We, unfortunately, did not have a good Mother’s Day brunch experience at Wahoo this morning. It was so disappointing as we were all looking forward to it. We went there last year for dinner on Mother’s Day and really enjoyed it. We thought it would be great to try their special brunch this year. It was absolutely disappointing.
To start, when we went through the buffet line, the servers were rationing the food in such a shocking way. I wasn’t even that hungry thankfully, but it was shocking. They gave a very small scoop of eggs (like a tablespoon), one small square of French toast, and literally counted out the fruit piece by piece (one cube sized piece of watermelon, one cubed sized piece of honeydew, one cubed piece of cantaloupe, and one grape). I have never gone to a place where they rationed the fruit in that way. This was not at all an inexpensive meal, so it’s just so surprising.
The food itself was not good, which again was so shocking given the quality of the dinner that we had there before. The eggs seemed like powder-like eggs, the hash brown type dish was soggy and cold, and the chicken sausage was cold. We just tried to make the most of it and enjoyed each other’s company despite the meal. However, it seemed like we couldn’t leave without one last disappointment.
When we went to get our cars from the valet, we were told we couldn’t use our cards as we were told when we entered. My daughter and I were surprised because the attendant had said so when we arrived but then upon leaving said we had to use Cash app or Venmo. We ended up just paying cash but again were just disappointed with the whole experience. It was not at all the Mother’s Day experience that we were completely confident that it would be.
