The Waldhorn Restaurant in Pineville offers a cozy German dining experience with hearty dishes and an extensive beer selection that transports you straight to Europe.
"This family-owned German restaurant has been around since 1999. As expected, the menu is hearty and exhaustive, with strudels, potato and veggie hashes, krauts, and a vast array of sausages. Nothing says warm and cozy better than the willkommen sign at the front door and the simple wooden indoor bar that gives off a bit of apres-ski vibes. The place itself, the hefty plating presentation and the tepid wine list do feel somewhat antiquated, but there’s no denying that a potato pancake slathered in applesauce and a stein of German beer is the most Alpine-hygge one can get in Charlotte. At the end of the night, try eating (and pronouncing) the schwarzwälderkirschtorte — a rich chocolate cake with a cherry filling." - Kayleigh Ruller
