent. The only item I did not care for were the grits. Our waitress, Amanda, was awesome. She was at our table every 5 minutes or so helping us with refills, as well as asking us how things were going. The Waffle House really hit the spot. I highly recommend it for your breakfast fix.

MAKE SURE TO DOUBLE CHECK YOUR RECEIPT WHEN PAYING! I went last night and was charged an extra 6$ (before tip) and only bought 2 pancakes and a bowl, my total was over 40$... definitely the server trying to pad her tip, she had a hearing aid, also she didn't get me and my friend any silverware well after our food was served.

Waffle House definitely a go to anytime and especially for college students like at ECU except now we're Alumni! It gets the job done when you don't want pizza late night because everyone loves a good breakfast after a fun night out! The environment is relaxing and chill so it's a win win !

Another 5 star Fast yet packed, had to wait for parking spot to open but was served and out in 15 minutes Same servers on Sunday afternoon and they are awesome Highly recommend!

Excellent service! Visiting from Michigan and decided on Waffle House-what a great team working this morning! Cooks were amazing and Donna our server was so sweet and kind! Food was hot and tasty! Thank you!

Came for breakfast , guy who sat us down was really nice and helpful , but once we sat down to order our food , the lady who was getting our orders was being aggressive with a loud tone , we specifically said what we wanted , yet we got our order wrong

We are from Las Vegas, the land of no Waffle House. We convinced our local family members to take us here after a night out with them and we loved it! We had a great time some awesome waffles and a great waitress! We didn't see any "waffle house drama" while we were there. We would come back to this location, if we lived here.

Food by chef was okay, bland but was cooked correctly. I ordered a two egg breakfast with hot coffee, and she had hash browns, chocolate chip waffle and sweet tea. Our server however was absolutely horrible. A young man with long hair. He had made my friend's sweet tea which tasted rotten, and had sugar added to it. He also made her waffle which was dark brown on the outside and doughy on the inside (side note, he added the butter cup on top of the chocolate chips, which is gross). His attitude throughout service was horrible. I hadn't received my coffee until I was finished with the meal, and he had a problem when I said I was finished and had the check ready, and since I never got it I shouldn't be charged. And I'm usually not very nit-picky but I ordered a wheat toast and instead got soft white with too much butter.

Worst place ever , the workers don't even care . I order online on 5/14/2022 at 1:30. I ordered an all star meal with raisin toast and bacon grits/eggs. I got the opposite. I will never be back .

I'm not sure why all of these other reviews mention terrible service because I had the exact opposite experience. Maybe it had to do with the time of day these other people went, but I went in on a Saturday (with a party of 7 - 4 adults/3 kids) at around 11:30, and our server was very nice/attentive. This was my first experience at a Waffle House, but I didn't get the waffles. Not a huge fan waffles in general, but the hash brown bowl definitely caught my eye. This was hash browns, topped with egg, cheese, and crumbled sausage. It was very greasy (as expected) but sometimes, it's nice to have a greasy, unhealthy breakfast once in a while. My BF had the philly cheesesteak on Texas toast with a side of hash browns "all the way" (with grilled onions, melted cheese, ham, jalapenos, sausage gravy, chili, tomatoes, mushrooms).. The 'all the way' hash browns were too much for me - I didn't really like the chili. But I LOVED the philly cheesesteak (then again, I love most philly cheesesteaks). He ended up giving me half so I paired it with my hashbrown bowl, and it was the perfect greasy combination. That being said, Waffle House is definitely not a place you can/should be dining at too often. The bill came out to $60, which was definitely a bargain for so many people. I'm glad there is no Waffle House around where I live, otherwise I'd probably be going there too often.

I wanted to let who ever is in charge, that Jaime always does a great job every time we visit and deserves a raise, he's kept a positive great experience with us every time regardless of the lack of team players he has for coworkers. As always perfect eggs done to order :)

I'm super impressed that this location is still in business considering that "a shift change" apparently broke their operations so hard that they couldn't even look at or notice one additional customer even though there were only two other people in the whole place If I wanted a mediocre cup of coffee and to be ignored by people for twenty minutes, I could have done that at home

First, it did not start off great, we ordered our drinks and our waiter got one wrong. It wasn't the biggest deal but then it got way to chaotic, we ordered our food and it came and my food was incorrect and I only got one out of three items. The rest of us also did not have any of our food right, one didn't even get theirs until about an hour! Also, when we got to the restaurant, there was a dirty glass of silverware.

Options were slim as we arrived into RDU late. Waffle House was the only thing open and it did not disappoint. Waffle House is what it is. The waffles are amazing! Can't go wrong for the $.

My wife and I found this Waffle House after our dinner plans fell apart. It's a little hidden behind an old Pizza Hut. We dined about 10:30pm. The staff was very friendly. My Texas toast was delicious and my wife's over medium egg was perfectly cooked. Our waiter was very gentle sounding and sweet. Would not hesitate to visit again when I am in the mood for simple well cooked breakfast any time of the day or night.

This Waffle House in Cary store #351 is full of crap. Anna, the server handed my money back to me tonight because I didn't put the money in her hands. Said that it was rude, I disrespected her for not putting the money in her hands. Claims it's as if I threw it at her. Allow me to be extremely Fucking clear... You would know without fucking question if I was throwing something at you. Believe me it would be fucking obvious! Putting money on the register is not fucking rude. Now here's the fucking ironic part to this. I got an amazing tip tonight and I wanted to pay it forward, so I was going to give a $50 tip for a to-go order. But it's cool God had other plans. Never get my service again that's for sure. Oh and Anna... Way to go... Your fucking attitude sucks balls. No clue how you keep your job.

By far the worst waffle House I have ever been to. Unit manager turned up the volume on the music it was so loud we couldn't hear each other and I ended up with a headache. I asked for my hashbrowns well done, they were barely done. Waffle wasn't cooked all the way through. Awful meal.

I love Waffle House ! Great late night option . But this one is just horrible ! Not to mention that everyone that works there just look like they hate their lives , give you bad service and take forever to do everything . I am a server and trust me I know what a bad day can be like. But this is not the first time that this happens at this Waffle House, in Cary It Took just a few minutes to take my order , I drove 15 min to get my food. I didn't get 2 things that I payed for This is literally the worse Waffle House I've been too. This place really needs to work on their costumer service . Not going back . Don't go to this place !!!!!!! Save your time and money .

My food was really good. There was a cook with locs who honestly should be a manager if he isn't already. He was the one who made sure things were run properly. He took our orders, cooked our food, made sure someone rung us up etc. the food was great. He was the one who made sure we had good food and a good experience.

So disappointing, this WAS my go to place. So sad how it's declined. Very unfriendly environment I was not greeted or welcomed when I came in and the sanitation score is horrible obviously they've given up and don't care! As I was walking out two African American women were walking in and they greeted them, very racist!

I really love Waffle House. I can get all of what I want right there. I really enjoy the cheese steak omelet. On my last particular visit it was nothing special, but the food was good, and the service was decent. I had a server who was a floater and traveled from store to store. There was some confusion with some orders being called in, and who was supposed to do what, but eventually they got everything pulled together.

First of all, kudos to the cooks! Great food! Waitresses need some help. There were 2 waitresses talking trash about other employees while they were right in front of me. Very unprofessional! After their gripe session, they promptly started kissing up to the manager (or supervisor). When the supervisor went to the back room, they restarted their trash talk. So sad.

Great greasy spoon! You are not going to get the best breakfast in town but it sure is good! Service was great, waffles were perfect and the coffee was delicious. 2nd time coming to this Waffle House and my only complaint is that there isn't one closer to my home in New Jersey.

Service was friendly. Food for the price was filling not 4 star quality but good for value. Had the steak and eggs with biscuit and hash browns. Should have gotten the t-bone instead of sirloin. Came at 3pmish after shopping. I would return.

Coming from the customer service driven position and a company thats well known for customer service you kind of hope for high expectations of companies that you come in contact with.... Being a foodie I enjoy trying new places when I travel. Seeing small restaurant tucked away behind another restaurant I had my eyes set on it from the time I arrived at my hotel. Starting my day off amazing i would only hope for my day to continue that way. As I entered the restaurant I was greeted with warm smiles and greetings from the three employees that were so diligently working. As i approached the bar area I was again greeted by the cook and said have seat here boss man. Sitting front and center of the cook I could see everything that was being done as far as the preparation goes towards creating tasteful dishes. I was then greeted by the waiter who I cannot not remember her name (shame on me) who brought me water and proceeded to check on her other seated guest in the restaurant. She then return to my table where she shared some of her personal likings. Being the person I am I went in for it I ordered exactly what she had recommended. Scrambled eggs and cheese, toast, hash browns topped with country gravy, plane waffle sausage and bacon. Everything was prepared as ordered and quickly no longer then a 10 min wait. Waffle- Tender cooked to perfection. Country Gravy- Perfect combination of flavors, the right amount of meaty texture that just complements the hash browns. I must say thanks for a beautiful start to an amazing day.

It's a little bit ducked off but their open for business and definitely one of the better waffle houses in the area.

Came here for breakfast on the way to vacation. Excellent service and the food was great. Very clean

I know Waffle House has a following and I love diners and greasy spoons, so I really wanted to like it, but it was pretty disappointing. It's not a big deal, but the nonsmoking section at this location is like only 3 booths, the smoking section takes up the rest of the place, including all the nice sunny tables by the windows. Service was fine and lots of the customers seemed to know the staff and each other, which was nice. I got the ham and cheese omelet breakfast, with hash browns, toast, and bacon. Everything was just okay, with the exception of the toast, which tasted like cardboard. The omelet was kind of an ugly lump of egg with slices of American cheese oozing out. My husband got a waffle, which was tasty but unremarkable, and it was disappointing that it came with a plastic package of butter-flavored spread instead of real butter. I have nothing against simple food, but when your food is simple/basic, you really have to do it well. I love breakfast too much to come back here.

She refused to serve us. We were a group of friends , tired , came to Waffle House to eat. We just sat down in one table for 15 mins. And no one came to take the order. When we requested them to please take the order, she was throwing attitude and not even saying why she wasn't serving us. I kinda felt it was racist. The manager was not present to tell anyone. Try another Waffle House , not this one for sure !

I guess it could have been worse. The food was, for the most part, edible when it came out. Our server was really nice, but she was definitely overwhelmed. No questioning why as her coworkers were just kind of hanging out.

The Waffle House has always been one of those last minute, late night, hunger runs for me. The only problem is that you don't always know what to expect when you go into one. There are several around our area and this one is the cleanest, most responsive, and friendliest of the ones I have been to. As the other reviewer stated, it is a bit hidden off of Walnut St. If you are up late and need a decent bite to eat, seek out this Waffle House. If you enjoy the diner eats, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Welcome to the worst service on the planet. I stood for five minutes waiting to be seated. The waitresses group discussion behind the counter was way more important than I. So I sat in a booth myself. I waited half an hour as waitresses strolled by completely ignoring me. I got up and walked out invisibly. As far as the staff was concerned, I never existed.

It's Waffle House so we're not talking fine dining here. That said it's good for what it is. We typically come on weekend mornings and the staff is always really friendly towards us. One of the few places in town that consistently gets my egg order right (over medium).

A little pricey for the quality, but I think overall it's got good eggs, hash browns can be mixed w jalapeños, onions, cheese or etc. the sausage is ok and I would go back if I was nearby but I wouldn't go out of my way it's nothing exciting or different. Otherwise nice friendly service. My food was around 7.65

Very friendly staff. Even though the place was crowded they were very nice, took our orders right when we sat down and checked on us every few minutes for drinks.

I live close by & frequent this location often. The short order cooks (chefs in my book) are always super busy but bust out ticket after ticket of delicious food. Eggs always cooked to one's liking & waffles perfectly browned & fluffy. Definitely go for a breakfast meal (and add a hashbrown smothered & covered in cheese, onions etc.) They offer some salad or sandwich options but why bother? Service is always great as well. Waffle house is traditionally a late night spot or a stop for those traveling. The whole point is a quick, home cooked option. As for the complaints about not getting seated...it has always been seat yourself. A cook or server usually acknowledges guests & gets to you quickly. Love it. Will be going back to Cary location again & again
