Went to Wagamama’s with a group of six of us, and we all really enjoyed the food. Everything was tasty, but the firecracker chicken was the standout—absolutely packed with flavor, not overly spicy, just perfect. Also recommend the ricesukare—comforting and delicious. The service was really excellent too—friendly and attentive throughout. Great experience overall. I’d definitely go back!

I’ve been a Wagamama fan for years and have visited many branches across the UK—from London (Greenwich, Richmond, Covent Garden, near King’s Cross, Ealing, Westfield Shepherd’s Bush, and Wembley) to Norwich, and now York. One thing I truly appreciate is that the food quality and taste remain consistently excellent across all these locations—and the York City Centre branch was no exception on that front. The dishes were fresh, flavourful, and reliably delicious, whether it was a comforting ramen bowl or a crispy katsu curry. The brand's commitment to quality and well-executed recipes really shines through, making Wagamama a go-to wherever I travel. That said, the only inconsistency I noticed was in the service speed and overall attentiveness. While the staff in York were friendly, the pace and polish of service didn't quite match the seamless, often quicker experience I’ve had at several London branches. It wasn’t a major issue, but it’s a noticeable difference if you’re used to the more streamlined service found in the capital. Still, Wagamama York is absolutely worth a visit—especially if you're craving that familiar, satisfying meal in a relaxed setting. I’ll certainly be back, and I continue to appreciate the brand’s remarkable consistency in food quality across the country.

Delicious food, always a good standard and child friendly. We recommend the bento box for children and the Yakima soba, pork belly ramen and crispy duck noodles. Always a treat!

Finally, a Wagamama that really shines! I've been to a few Wagamama locations before, and while the food is always good, this particular visit felt completely different—in the best way possible. I wanted to write a review specifically because of how impressed I was with the standards here. First off, the food was delicious, as always. But honestly, what blew me away was the cleanliness. I know it sounds odd to call out the bathroom, but seriously, the toilets were spotless. It was such a noticeable change from my previous Wagamama experiences, and it instantly made me feel better about the whole place. It’s clear they take hygiene seriously, which makes a huge difference. Beyond the setting, the staff made the whole trip. Everyone was kind and thoughtful, but our server, Jasmine, was an absolute gem. She was so genuinely happy and attentive, going above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. It's rare to get service that good, and she really made the meal special. It's great to see a restaurant get the basics so right. If you're hesitant after visiting other branches, give this one a shot. Fantastic food, amazing cleanliness, and genuinely thoughtful people like Jasmine. Five stars!

We were seated immediately by server and shortly ordered our drinks and food. Only took 10-15 mins for all of the stuff to come out to us. Everything was cooked well and tasted delicious. Our server was also very friendly and keen to help. Definitely will be coming back

One of my favourite Wagamamas. Having dined in a fair few Wagamamas over the years, the York restaurant has one of the best settings and atmospheres. Last night, it was a particularly great experience down to our waiter Ben who was very attentive and friendly to our party. The rest of the restaurant staff were also courteous and saw to our needs. The shiitake donburi, the fist time I’ve had the pleasure of eating it, was fantastic and very filling. A great value dish. In thoroughly recommended dining at Wagamama, especially this particular one. Thanks to Ben and the team for a wonderful time.
