I would not recommend. The food was so salty. I don't see how you can mess up crab rangoons, but they did somehow because of the salt. Overall The food was very dry and not tasty. It had so much salt that I had a terrible headache less than an hour after eating the food.

Great place with delicious Chinese food👌clean and good service delivery.

Google
Great customer service! It's a small family shop. Very cozy. I ordered the wrong item and the guy was very nice and redid my order for me. The pork lo mein was good but the fried rice was a little dry.

Suellen M

Google
I ordered something very simply, like one of their COMBO plates and was shocked at the delicious amount of flavors and how well made it was. Will definitely order again! great food with great pricing. Things were really well made. LOVED IT! will visit in person soon.

Google
I have tried different Chinese places; so far, the worst. This place really missed the mark, not even close to authentic. The rice was soggy, the chinger fingers were too greasy and unflavoreHonestly, I've had better takeout from the grocery store freezer aisle. Definitely won't be going back there again.

Google
I got a pupu for 2, beef was raw, chicken was still pink, egg rolls were raw in the middle and the vegetable lo mein tasted like seafood do NOTTTTT recommend

Google
It's a hit or miss when it comes to food. There's days you'll order the food for pickup and ended up with some of the item been sitting there for hrs and ended up cold. Days the food was warm and hot and they just got it done. Seems like they just did a quick warm up to the food.

Ive been coming here for over 25 years! Ive always loved wah sang! Their quality and great taste has stayed consistent as well. 😊

Yelp
Not sure what all the bad reviews are for honestly I've had so many people telling me how good it is and wasn't expecting to see all the negative comments when I looked them up!! I had just got eating and was very satisfied!!! I got the fried rice cooked extra dark and it was perfect!! The crab ragoons were AWESOME!!! Light and crispy and very creamy inside with some of the best duck sauce I've ever had!! Chicken fingers were very good also all filled with white meat chicken not all batter like most places. Very misleading comments some of them make the place sound dirty and unsanitary which is DEFINITELY not true!!! The restaurant is one of the cleanest places you will ever eat at everything spotless and well maintained... Well worth checking out

Jonathan T.

Yelp
I have been eating here for well over 15 years, I don't live in MA anymore but by god do I make sure I eat here at least once if I'm nearby. Crab Rangoon is the best around

Jorge S.

Yelp
Disturbing ... smh T R A S H and overpriced. Never coming back here I was extremely disappointed

Yelp
It's Chinese fast food take out - you can't really expect too much from it. Here's what we think: Good: - beef skewer - fried shrimp wanton - chicken wings Maybe don't get: - chicken skewer (super dry)

Yelp
Wah Sang restaurant is horrible I have been stolen from my money I order and their food is horrible it smells like stinky feet they are horribly rude there is no customer service they overcharged I was charged for food that was not edible and should have been hot the price less than half the price and it smelt so bad I had to throw it away they are horrible people rude difficult I tried so hard to explain why I wanted a refund and I was yelled and screamed at by a woman that could barely speak English it's so evil was saying is horrible their food is horrible and they keep thinking that they're going to get away with this we need to stand up against people pigs that take advantage because they are racist to steal my money for food that I could not eat and when I tried to resolve it called asked for help every single time it was not resolved disrespected and screamed at it's evil was saying is evil God Bless America

Yelp
This is an old favorite of mine. I have to have it everytime so come home to MA, however they have significantly raised their prices! My mom told me but I figured she was being extra frugal but many of my friends all said the same thing and said they now avoid it because they felt the price increase and smaller portions was not justified. I did end up getting food from there and I do have to say the quality is still good, yes the portions are slightly smaller and I don't remember the previous prices. The crab rangoons are always crunchy and yummy. I felt like the filling is more cream cheese than any other flavor/filling and it didn't used to be that way, but it was still yummy. The beef friend rice has big chunks of tender beef which was exactly how i remembered it, so that has not changed. Overall it's a classic staple of the area but the locals are definitely not happy with the price increase.

Yelp
Maybe because I'm older, but chewing the Orange or General's chicken is taking alot more work than my younger days. Also, I feel like they use alot more batter/coating on their chicken. As for the Kung Pao Chicken, that was rather bland and didn't have any flavor at all. General's chicken is my go to, but Wah Sang is definitely a miss on this one. Also, they cut them in rather huge chunks and don't even add broccoli like other restaurants. I miss the old days when they were really good and my mum would frequently get us this for dinner.

Yelp
Always hot and fresh here , been coming for years! Lots of room to sit no waitstaff large area to eat in great people and food ! Excellent Duck Also!

Yelp
Bro that place is terrible, not only did they give me the wrong order they don't clean their chicken, they just tossed it in the oil. I went to get food my fucking chicken had feathers on it... deep fried feathers Their food is only good when you're drunk and can't see what you eating
google avatar

Yelp
Wah Sang is a decent Chinese food place. Better than most middlesex places that I have been to! The food is decent, I ordered the pu pu platter it did not disappoint. I like there fried rice with lobster sauce. It had the right consistency for my taste. The staff is friendly & the place is nice. I recommend this place for a quick bite.
google avatar

Tamiko A.

Yelp
Overpriced and not all that tasty especially that pork fried rice stored in a big garbage can. The price of rice is not $24 y'all making a killing off a $1 bag of white rice.
google avatar

Yelp
This restaurant has never good, and keeps constantly improving downwards, unfortunately is the closest we have. Recently we order beef chowfoon, which had funny smell and taste, it was not made Chinese style, it tasted and looks as if made by Laotian, Thai or something, not Chinese either that or a lousy cook. The fried rice was old and dry as a bone, the egg Foo young was watery, as if eggs weren tcook, the egg roll was chewy, not crispy, at $40, definitely not worth, and always keep changing prices, higher of course!!! Is it under new management?

Yelp
We were craving for some quick Chinese takeout and found this on Yelp. It's a typical casual Chinese joint with some quirky Asian decors and at a glance, it looks decent enough for people to dine here. Peppered Chicken Wings- My favorite out of the three we picked. Delicious salty and mildly spicy. Sweet & Sour Chicken- Super sweet sauce that's separated from the chicken fingers for dipping. Not bad for an American style Chinese food. Beef Chow Foon- Wah Sang Restaurant, why was your beef so tough? I ended up eating only the noodles. Overall Service: I ordered this online. When I got there, they seem a little confused when I gave them my name. They asked for the order # which was a bit strange because that's not something I look at when I order online. I told them the items I ordered and they scrabbled around to checkout all the takeout bags to find my food. Seem inefficient. Owell!

Yelp
I love this place. They're open super late and I've never had an issue with the quality of the food. I never expect anything extra fancy from them so it always comes out way better than I expect (especially for like 2am). Plus they've got a huge menu. I've never been disappointed a single time, and they've never ever messed up my order. And they have even delivered my food after they were closed because the online ordering site got messed up. It was really really nice

Yelp
I know I'm long overdue for a review. After going to my favorite chinese food takeout place, and the food isn't the same, I never went back. They probably had a new cook. This place used to be my last resort and least favorite for chinese takeout back in the days until I moved to Philly for 7 years and came back to visit. That has changed. They have their days of good food and bad food but most of time my food is pretty good. Gave them a three stars because its never consistent with their food tasting and delivery sometimes take over an hour to get to me. It's something they need to work on. Boyfriend doesn't like ordering in or going in to do takeout because one of the lady that works behind the counter is always seem rude so we just sticks to takeout delivery.

Yelp
It was late, and I needed food; I didn't eat all day. I pulled up to this spot ‍ this is honestly the worst Chinese food I've had. Chicken fingers Weren't cooked properly. The batter wasn't cooked. General tso tasted like BBQ chicken. It was very weird Egg Fried rice was good, but how can you mess up rice. Very over priced as well I paid $30 for a plate and small chicken fingers. This restaurant just isn't for me.

Polly X.

Yelp
Ahhhhh.....this is used to be my favorite Chinese takeout spot. The taste of the food is not good anymore. Go to the Methuen location. Their Chinese food is fresh and tasty.

Yelp
Thank you for bringing that 90's tasting lobster sauce back, garlicky and sweet. Who ever cooked today..keep them!! (5.2.2021) Everything else was good too!!
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Rude service. The food that was delivered to us smelled like cigarette smoke. The delivery took 1.5 hrs when they said it was going to be 30 minutes. And finally, their egg drop soup (pictured) is literally scrambled eggs and water.
google avatar

Robo T.

Yelp
Orange chicken white rice plate was just okay. It did have a good amount of chicken though. Peking raviolis were very good. Place was busy and the kitchen was efficiently cranking out the orders.
google avatar

Yelp
This is what chow mein is supposed to be, change the name on the menu it's not fair to be making up food and calling it something that it is not. I was so confuse I thought I knew what chow mein was they tried to act like thEy didn't just make it that up godbless
google avatar

Yelp
We ordered food here for take home on Halloween. The food is yummy, the egg rolls especially. We ordered a pu pu for 3, house fried rice and extra egg rolls. Ghe only issue was that they threw us for a loop with the crab Rangoon. There were six crab rangoon looking things but only two were crab Rangoon, the other four consisted of two shrimp and two curry beef. Some us expect crab rangoon. It just wasn't cool that they didn't make it clear.

Mckayla S.

Yelp
Worst experience ever, workers are disrespectful and food was very bland. There order online option is very deceiving. Over priced for its quality in my opinion and THERE WAS A HAIR IN MY SAUCE!! ( although small still very unsanitary)
google avatar

Jerome D.

Yelp
Wah Sang has gone downhill recently. Chicken fingers were overcooked with chewy lousy tasting batter. Chicago chow mein was lousy with a bad aftertaste. Spring rolls were greasy. Spare ribs were fatty but o.k. Crab rangoons were too sweet and gross. Pepper wings were decent. The chicken in the chicken lo mein was very overcooked. General Gau's was mediocre at best. Prices are still good but the food just was NOT up to par. I will try it again but strike 1 for sure.
google avatar

Yelp
Place was pretty good considering it was late night. We went there to eat after having a few drinks at a local bar. The bbq pork was very flavorful, chicken wings was fried perfectly crispy. Good for a quick bite on the go!

Dj J.

Yelp
DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!!!! Just had the worst experience with them I have ever had and I've had some bad ones. As always calling in for delivery they rush you off the phone when you try to pay by card. Waiting for delivery ... Hour passes and we call, Rushing us off the phone confirmed our street" He's on the way". Hour and a half we call, Oh it's sitting here ... We state we want fresh food because it's been sitting over an hour. They get here 2 hours + after the order and it's ice cold. Driver never takes payment so we figured they knew they were sending us cold food... last time we go there but whatever. They call 20 minutes later asking for payment of this food that sat out for 2 hours and chicken fingers / shrimp was hard... After many years we are DONE. Spoke to the owner, he offered 50% off. I let him know if I pay for this we will never order again because it was horrible.

Yelp
I stopped coming here because the prices have gone up but they are open late and are clutch in a pinch. However, I honestly hate coming here because of the awful service. The large woman with the glasses that takes your order takes her sweet time before taking your order. And instead of a proper greeting, she's says "YEAH?!" as if you're an inconvenience by giving her your business. Do better Wah Sang, do better.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
Grew up in Lowell so Wah Sang has been there as long as I can remember. Used to be really good for the price. Prices have gone up a lot, and just doesn't taste as good. A 504 combo costs about 10 dollars now compared to the 5 or 6 it used to. I get the craving for chinese take out every now and then, but I feel like for that price Panda or Sarku might be a better option.

Yelp
Wah Sang is a typical fast service Chinese restaurant which is open late until 2AM and 3AM (Fri & Sat), dine-in, takeout and delivery. The place is an order at the counter place with open kitchen and self serve seating. They serve up the standard Chinese dishes including Cantonese and Szechuan dishes & chef's specialties including Chow Foon Noodles, Moo Shu, Curry Beef Puffs, Hawaiian Beef, just to name a few. They also offer a good variety of Combination Plates ($3.95-$9.25) and White Rice Specials ($5.50-$6.95). However, they charge 80 cents more for the mini appetizer combinations #502-#507 after 3PM & all day Saturday and Sunday. There's also a dedicated counter offering bubble tea and smoothie drinks made to order, with several flavors to choose from. Whenever I've stopped in at Wah Sang for Chinese takeout, I usually order the Combination #502 Egg Roll, 3 Crab Rangoons, & Pork Fried Rice, which is just the right amount of food to enjoy in one sitting. The egg roll is pretty good, which is filled with a good mix of minced cabbage, ground pork, & spices. The crab rangoons are crispy outside, but the filling is mostly cream cheese. The pork fried rice is okay and very basic, which has tender roast pork pieces (some fatty) and the rice is cooked soft. The service is pretty quick and friendly. Overall, 3.5/5.0 stars.

Yelp
Probably the worst Chinese food you'll ever have. But after a night of drinking they're the only place open. So if you're drunk and don't give a ratts ass head in over here for some luke warm not at all fresh Chinese take out. I saw another person post that this place was "Modern" and nice, etc. clearly she was mistaken this for another place. It's a typical old dirty beat down take out place in need of a face lift.
google avatar

Paul H.

Yelp
If you're in a hurry and have a sudden urge to have Chinese food, Wah Sang is the place to go in Highlands of Lowell. The food is cheap, fast, and filling. Its location is also conveniently situated next to the highway. So if you're on the go, you can pull into the parking lot and go in to order your food. The staff is friendly. It's usually 2 cashiers in the front who takes your order and probably 4 chefs in the kitchen on a busy night. Aside from the food, staff and location, the interior needs some work. Wah Sang needs a face lift. The interior have been the same ever since I was a little. If it had a major remodeling job, it would definitely attract more customers like China Star. I don't recommend using their bathroom because it's small. Other than that, they have a new flat tv screen in the dining area. My recommendations on what to order from Wah Sang are: 1) Combination # 11 - Chicken Fingers, Beef Teriyaki, Boneless Ribs, and Pork Fried Rice for $8.25. 2) Combination #504 - Chicken Finger, Crab Rangoon, and Pork Fried Rice for $4.55 *80 cents after 3pm. 3) Hot and Sour Soup - small $3.25 large $5.50 *This is the best soup from this restaurant! 4) Lobster Sauce - small $3.95 large $5.95

Yelp
Just ordered a small boneless spare ribs and a small beef teriyaki I wanted a large but they wanted to charge almost $30 for a large so I had to settle for a small ordered it for delivery call my phone and say that they're outside my apartment when they are literally up the hill about seven houses away from mine I had to call back to the restaurant and tell them oh yeah they called me and said that they were outside and they were up the hill was standing there on my front porch for 5 and 1/2 minutes waiting for them to drive down the hill and I told him I was outside and they were not at my house are you kidding me got food poisoning from there four times before and I was craving Chinese food because of pain medication that I'm on so they were the only place open so I'm giving them one more try if I get sick again there is going to be serious problems

Yelp
Babe's favorite Chinese Restaurant when he's back home in Lowell. He brags about this place all the time. Finally, I'm in town to actually try Wah Sang. Babes always order his chicken finger with number #13. It has fried rice, BBQ pork, fried shrimp wonton, and fried chicken wings. Chicken finger and fried chicken wing is okaaaay, not a fan. Fried wonton shrimp is super plain. It's just the shrimp wrapped in wonton. I can make better fried wontons. The only thing I like from Wah Sang is the fried dumplings and chow mien. Other than that, it's okaaay. It's just I had much better authentic Chinese food. Come to San Gabriel Valley in California! A lotttttt to choose from!*(: I give it 4 Stars only because babe's loves it. Otherwise, I'll give it 3 stars. San Gabriel Valley, CA. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3n3HQ9uge0g http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cjqLRqngYU

Yelp
Typical chinese food, doesn't taste like anything special, but if you're in a hurry and looking for something cheap this is definitely the place to go. (Especially during the week lunch hour!) $5 bucks for a lunch special.. I've always gotten food to go but the actual sit down area looks nice. Staff is alright, not the friendliest.
google avatar

Dave C.

Yelp
The food is decent.  I prefer my rice a bit darker and the wings a bit crispier but have been noticing unsanitary goings on.  The host was idle and went to mop after taking my order.  He did his mopping and then bagged my food without washing his hands. Sorry. That's a no no.   The fortune cookies were stale.
google avatar

Vannsok M.

Yelp
I would t even give a star but it's just for the sake of white rice and for those saying "oh cheap skates be hating" fuck you and your tasteless opinion. That baby cow has an attitude like a spoiled child. Don't eat there if you have a job or career, but if your homeless and struggling this is your Chinese restaurant.
google avatar

Suzanne R.

Yelp
The worst chinese food I've ever had, hands down. Ordered Chicken w Cashew Nuts. Dish was sad basic veg (bamboo shoots, cabbage, a few carotts and mushrooms) with chunks of white meat chicken scattered on top. Chicken very obviously added to the dish, not mixed in. A small bag of stale cashews was offered on the side. The worst was the sauce. Remember the chicken chow mein in a can? With the thick kinda gray sauce? That. We also ordered the string beans in garlic sauce. The beans were good, fresh and not overcooked. Sauce was scant and tasteless. The order of fried wontons was great - hot, crispy and with sweet and sour sauce for dipping. Get some wontons for a quick snack and find another restaurant for Chinese Food!!!!

Yelp
Tried the hot and sour soup tonight for the first time... it was delicious! Just the right amount of "hot" (to make your nose run lol) and a very nice balance of flavors. Could be a new favorite. We order from here on occasion and don't ever have any complaints. Nice neighborhood place.
google avatar

Bobby L.

Yelp
The beef teriyaki is fire and the delivery is on point. Open late every night, especially the weekends.

Ashley D.

Yelp
I remember being young my gma would come here every weekend and it was pretty good. I only ordered tonight for the curry beef puffs, but also got orange chicken with white rice and beef mushroom with white rice or should I say mushrooms with string style beef... also the orange chicken tasted so badly of under cooked corn starch and there was no spice at all.. now the main event curry beef puffs. It was more like ground hamburger in a over cooked shell... what a waste not to mention i pre tipped and the DELIVERY person didn't even DELIVER.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is an institution in Lowell. It's been around for lord knows how long, and it doesn't show any signs of slowing down. Also, I don't think I've ever gotten food here before 11PM. It's just american-chinese food, extra greasy, and given in large quantities at a reasonable price. If you think Wah Sang is indicative of authentic Chinese food.. then you need to get out more often. That being said, Wah Sang does it the best in the area.
google avatar

Cee J.

Yelp
Ordered minute chicken over cake noodles, for some reason they had no idea what that was. I explained it's some kind of marinated chicken over noodles which is crispy on the top and softer on the bottom. The guy did not understand what I meant after explaining it for a good min, so he passed it over to a lady. Explained it to her and she didn't even understand it either. I get there's a language barrier so I was nice about it and explained it best I could. Guess she got tired of understanding what I wanted and she said do you want chicken lo mein and I said yeah that's fine. I also asked for crispy gau gee and she didn't even know what the hell that was?? I told her it's fine let me just get the lo mein. Got the plate delivered and I ended up getting a plate of little chicken pieces covered with a soup of bean sprouts and onions. I'm not the one to complain and give bad reviews but damn really? How does chicken with noodles interpret to chicken in a bed of soup beansprouts and onions. I even gave the guy a $5 tip for a $12 order.
google avatar

Kunal P.

Yelp
Yukky...full with grease and soy sauce. There is no taste in the food that they make.. Still not sure why people like this place.

James H.

Yelp
Worst restaurant in Lowell for many years. You NEVER get hot take out & I suspect that they re-sell the beef teriyaki & probably other leftovers as they are ALWAYS dried out, cold as ice & packed with sauce to hide the smell! I just went there for the 1st time in 10 years because the normal place I go to was closed & absolutely NOTHING has changed as they will always be the worst place to eat in Lowell Mass PERIOD by far as at least other places get it right sometimes but not Wah S%^t Sang!
google avatar

Peter P.

Yelp
The establishment's probably as old as the employees. Which is pretty old. Classic's a good thing though, right? Food As far as the fast food portion goes, it's pretty good. They're known for their cheap combos, and speedy service. That's just it though, try not to order anything outside of the combo menu. I made this mistake with the "Curry Beef and White Rice". It had a slight curry taste to it, but otherwise it was pretty runny and overloaded with veggies. Stick to the chicken wings, beef teriyaki, chicken fingers, bbq ribs, and fried rice. It'll taste exactly how you expect them to every single time - and won't randomly disappoint you. Atmosphere It used to look pretty ugly on the inside, but now they've got a nice looking dining room and it's reasonably well kept. Plenty of parking, and in an easy to access location. Staff These old guys are pretty lively and make small talk with regulars (or do regulars make small talk with them? I can't tell.) Final Thoughts This place has been around for as long as I could remember. It has seen surrounding businesses change hands and survived the worst of what the economy has to offer. Regardless, it is still standing strong because of what it was built on: location, and price. Can't be beat.
google avatar

George L.

Yelp
Wah Sang, I like your hot and sour soup a lot. I dig your hours especially. My combination plate of tasty appetizers and fried rice was exactly what I was looking for the other night. I have a confession to make: I am in love with another. She does a lot for me including offering up a wider range of authentic options. Her name is China Star. It's true, she doesnt have your bubble tea but that's never been my thing anyway. So, I'm sorry but our relationship isn't a lasting one. You're a very tasty restaurant and I know you'll do great without my business. I wish you all the luck! -George "Spicy Wings" L.

T M.

Yelp
Disgusting ! Order a half roasted duck brought it home to find out its was not fresh had a foul smell bc the meat was old.. so when I place the order this duck was sitting around for days and oven roasted for order.. very disappointed! Never step foot in this place again. Not to mention rude customer service. Last time I ever step foot here again.

Gabriel S.

Yelp
I ordered a Szechuan chicken extra spicy. It was not spicy it was not Szechuan chicken. They need to learn what something is before putting it on the menu. 15 Year's ago I ordered from here and it was the worse Chinese food I have ever had!!! It was hot and sour soup and they gave me some over starched loogie looking slug kind of thing. I threw that away and thought maybe it was an off night so I thought today I would give it another try. I'm not a picky eater I don't even like to write bad reviews but this place annoys me to be consistently awful. I had their chicken wings I have no clue how you screw up chicken wings but this place has somehow managed to achieve this monumental goal of running a business with the worst food I have ever had. Maybe they can look up some YouTube recipes on Chinese food. They must be running some illegal casino in the basement cause there's no way they're in the Chinese food business. Yeah that's all I got I don't have enough time in my life to list all the reasons this place is bad.
google avatar

Jeffrey L.

Yelp
Please save yourself some time and don't go here. Typical chinese restaurant except a little bit more mediocre. The staff was rude and the place itself was completely unsanitary. Nothing special, I expect my chinese food to be greasy and what not but I don't like drinking oil, where's the flavor? A lot of their items are over priced too. ps- my friend found a cockroach in his rice
