I came to Wagaya Ramen with big expectations after hearing good things, but overall it was just okay in terms of taste. I ordered the Hakaya Style Wagaya Ramen, corn tempura, and potato mochi. The corn tempura was definitely the highlight: crispy, sweet, and delicious. The ramen itself was decent but I’ve had better elsewhere. Service was great though, the waiter was friendly, there was no wait to be seated, and the restaurant was clean. The noise level was moderate and the casual ambiance made it a comfortable place to dine. Not bad overall, but not as memorable as I hoped.

It can be a bit difficult to eat here…the parking lot is tiny and there always seems to be people on the waitlist. However, it’s worth it, especially at lunch time for the combo sets. $5 to add on three pieces of gyoza and a side dish…great deals. I got the kuro tonkotsu ramen with the chicken karaage bowl as part of the lunch combo set. Service was very fast. The food was good too. The gyoza was good, the karaage was juicy, and the kuro tonkotsu had a delicious broth with good toppings. Overall great ramen place, the only thing preventing this place from becoming my new go-to is the noodle texture which I think could be improved. But I’ll still be back. @Maui World Travelers, self-described “ramen fanatic” but dislikes tonkotsu, is surprised by ajitama, and did not expect tsukemen broth to be concentrated in flavor when drinking it. Riiiight…

Came here to try the ramen after reading great reviews, was hoping for some “broke da mouth” food but did not find it to be so! - the only thing I would recommend here is the ramen! - Daikon salad was not great, wouldn’t order again! cold tofu was straight out of the box with added green onions and sauce! - Overall prices are high for the food, tip is automatically added for party of 6 or above.

A ramen fanatic's review starts here! A BFF of mine snapped a pic of her and a bunch of potential colleagues grubbing out here. She recommended it, so naturally I bookmarked it and made it a point to try them myself. And drag my spouse along because we both LOVE ramen. ATMOSPHERE: The smallish restaurant is located on the north side of King Street between McCully & Kemole, across from McD's. Parking sucks, but we luckily found street parking just across the way. The inside is newer looking, clean, and sports regular tables only. The tower of booster seats and boxes should be stored elsewhere and not in the dining area. MENU: Japanese salads, apps, ramen, simple desserts, soft drinks & beer. Very simple. FOOD: Edamame Smallish portion dusted with red Hawaiian sea salt. Beans were cooked nicely. I never order this when eating out as I feel you can make them at home lol. But, it was my spouse's choice so... Gyoza These were very nicely done, with crispy bottoms and moist tops. The wrappers were thinner than usual but held up well. The pork was finely grounded and had great flavor. Wagaya Ramen While I'm not fond of tonkotsu broths, if given the option of adding garlic oil, GET IN MY BELLY!!!! I know they offer a garlic version but I didn't want the fried garlic because I'd be tooting songs all night long if you know what I mean. Plus, this selection comes with 2 pieces of char siu instead of 1, and is also topped with choy sum, a spoonful of garlic, slivers of mushroom, a nori square, sesame seeds, and the most delicious soft-boiled egg I've ever tasted. How do they season that gooey yolk like that?! The noodles were whiteish in color and cooked perfect. And the broth... Holy yum. Not heavy or rich like a tan tan, but flavorful, a bit creamy, and oral orgasmic with the added garlic oil. Perfect portion size and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Wagaya Tsukemen My spouse's choice. This is a dipping style ramen, so the noodles and broth are separate. While I didn't try the noodles, the spoonful of broth I tasted was an explosion of savory flavors in my mouth. I'd definitely try this one next! The only downfall was that the cold noodles quickly cooled down the hot broth, but we figured if you were served hot noodles, they'd clump together. SERVICE: We waited about 10 minutes for a table on a Thursday night at 8pm. Our male server was friendly and professional. I recognized one of the owners from the website who takes care of the front of the house. She was also friendly, professional, and refilled our waters. OVERALL: Simple menu, delicious ramen, good prices. WINNER WINNER, 5 STAR DINNER!

Google
I ordered the Garlic Tsukemen at Wagaya and it was phenomenal. The noodles were perfectly chewy, the dipping broth was rich and garlicky with deep umami flavor, and the chunks of tender pork melted in my mouth. Loved the bamboo shoots and greens that added a fresh contrast. Every bite was comforting and packed with flavor. Highly recommend for any ramen lover!

Google
Whenever I'm in the area I always try to stop here for their lunch special. It's such a good deal. They have a few sets to choose from. I always get their garlic ramen, less salty with my noodles firmer. I love that you can customize. Parking lot is small and sometimes there can be a long wait but it's always worth it.

Google
I got the Garlic tsukemen Ramen, Gyoza, and Chicken Karaage. Ramen was overpriced($19) and very small portion. Gyoza was good. Chicken karaage had something in it that made my stomach weezy. I thought it was me but on the last piece I immediately felt it hit my stomach…

Monica M.

Google
Chicken karaage was delicious. Ramen was delicious, we got the kuro. Generous amount of veggies. Broth was not too thick, very seasoned. Eggs cooked perfectly. Dessert was yummy, the mochi added great texture. It can be packed during lunch time.

Yelp
The corn tempura here is my absolute favorite. It's so good and honestly addictive. The balance of sweet and salty is perfect and the corn stays super juicy inside that crispy fried coating. The karaage is also really good, with a light breading that keeps it crispy without feeling heavy. The tonkotsu is great too. I love that you can customize everything from the saltiness to the firmness and thickness of the noodles, and even the spice level. The soft boiled egg was incredibly flavorful, definitely one of the best eggs!

Yelp
Went a few months ago, after a long time away. Then went again. Ramen - Really like the noodles. Tori Shio shiru was a little salty for me. Baby loved it so I had to water it down for her. Whatever meat was in it was so soft. Corn Temp - baby loved. Daikon Salad - baby ate some...but I really like it. Tongue - nice and soft. Choke negi so even better. Baby liked it too. Potato Mochi - a little oily. Too sweet for me, but hubs/baby ate it. Gets busy...luckily we go early b/c of baby's curfew. Workers nice. Pretty efficient. I am not a fan of that lot, but there are enough spaces at night.

Yelp
I saw that Wagaya is one of the best ramen spots here so I wanted to give it a try! We tried coming here for dinner a while ago but saw that the waitlist had 80+ parties ahead of us so this time we went for lunch right when it opened and got seated right away! We ordered the calamari isobeage, house made gyoza, and each got the garlic Wagaya ramen. We enjoyed the calamari, it was crispy and I liked how it was a bit different with the seaweed type of batter. The gyoza was like your standard gyoza, still good though! The ramen was flavorful with a great broth that wasn't too heavy. Service was quick and it does get busy because of how popular it is so come early! Overall, a nice ramen spot and I would come here again.

Yelp
Parking spaces were kind of tight but the restaurant was good. It was clean and felt cozy. Service was amazing and the staff were friendly. Got the tan tan ramen and it was really good! Not too oily and very flavorful. They also gave generous amount of meat. Ahi katsu was crispy and light which was good with the sauce. Would definitely come again to try their other ramen and dishes.

Yelp
Wagaya is one of my favorite ramen spots in Honolulu! The servers are always so nice, they have a waitlist in-person and online to help you gauge how crowded the restaurant is, and their ramen is so delicious! I got the Vegetarian Hiyashi, which comes with a refreshing sesame-style broth and toppings that make it even more flavorful than their other popular ramen dishes. I also love their lunch sets, which are surprisingly filling. I got the C Set with the gyoza and tart, but umami-filled daikon salad. Vibe: The restaurant has many tables and bathrooms in the back. The music isn't loud, so it's easy to have conversations at the table. Parking: They have a small free parking lot in front of the store. The stalls fill up when the area is busy, but there's also street parking available on South King Street.

Yelp
Great spot for ramen and small plates! We got lucky and came right before the rush for dinner. Very easy to order and pay through the QR code. And the food came out super quick! Our server was really nice and we asked her recommendations for her favorite shaved ice.

Yelp
I came here with a group of four at around 11:50 AM. There was already a waitlist however it moves quickly. The restaurant opens at 11:30 and they're usually is already align. Also be aware of parking, the parking lot is shared with a church so make sure you do not park in the church parking lot or else you are at risk of being towed. Anyway, the restaurant is relatively small so if you have to wait, you'll be asked to wait outside. We put our names down again at 11:50 AM and waited. Probably about 15 to 20 minutes. As we were seated, there was already water, napkins, and chopsticks waiting at the table. Since we were waiting outside for our table, we were already able to know what we wanted to order and wasted no time in ordering. The food comes out very quickly and is full of flavor and aroma. The pictures don't do it justice. Each bite was so flavorful and so delicious. It was definitely worth the wait. I ordered the tan tan men, which was spicy however for the day that it was today, it had me sweating. The food portions are relatively large so we left very full. We had four appetizers to share and that might've been a little bit too much food. If you are coming to this restaurant with the group, the receipt allows, you to split the check evenly amongst the group, which is nice. Or you can just pay with the card and your server, whatever is easier for you. This was a great spot to visit if you're in the mood for ramen.

Yelp
My lunch bud and I go out searching for either deals or really good grinds at least once a week. One of our regular spots Hokkaido Ramen in Kaimuki has recently closed, and while we are fond of Onoya, we decided to expand our horizons. Reading Chelsea's ramen reviews always gets the juices flowing... so this week we decided on Wagaya. I had been to Wagaya when they first opened. While I thought it was good, I also thought it was pricey. Of course that was years ago. Looking over the menu today, it seems the prices are quite reasonable. Maybe I was even cheaper back when. But let me tell you, the food was good. I had a tan tan, side karaage chicken, and a Sapporo. The ramen was really tasty. The noodles had a real "bite" to them and the chicken was ono. This cute lady next to us even commented that, it didn't look like karaage... and it didn't. They were rather big pieces, and breast meat. But it was fried perfectly and was very moist. The add-on even came with gyoza. That was good too. Not Taiyo () good, but tasty. I notice that Wagaya, Onoya, Junpuu, and golden pork all have similar ratings. I love all of them. Can't go wrong with any of these. Manichi also.

Yelp
As a self-proclaimed Hakata ramen connoisseur (i loooove Hakata ramen and have tried some of the best Hakata ramen shops in NYC, LA and Tokyo) I was really excited to try Wagaya! However, between the service and taste of ramen, I can only give this place 3 stars. Though they did have a few stand out dishes, aka their appetizers. Appetizers: Potato Mochi & Corn Tempura. These were the best part of our meal! They were very unique and yummy. The chasiu rice bowl was pretty standard, nothing special, and didn't have much flavor. Ramen: So-so. I can't give it 5 or even 4 stars. Mainly because of three things. 1) the noodles were not firm as we had ordered (server told us they make them firm, but they were most definitely soft) 2) the meat in their ramen is really lacking, compared to other ramen shops (they don't give much). 3) the broth isn't very tasty... it's just not impressive. Service: Not great. We waited a long time to be served and have our orders taken & we're not checked in on often enough. My husband wanted to order extra noodles, but they brought us the check without checking in on us once during our meal. Oh well! I did like that they had a lot of tables inside to be seated quickly. Parking: Minimal for the building. There's honestly not a lot of parking and my family had to wait a while for a stall (we had 3 cars total).

Yelp
Authentic ramen in Hawaii?! Yes, please! The owner of this ramen shop is actually from Japan so you know it's gotta be legit! This place is located on King Street with a small shared parking lot in front. We got there around 11:30 and we walked right in. When we were seated they brought my daughter a plastic cup with a straw as well as a plate, bowl, spoon & fork! It's such a nice touch when restaurants think about young children. Now on to the important stuff, what we ordered: 1. My hubby ordered the Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen with Hakata noodles. These are thinner noodles. It was suuuuper garlicky, like you could see the pieces of garlic in the bowl. He loved it. If you love garlic, this is definitely for you! 2. I ordered the Wagaya Ramen (tonkotsu). It was very rich, had lots of veggies and my fav ramen topping, wood ear mushrooms! I got the regular portion and regular noodles and it was such a huge portion, I couldn't finish it! 3. We saw on the back of the menu they had a lunch set add on and opted to get the charsui bowl for our daughter. The lunch deal is you can get a small portion of rice & charsui with 3 pieces of gyoza for $4.50 with purchase of a ramen! What a deal! If you just want the lunch set without a ramen it's ~$9. She loved the charsui. It was small chunks of marinated pork on the bed of rice. Lastly, my hubby commented on how good the soft boiled egg was. First off, they give a whole egg, not just half. Secondly, it's marinated so it has such an umami flavor. Overall, we love this place & prices are reasonable for all the food we got!

Yelp
Food - got black garlic ramen, agedashi tofu, ebi spring roll, potato mochi, lunch c set that comes with three pieces of gyoza and a small daikon salad. Everything is pretty average. Maybe the shrimp spring roll was pretty decent. It's just deep fried shrimp from spring roll as expected. Service super nice people and food came out fast Atmosphere casual

Yelp
One of the best ramen restaurants on Oahu and one of my personal go-to's! My boyfriend and I were craving good ramen so decided on Wagaya for dinner. Ordered several appetizers to share- gyoza, beef tongue, corn tempura, and ahi katsu. Everything was great! Corn tempura was crunchy, ahi katsu came with a dipping sauce of spicy mayo and katsu sauce- went great together! Beef tongue was a little chewy but flavor was good. I ordered the garlic wagaya, boyfriend had hakata style- we both enjoyed our ramens, noodles were cooked perfect. You can also customize with extra noodles, think/standard/thick noodles, firm/standard/soft noodles, extra spice levels. Service was super fast! Our apptizers came out within 10min of ordering followed by our ramens shortly after. Server was attentive and checked on us but they were also super crowded. Small restaurant with only 10-15 tables so wait times can get long sometimes. You can join the waitlist online prior to arriving so your wait there is less. Parking lot is also small and shared with other businesses during the day so sometimes might need to find street parking.

Yelp
I go to wagaya for the tsukemen. If you haven't tried it before, it's like ramen but the flavor is concentrated, thick, smoky. It's just what you want when you don't want some "light" food. You want that heavy, meaty, full flavored stuff. Set meals also available for reasonable prices if you eat a lot. Clean and fast service.
google avatar

Jenna M.

Yelp
Delicious tsukemen! The wagaya tsukemen was a solid portion, with a decent amount of toppings without adding extras. The broth is tasty and thick. Daikon salad a nice start to the meal as well.
google avatar

Shane A.

Yelp
Stopped by for dinner. It's great that you can get on the waitlist from your phone. Arrived and seated in 5 min. I ordered the Hiyashi Tan Tan Men cold noodle dish. Noodles was cooked to a perfect chew. Came with a bunch of toppings and the tan ran cold dipping broth. All in all, pretty good. My family also had the Garlic Wagaya and Tan Tan Men cold noodle both said it was good.

Yelp
This is my boyfriend's favorite ramen spot so when he needs his ramen fix, this is our place to go! One junk thing is that the parking lot is so small and the stalls are very tight. The restaurant is on the smaller side so it tends to fill up quickly. Luckily we went earlier in the evening before the dinner rush so we were quickly seated with no wait time. I got ramen and he got tsukemen which we devoured! I've tried a lot of their appetizers and I've always been impressed. I highly recommend coming here earlier in the evening and try to carpool if you're eating here with a group!

Yelp
Tonight was my first time at Wagaya. It is a fan favorite of my friends so I decided to try it out with her. She gave the amazing idea of signing up for their wait list prior to arriving. It can be done on their website virtually and it moves very quickly and guarantees you a seat when your name is called. Lots of adequate parking in their lot in front. We ordered the cucumber salad and Shiro ramen. The service was very efficient and quick. We got our ramen within five to ten minutes of being seated. My only complaint was that the noodles were a bit hard. We commented this to a server who was kind enough to redo the ramen and presented us with another bowl just as quickly. Unfortunately the second batch was just as hard. I have to say though that the broth was very clean and tasty and there was a good serving size of pork, which was well cooked and juicy, not dry like some other places. The staff was very kind and it was a clean restaurant with what seemed like regulars. Hopefully the noodles were just a one off. Definitely will return to try again.

Yelp
Everything was delicious. Nothing disappointed me and the staff brought out the food very quickly.

Yelp
So I've gone to this place three times and had a bad experience each time I was there. 1st: we signed in thru the iPad thing outside and waited about 15 min. Once the guy came out, he got us and sat us down. We looked inside and no one else was in there. Just two other two tops. I was really confused on why we waited 15 minutes. Then when we ordered everything, the food took a while to come out weirdly. Almost half an hour. 2nd: We were sat near the front door. When we sat down, there was a weird sulfur smell coming from somewhere. We told our waiter if that's a normal thing and he said it happened yesterday and they hadn't fixed it yet. The restaurant was full, so we couldn't sit anywhere else. We were hungry so we endured. *by this time, I thought the food was okay. Never had a need to go back, but a couple of my friends insisted that they wanted to try it themselves because they heard such good things. 3rd and last time: By the third time, I personally didn't like the place. The food was pretty mid and with the last two weird complications I had, I didn't want to be there again. But I gave the benefit of the doubt. Ordered our food and our appetizers. The apps came out and they were different from what we ordered. The waiter went to the back for like 15 minutes so I couldn't question anything yet. We didn't eat our apps til he got back and realized he switched up the orders. He took it back and brought out our ramen. We didn't wait so we ate our ramen. By the time we were done, the correct apps came out. We took it to go, but it was kinda off putting. Never went back. First time was before covid. Second time was after covid. 3rd time was a couple years ago. Ppl do like it. But with my experience with them and from what I have, it's not my personal choice.

Yelp
My honey and I took grandpa to Wagaya on a Thursday night right at 7:45pm. We joined their virtual waitlist about 30 min earlier and were seated right away. The shop is small and cozy, but has tables that sit both 2 people and 8-10. The menu was extensive and we ended up getting the garlic ramen and garlic tsukemen. Both were incredibly flavorful and service was fast. My only criticism was the noodles were a bit over cooked. Next time we will definitely order apps/starters as they looked absolutely delicious coming out of the kitchen. The restaurant is in a little shopping square, and during that hour, parking was easy. We've heard it can be busy around lunch and dinner time, but we're pleased to have such a quick in and out experience with full bellies at the end of the night!

Yelp
A popular place for the local to have a quick Ramen experience. I've enjoyed the Ramen. The service is tentative and friendly it is a Ramen shop. Nothing fancy at all.
google avatar

Maggie S.

Yelp
The ramen was delicious, with a rich, flavorful broth, but I definitely wished it was spicier. I ordered the spicy version, and when I asked, the waiter assured me it was spicy enough--but if you're a true chile lover, it's pretty mild. Also, I wouldn't have minded a bit more meat in the bowl. The atmosphere was...interesting. The waiters were even odder--we could clearly hear them talking about how another place they worked at was way better than this one. Kinda funny but also...why are you saying that out loud? Haha. Overall, I'd recommend it, but I'd also be down to try somewhere else next time!
google avatar

CJ K.

Yelp
Got the garlic tsukemen and I must say that I'm pleasantly surprised. It's a strong garlic broth which I love that's meant for dipping the noodles in then consuming. Usually good ramen costs $20+ but this cost $17-$18. The restaurant can be a little difficult to find so if it's your first time I suggest using a GPS to know what lot to turn in from king street. 5 stars!
google avatar

Elaine L.

Yelp
The ramen here is delicious! I ordered the garlic wagaya ramen and it was so good, I contemplated on ordering extra noddles! We also had the potato mochi, which was less of a mochi texture and more of a flaky potato texture. I don't know if I'd order the potato mochi again, but I could definitely eat the ramen again! Also, beware, parking is tight in this plaza especially during peak hours.
google avatar

Sadie N.

Yelp
Was told this is the best spot to get ramen, but felt it was pretty sub par if not unpalatable for the group I was with. Great presentation, clean space, quick seating with online rsvp and well off corn tempura but wasn't a fan of anything else.

Yelp
After reading the reviews about the crowd, our party of 3 showed up about 15-20 minutes before opening on a Thursday evening. Perhaps the crowd is much smaller on weekdays because it wasn't crowded at all from 5-6pm. We were seated immediately as the first customers. Seems like a well-established mom and pop shop for ramen/noodles in the surrounding area. Service was attentive and friendly throughout our stay. Mini Char Siu Bowl ($6.95): Steamed white rice topped with diced char siu, seaweed, tons of thinly sliced green onion, and shichimi aioli. Not sure if the aioli is usually drizzled but we asked for it on the side which was perfect since we only used a small amount. Good portion for the price and was a win for both adults and a toddler. Garlic Tsukemen ($16.25): Bowl of chilled noodles served with a side hot broth (tonkatsu+fish based) with pieces of char siu, leafy greens, soft boiled egg, bamboo, and green onions. Though the broth was good, it was really lacking the garlic flavor which was what I was looking forward to. Small parking lot within the plaza.

Yelp
Wagaya is definitely my favorite ramen place on the island. The broth is so flavorful and is just as good as the ramen in japan. The waits can get pretty long so it's best to join the online waitlist before getting there. We went right when they opened at 5 and were seated right away and the whole restaurant filled up within 15 mins. Our food came out within 5 mins of us ordering and you can pay the bill online which is very convenient. I got the black garlic tonkotsu with level 2 spice which was a little spicy but very manageable. My fiancé got the shoyu ramen which came with some kimchi bamboo shoots which were really good! Will definitely be back soon.
google avatar

Sungju K.

Yelp
This is the BEST ramen place on the island! I'm pretty picky when it comes to ramen, because I don't like Goma Tei or any other ramen places that have super thick, meaty broth. At Wagaya, not only can you choose the type of broth, but also the thickness and chewiness of the noodles. I've tried about 3 different ramens here, including the vegetarian option, and they have all been excellent. Their appetizers are also amazing. I love coming here! This is the only place I will come to when I'm craving ramen. The service is always great and pleasant, I've never had an issue. There is also plenty of parking available in their small parking lot or on the street. A small tip is to sign up to be on the waiting list on Yelp as you are able to do so, as they often have a long wait line. We usually check the waiting list before heading over to check, and if there's a big line, we make sure to get on the waiting line through Yelp so by the time we get there, we're able to get in pretty much right away! I have nothing but good things to say about this place. I 10/10 recommend it!

Yelp
Same as last time and alot of locals and tourists said this is one the best ramen place they eaten. Food is good as I remembered.

Yelp
First off, wow!!! This spot is a must!!! We ordered the Garlic Tsukemen, Tan Tan Men, Potato Mochi, and Mochi Ice Cream. The Garlic Tsukemen was so flavorful and garlicky; it is a must for garlic lovers like myself! I thought the Potato Mochi sounded interesting at first, but it was so good! It tasted more like potato mochi flour than actual potato which I preferred! I would totally recommend it if you are looking for an appetizer! Everything was so good! The price is very inexpensive too! For everything, it was under $50! Looking forward on coming back to try more of their appetizers!!!

Yelp
Came to Wagaya on a Saturday evening with 4 friends. We waited about 20 minutes before we were sat. The parking lot is very small so we just found some street parking. We got the corn tempura to share which had a fun, almost mochi like texture. I got the garlic wagaya ramen, which did not skimp on the garlic flavor. The broth was rich and delicious, although I would have like a bit more pork.
google avatar

Fed U.

Yelp
Really great noodles! I love ramen noodles that have chew and hands down... noodles winna!!! The vegan broth is good, wished they had more broth options. The chili cucumbers hit the spot and the Agedashi tofu (no dashi) is ono and pillowy.

Yelp
Arrived 15min before opening time at 11:30am. They start accepting customers exactly at 11:30am. Not a long line today, but I've heard people start lining up. There was 1 other couple ahead of us today (Fri), but as soon as it was around 11:45am, more people started to arrive and the restaurant was nearly full. The parking lot is on the small side, and holds approx 15 vehicles. However, this lot is shared amongst the other businesses in the plaza. It wasn't in the nicest area, so definitely a different scenery from the Waikiki strip. Nothing luxurious. I didn't feel unsafe though. We were seated right away, and after our orders were taken, our items came out pretty fast. We ordered the corn tempura (hot, crispy, a bit salty, but good, didn't have to dip in the side of salt crystals they provided), shiro tonkatsu ramen, and garlic tonkatsu ramen. The neat thing about this ramen joint is that they allow customers to choose the type of noodles (thin, thick, standard), the level of spiciness (none, mild, med, spicy, etc), and the saltiness of the broth (standard, less salt, etc). I ordered standard for all options and added corn, and it wasn't salty at all. The broth was creamy, not too salty like other tonkotsu ramen places, and the noodles tasted great. The garlic tonkotsu ramen was good too- thick noodles, medium spicy (wasn't too bad, just a kick to it). The portions are decent. We ended with their yuzu citrus sorbet, which was refreshing. It tastes just as it sounds- citrus yuzu in sorbet style. So nothing special, but was refreshing after a savory meal. In Oahu, I would say this is one of the best ramen places, however, back at home, there are a few really good ramen places that would top this place. Regardless, no complaints on the food and service. The restaurant seems like a typically Japanese ma and pa shop. The restroom wasn't the cleanest, and the ramen soup was a bit worn out (at least the one I had). I guess some wouldn't mind it, but it low key got to me, although I ate with it regardless.

Yelp
We went 30 minutes before closing, and they were still accommodating with us. I got the fish broth, which was a unique taste, and the egg was very nice. It had a good consistency.

Yelp
Our wedding videographer recommended this ramen spot to me and my husband, so we gave it a try. There's a parking lot but there weren't a lot of free spaces. The restaurant had a slight wait time. The tsukemen was not bad but it wasn't the best I've had in Oahu.

Yelp
Service was fast and friendly. Great ramen and you can customize spiciness level and even the firmness of the noodles. Try the beef tongue!

Yelp
Wagaya is one of my all time favorite spot for a hearty bowl of ramen. No lie, once you try their tonkotsu ramen you'll be hooked! Now, let me tell you why Wagaya is such a gem. Their signature Wagaya ramen is simply divine. The broth is rich and packed with flavor, and their noodles are cooked to perfection! The char siu is tender and flavorful, and the ajitama egg is just heavenly. Gooey yolk perfection, folks! The appetizers that we got were also very tasty. And service at Wagaya is spot on. So why not make a visit? If you're looking for an authentic Japanese ramen experience that will leave your taste buds dancing, then Wagaya is the place for you. I promise you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Really appreciated the waitlist function at Wagaya. We ate here around the holidays, which was a very busy time but had no problem adding our names online and making it to dinner on time. The corn tempura appetizer was very unique but it is not a huge portion for the price. The Ramen on the other hand is a great deal, very flavorful and filling.

Yelp
Definitely worth the wait. Make sure to join the waitlist. It does get crowded very fast. The broth is rich, and full of flavor. It's authentically close to having Ramen in Japan. Get the extra noodles if you are hungry. Great service staff.

Yelp
Delicious Ramen with unique appetizers and great service. Lots of tables, good for families. Enjoyed the chili cucumbers, corn tempura and potato mochi, yasai harimaki spring rolls. Our garlic pork ramen was savory with a huge portion. There is small parking lot that can get tight during dinner hour. Great spot near UH.

Yelp
Seating is very limited so get there early. Simple but TASTEFUL menu, highly recommended the 'Sparerib Tan Tan Men' and the Regular 'Tan Tan Men', the flavors of the broth is unforgettable and the way the sparerib was SOFT AND COOKED PERFECTLY. Definitely worth a round 2!

Yelp
1st time there I live to find hidden gems. Read plenty of the reviews but my son 13 yrs old, chose this spot. We're both Ramen heads. Took a short walk there from Waikiki, not hard, not sketch if not late He had the Black Garlic I was surprised he chose that. He usually stays in his lane with new places and ramen. But I guess magical things happen to people when visiting the islands. I'm adventurous when trying new spots. I had the spare rib with char sui ramen. Forgot to ask for spicy! No line, sat down immediately, we may have beat the dinner rush but it was early evening on a weekday . First : Staff was friendly acknowledged us right away they were always moving, tables were cleaned up after parties left , quick to take your order, food came out surprisingly quick for a busy spot Food: Black garlic ramen: garlicky, rich, whole soft boiled egg ,surprised us Noodles al dente and had good bite on the ramen noodles Spare Rib & Char Sui ramen Solid clean broth, 2 off the bone super tender moist pork spareribs Loaded with ample amours of thin Char sui to my pleasant surprise. Ramen Noodles al dente , again good bite on the ramen noodles. Of course I tried his bowl too Order the belly appetizer with a 50/50 dipping sauce of tonkatsu sauce and some mild spicy mayo aioli - solid appetizer The star of the meal : In house made Gyzoa We ordered 2 not 1 order of gyoza It was soo good I had to flag down a waiter and order the 2nd order while in mid meal. Prices reasonable Place clean They share a parking lot with Mamma Woo's We're contemplating going back but we have limited time her on the island and Soo many good ramen spots to try Hope this helps. Yelp
We have been to Wagaya a few times and each time, it has been a solid spot for noodles and appetizers. The parking lot is small and tight and the restaurant itself is also not very big. Without a reservation, we have had to wait each time. Sometimes the wait is pretty long but other times we were seated quickly. The restaurant is clean and the staff are efficient and kind. The menu has a good amount of options for noodles and appetizers. We like to get the chicken karaage and have tried the potato mochi, gyoza, chili cucumbers, and yasai harumaki. We enjoyed all of these appetizers but usually go for the karaage because it is one of our favorites. I usually get the garlic wagaya ramen, which I thought was very flavorful and filling. The broth has been rich and the portion has been decent. We look forward to continuing to go in the future!

Yelp
I've eaten here a handful of times (dine-in and take out) and I've always been impressed by their service and food. But we recently ordered take out and while the ramen was great, we ordered a tako karaage and it was just sad looking. Totally not worth the price at almost $9.00. So, yes, ramen is great (normally get the wagaya ramen), but the tako karaage was sad.

Yelp
Ambiance is ok, small place. Call ahead or show up when they first open. Food was good. Service was a bit slow but average. Food selection was good as well as drink options.

Yelp
Every year when we come to Honolulu this is always one of our first stop. This year the ramen noodles were a little hard. My suggestion is that the server should ask the customers if they want their noodles hard, medium or soft like they do I Japan.

Yelp
I came here with my Aunt who has come here multiple times in the past. We got here as soon as they opened and we got a seated immediately. There were 5 other groups of people waiting for the five o clock opening. We had an amazing server, Nicole, who within seconds of us sitting, brought us water and asked if we needed anything. The parking was great since they have a parking lot for the restaurant. The inside of the restaurant was clean and had lots of cute artwork!! We first ordered the daikon salad which we were so excited to try, that we didn't even take a photo. The sauce was perfectly distributed among the finely diced vegetables with the bonito flakes. Next we ordered potato mochi, it was excellent. The texture was amazing as well as the sauce. I wanna try making it at home. The gyoza was deep fried and tasted great!! The pepper teba (fried chicken wings) was aunties favorite because of the garlic sauce and the crispy outside. The yuzu sorbet was AMAZING!!! We loved the soft flavor of yuzu, would definitely get again. The tan tan ramen was savory and came with so much meat.

Yelp
A great place to get ramen in town. I love their garlic ramen and their chicken kaarage! I recommend! Staff is always really nice. There's a small parking lot out front. Haven't had issues getting parking. They don't take reservations but they have a website you can put your name on a waitlist before heading to the restaurant. It also lets you know how many people are ahead of you, so makes it very convenient.

Yelp
Tasty, rich broth. Nice arrangement of seating. Service was good. Left feeling full, wish there was a little more meat.
