Waffle House is good old fashion morning (or middle of the night) goodness, whichever you prefer.
When you step into a Waffle House, you pretty much know what you're getting into, and this one is no different than any other one I've been to. Same design, same menu breakfast/lunch items, same type of service.
During a recent trip to the ATL, we just HAD to visit a Waffle House because Atlanta is THE home of Waffle House after all. In fact, the very 1st Waffle House, which is now an abandoned-looking museum, was located just a few blocks down the road from this very location, the 1000th Waffle House ever. Nothing at this location was surprising during our visit. The menu was exactly the same as all other Waffle Houses. Since it was the day after July 4th at 10 AM, the restaurant had plenty of customers inside and had a steady stream throughout. When we walked in, we weren't greeted, nor directed to a table, so we took the initiative and planted ourselves down by the counter. The service was meh during our time here. Nobody was going out of their way to be friendly to us, but the waitress did her job as needed. Our food was prepared quickly and brought to us when expected.
I ordered the All-Star Special (2 eggs, toast, hash browns and waffle) with sausage, while my wife ordered the Two Egg Breakfast (eggs, toast, hash browns) with sausage. Everything was pretty typical. The breakfast was a solid cheap meal. The one thing that really did stand out though was the waffle because I changed it to a peach waffle. I don't know if it was a nationwide promotion or just a Georgia thing, but the peach waffle was available for a limited time only, and it was without question probably the best thing I ever ordered at a Waffle House. The waffle was so simple. It had some peace filling inside and the peace sauce added on top made it even more delicious. Mind you I was sober during this meal, but if I had been drinking, this might have been the greatest thing ever.
Like I said, this is a decent Waffle House location. I'm sure there are "better" ones out there, in terms of cleanliness and service, but if you're looking to go in and out quickly, this location does the trick.
