This was hands down the best meal we’ve ever had. The whole experience was incredible from the fun of watching the chefs cook right in front of you, to the warm and friendly service. You take your shoes off and sit at a beautiful high-end bar, which makes it feel special and intimate.
The wagyu itself was unforgettable. The sirloin cut was out of this world, and even the thinly sliced tongue was amazing so flavorful and tender. The wagyu tail soup was rich and comforting, and we even upgraded to try another version of the tongue sirloin, which was absolutely worth it. By the end we were happily stuffed.
The staff made the night even better, incredibly kind, and when we left in the rain they even handed us an umbrella. Since it was our honeymoon, they surprised us with a dessert tray topped with a sweet little plaque that made the evening so memorable.
Also little PSA: if you haven’t had plum wine, know that it’s not like a rosé, it’s more like a dessert wine. Super high quality, but just a heads-up for anyone who doesn’t love sweeter drinks.
This was a truly unforgettable dining experience in Kyoto, cannot recommend it enough!!
