So so SAD The greedy landlord didn't like paying their water bill and forced them to CLOSED. Wow, wow, wow! the quality of the food is top Chinese restaurant flavor. I highly recommend the fried rice and wonton soup. This is truly a gem hidden near the corner of Virgil and Melrose. Only draw back is limited parking and busy street hard to find street parking. Very friendly and family owned for over forty years. Few miles from the comedy club and Kaiser. Guest have included George Lopez.

This is a great small chinese restaurant. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are big. The bbq pork fried rice is really good and its huge - a must try! The employees are also very nice. However remember that it is a cash only establishment.

Really good food! The owner is super nice! She’s from Hong Kong and her restaurant really reminds me of Hong Kong.

Good Chinese food, you shouldn't be disappointed 😞. Take out even comes in a nostalgic form. Welcoming and happy 😊 staff coupled with quick n efficient service is a win win. The food was delicious 😋 and eaten out of the containers with chopsticks which heightened the experience. They now have my business.

Glad to see this establishment still going strong. Apparently been around since 1973. Great food great prices. I live not far from the Golden Hen and have found a new fav...the food is fast and the service was great. If you like more traditional Cantonese Chinese cuisine this is your joint. Small quaint restaurant that has not yet open for sit down dining. The House Chow Fun, Beef Mushroom and Asparagus Shrimp was very good with a rich brown luscious gravy. Doesn't look like there is was a bad dish on the menu as was apparent by the steady surge of customers from the short time i was.waiting for my take out dinner. This place is a gem. A real throw back to old skool dining. Enjoy the food, you won't be disapointed.

A hole in the wall! Don't let the outside fool you, food is super good, owners are super nice and it's definitely a place worth coming to! I only wish we could take them home to NM with us.

I love this place I always order mushroom chicken Mongolian beef and their special soup. Anytime I'm feeling sick I get their soup and feel better. I love the fact that it's a little place and the owner and her family do the cooking. You can see the little old lady in the back cooking up a storm. The food is always good. They only take cash so make sure to bring it. And the almond cookies are yummy.
