Wagyu Ichinoya Asakusa

My fiancée and I pre-selected this spot for our Asakusa itinerary. After exploring Nakamise-dori and Senso-ji, we walked straight over here around 11:30-ish where we were 3rd in line. As soon as we got in place, a line rapidly grew behind us out of nowhere within the span of like 20 min. Bonkers. At around 11:40, a waitress came out to distribute physical menus to the first 5 groups in line. I opted for the melting tenderloin steak box which used wagyu tenderloin (also only had a limited quantity of these available) and came w/ an onsen egg, beef broth, condiments, pickles and miso soup. My fiancée got the yakiniku rice bowl which used japanese kalbi and was served with pickles, miso soup and an onsen egg. We were able to try a bit of each other's meat. The steak was sliced thin and cooked rare in my box. You are supposed to eat 1/3 of the box as is, then mix in the onsen egg for the next third and then for the final third of the box, mix in the beef broth and enjoy it that way. They also give you a dollop of real wasabi to help cut back on some of the richness of the beef if you want to mix it in. The steak was super tender and the resto uses koshihikari rice (which is one of my fave, short grain rices). My partner's box came w/ japanse riblet meat or japanese kalbi. It was also spectacular, despite being a lil different texturally (had a bit more bite) compared to the "melt-in-your-mouth" feel of my steak box. My box was 5000 yen. My partner's was 2000 yen. The service was great and the food was delicious! There wasn't a single grain of rice left in my box and I crushed all the beef broth and condiments too!

One of the best meal I had in Tokyo. I highly recommend their Top Rare Steak Stack. The meat was really tender and very flavorful. There is an instruction on the table on how you should eat this meal. My personal favorite was having a portion of the dish into a bowl and putting the broth, transforming it into a soup dish. Their Yakiniku Ju was also good as the meat was still juicy, tender and delicious. My advise is to come before they open so you can avoid long queue.

Delicious rare beef in Asakusa! Went here on a Saturday after lunch rush hours (around 3:30pm) and there was no queue, so my group of 4 were seated immediately. Staff were super friendly and spoke good English. The beef was soft and delicious, and when mixed with the raw egg yolk it was extra creamy and flavoursome. The beef broth poured over the remaining beef and rice was the highlight and a great way to finish the satisfying meal!

We went here last minute for dinner at 19:10 and luckily just a spot for two became available and they accepted us! I was a bit worried because it was close to closing time. The staff is very kind and helpful! Last order is at 19:30. The food came super quickly and by 19:43 we were already finished. It was super delicious and the raw meat was so tender! The Yakiniku was less tender but also very tasty! Although if you are going here I would recommend choosing the rare steak!

The food was exceptional. The menu consists of 1 dish with 4 different grades of beef. It varies from about 3500 yen to 6500 yen. The beef is served rare but you can ask to cook more. Foreigners often don't know how the meal should be experienced so I suggest you read the instruction card. The Beef stock was delicious 😋 but the niso soup was not so good. There are only 16 seats so you may have to queue up for a while. I love my steak rare but medium steak was better here adding smokiness i thought.

There is a wait so I’d recommend coming before open unless you want to risk it during the day since it’s by the sensoji strip temple! 10000000/10 amazing quality, every bite is delicious, and you can eat it in multiple ways. Will be coming back for sure!

Very nice cozy setting with a small eating area for about 12 people. We had a short 15 min wait around opening time but was very much worth it! It was one of the best meals I’ve had in Japan so far. The wagyu was so soft and buttery, and there were instructions for eating the steak with different steps. It was a great experience and would definitely come here again!

Top Rare Steak Stack, Top Quality Cheteaubriand . Amazing wagyu selection! Really melt in your mouth and taste even better every time you chew! Also, it dissolves in your mouth by itself when you chew longer! Both come with egg and beef broth. Most importantly, they give you guide on how to enjoy. Cheteaubriand has gold sprinkle on top. 👍🏻 . #jpfoodies #jpfood #wagyu #steak #beefbroth #raresteak
