This place is spot on....they say you want great popcorn...you go to the movies..when you want a great omelet...waffle house can't be beat especially 1331 on the Delaware maryland border... Thanks to the management and staff for a great meal.

While traveling back from the DMV we decided try this particular Waffle House because of their reviews. We tend to stay away from the Waffle House because they can be messey. The service and the food was great however they need to pay more attention to cleanliness concerning the floors and cleaning off the tables. The staff was hard at work and our service and food was great. Thanks guys for a job well done.

The food was OK, except for the chili that they put on top of the hashbrowns. But this has become an issue at multiple waffle houses across East Coast. Look at the picture and you can see it looks like this has been sitting out for five days. Not acceptable.

Waffle House never disappoints! The service is always fast, friendly, and full of genuine southern hospitality. The staff makes you feel right at home from the moment you walk in, and the cozy, laid-back atmosphere is perfect any time of day. My food always comes out hot, fresh, and exactly how I ordered it. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or a late-night bite, Waffle House delivers comfort and quality every time. It’s that perfect mix of great people, great food, and that unmistakable “home away from home” feeling!

The blueberry waffle was perfect--not overloaded with blueberries, but just the right amount in every bite. It was warm, and had a great balance of sweetness. The staff was super friendly and made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. The only downside was that the bathroom wasn't the cleanest, but it didn't take away from the overall experience. Definitely worth a visit if you're craving a delicious waffle and great service.

The grilled chicken sandwich 🥪 is really good, their service was great and they have a little juke box you can play music from. It ours conveniently located next to a gas station, store, liquor store & McDonald’s among other things. We arrived late night after a trip and enjoyed the peace. The only thing I didn’t like was, there were no turkey 🦃 products. Everyone doesn’t eat pork.

Perfectly fine Waffle House. Nice staff. Clean bathrooms. Cheesy Eggs with raisin toast excellent as usual. (🤣I have no idea how to fix the duplicate photo issue. Every time I try I end up with either 0 photos or with many photos. Oh well)

Our waitress was great very attentive. The service in general was wonderful. It was a busy time and even though the food was quick. The waffle was delicious I ordered with blueberries and coffee was refilled each time even without having to ask since there were coming often back to me. I enjoyed the experience

I love me some waffle House! I've been to multiple all across the country. Never got to enjoy a nice late night scuffle, and for the most part they have all been really good! Wish they had them out where I live! I walked in, and was greeted by my server Jennifer. Super nice super sweet lady, told me I could sit wherever I wanted and got my beverage for me while I browsed the menu. I typically get the same hash brown bowl, but I wanted to try something different and I ordered the Texas chicken sandwich with hash browns and country gravy. It was so good, I'm glad I tried it cuz now I can go back to my Norm next time hahaha! I asked Jennifer for some Louisiana hot sauce, and she gave me Tabasco hahaha but it was close enough! That girl on the flat top was whipping up delicious farw the ENTIRE time I was there. Poor kid needs to take a break! She was really hustlin'! Oddly enough, all the food she was making, I think was take out orders, because there is only one other couple in there besides me, but a few people came in and got food to go. This isn't exactly the cleanest WH I've been in, but I've also been in some pretty ratchet ones. But there is one employee there who wasn't really doing much, because they weren't really busy, and I noticed the waffle station was absolutely destroyed. Batter everywhere, I just think people should take pride more in what they do. Bar seating table top could have been wiped down, but other than those two things, excellent food, excellent people, and excellent experience! I hate this state, well the whole northeastern seaboard for that matter, but this visit made my stay a lot more tolerable. Thank you jennifer! Good as always/ nice staff/ waffles and other items are always enjoyable for a quick meal. We got a bunch of stuff - hashbrowns/ waffles etc. Enjoy

Amazing establishment! We came here at midnight on a Saturday and let me tell you, our experience was as good or even better than visiting somewhere else at a normal hour. It was still decently busy in there, considering the time of day, and yet our service was still incredibly quick and enjoyable. It was very clean in there, our food came out fast and well cooked, and we felt very safe while inside and outside the restaurant. We love Waffle House, and this is definitely one of the best ones we have been to yet! If you're in the area or driving on 95, I highly recommend you stop in for a nice meal, it only takes about 20-30 minutes from when you walk in until you're all done your delicious food!

As a west coaster, I needed to understand the lore behind Waffle House. My conclusion was that it was just a stickier Denny's.

As a Waffle House the food is on spot but they fail with the true Waffle House atmosphere. No loud staff, no tattoos and I'm guessing no felons. This makes three Waffle House restaurants I don't recommend.

WOW. My friends and I were returning to New York from a trip to Baltimore and stopped at the Waffle House in Ellkton. (Never mind that we had already eaten Brunch before hitting the road- we couldn't leave the state without Waffle House and a delicious pecan waffle!). We were immediately welcomed and seated at the counter where our server Nikki was friendly and efficient. In my excitement, I snapped a pic of the menu to document my experience. This was noticed by Jess who approached us with a huge smile and contagious enthusiasm! She was engaging and personable - clearly passionate about her job which is so refreshing to see. My friends and I agree that the service we received at the Elkton Waffle House sincerely exceeded the service we received at the Baltimore Four Seasons hotel! What a pleasant surprise. Jess made our experience so special and memorable. Keep up the great work and THANK YOU!

This was your typical Waffle House restaurant! It was clean and well lit. The service was prompt and excellent! The food was excellent as expected and similar to the other Waffle House restaurants I've been to.

Quick service, generally clean and as always -- tasty food for a cheap price. This Waffle House made for a nice stop on the road with no wait to sit down and a very affordable dining option late at night.

Came here for breakfast with my family. I used to enjoy Waffle House when I lived in Georgia. We don't have them in the Philadelphia area so when I saw there was one nearby where we were staying in Maryland, I wanted to go. This is a breakfast chain, obviously specializing in waffles. You can't beat the amount of food you can get for the price here. I got a chocolate chip waffle, bacon, and hash browns. Everything was great, I especially love Waffle House's hashbrowns. Servers were nice as can be. I definitely recommend coming here, especially if you've never been to a Waffle House before.

Let me start off by saying how much we love Waffle House! Wish it was anywhere near where I live but no, I have to travel out of state to get mine scattered, smothered and covered. We were so excited when walking in, after a very long drive. No "welcome to Waffle House". We sat and the first thing I notice are 2 ants crawling across the table. Server asks what we want, no emotion and more interested in what's happening on his phone. We obviously got waffles and hash browns. The waffles were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, yum. The bacon comes out next. Not strips but 2 shriveled up fatty pieces that left burn marks on the plate. Our hash browns arrive and while mine were good, my partners were a soggy, greasy heap that didn't have a crispy crust. Disappointed

I'm giving this particular waffle house location five stars because I'm reviewing it for what it is. It's a waffle house!!! Those who go to the waffle house know what it's about. It's about getting good waffles, or platters that contain waffles and eggs and ham and/or bacon etc. for a very reasonable price. I meet my friend here about once a month because it's halfway between our two residences and we've never had a bad experience. Coffee is hot and flowing, the service is always really good because we sit at the counter. And it's also fun to watch them cook. This particular waffle house is conveniently located about half a mile off interstate 95 just inside the Maryland border. Tax-free DELAWARE is about a mile away so it's good to grab breakfast and go shopping. Love this location.

Stopped in here on our way back home from a weekend road trip and was pleased with our experience. My boyfriend had never been and always wanted to see what the hype was about. It was pretty packed, we waited for about 15 minutes and was able to get good seating. Our server was in the weeds but never forgot about us so that speaks volumes to me. The food was pretty good, but I think we both agreed the orange juice was 10/10 lol idk what it was but it just seemed so refreshing. Thanks Waffle House!

Only place where you can get add-ons for your Hashbrowns for $0.50 each. Choose from "Smothered" for sautéed onions, "Covered" for a slice of cheese, "Chunked" for hickory smoked ham, or "Peppered" for jalapeños. Top your waffle with choice of pecans, chocolate chips, peanut butter chips or blueberry nougat. Endless coffee flows into branded mugs. Sugar and cream to taste. Convenient and brightly-lit parking is safe and simple. Where else can you have a sit-down full-breakfast and coffee for $10 ??!!!

I know it's a Waffle House but you won't get a snicker from me. Long on harsh florescents and short on curb appeal, these 24/7 roadside waystations are a welcome caffeine and carb salve for the weary traveler and long haul trucker. No artifice, just solid breakfast fare and a very reasonable check. Why they show up on COPS every other week is an excellent conversation starter and a candidate for rigorous Big Data analysis but I've never had a bad meal here. You (probably) won't either. Five stars for being true to themselves.

Bri, (waitress) server animosity with getto attitude. We were traveling and decided to meet our friends at Waffle House. We were in a happy mood due to special occasions. I asked my husband what he wanted, her orders, I order. My friend, who always orders for her husband's orders, big breakfast with grits on top of the hashbrowns and runny scrambles eggs, she asked Bri to please make sure the eggs were soft and runny. Bri brings the food, my friend says; those eggs are not runny. Please take them back. Bri replies with animosity; "those eggs are runny" as she is reaching out across my friend face. Her husband, who does not want a confrontation, says, "They're fine." Bri says with animosity and directive tone, " it's his food! My friend husband told her ( my friend) to stop, and he walked out, she follows. My husband and I are in the middle of this awkward moment, which, by the way, changed our moods immediately. Our joyful time became awkward, confused, and embarrassing as everyone heard the situation arise. My husband and I were going to ask to pack the food to go when we noticed her husband come back. We sat back down; his wife did not come back in. Yet, I had to go to the register to ask for our coffee to be warmed up, an orange juice and container to take my friends' food to go. Which, by the way, we had to throw away her food because it was soggy. Other employees asked with a smirk on their face how we were doing... seriously! That moment had my stomach so upset I had to get up to pay but had to rush to the restroom to vomit. I went to the register, and I was charged and only provided with an order reprint receipt by a different employee. I called corporate to complain, but there was no answer. They ask for us to go online and fill in our information. I did! No one has called back. I'm very disappointed with Bri. Not only did she ruin our special occasion but also our weekend. Management should have dealt with her inadequate demeanor immediately. Management should have, at the very least, make sure our orders were correct and that we were OK. Nothing, Nada, Zip, As if a ghost runs that restaurant.

I love Waffle House and usually I have to wait to go down south to get it. Unbeknownst to me there was one in MD not too far from PA my boyfriend was willing to drive too. I was a happy camper that day.

So I've heard so much about The Waffle House being from Cali (where we don't have any) I jumped at the chance to visit. Honestly it the food was ok. It didn't exactly blow me away however the service did. I mean every employee was extremely welcoming & pleasant. That's enough to get another visit from me. Maybe next time I'll try something different on the menu that will match the extraordinary service. 3 starz

It's hard to screw up a Waffle House. First off, if you are familiar with this chain, you know you're not going to get roses and diamonds. It's pretty bare bones and for the price you pay, you are going to get enough to get you full and get you out of there. I stick with the basics - eggs, hash browns, toast, orange juice and either sausage or bacon. Because of that, if there's a Waffle House within 10 minutes of a long drive, I try to stop in for a break. This place was no exception. Service was no nonsense - you order, it's slapped down in front of you, you eat, and you get up and pay the cash register.

I remember someone calling it Awful House... here was just meh. Walked in a bit after 7am and it was filled with construction guys, then a little while later it emptied out and there were a bunch of takeout orders standing around. The meal was a perfect size, not too heavy. Greasy spoon was another term I heard that fit it well. It was ok, not Denny's though;

We had the chicken and the steak sandwich melts and they where absolutely delicious. Very well seasoned and the place is kept very clean. Service was has also excellent with lots of southern charm on the side

The All Star meal never disappoints. Took my younger cousin for his first time as he hasn't really spent much time outside of New Jersey and now he keeps asking when we can go back. If only he were able to experience college the way I did during undergrad in South Carolina. Lol But the food was delicious, and our waitress was awesome! She was engaging, accommodating, and very friendly. They made sure everyone was socially distanced, and following the guidelines they had in place.

This place is OK. I do not like the coffee here and the staff wasn't that pleasant. The food was good though and the prices decent.

Fast food seat down counters and booths place. Been to many other locations if not adverse to waitperson ordering loudly to cooks who are right there cooking . Thing that has really impressed me is cooking chefs remember orders !! No written items just called out orders .. amazing

I have been searching the traditional Southern Waffle House experience, and this place did not cut it! The service was ok. I mean, the waitress forgot our order even though she wrote it down. My steak omelet was small and did not include the jalapenos as requested. I asked for smothered hash browns with jalapenos, and I received a plan order of hash browns. My mother's order was messed up. The location and parking were great. However, the place needed a deep cleaning.

I have been extremely patient with this location for manyyyy months now. I arrive and there's employees complaining the entire time and every time. No problem...they seem stressed. I just like the food. The biggest issue is that there have been so many times I get there and they are closed completely or will not let anyone in. This past time they had a small rush of people and then there was one table left about 15 minutes to midnight. I had to handle something on my phone really quick and one employee went and locked the door randomly during that time and that was that . I tried to call the number to see if I could get some information but they didn't answer and the message at the end is completely inaccurate. I am currently watching everyone walk up to the locked doors in total confusion. I am tired of it. Since I can't rely on this location and there is no notice except a possible sign on the door (normally handwritten) I will have to stop coming here for a long while and warn others about the inconsistency until something changes.

Awesome service, exactly the type of food you need on a Sunday morning, and hardworking employees. They are busy on the weekends but it's worth it imo. 10/10

I hadn't been to a Waffle House in years since there are none near me. I stopped off here for breakfast and it was just as I remembered. Great, fast, value priced food that's served by people who care. The staff here was very attentive and probably what really make this stop tick.

Grilled cheese was BOMB. it was buttery but not greasy, the cheese was perfectly melted, the bread was just the right amount of toasted. It was amazing m, honestly the best grilled cheese I have ever tasted. everything else didn't do the Waffle House justice. I got an angus cheeseburger that tasted like a burger from public school lunches. The hash with cheese they literally melted a slice of American cheese on top. I'll if it was the staff or what but i was not a huge fan.

Lovely late-night staff! Came here for some midnight feasting, and our server Georgette and "Rock Star Grillmaster" (a well-deserved title) Dakota made this a great Waffle House visit. I didn't even know there were tiers for the Waffle House grill cooks until coming here, and not gonna lie, we were served some of the best bacon we ever had by Dakota. Also had my usual Texas Cheesesteak with Topped Hashbrowns which hit the spot. Some friends got the Pork Chop & Eggs along with Cheese Eggs that were cooked spot-on. Swing by to this Waffle House if you're in the area!

O-M-G WAFFLE HOUSE! I'm a native Southern Californian so I'm zero familiar with the Waffle House. A bunch of my friends and I were in town for a wedding (one of them from Belgium) and we decided to take her to this place to have an ultimate American experience! LOCATION: This location is snug. There is room to sit all around the wall and at the bar and that's pretty much it. SERVICE: We waited possibly 10 minutes to be seated (there were 4 of us). Our server was very hospitable and patient when it came to us not knowing what to order. When it comes time to pay, you have to walk up to the register to pay. FOOD: Um, get the waffles with chocolate chips, duh!!! I decided to order the hashbrown and the server asked me "you want any fixings with that?" - Long story short - I got sausage with gravy over my hashbrown!! This is SO different to what I normally eat back in healthy-ville Southern California :) TIP - Don't eat here regularly. It's not good for your health. But will I come back? HECK YEAH! Those chocolate chip waffles *drool*

Not the best Waffle House I've been. It's really fast-paced, tables are sticky, parking lot is inconveniently located and hard to park/exit because spots are small, tight and situated awkwardly. But friendly and fast service!

Awesome! How can Waffle House not be an amazing spot? The waitress took forever to wait on us but other than that the service was awesome! Took one star off just for the fact that food is not always consistent. I guess cause of the cooks at different locations. Other than that, the waffle never disappoints. Love that they have sweet tea! Also love how diverse it was in this location, I didn't feel out of place. All races are welcomed and you can tell. You don't get looks or feel unwelcome. The bacon was a little uncrisp but overall the meal was great. The host who was working on the Sunday was an absolute gem! Way to get us seated. Would I come back? Absolutely. You can never ever go wrong by visiting a Waffle House! It's the place to go for that hunger in you!

Barf, nothing positive to say about this place. No ice in drinks, undercooked eggs, soggy home fries and waffles.

Decent place for quick diner type food. Minus two stars for the employees constantly removing their masks. I wasn't expecting much when we stopped here, but even for Waffle House standards everything was blah. The waffles weren't the best part. Lol.

Road trip from Massachusetts to Savannah, GA. Always wanted to try a Waffle House, got to this location. Sat down, husband and I used the restroom before we ordered. The restroom smelled & looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a month. There were millions of some kind of weird fly knats I had never seen before in the restroom, husband said they were all over the mens room too. As I was walking back to my table I gave the kitchen a good look over to make sure the kitchen was anything like their bathrooms, it was okay, looked like they had a rush and hadn't had time to clean up spilled batter everywhere. But honestly I couldn't get the bathroom experience out of my head so we just left and went to Cracker Barrel. The staff did seem nice though. Just those bathrooms!!

This has got to be a joke the smallest restaurant I've ever seen and we walk in two employees trying to handle a handful of customers. I looked around to see nothing but dirty tables. I sat down and told husband there is no way we are eating here in this filth. Went around the corner to Cracker Barrel instead. Glad I did or I'd be kissing the porcelain throne later. Yikes!

This was a horrible experience. The woman working had no mask on screaming at everyone. She asked me if want something to drink to then just say okay don't worry I will send someone to you right now. She was hitting on a guy with his wife and son while looking like she fighting to stay awake. I will never come to this establishment again. I would rather drive out 24 miles more for a better experience.

What can I say? It's Waffle House...My first breakfast love... They are absolutely consistent wherever you go to one at. The one in Elkton is near to my heart because I spent a lot of lonely holidays here going through a divorce 12 years ago... Now, i go for the pecan waffles and, of course, the scattered, smothered, and covered hash browns. You can't beat a place where you can get all this for less than 10 bucks and always served with a smile!

It's probably the worst waffle house ive been to. The staff seemed nice, but the manager I had come in contact with had nothing to offer but pure rudeness and a lot of attitude. Although they are only offering takeout at the moment, we ordered the food and waited only to find out later, when others came, in that we werent allowed to be in there... Love waffle house, but extremely disappointed by the customer service. Would not recommend going to and never going here again, plain and simple. Food was alright.

Honestly, Waffle House is probably the most unsanitary places you could go to eat, but the food is amazing. It's always on of those places you have to question yourself "why am I eating here". Today, stopped here on my way back to Maryland. The first and biggest problem I had was that the person who was taking names for the waitlist and to eventually sit them was sitting people who were just walking in. We had been waiting for about 15 minutes so far and some people walked in and was seated before us. This happened more than twice and we had mentioned it t her. I guess she didn't really care or wasn't paying attention. I believe her name was Christine (I can't remember). Half of the staff weren't wearing hair nets or gloves, but there were touching plates. Don't get me started on how they "washed" the plates and silverware. We had to ask for plastic utensils because it looked so bad. After all that, I overhear one of the waiters tell another employee that they could show this group a fight that had happened in their establishment recently. She emphasized to him to show them "quietly", but she didn't realize I'm an yelp reviewer so I listen and watch wherever I go. Our server was nice and polite and besides all that I enjoyed the meal. The one picture I have is disgusting. Why is the meat in the refrigerator like that just hanging there and on the rails. Unsanitary

Ants everywhere. You could just sit and watch them on all the tables. Maybe close for an hour to actually clean.

Let me start off by saying I had not been a fan of Waffle House for years. Apparently, all the waffle houses in my state suck or this location is just 10x better. From my understanding, Waffle House is that place you go to at 2 am when you just have the munchies and you can over look the fact that it's dirty as hell because it's the only place that's open. This particle location was really clean inside. Maybe it's because Covid-19 and the fact that no one has sat down to eat? I'm not sure, but it was damn sure impressive. I'm used to the food being mediocre at best, but this was actually really good and it didn't even give me bubble guts for once. I would actually go to this location for breakfast - I can't say that for any other location.

Waffle house is a classic restaurant, go to any waffle house and you'll get similar experiences each time. I've come to this waffle house a couple times and I mean when you come to places like this you can't expect to much service wise. You will get good and bad experiences so dont expect to much. Food wise, something's I would get and some I would stay away from. The waffles are great no complaints about them. The grits are nasty, one time me and someone else got them and we compared the taste to toilet water that's how bad they were. Eggs are alright, the hashbrowns or potatos are good. Although theres been times where they are extremely oily and when you get to the bottom of the plate a puddle of grease and oil will be waiting for you. So overall I recommend to only get a couple things at waffle house, but if you want a better traditional breakfast just visit a local diner.

Waffle Houses are always amazing! This visit in particular has great and fast service, friendly staff, and delicious food. Their ability to produce food so quickly and orderly in the midst of the business is always impressive. The diner atmosphere of a Waffle House is definitely worth checking out!

Came here with my boyfriend for the first time on our way home and they were completely packed and we had people waiting in front of us but they still got us seated within 10 minutes. Our server was sweet woman named Shemiah and she was absolutely amazing. Got us refills repeatedly as soon as our cups were getting a bit close to being low, got all our food down in front of us ready in less than 10 minutes and was nice as ever even in the stressful environment all the employees were in. The food was amazing and so was the service, definitely one of my new favorite places.

It's Waffle House! It's just as you'd expect if you've been to one before. This is a somewhat small location, but that wasn't an issue. Food was well prepared, coffee was tasty and hot, service was good and friendly, and the two of us were stuffed when we left, for a total of $20.18 before tip. Waffle House isn't fancy, it's basically a diner, but if you want a hearty, filling breakfast cooked right, give it a try!
