"With swings hanging from the ceiling and plants (and fake plants) “growing” from the rafters, Walden looks like a patio or a garden, but it's a neighborhood bar through and through. There are paintings of flowers on the walls, cozy booths, and a large bar with tons of seating. The cocktails are made with spirits that will look familiar to cocktail nerds: Hangar 1 Vodka, Monkey Shoulder Scotch, Bahnez Mezcal. "Executive chef Rahaf Amer will spearhead the culinary offerings at East Hill Row’s casual neighborhood bar Walden, which opened in March. Amer arrives from Salt & Vine, which closed abruptly earlier this month. She had been their executive chef since January, when she was promoted from sous chef. Amer, the daughter of two Syrian immigrants, recently curated a five-course meal at Nashville’s Food From Inside the Travel Ban event. Walden will soon feature an expanded menu from Amer to include a broader variety of small plates. The limited current menu offers hummus, salad, tacos, sandwiches, and pizzas.
