Google
We have drove past plenty of times only thinking this was a Waffle House which it is but all of their food is super delicious. We have been 3X in a month now because there is so much on the menu and we haven’t been disappointed yet. Today we had the chile verde burrito with steak and the huevos rancheros that comes with homemade tortillas along with the tres leches with strawberry and banana crepe. And it was so amazingly good.

Cassie K.

Google
Holy cow we wanted to try this and it is delicious! I would eat here all the time. It is delicious with good portion sizes! We got the chilli verde burrito with steak and the Beirra tacos!

Brett M.

Google
Excellent service. Friendly and knowledgeable service. Good prices for the food. The atmosphere had good vibes. I will definitely be back.

Google
Came across this place randomly and decided to stop in, and it was worth every penny 😋 The food was delicious, and the tres leche pancakes we're soo fluffy, and the fruit was fresh. The pupuas were delicious, too, and the Salvadoran breakfast combo. I can't wait to go again 😫

Google
Waffles - great Pupusas - delicious Service - friendly A very nice place all around!

Google
This place is incredible. As soon as we walked in, we were greeting in a friendly manner. Everything was super clean and very well decorated. The food was amazing, and it was honestly hard to decide what to get because everything sounded so good. I will definitely be coming back here a lot more!

Google
Great place for good authentic crepes and their chicken and waffle dish is really good. Their waffles are great, nice and fluffy. Crepe menu satisfies a sweet tooth if you have one! Also, it’s not easy finding a diversity of foods in the area. Great spot, A+ atmosphere.

Google
Came here since my oldest requested crepes for his birthday breakfast. The place was clean, service was great. Food was delicious and portions were good. Only down side was it was a bit over priced, but I get it, in this economy if you are a small family owned business you gotta do what you gotta do to stay afloat.

Yelp
The ambience as soon as you step into the restaurant is amazing. Before we made it to the counter, we were greeted by the server, Leo. He handed us menus and gave us the option to sit wherever we would like. Brought us water as soon as we sat down, we placed our order and the food was out to the table quickly. Everything was fresh and flavorful especially the horchata!! I've never tasted horchata that was this fresh and good! Definitely an Authentic Salvadoran Restaurant. We're making this our new Saturday morning spot!

Yelp
I grubbed at Waffle Stop and Authentic Salvadorean Cafe for a professional lunch today, and our party of nine was seated immediately thanks to the restaurant's spacious, spotless dining area. Parking was a breeze, which is always a win during the lunch rush. I ordered the strawberry lemonade and the Carne Asada Plate, and both were excellent--the meat was thinly sliced with a flavorful marinade, and the homemade tortillas were thick, warm, and absolutely delicious. Their pico really stood out with its fun mix of cucumbers, radishes, onions, and tomatoes, adding a refreshing crunch to every bite. Our server kept drinks full and service smooth, even with a large group. Everyone at the table loved their entrées, and I'd highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for hearty, flavorful food in a clean and welcoming setting. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Just stopped into this evening to have breakfast for dinner. I was pleasantly surprised. I thought I'd get the same olde boring breakfast but this was fantastic. The waiter/cashier was super friendly and bounced around helping multiple tables. I ordered the breakfast burrito with steak. It was so good with the sauce. I couldn't stop eating. I also had a Berry Berry waffle. The waffle was so moist with fresh fruit on top and whipped cream. Simply beautiful!!! I'm gonna make this my go to breakfast spot for when I'm in Utah.

Yelp
Love supporting local small businesses! Love seeing how busy this place was. I've always seen this place but have never stopped into try it until today! Just be aware Yelp has not updated the business new location. I followed the Yelp address and it took me to the business old location which was north of the new location. The service was great! Seems to be family owned/serviced. The restaurant was very cleaned. The menu had lots of options, but the only meat options for the breakfast is just bacon and sausage, no turkey or vegetarian option. Their coffee was different than your ordinary coffee! Was very smooth and aromatic. There were 5 gals in our group and everything we ordered was great! Will definitely be returning!
google avatar

Amy S.

Yelp
The breakfast was really good. I got bacon, eggs and hash browns and loved it. My husband got a fancy pancake breakfast. We also enjoyed the service and ambiance.

H M.

Yelp
Went in for soup with bread bowl, they were out of the bowls but got a small cup of soup and a toasted bun. There was no price for it on the menu. They rang it up at $16.99 so paid $34 for both. This is really out of line with what we got. The soup was mostly salty not the correct flavor for a homemade soup. The price was way too much for what we got.

Yelp
Unethical Business Practices- they never gave us a receipt instead when we were checking out we discovered that they charged five extra dollars because we ordered eggs with our meal....They said there's a surcharge for eggs due to the egg prices, insane unethical. The server never told us they were going to charge extra for ordering eggs! I have never seen such unethical practices we will never ever go back.

Heather D.

Yelp
The food and the service are amazing!! We go at least once month and I always leave 100% satisfied!!

Yelp
Not sure how this place stays in business! I've driven past over a half a dozen times always closed during publishes operations hours. Wanted to find an authentic papusa- guess I'll stick to the food truck on 3500 W in Roy!

Wendi M.

Yelp
This place is GREAT. We loved pupusas when we lived in Salt Lake (shoutout to Cafe Guanaco!) and looked for pupusas in Davis County when we moved up here. It's a bit of a drive for us but totally doable. The pupusas are great, we got one with beans and cheese and one with chicken and cheese. The pupusas come with the delicious slaw and red sauce that we've had before. We also got an order of the fried yucca with chicharronè, which comes with more red sauce, slaw, and tomatoes and cucumber on top. Everything was delicious and we are excited to take our leftovers home with us. There were several other tables full at 2:30-3 on a Friday but it was hard to tell if any were having Salvadoran food or the waffles, crepes and breakfast that they also serve. I suspect the tables with kids were having the waffles and crepes, but you should definitely go for the pupusas! We will absolutely be back!

Yelp
I'm quite conflicted on how to rate this review. On the one hand, the food was great and service was acceptable. On the other hand, I feel like I got duped. Let me explain. Our party of 4 got kids pancakes, french toast delight, cookie butter crepe, and huevos rancheros. All were very good. Cookie butter crepes are out of this world good. I got the huevos rancheros and it came with fresh, warm, house made tortillas. The bad. Prices on the menu were $5.99, $10.99, $10.99 and $9.99 respectively. When I went to check out, the bill seemed higher than expected ($45.82 when I was expecting high 30s). I asked to see a breakdown and noticed the prices charged were higher. I opted not to fight or question it there, but I should have. As an example, the french toast delight was supposed to be $10.99 as shown on the menu, but I was charged $13.51 (before tax). See receipt photo attached. All items were ordered were priced higher! Additionally, I was charged a $1.25 "checkout fee". What the heck is a checkout fee?! When we finished our meal I was excited to bring friends and family back to try it out, but now I feel slighted. The least they could do is note on the menu that prices have changed and to ask a server for current prices or something. Annoyed.

Yelp
Excellent food, so many choices we all ordered something different and everyone enjoyed it. They have breakfast all day along with Salvadoran specialties and sandwitches

Yelp
My wife and I have driven by this restaurant several times and finally tried it. This was our first time trying papusas, and we're hooked. The staff was very friendly and it was very clean inside. We will be frequenting here now. We will definitely add this place to the rotation!!!

Yelp
First, I have to rave about the vibe in this place. Soooo warm and inviting. The employees are kind and they speak Spanish, which is great as well! I ordered 6 pupusas- pork and revueltas, some tamales de elote (corn tamales), platanos fritos dish, and a kids waffle meal to go. We went on a bit late, it was 7pm on a Friday night, they close at 8. Our order took a speedy 20 mins. I think you can also call in your order for pick up. When we left, the bags felt light, I know this sounds like an odd thing to say, but being an avid pupusa eater and Salvadoran, this stood out ime immediately. I know I'm not trippin when I say that because even my mom made the comment when I was simply thinking it! The curtido (coleslaw) is my favorite thing, and I would rate this one at a 5/10. It was good, but something a bit off about it. I'm guessing they don't pummel you with loads of it to take home because maybe most customers aren't into it?, I dunno but every time I get pupusas there is a hefty amt of curtido because cmon, whats a pupusa without its curtido. The red sauce though, PERFECTION. the pupusas themselves were ok. The masa didn't have the authentic taste, and there wasn't enough cheese, this was my family's consensus. They were edible, but nothing to write home about, ya know. They cost $3.75 each, they had gourmet ones as well I think those were $4.75, I would like to try a loroco I don't see why they are gourmet, but I will try it next time! Next is the plantains, I'm a sucker for plantains. They came w refried pinto beans and some type of sour cream- didn't taste quite Salvadoran, it was white and not yellow like Salvadoran so I'm not too sure. It was tasty nonetheless. It seems like the meal comes w ONE plantain bc there were about 4-5 slices, they were delicious. Moving on to the tamales de elote, I give them a solid 4/10 for effort. A bit dry, the masa fell apart, SALTY, and def not enough corn in it. I even ate the tamal w sour cream bc it was so salty. The size of it was great though! Last but certainly not least, the waffles. Perfect. They were tasty, fluffy, and portion size on point! I do want to mention that I wanted to try the atole de elote. It's a cold February night in Utah, this hot drink would go so well with the season we are in. They didn't have any. I asked if it's bc I came in too late, and they ran out, but she says they only make it if it's been in high demand. Otherwise, the drink goes to waste. It's totally understandable, but in that case maybe make it a seasonal drink that's not typically on the menu, or have it on sale for certain weeks/weekends. I was devastated that they don't carry it often. Overall, I liked the feel of this place and the employees. I've had better Salvadoran food, I wouldn't say this is authentic, but if you're not used to eating them all your life, you may not notice the difference. I will def give this place a try again and if I'm in the mood for waffles, I know just where to go!

Yelp
So we called ahead for pickup and ordered on August 1st, 2023. We ordered quite a few things for a 5 person family. I personally ordered 3 carne asada street tacos and I was pretty hopeful since usually the street tacos I've had in the past were super good! But I had no idea if it was actually living up to my expectations. But I'm so glad I ordered them because they were THE BEST TACOS IVE EVER TASTED! Super high quality taste, flavor, ingredients! It was just incredible! Totally recommend getting those carne asada street tacos! Also just an fyi we picked out food up at ate it at home so I wasn't able to experience the place and the environment but great food!

Krysten W.

Yelp
If I ever need to request a last meal, it will be from Waffle Stop in Syracuse. Amazing food, cute sit down area, service was perfect. We always order the meal and a crepe and leave so full we feel miserable but never regret it! Ha!

Yelp
My favorite breakfast place ever love the food, especially the nachos The place is very nice definitely recommend this place and the people who work there are very welcoming and nice I love that they leave flowers on the table to
google avatar

Javier M.

Yelp
I had the street tacos Al pastor and their papusas. Outrageous good. Something totally different from all other commercial burgers and tacos.

Foodie F.

Yelp
Decent food but very expensive for the portion sizes. People are nice but probably won't be back.
google avatar

Camille P.

Yelp
We love this local, small business. Although the wait time for food is often too long, the end result is home cooked food that is fresh. Their waffles are thick and the oftens for toppings are endless! The carne asada is also tasty and their breakfast options like bacon, eggs, hashbrowns are also tasty. Tip: go early! And call ahead because their hours are not consistent!
google avatar

Victoria O.

Yelp
The food is so good! If you're in the mood to try something new they have Salvadorean food, but if you want comfort food, they have that too. They serve breakfast all day. Their pupusas are delicious! I was in heaven. The birria tacos were good too. Everything was good. We ordered to go and they were so kind to make sure that everything was warm and ready for us when we got there. I'm definitely going back!
google avatar

Renato S.

Yelp
The food was SOOO yummy. We ordered the questions platter and the three cheese popusas smothered in sour cream and cotija cheese. The server was nice and polite and the food came out fast. We enjoyed the open environment and how bright and clean everything was.

Michelle F.

Yelp
Food is great! Prices are reasonable! Service is pretty good too! They serve anywhere from crepes to pulled pork burritos (which are delish)!!!!! Small place and I don't think they're well known because it's called "Waffle Stop"! Which makes me think it's just waffles, it's not!!!!!! BUT YUMMY!!!! Highly recommend that you check it out!!!!
google avatar

Kathee C.

Yelp
We decided to give this place another try and are so glad we did!! My daughter was craving crepes and got the banana nutella one and LOVED it! I got the strawberry one, it was delicious. My husband got the Stop Fest Breakfast and it was really good. Very generous servings. The service was so good! Very friendly and attentive.
google avatar

Tiffani K.

Yelp
Food and people are great! My kids come for the waffles and crepes, i come for the authentic el Salvadorean food.
google avatar

Debbie P.

Yelp
Our extended family went there after a baptism. The waiter was very attentive to our group! The food was delicious! I had a pupusa that had a bit too much spice for me. Everything else I tasted was very good! My husband is a waffle aficionado and he liked the waffle he ordered. He had a plain waffle with syrup. There are many other specialty waffles that looked delicious! My nephew had an Oreo crepe which looked delicious and was delicious because I snitched a couple of bites I plan on going back for another visit to try one of the crepes!
google avatar

Bobby E.

Yelp
I love the food, the menu, and the service. The tacos and cookie butter waffle are my go-to favorites. The restaurant hours are sporadic though and sometimes you don't know if they're open or not.
google avatar

Alan H.

Yelp
Okay, to be honest, we have never really tried the waffles here at Waffle Stop and Authentic Salvadorian Cafe. The reason being is that we always stop by here on Tuesdays for their delicious street tacos. Yanno... Taco Tuesdays! There are other taco places around town for Taco Tuesdays, but this place has some of the best and most authentic. We do wish that they offered more accompaniments or a little bar with more sauces, cilantro, sour cream, shredded queso (for those white folks who enjoy a little cheese with their tacos) that the customer could add. It is clearly a family owned and operated business as they have their children seating tables and taking orders. That isn't a problem for the most part, until the younger ones are running through the restaurant screaming while you try to eat. Overall, a cute, family owned business that could use some work and upgrades.
google avatar

Jerica O.

Yelp
First time eating at this spot. My husband decided breakfast for dinner so that's what we got. I got the Cookie Butter crepe and it was good. My husband got chicken and waffles and said it was kinda boring. Haven't tried anything else so don't no go because I only gave 3 stars. I just o lay give it 3 stars because I haven't tried anything else.
google avatar

Yelp
I was super excited to try this place since I've bookmarked it awhile ago. It's a little mom&pop family owned restaurant. My cousin told me their pupusas are great so we tried that and the street tacos. I ordered the passion fruit lemonade w/ asada tacos & a jalapeño/cheese pupusa & she had 4 asada pupusas. The wait is a little long. Upon getting our food, I have to say their pupusas are probably the best I've ever had. Super fresh & made on the spot. The slaw is spicy which is okay - it gives it a nice kick. The street tacos however, not so great. The meat is super dry and it wasn't even hot. I'm just not a fan of dry/tasteless meat but their pupusas are amazing and so was the home made lemonade. Would definitely come back for the pupusas alone.

Dr Leslie W.

Yelp
Wonderful! Food, Ambiance and Service! Remarkable restaurant, a real find! Great place for a romantic couple or a whole group of friends and family.

Nyta B.

Yelp
Great good and menu is large and many varieties. Everything we had has been very good. Owners are very friendly and anxious to make sure the customer is pleased with their meal,
google avatar

Daniel A.

Yelp
The pupusas at this restaurant hit the spot every time. Extremely fresh and served piping hot right to your place. You would never guess a place that served waffles also served the most amazing pupusas but this place does it all! I'm interested in trying the waffles but can't seem to order anything besides the pupusas when I come. There are a variety of flavors to choose from and they were all enjoyable. I even tried the Loroco pupusa which uses the Loroco flower and bud and it was a savory choice. A must visit if your in the area!
google avatar

Marie H.

Yelp
Everything is good!! I always get pollo and asada papusas but seriously everything I've seen them bring out looks like a five star rating

Neil P.

Yelp
Food service is slow and seems disorganized. I had the Philly Steak Sandwich. It was bland greasy the worst I have ever had. The place is clean but you wait for every to receive your food. Others with me complain about the same things. We will not be returning any time soon.
google avatar

Cidney D.

Yelp
I love supporting family owned businesses, especially in the trying time the world is facing. But, it makes it a lot easier to support them when they are absolutely delicious! Now, let me preface this by saying we've only ever had the pupusas and street tacos. We have yet to try their desserts. And the breakfast is on our lists of to-do when we have the time. They make everything from scratch. So yes, you can expect to wait a little longer. But oh my goodness is it worth it. I think by now we have tried every pupusa on the menu. My husbands favorite is the revueltas (pork/bean/cheese) and I love their carne asada ones. But, all of them have been great. I've had their carne asada street tacos. They were yummy! But whatever that green salsa is... they need to bottle that up and sell it! It's mind blowing. The family that owns this is nice and welcoming. They're also really helpful if you're not quite sure what to get. We will definitely be back and have already told our friends to come check it out!
google avatar

Amy C.

Yelp
I have yet to try their breakfast items, so I'm here to review the Salvadorian & Mexican items I've tried. I have tried most of their pupusas, all of which were delicious. My favorites are the bean and cheese and the pork. My hubbys favorite is the carne asada. Their carne asada burrito is great. I really enjoyed their enchilada sauce and the fillings were distributed perfectly throughout the burrito. Each of their tacos were very good as well. It seems like decent quality meat. You can order inside and they'll bring your order out to your car. Its pretty convenient since some times they can take a while to get your order ready. This is definitely my favorite place for Mexican food in the area and the pupusas are addicting!

Misty R.

Yelp
Really tasty papusas and fun selection on the menu. Definitely enjoyed the food, but expensive. Didn't offer military discount so was a little disappointed since prices are so high. We will come here again, but will have to budget for it. Delicious food though and very friendly staff!

Teresa D.

Yelp
Unbelievably delicious food, I've never had anything there I didn't love. Great drink selection, everything is always served hot and fresh. Only downside, is the service. Often takes a long time to get food, refills or the bill at the end. But its worth the wait.
google avatar

Melody K.

Yelp
This place has authentic El Savadorian Pupusas , bomb chicken and waffles and delicious and perfectly made crepes! What more can you ask for? I'll be back over and over again. So happy we found this place!

Mason B.

Yelp
Outstanding food. We really liked the re-fried beans and plantains. The service was phenomenal and they had plenty of space to each. The deserts were delicious but for sure too big for one person to eat we recommend splitting a crepe.

Yelp
Living in Utah, and craving authentic Hispanic food can be rough at times. I found this place on Door Dash, and was delighted to try it. What caught my attention, were the Birria Tacos. I haven't had a legit Birria Taco since my last trip to LA, so the bar was already set pretty high. I gotta tell you, their tacos are mind blowing. Not only are the shells fried with a Birria consume, but the meat is juicy, and there's a lot of cheese; doesn't get better than that. Its that level of deliciousness that makes your brain stop working for minute while you savor the flavors. You also get a dipping cup of the consume, which just completes the whole meal. I also tried their Queso and the Pork Pupusas. These are a thick griddle cake or flatbread from El Salvador and Honduras, made with cornmeal or rice flour. They are absolutely amazing and just melt in your mouth. If you're a Horchata fan, I highly suggest trying theirs. I've had some from other restaurants, but theirs has considerable more flavor. If you 're looking for epic food at a great price, give them a try!
google avatar

Ardeth Z.

Yelp
Oh my Oh my! These are the yummiest pupusas ever! They are made to order and taste exquisite!! Pure Salvadorian Flavor! The new owners continue to serve Breakfast and have added a delicious Salvadorean twist and I am hooked!! Traveled all the way from SLC for these. On Fridays and Saturdays they have antojitos Salvadoreños and I am totally coming back and bringing friends!
google avatar

Madalyn H.

Yelp
I stopped here on a whim while on a roadtrip with friends. It breaks my heart rate I do not live anywhere near this wonderful establishment. If I lived closer, I would be here at least once a week for breakfast. The food was incredible to say the least. I highly recommend the hash browns, scrambled eggs, and pancakes!

Jeff F.

Yelp
This place is really, really good! We usually order to go and the order has never been wrong and is always delicious and made fresh. Every food choice, from crepes to waffles, pupusas, breakfasts, street tacos, etc, is very delicious. I highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Yelp
So good. I'm coming to visit soon. I loved the dip sandwich and the sauerkraut. Try it for yourself.
google avatar

Yelp
The food their is amazing the staff are very friendly they accept Apple Pay Samsung Pay and Google Pay this is the first restaurant that I have been to that has accepted all three of them I love how they can get you food to you the price is great you should go their it doesn't get better than this

Yelp
This restaurant is a hidden gem in Syracuse, Utah that has absolutely incredible food. They serve breakfast all day, so you can drop in for a crepe, a waffle, some pancakes, etc., anytime they're open. This place blows Sill's, Jeremiah's, and any other local, Davis/Weber County cafes out of the water. Like I said, and as far as I can tell, they're still a hidden gem. I've yet to have to wait for a seat here and they make your food quickly. But I'd love to see my new favorite breakfast spot have a line out the door like other, sub par restaurants in the area. Places like this need to be appreciated regularly, you won't be disappointed. Incredible food, kind and quick service, and their portions are very good for the price. Everyone I like has been told to visit this spot for breakfast.
