Counterserve tacos, burritos and salad. The crispy fish taco was very good with a little heat from the salsa. The fish was indeed crispy and tasty. There was a lot of slaw making it easier to eat with a fork than by hand. Service was fast and friendly and the food came out quickly. The room has a surfer theme and lots of seating indoors and out. It was very loud. Parking is limited and was completely full at the peak of the lunch hour. Right now, there is construction on Colorado so you need to turn off at Mississippi or Louisana and work your way to Wahoos.

My first dance with this fast-food Mex/fusion surfer-themed mashup. My impression: extremely good top to bottom. Big menu board w lots of choices, really attentive counter person madé sure I understood the options, without making me feel like I was the millionth person she had to tell it all to today. Food tasted really fresh, even the rice and beans were like … good! Each of the meats in my combo was fresh, juicy and distinctly flavored. Sauce bar options also goods and fresh. My impression is this outfit raises the bar on the quality of what can be delivered to the customer in a fast food setting. Well done!

The staff were super nice and I saw that they were attentive to sit in eating customers as well as my take out. The atmosphere in wahoos is always great. I was surprised to not see so many people! As always the food is amazing! I got the outer reef with spicy chicken, smothered with that extra green magic. Just thought they deserved a shout out for this amazingly crafter behemoth!

Wow! Joanna is *the best*, you all! She has a killer memory, she’s kind, and she’s very friendly and helpful. We had a great time, and she made it greater! Go HERE for happy hour. WOW! 50% off all appetizers on Sundays *all day*! And also 3-6 on weekdays! You can get a whole quesadilla for $5.50. Add a premium protein, and you’re only out $6.50. Onion rings? $3.00!!! Granted, they aren’t the best onion rings I’ve ever eaten; not incredibly full onions, and the batter is kind of stiff. The quesadillas, however, are full of deliciousness and flavor. Highly recommend!! And for the price, you CANNOT go wrong with either!!!

Food is amazing. There green sauce is fabulous. Cajun fries were good if you like some heat. It was clean. Employees were friendly. Food came out quickly. They have sport on TV which is fun. I plan to go more often. I used to go to the one on 20th regularly, but it closed and I wish it would open there again. I absolutely would recommend this place.

Google
I really wanted to love this place due to me missing the SoCal beach vibe. You order at the counter, and they bring the food to your table. They have a decent selection of soft drinks and local beers. The price per taco is a bit high, but it's a pretty big taco. The carnitas meat is soft, not crispy...like they should be. The flavors could be a bit bolder. The salsas are pretty solid. Probably won't be back.

Google
I really want to, but just can't get into these tacos. 2nd attempt just think flavor could be so much better. May try again but my tacos at home are so much better. Pretty good value though...

Google
The last time I had Wahoos, was when it used to be near my hometown in California... I have been to a Wahoos in over 20 years... And conveniently, this was located near my hotel in Denver, I wasn't going to allow another 20 years to pass before having it again. Upon entrance, I arrived late, about an hour before closing... There was plenty of seating available, upon viewing of the menu, I was taken back to yesteryear with my want and need for these amazing fish tacos... I asked the cashier, who was very friendly, for recommendations and they did not disappoint. So glad I was able to visit again . Left Happy and full! Great job by the staff! Very friendly and very customer service oriented!

Yelp
We used to come here 10 years ago, and then it hit a lull for a bit. We have been coming back recently and it's SO GOOD! All new management vibe. The staff is so sweet and the food is awesome. So happy to have it back and good! The green sauce is unbelievable, we love the bonzai bowl, tacos, burritos, even the salads. Good margs too!

Yelp
I'm sad that a once favorite go-to has fallen so low. I will say it's been a while since I've been to Wahoo's Fish Tacos, but I've been going since my California days. I loved that we have them in Colorado. We went and the menu had changed a lot. I ordered a fish taco without slaw, but it arrived with cabbage on it. I told the server I had ordered it without, and he said it was cabbage, not slaw. We split hairs here and it wasn't worth the battle, so I just scrapped it off. The food was very bland and not satisfying, just like the service. It wasn't until we left that we saw a salsa bar in the middle of the restaurant. It would have been nice if the server told us that. Based on this visit, I can take another favorite place off my list. It makes me sad.

Yelp
It used to be so good We came here after not having come here for a long while. Food was so mediocre. Bonsai burrito - fish was so overcooked it was chewy. Nachos were so so. The crispy fish tacos was mostly crisp.... So disappointing when I was so looking forward to it.

Yelp
Great Food, Loud Music Ruined It Fish tacos are good, havent tried much else. Music sucks.

Ryan R.

Yelp
I ordered steak and potato tacos, I specifically asked for no onions or cilantro. The tacos came out with no onions or cilantro, however, the steak was cooked with onions, a lot of onions. I couldn't even eat them, I tried to pick out the onion, but it did no good. Ruined taco Tuesday!

Yelp
Still a good place for us to order our office lunch. AND now they let you order the green sauce online. They didn't used to and you had to ask for it when you pick up the food and the staff didn't seem excited about that. Now, uou can order as much as you want. I mean I could probably drink it. It goes great on the grilled chicken tacos, which are my fav. Over cool vibe and fun place for some yummy tacos.

Yelp
I had never been inside a Wahoos before and I'm regretting that after this meal. I was never sure what to think about "fish" tacos and that doubt kept me away. That's fear was unfounded as fish tacos are absolutely amazing. The restaurant itself was bright, clean and very colorful. I enjoyed the surf boards and the paint schemes. The woman at the counter really helped my wife and I sort through the menu items as we were not familiar with anything. Of course, we're had to try a single fish taco just to see what the hype was about. They are mouth watering and have a very unique taste. My wife and I are new fans and groupies of Wahoos and have already been back twice. The service at this particular store is really above and beyond.

Yelp
Wow first time here. Great food. Very fresh and delicious flavors. We really enjoyed the spicy chicken taco and enchiladas. The beans are delicious too. Queso and chips were very good. Look forward to coming back. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. Fun vibe and good music.

Sm B.

Yelp
Usually when I walk up to counter, employee puts down their cell phone. In this case the employee finished his text message. Then he handed me a dirty water cup. Take a learning from Disney...no cell phones while working. So easy. Get it together leaders. Take action or you may go out of business.

Yelp
This place is perfect for white people who can't cook but want to feel like they ate Mexican food. Staff sucks, food sucks, they price their food like it's actually good. There's like 2 people who actually work the rest stand around and talk or be on their phone.Besides that I'm sure you'll happily spend 6.50 for super dry , super normal fish or chicken taco. OH and if you complain theyll refund you the money and give out free food. Employees&managers only get 50% off so they'll pay for the food waste and anything the company needs funding for. Apart from over priced menu and bland food with mid service I'm sure this is the perfect spot !!AND you can treat the workers however you feel like because they'll get in trouble if they retaliate in anyway or if they have any self respect.. company hates that.

Kurt H.

Yelp
Same manager & employees and they continue to be the best...March 2025 now and is just as outstanding as they seem to have always been. Thanks guys, it is awesome to see a 'fast food' place that still cares about quality, corporate standards, friendliness, cleanliness etc etc.

Yelp
The fish tacos were great. Service was fine. Place seemed kinda dirty. I won't be returning. The reason is not the food or service. I asked for a receipt and saw a 5% service fee on there. It was only like 70 cents but the tacos were $5.50 each, then tax and a drink. Almost $16. Again, the tacos were tasty. But I'm eating at home more and more.
google avatar

Yelp
Some of the best tacos that I've ever had. I asked the girl for 2 of her favs. Carnitas were excellent t and spicy hot. Tolerable for me but they are spicy.
google avatar

Safa S.

Yelp
Not a place that I would come a gain The chicken was not good, was not enough cooked they cover it with lettuce so you'll not see the chicken Expensive compared to the quality of the food

Sami S.

Yelp
Do not eat here. Steak was completely raw and gave me and my boyfriend food poisoning.
google avatar

Lara W.

Yelp
Wasn't tasty at all. Bland rice and beans. Cajun chicken had a weird flavor to it. Was so Excited to eat here since they're known in San Diego but this wasn't good at all. Super disappointed

Yelp
The buritos are very filling. I tried the shrimp this go round and it was good although the blackened fish is hard to beat. If you like sauce go with the red and green Christmas style smothered on your burito. It also has melty cheese and more cheese is always a bonus. Staff brings you the food after ordering at the counter. Wahoo I'm full!
google avatar

Shelley M.

Yelp
Nice change up from typical taco/burrito place. The fish as an option is part of what makes it different. I really enjoyed the fish in my quessadilla.
google avatar

Yelp
Baja steak salad, quesadillas, burritos, chips and queso BOMB! Get an extra side of the creamy cilantro dressing, so good!
google avatar

Jonathan L.

Yelp
This place is a little unique but I really liked it. My meal was delicious and when I go back to Denver I'm stopping again. The inside gave me long John silver vibes. The kid who took my order was helpful too.

Yelp
My family and I love Wahoos Fish Tacos! We have been loyal customers for well over a decade and the service has been nothing less than amazing.

Yelp
I came to this location for the first time as a huge Wahoos lover. However, I doubt I will ever come back. When we arrived for lunch on this Sunday, there were plenty of parking spots. We placed our order from a young woman, she seemed decent. When looking for a table to sit at, most of them were dirty during a very slow period of customer flow. At one point the employee was on her phone near the register. I grabbed multiple napkins and cleaned a table for our lunch. The food was delivered and the fries were the highlight. The overall production of the food was fair. While we sat by the window, we observed multiple mice on the patio with the patio door propped wide open. After observing the mice for 10 minutes while eating, we got sick to our stomachs. Everything about our experience uttered the message that this location has been poorly managed. The music was loud and unwelcoming. The vibe was lackluster. I was highly disappointed with my experience at this particular location.

Anne Z.

Yelp
Just stopped in to grab a bowl to go. Up charge of $2 for fish plus the min tip option over $2. My one small meal to go was over $20.

Ian M.

Yelp
I LOVE your burritos. But please, hold the rocks next time... The food here is good, but the staff seems to be in their own little world. In addition to the rock they didn't get the drink order right, and just didn't even ring in something I ordered. Honestly it wasn't a huge deal, until the rock. And these reviews need to be a certain length so I figured I'd mention that too. Burrito 5 stars. Rock 1 star.

Yelp
You can't go wrong at Wahoo's. Great food, great prices and they have some of the most potent margaritas in the area. I'm a Wahoo fan and am a purist. I've tried many things on their menu but always go back to the Blackened Fish tacos with a marg. I just stear clear of Wednesday night because it's kids night. However, if you have kids that's the night to go. I enjoy the vibe at Wahoo's, kind of throw back surfer style. Bonus: they have a great patio to sit out on in the warmer weather and it's dog friendly.
google avatar

WillandBrandy S.

Yelp
they've gotten ridiculou. 77 for a family of 4. they now add in too without telling you and so I tipped twice. nit worth it anymore
google avatar

Kerry S.

Yelp
Love the salsa bar with extra fresh jalapeños. The chicken bowl was underwhelmingly plain and "meh" at best, like I'd rather grill chicken and dump black beans from a can at home for 25% of the cost, but the salsa bar jazzed it up. And, the employees were really great. If not for the employees and cleanliness of restaurant ... maybe 2.5 stars.

Susan W.

Yelp
Went there for a family outing. Considering we had been there about 2-3 years back and had an excellent experience we thought it would be nice for a family dinner. However we were very wrong. Upon arriving at the restaurant, we quickly noticed how filthy the restaurant was. Tables floors even chairs had food or spills, lids to the sauces on the table just laying around, almost all of the tables looked a complete mess and made it hard to choose where me and my family could sit comfortably. When ordering, it took someone a long while to greet us even though plenty of staff had acknowledged us standing there. By the way, it wasn't even busy! When taking our order the lady seemed rude and like she didn't want to be there and was almost rushing us. We ordered meals for each of us, and chips and salsa for the table along with drinks. Some of the cups we received for our drinks looked dirty, and some were wet! Then when we finally found a table that was MOSTLY clean out of all of the filthy ones in the room, we waited what felt like an unreasonably long time for our meals. And our chips and salsa were not brought out at all during this time, when our food came the display was messy and the same lady who had taken our order gave each person the wrong plate again as if she didn't care. We mentioned that we never received our chips and salsa and with attitude she left and came back with a basket barely full of any chips and salsa that was extremely watery and spilling onto the table off of the sides. The food itself felt bland and none of us much enjoyed it. My granddaughters food didn't even looked cooked with cold hard cheese that had suppose to be melted. The portions within my plate were terribly off with way to much of one thing and way to little of the other, I barely had any protein in my plate. When we asked for a refill on our chips she tried to charge us even though the basket we were given was barely full to begin with for a whole table of people! They had also this whole time had been allowing children with their families to run around and scream and make messes and neither the employees or parents did a thing. I saw employees at the counter on their phones, eating food, gossiping and to say the least hardly doing any work. We were never checked on once at our table either while they were messing around. Me and my family will never be returning, Wahoos used to be an amazing place to go to eat with your family and share memories. But it is much different now and needs some major changes from the corporate. I don't even write reviews, but my experience was so horrible I thought it was necessary.

Yelp
Hands down the one of my favorite fast good burrito spots on the go there delicious Great place to try food lot of great tastes you'll enjoy
google avatar

Gabriella R.

Yelp
Always a good bite. The staff were really friendly and made sure they were taking care of their customers while managing the place and keeping it clean and tidy. I appreciated their hospitality tonight!
google avatar

Surafale A.

Yelp
It's alright, not my favorite Wahoo's. I love this place in LA but the one in Denver just doesn't do it for me. The Baja rolls are a pass, I would go with any of the chicken the bowl.
google avatar

Rene D.

Yelp
Saw this place the other day as we drove by. Had to come in. We r leaving tomorrow morning. So we wanted fish tacos. I decided to try their cauliflower rice. It was good but I was full on the queso and chips plus the two tacos. So we ate just a little of everything g else. Boy had fish tacos with rice. Pretty tasty is the queso... yummy fur sur
google avatar

Kimberli R.

Yelp
Fish Tacos were good. We did take-out and they had good packaging and included sauces and utensils. I had the shrimp tacos and they were very good. Brian had the salmon bowl. This is a good place to stop when you need something on the go. Parking lot available. Good hours for the night owls.
google avatar

Alexia F.

Yelp
Thank god for Yelp or I wouldn't have found this place! I was in the area and was craving fish tacos. I turned to Yelp to see what my options were and I saw Wahoos. The inside is adorable. It's got a "shack" vibe to it. Holy cow are their tacos good! I got a shrimp and steak taco and they were delicious. My mouth is literally watering as I think about them. I've been back a few times since. Other than the tacos, the steak quesadilla is also yummy.
google avatar

Yelp
Wahoos Tacos truly makes my heart skip a beat and make me want to declare Wahoooooooo!! Lol I fell in love with this restaurant establishment back in college. I recently went back with my best friend! Honestly it's still as amazing as I remember it! I normally would get the wahoos salad with grilled or blackened fish and it was so good! This last time I tried the paleo patter and it was superb! It wasn't too big of a dish or too small, it's just right! So flavorful and delicious as ever! It's quick and fast and is a great lunch break spot! You order at the front and thy bring it right to you in a matter of minutes.I wish they had one in Dallas but they do have one in Austin so I go there every time I visit! Denver you are so lucky to have a Wahoos amongst you!
google avatar

Alice G.

Yelp
Wahoos Fish Tacos is a Colorado staple, serving up delicious fish tacos and more in its cool skibum-modern setting. I always get the same thing: 2 cajun fish tacos with black beans and slaw. Always. I don't really know what else is on the menu. The tacos are always consistent and delicious, and the slaw has something special going on....crunchy, cool, and addictive! This location on Colorado blvd is clean, huge, and efficient. If you are in the neighborhood, it is perfect for a lunch bite. And! It is connected to a Starbucks for and after-fish coffee!!
google avatar

Scott H.

Yelp
The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the parking and access sucks! The food continues to be awesome! i don't know how a food chain restaurant can serve fresh, healthy, perfectly prepared, food every time, everywhere! I typically order the two item combo with blackened fish taco, asada (I think) meat enchilada, with brown rice and black beans. I love that I have the option to get healthy brown rice instead of nasty white (I'm not a racist) and black beans instead of the typical stuff. They even offer a choice of sauce on the enchilada- I like green. My dish is so healthy while filling and the worst thing I had for dinner was a little (excellent) meat, instead of a cookie. I don't drink yet there's a bar and tons of options all around. These guys are the cream of the crop!
google avatar

John R.

Yelp
Typical wahoos! This place gives me good vibes. I just walk in and have good feelings and can't help but smile. The workers are friendly and the food is great! If I'm ever over here I'm going back
google avatar

Ryan M.

Yelp
Staff super friendly, service was stupid fast, food was all fresh and piping hot, quantities were generous... I kinda want to go back. Get the flounder.
google avatar

Aaron H.

Yelp
My visit had its ups and downs. The positive was the staff who were friendly and had our order for us quickly and accurately. Even though we did a to-go order I also really enjoyed the atmosphere in the restaurant. The negatives start with the food itself, which was lackluster (we got tacos and a chicken soup that left a lot to be desired). The online ordering system was also really hard to navigate and use. Overall Wahoo's is doing business well but is slinging an underwhelming product.
google avatar

Paul D.

Yelp
Such a fun environment! Portions are nice size, food came quickly, and was very good! We'll be back.
google avatar

Ashley M.

Yelp
Overall feels like an overpriced spinoff of Fuzzy's tacos. Menu is confusing and hard to read. I let the lady know if was my first time ordering and she was no help. Food is decent. Apparently there's Cuban spices? Something about cauliflower rice? Not sure. If the girl checking me out would have giving any small about of guidance it would have greatly helped. The construction of the 'enchilada' was hilarious. 10 bucks to have some sliced chicken put on a tortilla and some quest (that costs extra) poured on top. Definitely not what I consider an enchilada.
google avatar

Evelyn S.

Yelp
A staple for the family! Very hearty food, no matter what you order. I always eat too much because I can't stop myself. And it's all at a decent price, too. I'm especially happy that my kid eats the kid's meal so well. The music is a little loud if you eat inside, but the outside seating is nice. Takeout is also a good option.
google avatar

Matt G.

Yelp
Wahoo's is the best! It's healthy and hearty. Service is always good here and I like the surfer vibe there. Margaritas are good and their white rice is delicious.
google avatar

Ashley P.

Yelp
Wahoos is so yummy! And so much more fresh than those "other" fast casual spots. Who doesn't love some good grill wahoo with rice and beans and veggies. Their green cilantro sauce is to die for... Get extra. Won't regret it!! Even better, the gluten free menu is displayed front and center on the counters. So many options to choose from!!
google avatar

Panda F.

Yelp
Pretty frustrating that the cashier wasn't wearing her mask properly and then we were instructed to wait outside until our food was ready and someone would bring it out....we waiting for almost 30mins and walked in to see what was going on and the food was sitting there for who knows how long and all the cashier said was "idk why they didn't bring it out"....the store had maybe four customers at this time...
google avatar

Kelly R.

Yelp
I have to now recommend the Blackened Fish Enchilada! Get it with red sauce..awesome! I tried their side salad today, instead of black beans (my norm), and it was great! Very simple: fresh lettuce, carrot and balsamic. Another great meal at a cool, friendly establishment.
google avatar

Yelp
Apprehensive of a chain restaurant serving fish tacos 1000 miles from the ocean? Fear not my friends! Your taste buds will leap up and dance when they meet the cajun Wahoo outerbank burrito. Flavorful, hearty, and flat out delicious! You walk up to the counter, place your order with the friendly folks, take a number and a seat and nom food is brought to you minutes later. Hip beach decor, hundreds of local stickers covering blank, open spaces, and a shaded patio! Pleasantly surprised and will definitely be back!
