I think this was one of the best meals I had in Tokyo during my recent trip to Japan. I originally discovered the restaurant through various Instagram videos, which is what led us there.
When we arrived, my fiancé got in line—there were probably about 10–15 people ahead of us. While he was waiting, I walked over to read the sign outside to look at the menu. To our surprise, it mentioned another location just about a one-minute walk away. At first it was a bit confusing, but after looking more closely at the map on the sign, I was able to find it.
We decided to try that location instead, and luckily there were only four people ahead of us in line. It turns out it’s essentially the same restaurant with the same menu—just a newer or lesser-known location nearby.
The photos might look a bit intimidating at first since the meat appears very rare, but it’s incredibly flavorful. They also provide instructions for three different ways to eat the dish, which made the experience unique, interactive, and even more enjoyable. Overall, it was memorable, delicious, and definitely one of the highlights of my meals in Tokyo.
